Good morning all. After the most glorious day yesterday with wall-to-wall sunshine from dawn to dusk we're back to grey with rain forecast. Thank goodness for tai chi this morning to cheer things up
Great to hear you sounding so well Mick - those few days in hospital achieved something. And grandmattie so good to know you're pleased with the result of your cataract op. I remember after mine being amazed at how white white was, and how blue blue. Quite a revelation!
Yesterday Spring well and truly sprung with the sowing of barley in the field behind the house. How hard that lad worked! And what once would have taken several days was completed in one. I would have loved to have been here to see the Clydesdales working the land - but then I couldn't have been because what is now my house and large garden was once the farm's blacksmith's house, forge and yard, up to about 1955.
Right, history lesson over!
Happy Birthday to Persie, kitty, and love her t-shirt.
Enjoy your day beachcombing bluebalou and everyone else, enjoy whatever you get up to - preferably with a little sunshine x

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
A bit dreich outside.
I had an unexpectedly indulgent day yesterday. I met a friend at the Museum for exhibitions, lunch at the Institut Francais, the afternoon at the botanic gardens and then with DS to the Usher Hall to the DGC school concert. The sun shone all day.

Your fossil hunting sounds intriguing BlueBalou.
I am glad to hear you can see again gMattie
I'm sure you needed that sleep Ash smile
A catching up day today here
Have a good one if you can.

Good morning, s somerset is dreary and wet amd seems as though it will be like this for days

I am burning candles lately, safely btw. They actually lift the living room temperature by a degree or so. I also have some in hurricane lamps and need to find some tapers as the candles are now low. I have too candles and burning is treble purpose, using up with warming and cheery light. They are not scented or paraffin wax

A large gingerbread tray bake made yesterday, it has a tsp of vanilla powder in it and was the nicest I ever tasted. Quickly cut and stowed out of sight in the freezer. I am easiy tempted by home made cake

Have a good day

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Back to dull and wet today.
Yesterday was a really lovely day, sunny all day long. We had a good walk on the morning and later I managed to scarify both lawns.
Off to the bank and garden centre this morning. Book club later.
Have a good day everyone.

Thanks ash. Yes, I’m armed with information from there. Useful for me, Mr C is less keen just now, no doubt will get to it in his own time. It’s good to have a rough timescale. It was explained the impact of current disputes makes precision difficult.

Good Morning from an overclouded S Yorks. Last night however the moon and stars were beautiful, tho I was struggling to see the special alignment of stars as advertised.

always difficult to lose a familiar and trusted GP, Greyduster. Mine is still there but part time and has stepped back somewhat so I have to persuade one GP to get a special appointment with her. I hope you find a nice replacement.

So glad to hear of eye success GMattie
Fantastic holiday Blue and nice to see grandchildren pix.

Take care poorlies and have the best days you can all.

After two days going tot he gym I need a rest, but the cupboard is rather bare. Got a very important medical Zoom at 1pm with results so very on edge indeed. Shall try and get lost in a book for the morning, and do a bit of packing for the weekend family visit.

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey but so far dry Carlisle.
Yesterday was a glorious day weatherwise. In spite of feeling wambly in the morning, I just had to get outside in the lovely sun. I removed dead heathers and planted new ones plus a white azalea. It took more effort than I'd expected, I needed my mini pickaxe to loosen the heavy clay and mix ericaceous compost into it, then I found a brick I had to hack out. The builders bury all this stuff thinking most folk are not gardeners and will never know what's underneath. I have so far unearthed a mini mountain of useful limestone rockery stone.
In spite of it being only 8C apparently, the sun felt really hot on my back, all very uplifting.
I rested with a new book after and managed to finish it.
It clouded over at sunset so no seeing planets here.

Today I shall continue with some housework and laundry and after, whatever takes my fancy.

Have a good day everyone.

EkwaNimitee Tue 28-Mar-23 08:54:09

Good luck with those results Wyllow

Good morning all from a wet Oxfordshire, we are off to a Tourist Hot Spot today for lunch with some friends we haven’t seen for a couple of years, they want to meet in the Car Museum, let’s hope as it’s a Tuesday and wet that there won’t be too many people about.
Pleased with myself for giving the lawn its first cut yesterday whilst it was sunny, our hedgehog is still in his house, he hissed at me when I took a peek but seems in no rush to come out.
Hope everyone has a good day and that we see some sunshine.

Wyllow3 Tue 28-Mar-23 09:13:44

Thank you EkwaNimitee.

Good morning all from a very wet Glasgow. Such a change from a perfect springlike sunny day yesterday when I spent most of it in the garden, no wrapping up with layers of clothes. Bliss.

Happy 10th Birthday Persie 🎂🎉…double numbers was a big event for our two GDs kitty.
Sorry to hear you had another vertigo episode Marydoll. Understandable you don’t want to tackle the dams road if you haven’t been driving for a while. Enjoy your coffee outing and no doubt, lots of blethering. 😉

Best wishes to all for a good day.

A later good morning from a damp Northampton; the cats woke me at 6.45am, but I managed to shoo them off the bed, turned over and went back to sleep. I then woke at 8.30. Just having a much needed.mug of tea.

Had a really lazy day yesterday; the cats were returned from the cattery and needed a lot of attention, but after that I did very little. My lovely neighbour popped round to return my house keys, and he had a look through my holiday photos . He refused the bottle of S African wine I had got him; but I had also bought a pack of African coasters so gave him those to give to his wife.

Did a bit of washing, then spent the rest of the day catching up on reading various things. Had a lovely roast chicken for dinner, and have loads left over for meals this week. Cold chicken, new potatoes and peas tonight then will make chicken stew tomorrow, and freeze the rest.

