Great news GrandMattieh!
This made me quite teary - but smile too
Opinions on this crossword, please
Good Morning Everyone,
Its still dark here in brackley this morning but remains dry .
A small local early shop to get some items planning for the weekend .
I will do my usual trip to Bicester on the bus , paying the £2 single fare which will expire nationally at the end of June.
Take Care,
Mick
Great news GrandMattieh!
Lovely garden Wyllow
What a relief gMattie !
Thanks Kalu yes having a great GP is a blessing.
It used to be that familiar people retired as they were older than me.
Now they retire when they look young enough to be my children!
Thank you folks and that's the last two thirds, no wonder I need a gardener.
Phew and what a relief, GMattie
i have enjoyed reading all your posts. It is good afternoon from north yorks and am glad to be inside as it is raining and very chilly outside. Arranged with a friend to go for a pub lunch today, we had a voucher for 30% off mains and also had decided to have it as our easter outing. No doubt everywhere will be very busy from Friday onward, so we thought this would be a good idea. The lunch was fine but we know they do not do very good coffee so we left there and went on to our local Cafe Nero, where we had a treat of an apricot danish and coffee. It seems to be one of the few places that the danish does taste like a danish and not a poor copy of it. They know me there and are very good about bringing things over to the table for me , and today am very creaky and especially wrists and hands for some unknown reason so glad of the help. So had a happy time and am content to be at home this pm, as the queues to everywhere get bigger. Enjoyed the lovely weather for the past two days and so the rain will be giving the garden a good soaking which is good. Hope all your plans work out and you have a good afternoon
Late Good Morning to one and all. Had to go into town to chase up my prescriptions as I shall run out during the Bank Holiday weekend, and our surgery and Boots pharmacy are not known for being speedy . Should be ready tomorrow 🤞
We had coffee out, and shared a table with another couple. The husband has dementia and likes his routine of coffee, toast and marmalade, when in our small Waitrose.
Have also just seen that GrandMattie, has passed her interview. Phew, well done and here's hoping the moving in date comes soon.
Good news Grandmattie! Wyllow that is a lovely garden
Great news grandMattie🥳
Phew gMattie an unexpected hurdle jumped.
Well done GM! Isn’t it good when things aren’t as dire as you expected ☺️
Thankyou Wyllow - that’s lovely. Reminds me of the garden in our last house; I really miss it. Please, HQ can we have a photo facility on PM’s?? I know it’s been asked for many times.
Just hung up. Wasn’t an interview per de. Just asked question re. my dob, present address, then told me about the rules and regulations, pet rules, etc. I was very anxious for nothing! She also mentioned a coronation party. I commented that it was unlikely I should attend. She sounded surprised and assured me I would. 🤞🤞🤞🤞
So things are moving faster than I thought. Phew. But I’m not holding my breath until have an actual date.
Gwenisgreat1 ".....Mick I don't understand why you are paying for bus fares in England? Mind you I hope we can use the £2 fares when we are in North Wales soon....".
Perhaps Mick is younger than many of us who are eligible for a free bus pass.
Good Morning from a damp and dark Co Armagh
I can watch birds pecking under my bushes , there is a raised bed round the patio , about waist height in parts , so the base of the bushes provide a shelter for the Robin and Blackbirds , it’s fun to see them flitting in and out at eye level from my chair in the living room
I have been putting out porridge oats for the Robin , but I’ve stopped because the crows have been muscling in , they are making it a war area
granMattie will be in the throes of the “interview “ ! Prayers and best wishes for her ( and the interviewer) ! ! Xxx🙏🏼
Good morning from a damp Lancashire. No sunshine today, but at least the pond is now getting some much needed rain. I hope your interview goes well Grandmattie. Loving hearing of travels. Best wishes to all suffering illness, either their own or their loved ones.
Good luck with your ‘interview’ GM. 👸🏻
Good Morning all from wet and miserable Harrogate.
Yesterday I could not get on line - Virgin Media was not working!
