Good Morning Everyone,
Its still dark here in brackley this morning but remains dry .
A small local early shop to get some items planning for the weekend .
I will do my usual trip to Bicester on the bus , paying the £2 single fare which will expire nationally at the end of June.
Take Care,
Mick

Morning all from Vienna! After breakfast there is to be a coach tour followed by a walking tour. OH’s knees are causing him pain so we’ll skip the walking bit! OH has been here on business and I came here last year for a few days with our daughter. So a few hours on the boat beckons. Maybe reading. There is a gala dinner tonight and a string quartet will entertain us so we will be dressing up! GM, I do hope your moving problems are smoothed out asap. Have a good day.

grandMattie Wed 05-Apr-23 06:31:21

Good morning from a frosty E Kent. It is daylight and looks like we shall have a beautiful day.
Finally! I have, finally, got an appointment at 1130 for this interview. I suppose it’ll be by video link, but I haven’t been told.. 🤞🤞🤞for me please.
My T’ai Chi ladies gave me a generous voucher to IKEA sand a most interesting card, in the shape of a person in a movement, but made up of names and words. Most ingenious. I might frame it.
I’ve got friends coming to take out mattresses and a wall unit for the council to collect tomorrow. No charity wanted them…
I shall bake them a coffee and walnut cake and some of my famous Nutella brownies this morning.
Llfl, sounds like you are having a fabulous time.
May you have a good day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Ashcombe Wed 05-Apr-23 06:45:03

Good morning from a dry but overcast Torbay.

It certainly sounds like a lovely trip, Ladyleftfieldlover! Many years ago, we visited some of those places at this time of year but on a coach tour. I remember leaving Vienna in bright sunshine then encountering a blizzard as the coach driver eased his way around the hairpins down into Salzburg! Our safe arrival was acknowledged by a round of applause for him! Enjoy your gala night!

Yesterday's talk on personal safety from two police officers wasn’t much use. Many of us felt we already knew much of what was suggested and, regarding some issues, more! At times, they were downright patronising:- “Get your children or grandchildren to go online for you…..” 😡

Special thoughts for grandMattie at 11.30 a.m. That card sounds very original! A good idea to frame it: your first flat warming present.

Happy hump day! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Greyduster Wed 05-Apr-23 07:06:27

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. I forgot to draw the heavy curtains across the vertical blinds last night so the light woke me up this morning. Looks as if it will be a bright day. I had a bit of a strange day yesterday. I was going along quite nicely and then all of a sudden felt as if the sky had fallen in on me. I have no idea what triggered it. I was washing the car!
The gardener has given me a price for the work I want him to do. It’s a big job so not unreasonable. It will give me a blank canvas for a more manageable planting scheme going forward.
Library this afternoon.
Have the best day you can folks.

kittylester Wed 05-Apr-23 07:06:42

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire. The sky was beautifully streaked with pink earlier.

Ironing today!! Then a visit to the dressmaker to have some of my new trousers altered.

We visited DD1 in hospital yesterday. Her white cell count is still very low and she is extremely tired but in good spirits.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Grandmabatty Wed 05-Apr-23 07:07:54

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7° and wet. I think the rain has set in for the day. Grandmattie good luck with the 'interview'. Ladyleftfieldlover a lovely cruise, by the sound of it. Enjoy your gala dinner. Ash I would have been unhappy about being patronised like that!
Yesterday was full on. A trip to Aldi, the swings, playing in the garden and then the big park in the afternoon. My aunt popped in as well. Both boys were tired when I dropped them off at home. My job was done! I was pretty much done too..
Today I woke early for no good reason. I think my sleep pattern has changed again so I wake most mornings between five and six. I'm meeting a friend later for brunch. She teaches so the best times to see her are during holidays. Then I have a wine delivery due later too. Tonight's dinner will be the rest of the chicken curry I made last night. Have a good day all

BlueBalou Wed 05-Apr-23 07:12:21

Good morning, it’s a grey-skied start here on the hill in Wiltshire, forecast is rain. I so enjoyed yesterday’s sunshine, a real tonic.
I spent several hours yesterday faffing about sorting through my bedroom drawers to organise my jewellery (nothing valuable but some quite sentimental) . I have lots of pairs of earrings I never wear because they’re all jumbled up together.; now they’re in proper trays I can see what I have!
Today it’s ironing and I really must do some prep for my watercolour course next week.
I hope everything goes well with your ‘interview’ grandMattie, most peculiar in my opinion 😵‍💫
Have a lovely day everyone x

GrannyGravy13 Wed 05-Apr-23 07:26:40

Morning all

Good luck grandMattie , sounds like a fabulous holiday llfl

I feel exhausted I woke up at 1.30am and still awake 4 hours later. Off shopping with DD and GSs they are grilled weeds and need new shoes, clothes etc. I hope I last the course 🤣🤣