Health walk this afternoon; a.walk in this light rain if it doesn't get any worse will do me good. I need to lose the pounds I put on after the last two weeks!

Need to ring the hairdresser to bring forward my appointment if possible - it's not due for another three weeks, but my hair seems to have grown really quickly in that African sunshine!

Have a good day everyone.

harrigran Tue 28-Mar-23 09:24:35

Good morning from an overcast NE where it is quite cool.
Yesterday it was sunny all day, from what I have read it was pretty much the same all over the country.
Nothing planned for today, will just tidy up and write my shopping list for tomorrow.
DD rang me yesterday so I got to speak to her on her birthday.
She told me she had been taken to hospital from work last week, she had a sudden onset, very severe headache. She had lots of tests and none of them showed anything worrying, suggested it may be hormonal.
Have a good day.

luluaugust Tue 28-Mar-23 09:41:17

Good morning all from a wet W Kent. Off to the supermarket and then DB arrives for a couple of days covering DH's birthday.
Our lovely GP left some years ago Greyduster the new ones are pleasant, not that we see them now, but its just not the same.
Glad the eye is good gM
Happy birthday Persie
Best wishes to all.

Greyduster Tue 28-Mar-23 09:46:09

I was particularly grateful to her when DH died last year. I don’t think I could have coped with some faceless GP then.

Sar53 Tue 28-Mar-23 09:46:16

Good morning from a very wet and grey day in Essex by the sea.
I'm still not feeling brilliant, I don't think the medication is working yet. I have to give it time.
I have some ironing to do and the washing machine is on.
I hope you all have a good day and hopefully there will be some sunshine somewhere xxx

GrannySomerset Tue 28-Mar-23 09:46:24

Dismal morning but will be enlivened by a supermarket shop and then some sorting out upstairs, a job I keep putting off. Must follow grandM’s admirable lead! Glad the cataract op went well, by the way. Otherwise a nothing sort of day but none the worse for that.

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 28-Mar-23 10:02:57

Good morning all from dreich Harrogate
Did anyone else see that programme last night on BBC4 on Kelvingrove art galleries - my favourite art gallery by far. Presented by Lachlan Goudie. It was at 7.30pm.
I loved the comment by your DGS Nankate the answer is yes! My DH is 82 and has a permanent cough. Happy birthday 🎂 to your beautiful DGD Kitty. She’s a lovely girl.
Sorry you had another dose of vertigo Marydoll it’s horrible.
I did attempt to post yesterday while on a hospital appointment, but no public wifi in that department. Anyway my breathing has not got any worse in the last year.
Today will have to go to the shops somewhere, somehow!
Have the best day possible folks

ShazzaKanazza Tue 28-Mar-23 10:06:39

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a grey dry Hull. Rain is forecast later for the rest of the day.

Hope Persie has a lovely 10th birthday Kitty.

My GDs are both poorly we were supposed to be going to soft play today but not now. Poor girls they both seem to come home with everything going around at nursery. DD has sent me a shopping list. I’m going to go to Iceland and get my first 10% off now I’m 60. I’ll look after the girls so she can go and have a nap for an hour after having a bad night.

Wishing you all a good day with hopefully some sunshine. Thoughts to those feeling poorly or have family worries. 🌻🌻

Good morning from West York's,Greyduster all our Drs left over the last year, the ones we have now are long term locums one of the female Drs saw me through both my cancers and became like a friend so I miss her.Nothing much happening today still feeling off it ,maybe a walk later, one of my Daughter's passed her grade one ballet exam got 82% which is a merit we are very proud of her.Thinking of those waiting results and those with ongoing worries.

Teasel57 Tue 28-Mar-23 10:36:09

Morning. What a difference a day makes - raining and overcast here. One very bored puppy in need of some exercise! Sorry to hear about your vertigo Marydoll. I get it too and find the head turning exercises very good. I agree that a familiar and trusted GP is very important Greyduster. Very sorry to hear about your loss last year. Persie looks lovely. We have 2 GD 9 & 13. Still getting to grips with abbreviations! Have a good day everyone.

aggie Tue 28-Mar-23 10:42:58

Good morning from a wet dark Co Armagh, such a change from yesterday. !
Got my hearing aids adjusted , and a lot of useful information, I don’t need to see her for a year unless I have problems , I can ring for advice or appointment any time , this is all included in the price of the aids , so worth it
Today I’m trying to finish a crochet throw for Daughter in Law , my Granddaughter saw it yesterday and wanted to take it there and then , I promised she could take it for her Mum tomorrow
Delighted to hear GrandMattie is pleased after her cataract op , but take it easy !
Same to Marydoll sorry your vertigo has come back !
I can’t believe Persie is 10 ! Happy birthday 🎂

Blossoming Tue 28-Mar-23 10:51:58

Good morning everyone from a very wet Lancashire. Nothing planned for today, too wet for any gardening so it will be housework and the usual physio, etc. Glad your operation has gone so well Grandmattie. So sorry to read of poorly grans and poorly grandchildren, hope all are soon better.

Marydoll too much bending makes me dizzy and wobbly, and also kicks off acid reflux. I have to plan round it. Hope you have a better day.

Blossoming Tue 28-Mar-23 11:02:19

Hope the results are good Wyllow flowers

Good morning Mick and all from a damp northwest coast.
A sleepless night for some reason…
Nice day in city yesterday with old friend, Italian meal, museum shut and I pulled him on to the top deck of the tourist bus. Strange being a tourist she I lived there for over twenty years. He, living elsewhere, was impress by all the Georgian properties. He brought nice presents for my boithday the other week.

I’m on the desk in charge and singing at the music club, but v tired, don’t feel like going..l
Good news re op GM all the best Wyllow and thoughts to Gingster and her DD.
Will read through properly later.
