I knew!
This made me quite teary - but smile too
Opinions on this crossword, please
Good Morning Everyone,
Its twilight and also dry this morning here in brackley .
Today , I will get the bus to Bicester for a couple of hours before returning later to watch cycling on TV.
Usual Saturday Chinese Take Away later.
Take Care,
Mick
I knew!
Marydoll the previous message was for you!
OH got his hair cut at your hairdresser this afternoon. They knew who he was! We’re off home early tomorrow- where’s my eye mask?
Showers and sun in SE, heating on and off!
GrannyGravy13
I sympathize, not a good time for me also.
Have a good Easter everyone,
especially those of us spending it on our own.
Borrheid, so happy for you. 🥰
Sending gentle hugs and much ❤️ GG13 at this sad time, hoping you’ve some lovely memories of your dear mum to think back on x
Late to the party today.
8th and 9th of April are not good for me or my family. I spent all day on the 8th sitting with my darling Mum in the Hospice. Went home to shower, change and grab an hours sleep only to get the phone call that she had died early morning on the 9th. Six years tomorrow and I miss her so much.
Enjoy your Easter celebrations, pits will be subdued, DD and partner will come for a late lunch and reminisce.
Have a good day folks 🙋♀️🦩🐣
Many thanks for all your kind thoughts.
My son was going to stay, but instead, after hearing of my condition, just picked up his parcels (I’m the delivery depot as have an open porch) and stayed for a chat outside like the covid days 😁
Morning from just outside Glasgow! I made it to visit my mum. Had to wear an eye mask all the way from Kent to block out “visual stimuli” which sets off my dizziness. Marydoll Im looking over to TK Maxx and thinking of you! Stayed at the Premier Inn Linwood last night and leaving early tomorrow- mission accomplished. I know I will have after effects when the adrenaline wears off but it will have been worth it to see my lovely mum ( aged 91!). I missed her party last year and again tbis year so this trip was really important to me . Have a great day, Im off to buy the makings of afternoon tea to take to mum this afternoon.
Hollysteers what a bu**er! Look after yourself and take it easy.
Hot steam inhalations is my best advice.
ie pour very hot water into a mixing bowl on your kitchen table wearing a big towel over your head, covering you and the bowl,
breathe in the steam.
Good morning everyone. It’s another beautiful sunny day here in Lancashire. I’m taking the opportunity to line dry the washing.
The new pond is really taking shape and the birds are loving it. Mr. B has rigged up 2 cameras to watch the pond and the birdfeeeders so we can see what’s happening on screen. The resident blackbird is spending a lot of time cooling down in the water.
Hope you feel better soon Holly.
Have a good day all 🌻
Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
On the advice of my nursing friend, I took myself off to a walk in at a hospital over ten miles away, a shadow of myself after violent coughing (green stuff) for a week and hardly eating. Two hours later, chest examined, upper viral respiratory infection diagnosed and NO ANTIBIOTICS 😨 Personally think she got it mixed up with the Black Death. Hope to get to my BILs 90th in the south this coming week. He’s in better shape than I am…
So a quiet day, washing on the line and the sun a bit wasted on me.
I know how you feel Sar, this one’s a bu**er.
Thoughts to all with troubles.
Foxygloves welcome to Mick's thread. Have a lovely catch up with your sister in law. Grammaretto that's just bad manners not to let you know. You could slice the cake and freeze some?
I haven't been invited either Blue Sapphire . I always have to make the effort if I want to see the family and I didn't feel up to it.
I am grateful that they are busy and having fun
I saw some last weekend anyway.
What has annoyed me is that I got up early to bake for the community café and found it is closed and I wasn't told.
So now I have a whole cake to eat!!
That sounds selfish, saying “invited myself down” - it’s not quite like that, we are all bringing a contribution to the meal, but Sis-in-law is hosting in D’s lovely new kitchen, now the builders have gone!
Good morning from here too. The sun is out now and the washing machine running.