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Pittcity Wed 05-Apr-23 07:27:13

Good morning from sunny, frosty Colchester. A perfect winter's day in April.
We did that cruise Llfl and loved it. We went into Vienna on the underground with the chef and toured the markets and did the coach tour in the afternoon.
Usual Wednesday coffee meetup in the city centre this morning.
My GN problems yesterday were caused by nationwide trouble with Virgin media. Hope it's sorted as I'd like to do a bit on my family history this afternoon.
Love to all 🦩 x

Marydoll Wed 05-Apr-23 07:28:37

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where its 8°.

Vienna was on my bucket list, Llfl, sadly not to be. You sound as if you are having a great trip.

Yesterday's trip to Braehead was rather boring, apart from a dizzy spell in Clarks. Thank goodness DH was there.
I was happily admiring a pair of lilac sandals, until I saw the price tag, £72 for a couple of pieces of leather. 😱
I have totally lost touch with prices.
To add to my disappointment, TK Maxx hasn't opened up yet. sad

This morning I need to go down to church and put up some notices, then the hairdresser's. A haircut is long overdue, but I am terrified that all the head moving will trigger a vertigo attack.
It has got to the point that it is a mess is annoying me.
I usually book weeks ahead, but phoned yesterday for a last minute appointment, only to be told my favourite hairdresser was on holiday.
I quietly whispered, that I didn't want the owner to cut it ( she is very old fashioned), I hope she didn't hear me. 😚

Auntieflo, I was sorry to hear of your mishap with the car, I hope you find out, who did it.
Best wishes for all, who are poorly, especially Kitty and Ginster's DDs.

Good luck with your interview, GM

Have a pleasant day folks.

cornergran Wed 05-Apr-23 07:30:40

Morning Mick, morning All from an overcast corner of Somerset.

Thoroughly enjoyed being outside yesterday. Some weeds and winter casualties removed and waiting collection. House plants re-potted and some general tidying. Two washer loads dried, looks like I’m ironing this morning. Grocery order coming, not sure what the rest of the day will bring other than chicken and cauliflower curry for our meal.

Hope today is steadier greyd. I’m guessing your ‘interview’ will be along the lines of a relaxed chat grandmattie; 🤞 crossed for you here. Your talk sounds like one I attended some years ago ash, patronising summed that up too. Your cruise sounds interesting ladylfl.

Thinking of everyone finding life hard going. Hope Wednesday is kind to us all.

Gingster Wed 05-Apr-23 07:41:13

Good morning all and it’s another frosty one. Woken at 6.30 by next doors delivery from Sainsbury. Goodness knows what the driver was doing with those crates! 😤.

Vienna LLF. How lovely !

We’ll all be thinking of you at 11.30 GM. 🤞.

Today Dd, little gd and eldest gd and I are going on the train to Southend, playing crazy golf and having lunch somewhere. Maybe ending up on the beach for an ice cream. What fun!!!
I hope DD is up to it. She’s determined she’ll be fine! 🙏.

Kitty I hope your Dd improves daily. 🤞.

Sar take it easy now your girls have gone and hopefully you’ll feel better soon.💐.

greyduster a better day is hoped for you today 😉.

Take care all 🌷

NannyJan53 Wed 05-Apr-23 07:41:29

Good morning from a drizzly Black Country, after a gloriously sunny Tuesday.

Gym yesterday morning, then a quick trip to Merry Hill to collect white Sandals I had ordered online. Also bought a couple of pairs of joggers for when walking to the gym.

No real plans today, just go with the flow.

Good luck with the 'interview' gM as bluebalou sad, very odd, I am sure you will win whoever over1

Have a enjoyable day everyone

ginny Wed 05-Apr-23 07:41:37

Good morning everyone.
Lots to do today as we are off tomorrow for a long weekend with all the family, caravans and camping pods.

WI meeting this evening. We have all been told to make sure we have our handbags with us.

The flowers in the photo were one of the arrangements from the demonstrator at Flower club. I won it in the raffle. I’ll enjoy it today but as we will be away , I’ll pass it to a fried to enjoy over Easter.

Wishing a good day for all.

ginny Wed 05-Apr-23 07:42:24

Try again.

karmalady Wed 05-Apr-23 07:49:21

Good morning from s somerset. clouds and rain today but yesterday was glorious for the whole. day. A promise of things to come

GM you ask them what would happen if something were to occur to incapacitate you. Your interview needs to be a two way process, you are not on trial, really they are. Ask your solicitor if there is anything in the paperwork which means you could be made to leave.

