Good Morning Everyone,
Still dark here in brackley but signs of wet on the ground maybe overnight frosts.
Today , a busy day as I have my Echo scan at the Churchill on my heart , I will bus it using 3 buses to get here.
The appointment as I have been should last 30 minutes , before I then do the return leg on the buses .
I hope to get back home mid afternoon .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from coastal West Sussex. After a dull start the sun has broken though. I am looking forward to some time in the garden and at the allotment.

We went with visiting DD and family (two DGS’s), plus eldest DGS (17), to the Historic Dockyard at Portsmouth. We all enjoyed seeing the Mary Rose again with additional features in the exhibition since we last visited. DSiL was disappointed that The Victory is encased in a protective wrap while undergoing restorative work and still hasn’t got its masts on but they all enjoyed The Warrior. My step count was over 11,000 🙂

Hope your Echocardiogram goes well and helps to progress your treatment Mick. And I hope the buses run to time. Those questioning why Mick has to pay the £2 fare, I think he explained before that it means he can set off earlier in the morning than his free bus pass would permit.

Kitty, I hope your DD feels better soon. Thoughts also with Gingster and DD.

Hope also for better health soon for Holly and Sar.

The sky is blue now so I must get out there 🌞

Good morning all from Glasgow. Dry today with patches of blue sky.

DH has an appointment at the NV hospital this afternoon for 2 CT scans, throat and lungs. Hopefully, no change is the outcome. Hoping too your results are favourable Baubles.

Your DD will be more comfortable in a private room kitty and she continues to feel brighter today too.

Best wishes to all for a pleasant day and a better day for those with whatever worries they are dealing with.

Good morning from a grey W Kent. Off to supermarket this morning and gardener coming this afternoon. He was supposed to come this morning but one of his best clients who is 92 is moving away today and he wants to say goodbye. Successful trip round TKMax yesterday where I found a lovely grey striped top (better than it sounds) followed by tea and cakes.
Good luck with the travelling and appointment Mick
Glad all went well with the interview gM and best wishes to the poorly DDs and other struggling along.

Georgesgran Thu 06-Apr-23 09:35:07

Good morning from Durham. It’s grey, but not cold. DGS1 had an early morning - he’s used to it. We are going out soon, then I’ll take him home 4ish.
Good luck with your appointment Mick - what a trek though.
On the home straight now gM
Hoping the DDs improve Gingster and kitty - we’d swap places if we could?
Best wishes to all. X

Greyduster Thu 06-Apr-23 09:29:00

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire. Hope the appointment goes well Mick. As Wyllow says, it’s grey but at least it’s dry at the moment. If it had not been for DD “pocket dialling” me I would probably still be asleep! I slept very badly last night - read for most of it. Poetry group at the library yesterday was rather fun. I read some of my stuff which seemed to be well received. I don’t have a very large “body of work” yet though - just a large body that doesn’t do much work! They’re a very jolly group. I am going to do some gardening today if it stays dry.
Hope your DD feels better soon, Kitty.
Have the best day you can folks.

Blossoming Thu 06-Apr-23 09:23:28

Good morning all from sunny Lancashire. Another lovely spring day. I’m struggling with my vision this morning, it may be a day indoors but I have plenty to keep me occupied.

I hope all goes well with your procedure today Mick.

Sounds like your move is on the cards GrandMattie, all hurdles jumped over and hoops crawled through.

Hope your daughters are feeling better soon Kitty and Gingster. My nephews used to love growing sunflowers and had quite a competition over whose grew the highest.

Enjoy your day out Marydoll, safe journey to all travelling.

Sending healing vibes your way Sar53.

Have the best day you can all 🌻🌻🌻

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle where it is 8C currently. It rained all yesterday, quite heavily in the afternoon and evening. I think it's set fair for the Easter weekend....
I busied myself with housework and admin yesterday. Admin consisted of moving my savings around the bank, what a tedious process that was! Should be earning me more interest now though it won't be keeping up with inflation. I also booked a holiday for November. I had thought of going at the end of this month but decided abroad would be too hot and my garden would be nicer. Plus November is my most detested month weatherwise and best avoided.

Today, the ironing and then the garden, hopefully.

You should enjoy Budapest LLFL, an interesting and beautiful city. The wonderful Parliament building is spectacular from the river.

My very best wishes to your DD, kitty. I hope better times are coming soon for her.

