Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but remains dry here in brackley today .
Plans for the day include a trip to Bicester on the bus , followed as usual with cycling on T^V this afternoon.
And of course later in the week my Echo heart scan at the Churchill.
Otherwise a build to next weeekend.
Take Care,
Mick

Morning all. We are now moored at Durnstein and will visit Melk later. It seems to be colder here than back home so I’m glad to have brought a winter coat with me! Have a good day.

grandMattie Mon 03-Apr-23 06:08:16

Good morning from a dry E Kent. Rain most of yesterday cleared up in the afternoon.
Good luck with your echocardiogram this week, Mick.
I had a quiet day yesterday. Church first thing with a palm, I took an extra one for my nursing home friend. She is being very passive aggressive about my move.. I did some reading, some knitting, some (very little) cooking.
Today, I shall wait with bated breath to get a reply to my impassioned mail from the warden of the sheltered flat I’m hoping to buy. How on earth does she want me to be interviewed? Ah, well.
Pottering still. I’m neither allowed to bend over nor lift heavy stuff for a week and three weeks resp. For those interested, I made my bed on my knees! I didn’t need to bend over 🤣
May you have a gentle day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩❤️

Good morning from a dry but breezy Torbay.

I have had a few heart echocardiograms, Mick, which helped my cardiologist to identify my failing mitral valve. They’re quite fascinating, if you are able to see the screen.

Thank you for the very kind comments about my photo on yesterday’s GM thread. I was really touched, especially by the poignant one from Stilllearning. My beloved Northern Irish father had a lovely smile, even when he was dying. The song “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling” could have been inspired by him!

grandMattie: I would hope the warden will treat you as a special case, given the distance involved and the fact that you shouldn’t lift a case on and off a train, presumably, following your cataract surgery.

No exercise class today as the Sports Centre is timetabled for activities for schoolchildren, now on their Easter holiday.

I hope today is the start of a good week for you all. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from s somerset, it is going to be a good drying day and my washing is on

My head was whizzy all night, I have two fantastic neighbours, we all gelled when we moved in and we help each other. One is now barely coping with a brain tumour, he has a wife now. The other had a stroke at the weekend, he is 80 and was as active cheerful and helpful as they come, his oh lives half a mile away in her own small house. He has been taking care of her. I don`t know how on earth they will cope.

Life can change on a sixpence

Good morning, it almost looks like frost on the car roof this morning.
Yesterday was spent sorting out the washing and unpacking from our holiday. I cooked a roast dinner which, even if I say so myself was yummy, and spent an hour or so doing watercolour colour mixing. That was very enjoyable and relaxing.
Today off to look at paving slabs for the new patio, manicure later and I think DD and her DDog are arriving sometime.
Looking like the weather’s bucking up!

Marydoll Mon 03-Apr-23 06:40:58

Good morning all from a chilly Glasgow, where its only 2°C.

I too have echo cardiograms on a regular basis, they are indeed fascinating, quick and painless, Mick! As well as diagnosing problems, they are also used for ruling out things, which helped diagnose, what was happening to me.

Yesterday was a non day, I had planned to work in the garden, but the dreaded vertigo hit, so nothing much got done.
DH is golfing, I am going to wait until I'm up and see how I feel, before deciding what to do.

Have a good day folks.

Grammaretto Mon 03-Apr-23 06:44:30

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It looks bright out so I hope to get a few chores done. My green house has a broken pane and blocked gutters.

It was so lovely having DS3 and DGD here for a flying visit. DD came over to see her DB so it was like old times with laughter and fun. I have been missing the family banter.

Goodness gMattie I hope you receive a sensible response. How unsettling for you . The exact opposite of welcoming.

I'll read back later when I ve had my cuppa
Wishing everyone a happy day.

Good morning from a bright & clear Sefton. A sunny day is forecast🌞.
A busy day for us. Singing group this morning. My DH is our resident guitarist & wannabe rock idol😁. Our numbers are growing, 30 people 'on the books' now. We will run out of chairs soon. A quick lunch then off to see to our 3 yr old granddaughter whilst mum & dad get on with important zoom meetings & phone calls. They both work from home. A very quick tea then off to WI for me.
Hope today starts a good week for all.

