Good Morning Everyone,
Still dark here in brackley but signs of wet on the ground maybe overnight frosts.
Today , a busy day as I have my Echo scan at the Churchill on my heart , I will bus it using 3 buses to get here.
The appointment as I have been should last 30 minutes , before I then do the return leg on the buses .
I hope to get back home mid afternoon .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning and good luck Mick, I hope everything goes well. It’s a very damp start here in Wiltshire.
Yesterday all the patio materials arrived, ready for them to be laid next week.
DDogs had a muddy charge around the dog field, they were really tired last night. DD and her DDog went home later, my DDog was sound asleep by then!
Today it’s Art club this afternoon, I will take DDog for an early dog walk then change the beds and clean through.
Nothing at all planned for over Easter then off to the art course next Tuesday.
Have a lovely day everyone x

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull. A rainy day is forecast today.

Best wishes for your echo scan today Mick.

grandMattie I’m pleased your interview went well yesterday.

I’m picking my grandson up from my sons early this morning. I’ll go there so son can get off to work and grandson can have a leisurely breakfast. It’s going to rain all day so not sure what we will do. I will pop him over to mums later. She is 80 today but due to her religion doesn’t celebrate birthdays. But I have got her some flowers anyway because I can’t go over empty handed.
We are looking after the little ladies tonight as well so a full on childcare day.

Enjoy your day everyone. Good luck with Drs or hospital appointments. Thoughts to those suffering stress and illness. 🌻🌻

Good morning from a wet E Kent.
Goodness, Mick, that’s some journey! I hope it all goes well for you. 🤞
My famous, much anticipated “interview” was a bit of a damp squib. I’m glad I did need to travel to Bristol for it! It was basically form filling and being told about what to expect once installed. She seemed to say I should be in “soon”.
I went to the solicitor to sign and return a form, also to ask fora firm date. Solid on holiday, but she’ll do it first thing Tuesday.
I have become “poste restate” for the buyers. It would have been courteous to ask first!
In the early evening, my lovely dog walker and his son came to carry furniture and mattresses out for the council to take today. Unfortunately, there has been a lot of overnight rain, the mattresses will be sodden. Not my problem…. I gave them a coffee and walnut cake for dad, and my famous Nutella brownies for the lad. They were declared awesome!
Today, dog walk (in the rain), and dinner with my Pakistani friend. The curries will be fabulous!
May your path through today E gentle. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning, damp at present but should be a spring day later

I hope that results are good today Mick

Bike ride today, on my e bike as I will be exploring new territory and don`t know what that incline is like. Everywhere around me there are hills, probably why the little town has never been flooded and I should end up with a nice view overlooking a river and be back for lunch.

I am a morning person After lunch is always rest time and slow-mo pottering. There is a rhythm in my day

Morning all from my cabin! We are speeding towards Budapest for our final full day. Home tomorrow. Last night’s Gala dinner was sumptuous. Our family WhatsApp group has been filling up with photos! Not just ours. Daughter is in New Orleans and elder son and his family are in the Highlands of Scotland. Have a good day.

Ashcombe Thu 06-Apr-23 06:49:48

Good morning from a dry Torbay with a forecast of sunshine, which will be good for the holidaymakers and traders.

It sounds like your travel arrangements are more complicated than the reason for going to the hospital, Mick! Good luck all round.

I’m glad your interview was just a formality by the sound of it, grandMattie. Well done for holding out for an online connection!

Yesterday afternoon, our Wednesday Club was enlivened by the company of two Ukrainian Drama students who turned up to offer their services as volunteers as they are part of the Prince’s Trust scheme. I was pleased to talk with them - their English was excellent - although one became tearful when she spoke of her father who is in the Ukrainian army. I’ve arranged for them to attend a rehearsal of our forthcoming play, due to be staged next week.

Yesterday, I should have thanked folk for the kind comments about DGD’s ballet success. It’s so lovely how supportive you all are.

Have a good day, everyone, whatever it brings!! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from a grey, damp Colchester. A few degrees warmer than yesterday.
Typical as I have bedding to dry and I am expecting DH and DS home later with mountains of laundry.
I'll need to grocery shop as they'll be hungry too.
We don't go big on Easter here so it's just going to be a relaxing weekend.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning Mick, morning everyone.

It is grey and drizzly here and I have to walk quite a distance from the car park to the venue for today's Memory Cafe.

DD1 is still in hospital and was very sick yesterday. She was moved to private room with a TV. Which is a bonus!! She felt better by the evening.

We have decided to reschedule a family get together on Friday. DS2 was unable to attend anyway and, with DD1 being ill, it seems sensible.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from Shropshire.Raining again.