And the best possible day to you all.

Sar53 Thu 06-Apr-23 09:09:06

Good morning from a very damp, grey Essex by the sea.

I'm still unwell, I haven't had a chest infection like this for about 10 years. I was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis back then and feel that this might be a flare up.

DH is going overnight on his friends boat so I have a couple of days to do nothing.

Thinking of all with worries and illness. Hopefully a peaceful Easter beckons. xx

BlueSapphire Thu 06-Apr-23 08:54:07

Good morning everyone from a very damp Northampton. No need to go out today - no dance classes as our teacher is on holiday, so a gentle day at home. Perhaps I shall catch up on some jobs, perhaps not....

Popped down to Boots and Next yesterday morning, and had a coffee in M&S, where I bumped into a teaching colleague I hadn't seen since before Covid. We had a good chat and caught up on all the news about other colleagues.

While I was in M&S I had a text to say that they had my order, so I duly collected it - some shorts for my cruise in the summer. Not tried them on yet.

When I got home I rang the surgery, as I have been worried about a sore and inflamed eye that I have had for a week or so. Despite hot compresses and bathing, it has just got worse. To my surprise I was offered a face to face appointment for the afternoon. Jumped on the bus and off I went; saw the lovely doctor who looked after me when I was poorly during Covid, and she diagnosed an eye infection and prescribed an antibiotic ointment. She also sorted out another little problem. I made sure to thank her for the care she had shown me previously.

Thinking of those with worries and cares - may they be resolved before long.

Alygran Thu 06-Apr-23 08:53:26

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Grey and damp today.
I had a call yesterday from the NHS appointment service to fix my macular degeneration appointment. The first time I can be seen is September. It was supposed to be 6 weeks…..My urgent dermatology appointment, arranged last October, is in June. I guess these are important but not urgent.
Today I am meeting former colleagues for lunch. I’ve not seen them since 2019 so we should have lots to catch up with.
Hope all the appointments, travels and grand parenting go well today. Have a good day.

hollysteers Thu 06-Apr-23 08:52:05

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening northwest coast.
After six days of violent coughing, my sides are aching and it’s taken it out of me but will venture out today for some necessary things.
Cancelled so much this week, it’s a drag…
Hope your appointments work out well Mick, thoughts to Gingster and anyone with worries.

GrannySomerset Thu 06-Apr-23 08:44:26

Greyish and dampish in my bit of North Somerset so not much chance of getting into the garden though lots of daffodils flowering and tulips ready to burst forth so it looks OK from the house.

Thinking of Mick and hoping his complex travel goes to plan; otherwise lots of plans being laid up and down the country for the weekend. I have to do a big shop for DD and co arrive tomorrow and there is a difference between catering for one old lady and three healthy adults.

Wyllow3 Thu 06-Apr-23 08:41:44

A grey day in S Yorks.

Going for coffee and cake with a Quaker friend this morning. My lovely cleaner is coming too.

All the bests with the procedure Mick and continuing good wishes for DD, kittylester thank goodness she has her own room.

Take care now poorlies and enjoy meet ups and grandchildren all.

Gingster Thu 06-Apr-23 08:24:44

Good morning from a dank Essex. Where has that lovely sunshine gone?

Yesterday was very good with our adventure. Train journey, crazy golf and lunch out. DD managed well but we didn’t make it to the beach. She was very tired and achey by the time we got home. Eldest gd 20and youngest gd 7 ( sisters) love being together especially now, as they don’t see much of each other.

Bowls club today and then I’m going to buy little primulas (so pretty) instead of Easter eggs. The children have so many and we are doing a hunt at DS1’s tomorrow, so we all agreed ‘No big Eggs this year’. I’ll buy sunflower seeds as well. But….. what to get for the boys (almost 17). 🤔. .

Good luck with your travelling today Mick.
Enjoy your last cruise day LLLF. 🛳️.
Get well wishes for your Dd Kitty . These girls are such a worry, aren’t they! ❤️.

Take care all 🌷

Grammaretto Thu 06-Apr-23 08:24:27

ginny Thu 06-Apr-23 08:22:39

Good morning. Just a few more bits to load into the caravan and then we’ll be off to Derbyshire and will join DDs and families.
Big pot of Chilli ready to feed us all this evening and lemon cake for after.

Kind thoughts to all with worries and illnesses to deal with.
Safe journeys wished for travellers.

