Good morning from a dawning E Kent. The moon was still very bright in the clear western sky.
Unexpectedly, I had a pretty good night, May have Ben the walk my young friend and I took last evening.
She came in the late afternoon, collected the last of the stuff I was giving her MS shop, and the two suitcases of clothes, which looked like I was running away from home…
We had a delicious venison steak. I knew she’d never eaten venison, but was gobsmacked when she told me she’d neve4 had the baked apples that followed! And her, so English.
I’m saying my farewells to my friend in the nursing home today, taking her an Easter present as well as birthday presents for next week. I hope there won’t be too many tears.
Carpe diem, dear friends. 🦩🦩🦩❤️🦩

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset looks clear.

Excellent day yesterday. We enjoyed walking by the sea, escaped before it became too busy. With enough energy left for some garden tidying it was good to have been outside for most of the day

Off early along two motorways to see family today complete with a surplus to requirements garden table which just fits in the car. Hope the traffic is kind.

Hope your visit isn’t too draining grandmattie. So many goodbyes.

Take care everyone.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. We got back from our Danube Cruise yesterday. We had a great time but it’s always good to be home. Our cleaning ladies had been in the day before we left for our holiday so it’s still sparkling! The garden looks beautiful. I must have a jaunt to Waitrose this morning. The cupboard is almost bare. I will also pop over the road and give my friend something nice for feeding Milo and Ripley for the week. Elder son and his family are coming this evening and staying until tomorrow. They are holidaying in the Scottish highlands. I usually do leg of lamb for Easter Sunday. Not this year as they have become ridiculously expensive. Guinea fowl is on the menu and chocolate bread and butter pudding. Yum. Of course I will be buying Easter eggs! I’ve already sent some via John Lewis to younger son who is staying in London. Our daughter is on holiday in New Orleans, so she won’t get one! As I said, it’s always good to be home. When son and his family have left tomorrow I have to prepare for my sister and niece arriving from Australia on Monday. We haven’t seen one another since December 2019 when we were in Sydney for the wedding of another niece! Have a peaceful Saturday.

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire. The sky is clear and bright, looks like another gorgeous day ahead.

So many partings gM, it must be upsetting.

We’re going to visit DD at a holiday lodge near Gleneagles, it’s a beautiful spot, I’m looking forward to perhaps even having lunch outside.

Have the best day possible everyone. 🦩

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where a hazy sun is coming up in a clear sky. Going to be a decent day. Yesterday’s cleaning, baking and gardening left me aching, but I am going walking today with DD and the menfolk down the Monsal Trail to the Monsal Head viaduct. It will be a relatively short one for them, but my longest walk to date. Watch this space! I will eat dinner with them later and then, if my legs are still working, drive home. Then I have a day to recover before DS and DiL come down on Monday.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It was sunny and warm here yesterday. Let's hope it continues.

My Gaelic teacher came for dinner last night and we had a good chat. in English She's off back to the Highlands for Easter. I may go to a fundraising event tonight.

I haven't any set Easter plans though there's a church service tomorrow.

Hoping everyone has a lovely time whatever you are doing .

Good morning from sunny Colchester. The forecast is a few degrees cooler than yesterday.
I'm up early as DD1 is parking here to do the park run. Playing the rest of the day by ear.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning all . Another bright and chilly morning.

Yesterday was lovely at DS1’s easter egg hunt and bar b q. We sat outside for most of the afternoon but later it got cold so we moved indoors. The little GC made Easter crafts and enjoyed all being together.

Today Dh will go to footie and I’ll have an afternoon to myself.
Lovely!
Tomorrow we plan to travel up to our cottage by the sea. DS1 and family will join us for a few days.

Multi your day sounds just right. Enjoy! 😉.
GM so many goodbyes. I hate them! A new beginning awaits you . .

Sar I hope you are recovering from your chest infection and feeling a bit better each day, 🙏.