Mick I don't understand why you are paying for bus fares in England? Mind you I hope we can use the £2 fares when we are in North Wales soon. If I'd been at that talk on safety, Ashcombe I would have just fallen asleep - yawn!
yesterday was a very busy day, the morning I spent at an art club, we had so many members we had to move to the main church hall (which some liked and some did not). In the afternoon I was picked up for coffee at Horticap, it's a lovely garden centre where a lot of the staff have Down syndrome and other learning disabilities.
Tomorrow I may not get chance to post, there will be a whirlwind in the house -DGS who will probably be here quite early! I'd better get on and read the rest of the posts.
Have the best day possible folks.
Good morning Mick and everyone from gloomy wet Carlisle, such a let down after yesterday.
Yesterday was a day of housework and admin for me though, no gardening. Today will be much the same, the admin consisting of me shuffling my savings around to get a better deal. All very boring really.
That's good advice from karmalady, grandMattie, I have wondered what they'd do if you ever became incapacitated.
I hope all goes well.
Do have a good day everyone.
Good morning all from a drizzly Glasgow.
We have yet to decide what today’s plan is as GD is still asleep. Typical teenager stage now but still a breath of fresh air when awake. 😄
Best wishes to kitty’s and Gingster’s DDs.
Good luck with your garden project Grey and hopefully, feeling brighter after yesterday’s, out of the blue, heavy skies feeling.
Not life threatening but still a buggeration having to wait so long for cataract surgery Grammaretto. Sorry to hear your lovely GP is retiring. Having a caring, understanding GP does help to lighten the load, something we are grateful for as DH is going through such a difficult time.
Hoping a good day is ahead for all whatever you are planning.
Good morning everyone from a grey and overcast Northampton, rain forecast later. I need to pop down to Boots on the bus, so I had better get my skates on and hope to miss the rain.
A busy day yesterday, finished tidying the grass in the morning, then a lovely health walk in the afternoon - followed by a blood pressure check, (which the nurse was satisfied with), and then a walk to Next to pick up an order.
I may or may not go to the well-being cafe this afternoon, depending on the weather. If not, I shall continue reading Hard Times - a novel well named as I am having a hard time reading it.....
Good luck for later this morning, grandMattie!
Hope all have a good day.
Grey skies after yesterday’s sunshine which was such a tonic. Nothing exciting planned for today apart from a trip to church to finish off our revamped children’s corner which is looking so welcoming and appropriate. Am awaiting delivery of various new jigsaws, colouring books etc and need to label our smart new furniture or I fear it will walk. The time when nobody would think of stealing from a church are long gone, sadly.
I am sure gMattie will charm the fiercest dragon in her interview and hope it goes well. Hope we all have a good day.
Good morning from a grey NE but it is dry.
Yesterday it was sunny all day but I did not leave the house because of my sore back.
SIL is coming to take me shopping and collect my prescription.
I am expecting a delivery between 11.20 and 12.20 so may need to delay departure.
DD is travelling to the UK today and should arrive in Newcastle late evening.
Have a good day whatever your plans.
I’m loving the pictures and reports from Austria.Thank you Jax and LLFL.
DH and I did a tour of Austria and Danube cruise for our honeymoon and back in the day I went skiing in Austria every January.Feeling nostalgic☺️
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Cloudy and damp here.
After an idyllic start to the week yesterday was a disappointment 😞
My pottery wheels were too heavy to move so the man who came to buy them, left them. Hope he'll try again another time with reinforcements.
I phoned the eye hospital to see where I am on the waiting list for cataracts surgery
I'm not! Not only that but there's another 46 weeks before I even have their assessment. 2 years after that.
I realise it's not life threatening but brings you down to earth.
I phoned my GP surgery to try to talk to my lovely GP only to find she retires this month but will phone me before she does. She was so brilliant when DH was dying and all through covid
I hope the interview goes well gMattie a shame you can't bring a cake.
It's DS and DGD birthdays today but I won't see either of them.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning from Shropshire. It’s raining again🤷♀️
DH did great work in the garden while I started packing for our few days away with the family.I somehow managed to cut the length of my thumb which literally knocked me sick.Today while DH has his haircut I will try and get some proper dressings and a waterproof thumb protector.
Best wishes to all under the weather.I hope your DD manages and enjoys today Gingster and hope your daughters health improves soon kitty.
Have the best day you can everyone🦩