A good day to everyone

brook2704 Wed 05-Apr-23 07:56:51

Good morning everyone from a grey and breezy Inverness, I can see the trees swaying quite a bit from my bedroom window
Hoping the interview goes well gMattie what a palaver!
Our visitors arrived safely yesterday and we all had a really lovely evening. This morning they’re going to drive over to Chanonry Point, a local dolphin watching spot on the Moray Firth, I hope they’re lucky!
Beautiful flowers Ginny well done in winning the raffle - enjoy your weekend away
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Taichinan Wed 05-Apr-23 07:57:16

Good morning all. It's back to the grey again on the Angus coast so therefore lovely to hear of your holiday Llfl for a bit of cheer.
I enjoyed my tai chi class yesterday - as I always do of course. After a few years of teaching only the 'advanced' it's interesting teaching people at an earlier stage.
Off out to lunch with my friend after a morning of housework - it's the kitchen's turn for attention today.
Have a lovely day everyone with all your little angels at home for their holidays - I shall be seeing two of my rather larger ones at the weekend x

Beechnut Wed 05-Apr-23 08:01:33

Good morning from Severnside. It has been raining.

I met my friend after swimming as we haven’t seen each other for a few weeks. Then an enjoyable time was spent in the garden weeding and cutting. As much as my back ached I ended with mowing the lawn and rewarded myself with a beer.
Today I’ll do some homeworking. I also have a plant to plant 💕
Good luck with the interview GM.

Have a good day all 🌼

ShazzaKanazza Wed 05-Apr-23 08:03:03

Good morning Mick and everyone from a dry but dull Hull. Rain is forecast later.

ginny the flowers are lovely. Enjoy your camping weekend.

grandMattie hope your interview goes well. 🤞

Kitty thoughts to your DD💐

At lunchtime I am picking up GS from his Mum’s house and bringing him back for the afternoon. He can help me put the Easter decorations up. DS is staying for tea when he picks him up.

Ash congratulations to your DGD I meant to say that yesterday. She sure has a talent x

Have a lovely Wednesday everyone. Thoughts to those not feeling too well or worried about family. 🌻🌻

Wyllow3 Wed 05-Apr-23 08:05:03

Morning from a dull S Yorks. disappointing after a lovely day yesterday but a warm sunny Easter weekend coming up.

Quiet day planned, greatly over did it yesterday. counselling Zoom later.

All the best with the interview, GMattie and bests for you daughter Gingster

Greyduster you'll never regret having some landscaping, had a major "re-do" 2 years ago and it looks fab. People coming to the house say, "the garden will sell it" (it will be on the move sometime in the next 12 months. I still need a gardener its so huge but less to do.

Stilllearning Wed 05-Apr-23 08:05:06

Morning from S Lanarkshire, rather grey at the moment but milder than it’s been lately,

Thinking about you this morning grandMattie, I’m sure you’ll be fine, hopefully it’s more of a welcome chat.

Also enjoying your holiday tales Lffl, you’ve got me thinking!

A runabout day for me today. I’m away for the Easter weekend with youngest DD and family so delivering/ posting Easter eggs, book tokens, flowers as appropriate, then my exercise class this afternoon. I am collecting one of my friends who has decided it is time to stop driving. It is a huge decision as she is fiercely independent but undoubtedly the correct one. Hard though.

Wishing everyone a pleasant day, as always, thinking about DDs and others who are needing support 🦩

Liberty Wed 05-Apr-23 08:05:12

Good morning from a slightly frosty but sunny Suffolk. What a glorious day here yesterday. I opened up the summer house and spent an hour or so in there reading the paper until the sun moved away and the chilly wind took over.

I finally dealt with the pile of ironing from our holiday in the Scillies. It is a job I dislike.

Off to my keep fit class in an hour and then planning to make a simnel cake this afternoon. I know the tradition is for it to be a Mothering Sunday cake but I’ve always made it for Easter with lots of mini chocolate eggs on top with the 11 marzipan balls.

I hope that those with worries about their own health or that of their loved ones find some comfort today and GM your interview goes well,as it surely will and this is the last hurdle you have to get over before your move.

Gala Wed 05-Apr-23 08:05:25

Good morning from a dull, damp & drizzly Sefton. I tell myself the garden needs it. A good day yesterday. New format exercise class survived, new blinds fitted, a full load of washing line dried - no chance today. Downside was the long queue at the fish van - it was very chilly in the shade & no success in tracking down mount board for my finished cross stitch. I like to frame my smaller pieces myself.
Zoom dance exercise class first thing followed by Pilates in a nearby town. Possibly lunch with my DD in L1 - if she remembers!
Good luck with that "interview" grandMattie.🤞
Take care all.