Gala Thu 06-Apr-23 08:17:11

Good morning from a currently bright & sunny Sefton although the bit of sky I can see is an ominous shade of grey.
Zumba class in the Parish hall this morning then a quick visit to the retail park..... with a quick detour into TKMaxx. Like Marydoll I can't resist. No plans for the rest of the day.
Hope your day goes as planned Mick. 3 buses - an awkward journey for you.
Now that the " interview" is over grandMattie sounds like it could be full steam ahead for your move 🤞.
Thoughts & ((hugs)) for those with worries & struggles. Wishing all a good day.

Foxygloves Thu 06-Apr-23 08:16:24

Good morning all
Miserable looking day here but I have just seen this picture which I hope will bring a smile to our faces.
Wishing you well Mick and I hope you don’t have to wait too long for results.
Gentle thought to all who are poorly or worried, or have poorly children or grandchildren. It’s so hard.
Hope this little chap can warm your hearts .

Marydoll Thu 06-Apr-23 08:12:28

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 5°C.

Good luck for your scan Mick, you will be exhausted before you even get there!
In Glasgow, when offered a scan appointment, I have been often asked which hospital suited me better, to save a complicated journey. It helps to make life less stressful, we have seven hospitals to choose from.

Yesterday, I managed to get a last minute hairdresser's appointment. I had been putting it off because of the vertigo episodes, but my hair was a mess! My fears were realised, when after a back wash, my vision was distorted, just like when I used to have migraines. Fortunately it soon passed.
The hairdresser spent the whole time, telling me about her recent marriage break up, her husband's drink driving ban and other dreadful things going on in her life.
Feeling so sad for her, I came out of there, counting my blessings.
I got home to a phone call from the Parish Priest, telling me the parish website was down and asking for help. 🤔🤔🤔🤔
It's so long since I managed our school website, that my brain hurt, thinking about how to sort it!
No wonder I dozed off later in the conservatory!

Today we have Dollie and are planning a trip Doon the watter to Largs. It appears that she is beside herself with excitement, especially as she has no idea what our plans are.
Neither have we, it depends on the weather. However a fish supper may be on the menu!.

Gbatty, I was at the funeral of a former teacher the other day and heard the loveliest eulogy, I have ever heard. Her two teenage great grandsons, with voices like an angel sang, I had tears running down my face. I have never heard such beautiful singing. I hope your meeting with the minister isn't too upsetting.

Hoping your DD has a better day Kitty and also good wishes to the other poorlies. Safe journey home, Llft and anyonelse travelling.

Enjoy your day, whatever your plans.

Taichinan Thu 06-Apr-23 08:08:35

Good morning Mick, good morning all. It's 8°C on the Angus coast and I have turned my chair to face the west where the weather looks brighter and there's a patch of blue sky showing - much more cheerful than the damp grey murk we're currently sitting under!
That's some journey today Mick - hope it all goes to time and your ECG gives a good result. You'll be ready for a zzzzz by the time you get home.
Glad your interview went well yesterday grandmattie - you sound more up beat today, so the relief must be great!
Shazza your mum is younger than I am! It always surprises me to find I'm more than old enough to be mother of other grans 😄. Mind you my lovely young niece is 67 today and grandmother to four, so I don't know why I should be surprised!
It sounds as if there are lots of lovely Easter weekends planned, though I'm sorry your dinner has to be rescheduled kitty - I hope your DD feels better soon.
Tai chi again for me this morning - my happy place! Then a trawl round Tesco's before home for my usual Thursday afternoon watching Countdown and Escape to the Country from behind closed eyes 😴
Have a good day everyone x

Aldom Thu 06-Apr-23 08:04:33

Sending you my best wishes Mick. Hope your heart has settled down. Getting to our group of Oxford University Hospitals by public transport is tedious and tiring isn't it. Some of the buses are 'bone shakers'. smile

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 06-Apr-23 08:01:42

Good morning all from cloudy Harrogate
Good luck with your scan and the journey to get there Mick. Glad your ‘interview’ was a success GrandMattie
Sorry your DD is so unwell Kitty hope she feels better soon.
Had a lousy night last night, I was kept away with a horrible pain in my lower leg. ( just before Easter) of course!! Today I have my DGS arriving soon. We have booked for him to go to soft play this pm so that should wear him out!
Have the best day possible folks