Today I am going out for afternoon tea with my daughters and granddaughter.Grandpa is looking after the two boys.

Best wishes for today Mick.

Hoping that kitty’s daughter is improving.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Good morning from a drizzly South Downs. Back to wellingtons.

Yesterday I had a pleasant lunch with a friend. Caught up with each others news.

Sorting out the conservatory plants today - repotting, fresh compost watering and misting. Must get some feed, and scout around for a couple of new ones.

Then potter over to M&S to finish the Easter shop. My farmer is delivering the meat today including the Leg of lamb - I need one big enough to feed a dozen, grandsons now bring their girlfriends so the numbers add up.

We have a summer salmon recipe today - one of our favourites.

Enjoy Maundy Thursday everyone - is the king giving out 50p to everyone😄 is it a sovereign for every year of reign?

Grammaretto Thu 06-Apr-23 07:33:32

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I'm hoping for a dry day for the U3A walk. It's a coastal one .
Work began on the new community garden yesterday and I was pushing barrows and filling up raised beds.

I hope you asked the right questions gMattie at your interview. wink and don't discover anything dodgy later on.
I'll be volunteering at the shop tomorrow and possibly Sunday as well though I may visit DMiL
Have a pleasant day everyone.
Enjoy your bike ride Karmalady and the rest of your cruise LLFL
Mick I hope the echo scan goes smoothly

ShazzaKanazza Thu 06-Apr-23 07:33:39

cornergran Thu 06-Apr-23 07:36:31

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset.

Some batch cooking and dust removal this morning. Will help a neighbour retrieve camping equipment from her loft then settle to read I think. Nothing exciting.

Good news grandmattie Your journey will take much longer than the echo mick, hoping for a positive outcome for you.

Thinking of everyone with worries, hope Thursday is kind to us all.

Grandmabatty Thu 06-Apr-23 07:38:58

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7° and damp. Looks like it's brightening up though. Mick good luck with your test. What a palaver for you to get there! Grandmattie* I'm glad you passed the test! Shazza it sounds like a busy day for you. Lots of grandchildren care.
Yesterday I spent a lovely three hours blethering to a friend. Her, and her parents, have been very kind to me over the years. We two can chat for hours.
Today I have to go to town to pick up a ring which my friend who just died has left for my daughter. It was given to my friend by my parents when I got married and she was chief bridesmaid, so it's coming full circle really. I want to also buy an Easter outfit for the boys. Later on I'm going over to see the minister about my friend's eulogy. I'm not sure what I'll have for dinner. Possibly an omelette. Have a good day all.

Grandmabatty Thu 06-Apr-23 07:40:56

Kitty I'm sorry to hear how unwell your daughter is still. Best wishes.

brook2704 Thu 06-Apr-23 07:47:48

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s still cloudy and grey but a lot less windy
Hope all goes well for you today Mick
Yesterdays dolphin spotting trip was successful for our visitors, they got to see two at a distance and a few seals, not so much luck though with Nessie hunting! Today they’re meeting up with DD2 and family and they’re all off somewhere, I’ll be doing more food shopping and prep , tidying up a bit and I need to pop into town for a few things.
Pleased your DD is gradually feeling a bit better kitty, hope she can get out of hospital soon.
Hoping everyone meeting up with friends and family has a lovely time
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

baubles Thu 06-Apr-23 07:49:25

Good morning all from damp South Lanarkshire.

Yesterday evening our crochet and knitting group decorated the centre of our wee town for Easter. It was a miserable, rainy night for it and dark when we finished so I didn’t get any photos, I’ll try to remember tomorrow.

Today it’s childminding day with an extra one as it’s the school holidays.

I had a call yesterday from a lovely doctor from the haematology department at the hospital following my recent blood tests which were taken because of my back pain. He wants me to have a CT scan as I have elevated protein levels. It could be something or nothing so I’ll just wait and see what transpires. The wheels turn slowly.

Hope your DD feels better soon kitty.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Grandmachrisy47 Thu 06-Apr-23 07:52:35

Good luck for today,Mick.
Wet but warmer today. Forecast for light rain all day.
Second settee arrived on Tuesday and we’re pleased with it. Suits our room perfectly
We had to decamp to DD2 yesterday to look after dgd (8) and the ddogs. She welcomed us as if she’d not seen us for months, in reality only 6 days. The cuddles were tremendous.
Collected new printer ready for an expert to connect it today.
Glad your ‘interview’ went well gM, they are lucky to have you.
Your cruise sounds idyllic Llfl.
Thoughts with all who have worries, hope today brings better times.