Take care all 🌷

Good morning from a wonderfully sunny spot on a high in Wiltshire, what a lovely start to the day!
I so enjoyed being out in the sun yesterday, pottering in the garden and enjoying seeing all the Spring flowers. Lots of butterflies and bees around too.
I got all the washing dried, ironed and put away too.
Started knitting a pullover for myself, it’s knitted top down on circular needles so something different (it’s needing concentration too!)
DH and DDog did a 5 hour hike, both were asleep within an hour of getting back.
I watched the first three episodes of Magpie Murders last night, really enjoying it, so nice not to have gratuitous violence.
Have a lovely Easter weekend everyone 🐣🐥

Good morning from a sunny and calm Torbay. Such a bonus for the holidaymakers!

I was drinking decaf tea at 4.00 am, following a wakeful time so I’m late and zombieesque this morning!

Welcome home, Ladyleftfieldlover! It sounds like you’ll need another holiday to recover from all those visitors!

It's good to read of family visits and outings happening. You will certainly be missed in your corner of Kent when you move, grandMattie. Your friends and acquaintances have had their lives enriched from knowing you.

Safe travels and happy times to you all. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from the South Downs where we are in for another glorious spring day.

Definitely in the garden today. Dig up the bed behind the gravel garden in preparation for replanting.

Surprised how empty Marks food hall was yesterday, quite a pleasant wonder around.

Must give thought to putting up the sails in the conservatory soon, as it is getting hot in the afternoon - taking off a jumper would help I suppose.

Well, have a good day one and all.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 08-Apr-23 07:23:08

Oh I completely forgot - I’ve just looked at the calender and realise that we are out to a barbecue this afternoon at a friends! First of the season. So gardening will be cut short.

Good morning from another bright and sunny day in Essex by the sea.
Yesterday was not a good day. I keep hoping that I will wake up and the cough will have gone but unfortunately it doesn't work like that.
DH is unwell too with a very sore throat. We're a right pair !!!
No plans today although we will have to venture out for some food at some stage.
Enjoy all your family get togethers. Love to all xx

Grandmabatty Sat 08-Apr-23 07:34:55

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 3° and slightly cloudy. Mick enjoy your day. Multi that sounds like a lovely day for you too. Grandmattie I haven't had either venison or baked apples for years. I'll have to make both soon. Ladyleftfieldlover your meal sounds wonderful too! Lots of busy family plans for people.
Yesterday I managed to shake off what was bothering me by getting the housework done. Thank you for your kind mentions on yesterday's thread. The botheration was mainly about an injustice I think is being perpetrated. However it isn't to me or mine and I can't actually change things so I've decided to put it to one side. It's coloured my view of someone I like though. I did sleep better last night too, which always helps.
Today I should have been meeting a friend at the local garden centre for breakfast but she cancelled last night as she's unwell. This particular friend is prone to cancelling so I wasn't really surprised. It gives me a quiet day home. I'll nip to see dd and the boys. I have Easter outfits and chocolate bunnies for the boys and wine for dd and sil. I also have a ring for dd. She was left it by my recently passed friend who was given the ring by my parents when she was my chief bridesmaid many years ago. My friend wanted my daughter to have it. It needed a bit of fixing,so I've just got it back from the jewellers. The rest of the day, I will be trying to complete wee cross stitches to give to people tomorrow. Have a good day all.

S somerset is set fair this lovely morning and a good morning to all.

The bedroom and en suite need cleaning today, the sun showed me the dust. It is not a bad onerous job, won`t take long. I will ignore the inside windows downstairs, no point right now, they will be done on a dull day.

My 30 sedums were planted into gaps in the soil, which was far wetter than expected. They will settle well and the others are spreading and making a good sub for grass. My garden is drought proofed now and also survived the winter. It is time to put my artisan, ex oil drum, seat out. From there I can sit under the new trees read and watch them grow. My oasis

A good day to all

Good morning from North Yorkshire. A lovely sunny start to the day. I’m heading off to see the family for the weekend including a theatre trip on Monday.
Patio, paths and steps all power washed yesterday. It’s certainly brightened the garden up. My back still aches though!
Happy Easter everyone. Hope you have a good day.