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire where the sky is bright with streaks of blue and pink.

We had, for us, a very late night and I’m feeling groggy. I felt ancient last night at the wedding as we weren’t able join the ceilidh dancing due to my back and DH’s arthritic knees. We were definitely the old ones sitting on the edge of the dance floor remembering the time when we would have Stripped the Willow with the best of them.

I’ll be like a half shut knife at work today.

Have the best day possible everyone.

kittylester Mon 03-Apr-23 07:14:22

Good morning all from a frosty North Leicestershire.

DH is off to the gym this morning while I am filling and icing a cake. This afternoon I am helping on the last of our current Carers' course which has an emphasis on looking after oneself - hence the cake!

Have the best day possible everyone.

Grandmachrisy47 Mon 03-Apr-23 07:17:12

Good morning from a frosty Co Durham.
No dgd or gdogs today as the schools are closed for Easter, so why am I up early 😀? Oh yes, hair appointment at nine.

GrandMattie, hope you get a satisfactory reply about your ‘interview’, they mustn’t appreciate how wonderful you are.
Llfl, your holiday sounds amazing.

I’m girding my loins to try and connect a printer (again) to my laptop and iPad. I used to be confident at things like that, but not any longer. The instructions always say it’s easy but I gave up on Friday. Have found a YouTube video so I’ll try again. I have loads of admin waiting to be printed.

I’ll come back later to read your posts. Have a good day all.

NannyJan53 Mon 03-Apr-23 07:17:14

Good morning from a frosty Black Country. It turned out very sunny yesterday afternoon, so hoping for the same today.

Just making chicken and vegetable soup from yesterdays chicken. That does us for lunch until around Thursday.

Monday morning walk, then I suppose I must tackle the ironing.

Wishing you all a lovely day

NanKate Mon 03-Apr-23 07:24:31

Morning Mick and All.

Cloudy and cold in South Bucks.

DS and 2 DGSs arrived last night for a 5 day stay😳 The house was full of laughter, muddy football boots and general merriment. I left them to watch Godzilla whilst I watched the Miami Tennis Final in bed on my laptop.

Hope DH and I survive the mayhem 🤞

NanKate Mon 03-Apr-23 07:26:11

NannyJ a portion of your chicken soup please and a slice of *Kitty’s cake too will sort me for the day. 👍👍

Whitewavemark2 Mon 03-Apr-23 07:27:48

Good morning from a bright South Downs. Dry weather forecast!

Yesterday began to hoe, weed, tie in and feed a bed, if time will try to finish off today then I can mulch. Trouble is I’m not sure if everything has survived this long cold wet winter. It is a group of agastache - blue boa - that are looking dodgy as well as no signs of the phlox yet. The echinacea seem fine as does a cream agastache - I need to be more patient. Must also start off the canna I have that will be planted in the bed also perhaps begin to plant gladioli, but plenty of time for them.

Housework today - concentrating on the conservatory to get it ready for the summer. The blinds go up this month.

Fish tray bake with pesto for dinner.

Greyduster Mon 03-Apr-23 07:32:47

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is dry and promises to be bright. I am going out with the Monday walking group this morning and then calling on my niece with something for her baby granddaughter. This afternoon the gardener who was supposed to be coming yesterday is coming - I hope! I had a long chat with one of my neighbours yesterday - we haven’t seen each other all winter. Seems we’ve both been hibernating! DD came over and we had a lovely, if rather late, lunch. It was nice to be able to start sitting in the conservatory again with the sun warming us.
Have the best day you can folks.

ShazzaKanazza Mon 03-Apr-23 07:33:17

Good morning Mick and everyone from North Yorkshire. It’s going to be another sunny day I think.

