Good Morning Everyone,
Its just twilight here in brackley and dry outside.
Today being treated asa Sunday will see a small local shop and then stay in.
As to my visit to the Churchill all went OK , I hopefully will have the surgery done in May sometime .
They told to take all my medication regardless and to exercise as much as possible.
Take Care
Mick
PS Bus connections worked OK both ways despite more vehicles using roads for the get away

Good morning from a dry E Kent. The moon was very bright when I went downstairs at silly o’clock, much further south than I expected.
I’m glad all went well yesterday, Mick.
It rained most of the morning them most of the evening. I had dinner with my Pakistani friends, and one of their neighbours. Delicious food, nice company.
DD called the solicitor and cornered her into giving an approximate moving in date, 28th April, but I’m not holding my breath. DD has said I could stay with her for that time, I feel very anxious about overstaying my welcome…
A young friend is coming to dinner tonight to help me with my freezer contents, venison steaks!
I have always found Good Friday difficult, worse since having sons, and almost impossible since Philip died. Not a happy day for me today.
Due to various transactions involving my late mother, I saw my younger sister’s passport photo. I haven’t seen or spoken to her for some 20 years, but was absolutely horrified to see how badly time has treated her. She looked like a bag lady in her 90s; she’s in her early 70s.
I hope today is kind to you and yours. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩❤️

Morning all from Budapest. We are flying home today. It’s been a good holiday but wish we could have stayed longer in each place. Have a good day everyone.

Good morning, all, from a fine and dry Torbay, with another sunny day in prospect.

I’m glad you have a date for your surgery, Mick and that you have some company for part of today, grandMattie; it is a poignant day indeed.

Thoughts with those who are burdened with worries of any kind. ✝️

Good morning Michael and all GNs. Good that your hospital visit went well Mick. The sun is rising in South Yorkshire tingeing the clear sky with an apricot glow. After a sleepless night I was tired yesterday but did some housework and managed to get a bit of gardening done, weeding, and pruning the lavenders that DH grew from seed a few years ago. He won the seeds at a church fete and was determined to grow them. I teased him that he was wasting his time, and ended up with egg on my face! He was no gardener and they were his pride and joy. I may have a go at the front rockery bed today, and make some chocolate cupcakes.
Have the best day you can folks.

Morning all

DD and her boys are coming here for breakfast so I need to move.

Wishing you all a peaceful Friday 🙋‍♀️🦩

Good morning from a sunny South Downs.

Shopping in Marks today - I had intended to go yesterday but time ran out. I need bits and pieces of food for the family meal on Monday.

Potted up some fuchsias yesterday to grow on for a couple of summer containers.
Summer cabbage growing in the greenhouse are beginning to heart up nicely and one is ready to pick. They are totally untouched by any predator so are looking splendid.

Must get on as dog is reminding me of the time. Tea needs drinking.

Enjoy a peaceful Good Friday everyone. Oh I was wrong about the sovereigns reign yesterday it is his age😄😄

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 0°, clear with a thick frost. I'm not feeling at my best as I had a dreadful night's sleep. Lots of pains in my feet and hands. That, coupled with anxiety made for an unhappy night. Have a good day all.

Marydoll Fri 07-Apr-23 07:18:49

Good morning all from Glasgow, where its a chilly -1 °C. Mr grumpy, aka Victor Meldrew, aka DH, is playing golf, I hope he stays out for hours!! I think he is overtired after yesterday.

That's good news about your surgery Mick and that they are happy to go ahead with it.
Good advice about the exercise. I am gradually building up my stamina by walking. It's not easy, but I am determined to get back on track.

I had a very restless night, despite a very busy day yesterday and plenty of bracing sea air. It was pretty chilly in Largs. We had an absolute ball with Dollie, who talked non stop for five hours. (I wonder where she gets that from?) I picked up a £150 fur coat for £29 in a closing down sale and I seriously considered putting it on!

There were a few stressful moments. A spider appeared as we were driving down a contra flow on a busy country road, with no place to stop. Dollie is terrified of spiders, and was screaming at the top of her voice. A very stressed DH
had to make a detour into a housing development, so that I could find the now missing spider, Dear reader, I lied and said I had dealt with it. wink

Many grandparents had the same idea as us and it was very busy.
Dollie was happily going along in her scooter, when papa warned her not to go through a very large puddle. She ignored him, went through it, hit a hole and came off the scooter. She was soaking wet and quite a bit away from the car! I was more concerned about what DIL would say about the now filthy, soaking wet, new trainers. wink
I used my teacher voice to tell her that she needed to do what papa told her. The result, floods of tears, because this was the first time ever, that gran had told her off.

She is such a sensitive wee soul. Her mum asked us to talk to her about DIL2's forthcoming baby. Dollie had got it into her head that when Babydoll (now going to be a C-section) is born, her gran and papa would no longer love her. I was in tears when she told me that she thought we wouldn't bother with her if the new baby was here at the same time.
It seems that she has been worrying about this for weeks. 😢

A busy day planned today. I need to do a Sainsbury's shop and then open up church for the Good Friday service. It will be packed to the seams.
Last night at church, so many people came to tell how happy they were to see me back. I was quite touched.

Baubles, I hope you get your scan soon and Kitty's daughter is improving. 💐

Safe journey, Llfl and all who are travelling.
Have a pleasant day, folks.

Morning Mick, morning All, a sunny start to our corner of Somerset.

Dreadful night but will ignore the tiredness and head out for a beach walk before it’s too busy. Suspect an afternoon nap will follow.

Can you rest today grandmab? Pleased yesterday went to plan mick.

Go gently everyone.

