Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but a dry start here in brackley this morning.
My usual routine at going to Bicester on the bus this morning, returning direct home for lunch .
What I have noticed waiting to get the bus in the mornings is the local traffic although the town as aby pass the vehicle numbers seemed to have dropped this past few years.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all from bright South Lanarkshire.

Beautiful tulips Mattie. Congratulations to your DGD Ash.
Get better soon Sar, how annoying for you to be ill when your family are visiting.

I’ve cards for Easter and birthdays to buy as well as eggs for the children. Other than that I can have a very quiet relaxing time.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Beautiful Easter handcrafts by you and your DGS ginny! I particularly like the daffodils - very clever x

Marydoll Tue 04-Apr-23 08:22:59

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow.

Rather late (for me) this morning, I awoke with a blinding headache and we have had no internet.

LLFL I travelled to Salzburg from Glasgow by train, when I was a student. I absolutely loved it!

GM I hope your DD manages to sort things out for you, The warden probably has someone on her back insisting everything is done by the book. Beaurocracy knows no compassion.
A sad time for you, but the bonus is that you will be much closer to your family.

We are off out early. We bought a floor lamp and table lamps ages ago, with bulbs with a five year guarantee. So far six have blown, due to power surges, so we are going to Braehead Mall to replace three of them this time. DH hates going there, therefore he will be plonked in Costa with a coffee and the papers.
I'm hoping the new TKMaxx has opened by now. grin

Wishing your DD a speedy recovery Kitty.

Have a good day, folks.

Morning Mick, morning All from a sunny corner of Somerset.

Back to normality today after some very enjoyable days away. Mr C will try to restore the car colour, currently a gentle shade of mud after navigating flooding lanes on Friday. Weed removal for a while for me before retreating to the computer, must sort tomorrows grocery order or goodness knows what we’ll get.

Congratulations to your granddaughter ash. Hope your daughter can smooth the path to your new apartment grandmattie. So many goodbyes for you, go gently. Beautiful decorations ginny. Sounds an excellent holiday ladylfl. Hope you’re better today sar.

Take care everyone. Hope Tuesday is kind to us all.

Morning from brilliant sunshine and frost in S Hants. MrJ had, hopefully, his last nurse visit yesterday to assess and dress his abscess remains.
Granddaughter at last on the slopes, not too far from Salzburg llfl.
Yesterday washing dried outside and a quiet voluntary stint, quiz night was a bit of a debacle.
I hope this daft situation is swiftly resolved gMattie 🤞
Garden today, last bits of trimming and spread some fertiliser around.

Multi it's so good to see you posting again.

My headaches are a combination of insomnia and those blooming heart pills. It will pass. (I hope).

Good morning from sunny Shropshire.

I have woken up for the first time in a week feeling I have the energy for the day ahead.

DH is going to mow the lawns this morning while I do house stuff then this afternoon we are going to upcycle a couple of dining chairs. The chairs live in the garage and are just brought in when the whole family visit and are starting to look a bit tired.

I am sure your daughter will sort things for you grandMattie🌹

Congratulations to the dancing granddaughters. My DGD is 7 and is at the start of her dancing journey. She is so enthusiastic, her dancing classes are the highlight of the week.

I am sorry you were unwell for your family visit Sar and hope you feel better soon💐

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Good morning from sunny Colchester. It was frosty when I put the bins out earlier. I have learned not to put them out the night before as something can unlock the food waste bin. My neighbour's waste was strewn across our shared drive. I cleared up and the binmen have been and gone.
Did anyone else have trouble getting on to Gransnet earlier? Our internet updated something in the night, so maybe it was that.
Tuesday is charity shop volunteering day, so I'd best get going.
Love to all 🦩x

Susan56 Tue 04-Apr-23 08:41:32

I am glad your DGD is finally on the slopes Jax.

The children from our local school were delayed for so long the teachers made the difficult decision to turn round and come home.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Looks like another nice day although yesterday was special.
I suggested to my df that she and I should sit in the garden and soak up the vit D. Then we visited a garden centre and finally a new born lamb who was being bottle fed in front of the fire.

Today I'm selling 2 of my potters wheels as I'm no longer teaching large classes I'm scaling down so that if and when I downsize it will be easier.

I love the Easter craft work Ginny

gMattie I can hardly believe the attitude you are getting. Let's hope DD or DAD will speak up for you.
Luckily it's the flat you are buying not the warden.

Get well soon Sar and Marydoll and any others feeling below par.