My commiserations Blue Sapphire, I too am on my own as my daughters and their families are in Somerset, Japan and Suffolk respectively over the holidays. DH always loved Easter and to us it was a family occasion without the razzmatazz of Christmas So I am a bit sad, but trying not to let it get to me.
And as one of DH’s sisters is house- and dog-sitting in London for the family who have gone to Japan, I have invited myself down and we will be having lunch together with other sister, nephew and D’s FIL who is also on his own, widowed a year ago.
I think our AC’s generation just see Easter as the middle weekend of the children’s school holidays so no big deal. Whether religious or not, it means more to me however but I can’t let myself “go there” in my head . 🐣
Kalu I knew you meant me! 😄 It was a lovely gesture from a lovely lady who my daughter called aunt all her days. A wee stone was missing and a claw needed replaced, hence why she hasn't got it yet. She doesn't know about it so there will be tears. BlueSapphire I'm very sad that your family haven't invited you. I hope it's an oversight, but if not, have as good an Easter Sunday as you can 💐
Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Trip to garden centre this morning and then a walk round the town I think. We have decided to do as little car travel as we can this weekend.
I agree Grandmachrisy some of our family are nearby and it is mostly quick visits, everyone working full time makes a big difference now.
Best wishes for Easter to all
Good morning from a brighter Co Durham.
BlueSapphire, I think if your family live close by and drop in frequently they don’t appreciate how an invitation to join them would be lovely. We see DD2, SiL and dgd three days every week ( except school holidays) for a short while but seldom for an extended visit. I’m grateful though, as so many other grandparents live far apart from their families.
Hope all who are feeling poorly get relief soon. Happy Easter one and all. Off to do my morning exercise bike for 30 minutes.
Good morning from Durham, where it’s starting to brighten up.
Yesterday was strange - I did nothing, ate nonstop and fell asleep in the afternoon! Perhaps recovering from 2 busy days with DGS1 here - at 5, he’s not able to amuse himself.
Coffee this morning with BF - I’ve a bottle of Harvey’s for her, a thank you for helping with the ridiculous amount of paperwork now needed to rent out a house.
Possibly a bit of gardening later as there’s moss killer to apply, but it needs to rain within a few days afterwards.
Best wishes to all. X
Morning from what was a sunny S Hants, it’s clouded over. Granddaughter is back from Austria, 21 hours, no delays, we’ll see her later.
Bedding to wash, seeds to sow, MrJ will be watching the Masters golf.
A new chapter starts gMattie goodbyes tinged with memories 💐.
Hope those poorly improve Sar.
Enjoy your day all 🦩🦩
Apologies Grandmabatty I forgot to put your name on my post to you!🤯
Baubles, enjoy your visit to Perth and Kinross, I know and love the area well.
Sorry to hear neither of your AC issued an invitation to join them BlueSapphire I hope you have your own enjoyable day doing exactly what pleases you.
Good morning from a dry NE but it is overcast.
Yesterday was a cold and grey day, I had a ten minute walk to the postbox and needed a mug of coffee to revive me after.
DS sent photos of their first day in Bampton/Downton village, blue sky and warmth, beautiful.
My sister and BIL are home from their week in Cheshire, took them more than five hours because of the nightmare M6. They will visit this afternoon and we will have a drink together.
Enjoy your day.
Talked myself to a standstill yesterday, it was so good to see friends and then DD and family arrived so more talk. Need to finish setting out the revamped children’s corner in church while keeping out of the way of the flower ladies and then DD will doubtless want to Do Something as she is always on the go. Lovely to have them here but realise I am out of practice at being a good host.
Lots of lovely plans on here this morning so hope they all come to fruition and a good day is had by all.
Good morning all,
A rather cloudy start here, but the sun is trying to break through. We are forecast a fine day, so 🤞.
Off to help with the church flowers very shortly then will see what the day brings.
I hope you all have a good day.