Georgesgran Fri 07-Apr-23 07:31:41

Good morning from Durham. It looks set for a beautiful, but chilly day.
A couple of days with DGS1 left me exhausted - I must be getting old - so an easy day for me. In fact, I’m still in bed!
Might hit the garden later, then finish the latest Vera book.
💐gM - almost there.
Best wishes to all.

Pittcity Fri 07-Apr-23 07:32:21

Good morning from sunny Colchester. I'm glad it's going to be mild and dry as DH and DS have left a pile of laundry by the machine.
We need a bit of food for the weekend and I hope the boys will tackle a dripping tap in return for laundry services.
DH is taking DGS1 night fishing later.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning all from a bright but chilly North Leicestershire.

DD1 is out of hospital though still neutropenic. She is planning a walk with DS1 in some local woods!! Hey ho!!

I have to nip to the butcher's and Waitrose. Then hoping to sit down while awaiting the next hiccup to arrive.

Have the very best day possible everyone.

Good morning from a gloriously sunny village in Wiltshire, what a very welcome start after yesterday’s torrential downpours.
Art club was great fun yesterday, such a fabulous group of people it’s a real tonic.
Today a bit of weeding (actually quite a lot of weeding 🙄) because everything is growing quickly, and sorting out my pots.
Hugs to anyone who needs one, I hope you have a lovely Easter x

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. There's a frost on the ground but sunny.
Yesterday was fun. A coastal walk with U3A but I took my car as we needed another.
I knew we were to meet at the Costa carpark so set my phone on Google maps having never been there before. Realised too late we were being taken to another Costa with no carpark.

Whoops! Thankfully we contacted the others and waited by the sea for them to catch up.

Sparky the electrician came at 10.30 pm to fix the boiler in the granny flat as my lodger has no heat or hot water. Luckily it leapt into action when it saw him coming. Another house problem to deal with though.

My Gaelic teacher is supping with me tonight.

Sorry grandmabatty you aren't well.
Things are going better for you Mick, and gMattie and for Marydoll 😊

Hoping Baubles and kitty have a worry free Easter.

Safe journey LLFL and others on the move.
Happy Easter everyone.
Slaite mhath!

Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
Good to hear everything is in order for your op next month Mick.
Hope you enjoyed your spell in Largs Marydoll and Dollie was OK after her fall. Haven’t been there for over 40 years! Is Nardinis still there?
Had a great day with DGS yesterday he’s such a poppet. We took him to soft play in the afternoon, he was exhausted and fed by the time DD came to collect him. (he wasn’t the only one exhausted).
Probably go into town this morning
Have the best day possible folks

Abitbarmy Fri 07-Apr-23 07:59:15

Good morning all from a thankfully sunny North Yorkshire. Enough rain now! Cautiously good news yesterday re DSi scan and her bowel cancer. It hasn’t spread around her body so that’s an enormous relief. They will look at the lymph nodes when doing the operation in a couple of weeks so will then find out if it’s necessary to have chemo. Today I will ice the cake I made yesterday with some butter icing and mini eggs and do a bit on the allotment maybe. Hope everyone can enjoy the day today and has some sunshine.

Good morning everyone it looks like it’s going to be a promising day today from the east coast of Fife I have a view to die for across the Firth of Forth . I’m off to my local farm shop this afternoon with my carer we’re both going for lunch of nachos and cheese. I’ll also be changing my credit card PIN number which I’ve been meaning to do in age’s since I lost my dh. We’ve had such a good life together I’m going to post a photo of where we have travelled to see if you can guess where we’ve been.

Have a good day everyone I hope you’re as blessed as I am flowers

Good morning from a sunny West Kent. DB arrives today for the weekend and we hope to see the family at some point.
Glad the results were good Mick
Marydoll Scotland and spiders a bit of a R Bruce moment!
Very best wishes to all

Good morning all from a very bright and sunny Suffolk. Yesterday started wet and dreary but the afternoon changed to a warm and sunny one.

It was too wet for our gardener to cut the grass so he spent most of the day chopping up the huge ash tree that had been felled by the Council a couple of months ago. The roots were beginning to rise a little from underground and if toppled it would have brought down the power lines causing mayhem to us and a couple of neighbours.

We are hosting DS and family for lunch on Monday rather than Sunday as eldest DGD who has a weekend job at a local pub restaurant, has been asked to work. Thinking of potential tips she has agreed to work all day….the driving lessons savings account will benefit.

Hoping today is a peaceful one for all.

Morning from sunny and very frosty S Lanarkshire.

I’m off first thing to put my car into the garage, it’s sounding like a tractor so I think a new exhaust is required, they did say that was probable when it got its MOT six months ago.
A long walk back home from dropping it off, so thank goodness it’s not raining. I am away later for a few days so it’s a good time to have it repaired.

DD2 and DGD3 came over yesterday since I won’t see them over the weekend and that was lovely. I was fulminating over over the poor/plain wrong language used in recent posts on Sky news reports and DGD laughed and said her school friends love to hear of my outrage over grammar etc! I’m sure it’s not just me ladies!😂

Very glad to hear of your positive hospital visit Mick, you were due some good news.

Wishing everyone the best day possible🦩

GrannySomerset Fri 07-Apr-23 08:19:38

Glorious morning as I finish preparations for DD and family arriving this evening. Am having lunch with a very old friend who is visiting her son locally and am so looking forward to seeing her and her children. It must be four years since we were last together though we speak frequently. The icing on the cake is that her son is chauffeuring me so I don’t have to cope with central Bristol traffic and parking. I am officially an old lady.

Hope the sunshine lasts and brings a good day for everyone.