Yesterday we toured the coast stopping in Staithes and Sandsend and admiring views along the way. We didn’t get to Goathland so we are going this morning when we leave the B&B as we are only 20 minutes away and it will be less busy.
We are taking my Dad and step-mum for lunch before home as they live in York. Last night we enjoyed a most delicious Indian meal in Pickering.

Have a lovely day everyone and thoughts to those with illness and stress weighing them down 🌻🌻

Pittcity Mon 03-Apr-23 07:34:40

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Spring has sprung. The flood plain near us was doing its job so my walk yesterday was rerouted. Amazing how many children and dogs were enjoying the water.
DH is away and DS back at base. I will take the opportunity to get some spring cleaning done. Tomorrow is bin day so I can lose some items that DH won't miss.
I also need to go into the City centre to return yet another ill fitting impulse buy.
Love to all 🦩 x

GrannyGravy13 Mon 03-Apr-23 07:34:48

Morning all

It’s meant to be dry today, not sure if I am going to the gym or out with DD and GC, waiting for her to ring me.

Fingers crossed grandMattie hope the interview situation can be easily sorted.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 03-Apr-23 07:48:34

Good morning all from bright Harrogate
The warden has to be reasonable, but good luck with her GrandMattie
The picture I have of you in my head, is quite funny but imaginative, making your bed on your knees!!
I’m sorry your vertigo came back Marydoll and dampened your day.
Yesterday I went to church but the preacher went on a bit and I nearly missed my bus!
We had wall to wall sunshine yesterday while I did admin indoors. Today is my telephone day with a bit of housework thrown in.
Have the best day possible folks

brook2704 Mon 03-Apr-23 07:49:27

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve blue sky and the sun is shining- a lovely start to the week and the school Easter holidays
Sad about your good kind neighbours karmalady I hope a solution can be found that helps them out
Another quiet day planned today before our visitors arrive tomorrow. I’ll get the washing dried outside and maybe get chance to do a bit of gardening. Yesterday we opened up our conservatory after the winter too Greyduster and sat in the warmth looking out at the garden. One of my favourite places to sit at home with a cuppa and my kindle
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Gingster Mon 03-Apr-23 07:53:02

Good morning all and it’s another sunny day here in Essex.
Yesterday was beautiful and so warm ……. behind closed doors , but very chilly when you stepped outside. Got the washing dry too.

Dd , little gd and I had a jolly afternoon looking at old photos. DGD was fascinated to see her mum through the ages. She brought over her foot spa that Santa had brought her. After a long set up time she enjoyed relaxing and looking through the pics 🤣. Sooo therapeutic, she said (she’s 7) . 😉.

Today I’ll go to our U3A meeting and pay annual subscription (£15) (best value for money there is) and pay for a couple of trips I’ve booked.

Eldest DGD is coming back from Uni today. Can’t wait to see her. 🥰.

I hope no one on here is stuck at Dover or has family there. It makes you think twice about travelling! Poor children on school trips and poor teachers !

Enjoy your day and I hope the sun shines on you all. 🌞

BlueSapphire Mon 03-Apr-23 07:54:49

Good morning everyone from a cloudy Northampton, but set to brighten up later. Yoga this morning, first time for about 6 weeks. Should go to Knit and Natter, but am undecided at the moment.

A lovely afternoon yesterday in the spring sunshine watching England women rugby thrash Italy, The final score was 68-5 in front of a packed ground.

Would have been our 51st wedding anniversary today; happy memories tinged with sadness that DH is no longer here. But I am so thankful for the years we had together and the life that we shared. He lives on in my heart and in our children and grandchildren.

Hope Monday is kind to all.

Morning Mick, morning All from a sunny Berkshire. The cars are sparkling under a coating of frost.

We’ve had a hugely enjoyable weekend with very good friends. Excellent food, much laughter, chatting, wandering and general relaxation. I’m sad to be going home which is very unlike me. We’re making the best of the day, three stops on the way home. As Mr C says no one is waiting looking at their watch.

Good luck today grandmattie. Unfortunately the process will be governed by the rules of the development managing agent, not sure how much leeway the manager will have. 🤞 for common sense.

Wishing you all the best day it can be.