Good morning all from bright Harrogate
Such a sad time GrandMattie saying all the goodbyes. Leaving Kent will be such a wrench. Llfl your holiday has obviously given you lots of energy, which you will need for all your visitors!
Yesterday had a pleasant amble in town, the weather was lovely.
Today will do a spot of baking then chill out, have had a lousy night, so a nap is probably called for this afternoon.
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning everyone from a very misty Northampton, but it is due to burn off and let the sun shine.

Walked up to DS house yesterday and dropped off the Easter Eggs for the DGDs. Also gave everyone some little souvenirs from my South African holiday. DS proudly showed me the big leg of lamb he'd just bought for their Easter Sunday dinner. Felt a bit sad as there was no invitation forthcoming for me.... neither have I heard from DD, so it will be Easter on my own this year. Don't mean to sound sorry for myself, they have their own things to do, and I don't expect automatic invitations, but....

DS then dropped me at the shops where I got a few extra things in for the weekend. Home, where I had an early dinner before going next door to share in my neighbour's 50th birthday celebrations. She is young enough to be my daughter, being born the year after DH and I were married! Lots of people there, a wonderful spread of food and drink, and plenty of people to chat to.

Having a trip out on the bus today to Milton Keynes; I need to return some shorts to M&S, and will then have a good browse around the shops and have lunch out, (will save me cooking tonight).

Hope Easter Saturday is kind to all.

Good morning everyone from a bright and clear day in Inverness, hopefully the sun will be shining later
We’ve had a lovely time with our visitors, they left yesterday morning and arrived safely home last night. We’ve a day to recover today and then more visitors are arriving tomorrow. I got all the bedding washed and dried yesterday so it’ll be remaking the beds and doing some more cooking today. Hopefully I’ll get a bit of time in the garden too
Pleased you’re feeling a bit better grandmabatty sounds like a good day ahead. How lovely your friend left the ring for your DD too
Hoping Sar and Holly are feeling much better soon 💐
If you’re meeting up with friends and family enjoy the special time together
Take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where it's 2°C.

A very busy day yesterday and a restless night has left me very tired. However, it was a fulfilling day.
DD arrived early morning with Easter treats ( I love Easter egg chocolate) and because she was going to the dump, kindly took away all our garden waste.
DH was delighted, on returning home from golf, to find it gone and no need for him to go!
We are off to DS1's for rolls and square slice, the men will watch the football and I will chat to Dollie.
Apparently she hasn't stopped talking since her day out with us on Thursday. DS asked if we had been feeding her Red Bull DD kept her busy yesterday, making Easter treats for us.

This evening , I need to go out early to help prepare the church for the Easter vigil. It's going to be a long night.
We have baptisms, threeFirst Communion and three Confirmations. Our congregation has expanded, with many nationalities joining our Parish.
I shall be sitting down a lot, as I did at yesterday's service. I no longer am embarrassed doing it, while all the rest of the congregation are standing. Standing for a while, makes my BP drop, so I won't be chancing it.

I need to remember to take the turkey from the freezer for Sunday dinner. I'm not fussed about turkey, but it is DH's favourite meal. He is of course expecting all the trimmings!

For those of you with plans, enjoy. Baubles, I love that area of Scotland.
MultiC, its great to see you, once more, enjoying a lovely time with friends and family. 💐

Have a good day folks.

Good morning from sunny Severnside.

I’ll be on my own to BlueSapphire. I am glad I’ve no plans to go anywhere though as I want to get my garden work done.

I did really well yesterday with my building of a wooden low wall and hope to carry on with that side of the garden today. There isn’t much I ever want to watch on a Saturday evening so I’ll probably weed the greenhouse and chuck out the rubbish that has accumulated in there over the winter.

Have a lovely day all 🌼🌞

Good morning from sunny Sefton.
A fun family day out yesterday with DS 1 & 2 & their daughters at the permanent fairground at a local seaside resort. Lots of rides for the little ones & chips & icecream for lunch ... so naughty! I was chief coat carrier & had a lovely time watching everyone enjoying themselves.
A rest day today I think, maybe put a wash on & have a potter in the garden.
Hope you're all able to enjoy this lovely weather.