It's DGD 13th birthday today. She's on holiday so I'll not see her but to think that wee babe is a teenager. Where does time go

Have a happy day everyone

Hoping your DD1 is feeling a bit better soon Kitty 💐

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a beautiful blue skied Hull.

We are home from our trip to North Yorkshire. Alygran and Abitbarmy you live in such a beautiful area. We visited my grandmother’s grave in Goathland and found my great grandparents graves in another little village cemetary. My parents enjoyed the lunch we treated them to. It’s their 54th wedding anniversary today. I love seeing my Dad but I really wish he would get hearing aids as he’s as deaf as a post but he says they will make him feel old so Stepmum ends up having to shout to him. 🤷‍♀️

Have a lovely day everyone. Thoughts to those poorly or weighed down with stress🌻🌻

Whitewavemark2 Tue 04-Apr-23 09:04:22

Good morning from a sparkling South Downs. Absolutely glorious morning walk. April is the growing month and the wood floor is beginning to carpet itself, already the snowdrops leaves are hidden by cow parsley leaves. The lower shrub level is almost in full leaf.

I take nuts out to leave in strategic positions for the squirrels every morning and pleased to see them all gone from the day before. Today I had the feeling that something was following me, so stood quietly watching - magpies! With beaks full of nuts😄.

Today I shall garden, plant some lilies that should have gone in ages ago, and plan and prepare a bed at the back of the gravel garden which is very hot - facing south and sheltered. Outdoor carrots are up and summer cauliflowers and cabbages looking strong.

Aubergine cheese bake for dinner.

ShazzaKanazza Tue 04-Apr-23 09:05:46

Love the craft pictures ginny.

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Cancelled music club today as my throat and chest are burning after coughing solidly since Friday. A (literal) ray of sunshine yesterday as I sat in my sun trap at the back of the house and joy of joys, became too warm. Finished making Easter cards.

I’m planning a trip to Salzburg in June llfl with friend so will be interested to hear how you get on. Never been before.

Thoughts to all fellow gransnetters who are under the weather.

EkwaNimitee Tue 04-Apr-23 09:10:07

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle where it is currently 6C.
I had a pleasant coffee morning yesterday where I had an interesting chat with a new acquaintance and successfully avoided buying new clothes when I took a shortcut through M&S!
I was out in the garden after lunch, most things are exploding into life but a few never survived that week of sub-zero temperatures in December. A visit to the garden centres is imminent, I guess they will be well stocked up ready for the Easter trade.
Today will be spent catching up with housework and doing some admin plus reading. I may have resisted temptations in M&S but not in Waterstones where I managed to buy another book. That's two this week and they're not light fiction either.

I hope you enjoy lovely Salzburg LLFL. As for Melk Abbey, its situation is impressive but I must admit that I was a tiny bit disappointed. Although I knew it was baroque, I had a picture in my head of the grim mediaeval building from watching The Name of the Rose....

I hope you all have sun to enjoy and have a good day.

Kalu Tue 04-Apr-23 09:37:41

Good morning all from Glasgow where the sun has now broken through.

After a finally, successful visit to the bank yesterday I noticed Gerry Weber had a sale on. A skirt, trousers and a shirt in my size were too good to ignore. My kind of clothes shopping. 👍
GD2 will be dropped off soon as she wants to spend the day here and stay over tonight, the day couldn’t get any better.
Lovely Easter decorations ginny. A crafting day here too as GD and I are making an Easter wreath and we might steal your painted eggs idea, very pretty. Thank you for posting the photos.
Hoping your DD’s hospital stay isn’t too long kitty

Have a good day all whatever your plans.

luluaugust Tue 04-Apr-23 10:03:34

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Slow start this morning as I seem to have picked up the aches and pains I discussed with DFs at the weekend!!! A cup of tea with a friend this morning will hopefully sort them out.
gM I also guessed you were in Sandwich, I hope everything is sorted out, why on earth couldn't the Warden meet you when you looked at the flat, too logical I presume.
I hope the headache disappears soon Marydoll
The internet has been out here.
Best wishes to all

Blossoming Tue 04-Apr-23 10:49:33

Good morning all from sunny Lancashire 😎 There’s a beautiful blue cloudless sky and a distinct nip in the air. Spring cleaning will carry on today, the sunshine and lighter evenings are giving me a real energy boost.
Enjoy your trip out Marydoll hope you have a wobble-free day.

Have a good day all 🌻