Stilllearning Thu 06-Apr-23 08:00:54

Morning all from S Lanarkshire, bright here with lots of chirruping going on, nice start to the day.

Sorry to hear your daughter is feeling so rotten right now Kitty, I do hope the day brings continued improvement.

Long day ahead Mick, I hope it all goes smoothly.

Hair and feet being attended to early this morning then coffee with a friend this afternoon. In between a good house tidy is required as well as preparing for the weekend away.
Church this evening and Holy Week rolls on.

Yesterday I called up at the farm with small Easter gifts. DGD 2 is struggling to make a decision about which Uni. she will go to.
She was all set for one but was a bit put/disappointed off when she went for the introductory visit on Saturday.
My fingers are crossed that she makes the right choice for her.

Wishing everyone as good a day as possible🦩

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 06-Apr-23 08:01:42

Good morning all from cloudy Harrogate
Good luck with your scan and the journey to get there Mick. Glad your ‘interview’ was a success GrandMattie
Sorry your DD is so unwell Kitty hope she feels better soon.
Had a lousy night last night, I was kept away with a horrible pain in my lower leg. ( just before Easter) of course!! Today I have my DGS arriving soon. We have booked for him to go to soft play this pm so that should wear him out!
Have the best day possible folks

Aldom Thu 06-Apr-23 08:04:33

Sending you my best wishes Mick. Hope your heart has settled down. Getting to our group of Oxford University Hospitals by public transport is tedious and tiring isn't it. Some of the buses are 'bone shakers'. smile

Taichinan Thu 06-Apr-23 08:08:35

Good morning Mick, good morning all. It's 8°C on the Angus coast and I have turned my chair to face the west where the weather looks brighter and there's a patch of blue sky showing - much more cheerful than the damp grey murk we're currently sitting under!
That's some journey today Mick - hope it all goes to time and your ECG gives a good result. You'll be ready for a zzzzz by the time you get home.
Glad your interview went well yesterday grandmattie - you sound more up beat today, so the relief must be great!
Shazza your mum is younger than I am! It always surprises me to find I'm more than old enough to be mother of other grans 😄. Mind you my lovely young niece is 67 today and grandmother to four, so I don't know why I should be surprised!
It sounds as if there are lots of lovely Easter weekends planned, though I'm sorry your dinner has to be rescheduled kitty - I hope your DD feels better soon.
Tai chi again for me this morning - my happy place! Then a trawl round Tesco's before home for my usual Thursday afternoon watching Countdown and Escape to the Country from behind closed eyes 😴
Have a good day everyone x

Marydoll Thu 06-Apr-23 08:12:28

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 5°C.

Good luck for your scan Mick, you will be exhausted before you even get there!
In Glasgow, when offered a scan appointment, I have been often asked which hospital suited me better, to save a complicated journey. It helps to make life less stressful, we have seven hospitals to choose from.

Yesterday, I managed to get a last minute hairdresser's appointment. I had been putting it off because of the vertigo episodes, but my hair was a mess! My fears were realised, when after a back wash, my vision was distorted, just like when I used to have migraines. Fortunately it soon passed.
The hairdresser spent the whole time, telling me about her recent marriage break up, her husband's drink driving ban and other dreadful things going on in her life.
Feeling so sad for her, I came out of there, counting my blessings.
I got home to a phone call from the Parish Priest, telling me the parish website was down and asking for help. 🤔🤔🤔🤔
It's so long since I managed our school website, that my brain hurt, thinking about how to sort it!
No wonder I dozed off later in the conservatory!

Today we have Dollie and are planning a trip Doon the watter to Largs. It appears that she is beside herself with excitement, especially as she has no idea what our plans are.
Neither have we, it depends on the weather. However a fish supper may be on the menu!.

Gbatty, I was at the funeral of a former teacher the other day and heard the loveliest eulogy, I have ever heard. Her two teenage great grandsons, with voices like an angel sang, I had tears running down my face. I have never heard such beautiful singing. I hope your meeting with the minister isn't too upsetting.

Hoping your DD has a better day Kitty and also good wishes to the other poorlies. Safe journey home, Llft and anyonelse travelling.

Enjoy your day, whatever your plans.

Foxygloves Thu 06-Apr-23 08:16:24

Good morning all
Miserable looking day here but I have just seen this picture which I hope will bring a smile to our faces.
Wishing you well Mick and I hope you don’t have to wait too long for results.
Gentle thought to all who are poorly or worried, or have poorly children or grandchildren. It’s so hard.
Hope this little chap can warm your hearts .
