When we had a bathroom refit we installed a walk-in shower, as well as keeping the bath, so that should either of us find as we got older we could not get in and out the bath, we had an alternative
The only person who uses the shower is DD, when she visits.
I use our second bathroom because it has a huge 1960's plastic bath, as solid and nearly as heavy as a cast-iron one. I wallow in it, no bubbles, just hot water that flows over and around me.
Soaking in the bath is one of my mental and physical luxuries. I soothe my conscious water-wise by only having one every other day.
Showers are too much like hard work, You have to work at making sure you are thoroughly clean. In a bath, you relax and the water does all the hard work.
I am a spa visitor. For me water is meant to be relaxing.
