Good Morning Everyone,
Its twilight but its dry outside here in brackley this morning.
Today , I will go into Bicester on the bus and have a coffee and maybe a cake plus a shop as well .
This is usually 2 hour stay and I may have a beer as well .
Otherwise back home at lunchtime followed by cycling on TV.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a still dark E Kent, although the birds are singing.
Two more sleeps!
Had a bit of a frantic day yesterday with a stream of visitors, including DD and family “organising” means moving things from one room to another. A lovely dinner with the whole family, although the bill was a bit jaw dropping. I never used to pay myself, DH used to deal with that!
Today, more of the same; packing a case for a fortnight, getting more things sorted, lots of phone calls especially to the solicitor to see how things are moving.
I’m finding all this very stressful.
Added to the mix, unfinished business in Mauritius re. my mother’s investments/estate, needs to be sorted. She moved to the UK in 1994 and died 14 years ago….
All will be well in the end, it’s getting there which is so very trying.
Have a good day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩❤️

Good morning, all from a fine (at the moment!) Torbay.

grandMattie: It must feel a relief that you will soon see fulfilment of your plans with everything falling into place for your move. Having DD and family for support is welcome, no doubt. I know what you mean about the cost of treating the family! When I treated mine to Sunday lunch, my DGS2 (12) and DGD (10) ate as much as the adults plus puddings! Just keep in mind the goal for which you are aiming and the caring support of all your friends on the GM thread. “You've got this!” as the younger generation would say!

Props this morning, a brief Zoom with the theatre committee this afternoon then, this evening, I shall watch our latest play, Death's Desire. No need for me to be a Front of House steward as they have a full team of volunteers.

Have a good day, everyone! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire, I think we’ve had overnight rain again.

Enjoy your day Mick.

You’ve had a lot to deal with Mattie, hopefully it will all be sorted soon.

I’ve another work day ahead, the full time manager is on annual leave and unfortunately a few of my best volunteers are also away this week so it’s extra busy for me.

Have the best day possible everyone.

BlueBalou Tue 11-Apr-23 06:25:42

Good morning from a chilly Wiltshire, it’s not raining at the moment….
Fingers crossed grandMattie that all goes smoothly now 🤗
Yesterday we had torrential rain with strong winds, it was quite something to see the trees behind our house whipping around in the gales.
I spent a lovely morning playing around with my watercolour paints, very relaxing. I really must do that more often.
I’m all set for a couple of days away in Somerset ,doing nothing but painting, it’s so nice to be completely spoiled in beautiful surroundings. I don’t enjoy the drive but it’s well worth it.
I must look for more opportunities to do it!
I hope everyone has a lovely day x

Grandmabatty Tue 11-Apr-23 06:28:36

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 5° and damp. It feels cold this morning. Grandmattie I feel for you. It's such a stressful time moving house. Baubles don't overdo it! Ash enjoy just watching the play, and not having a job to do.
Yesterday was blissfully quiet after a busy few days. My aunt and uncle popped in but didn't stay long.
Today is a childcare day - the only one this week. I'm not sure what we will do yet. I like to get the boys outside if I can so probably the garden for a while and maybe the swings. Chicken Waldorf salad for dinner. Have a good day all.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 11-Apr-23 06:41:07

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. No idea about the weather. Good wishes to GM. It is great having my sister and niece here. My sister wants to go to Oxford today. Our main route into Oxford closed last night for six months so we need to find an alternative route! We will also contact the Home where our aunt is. If possible we will visit her tomorrow . Have a good day everyone.

Greyduster Tue 11-Apr-23 06:47:19

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sky is clear in South Yorkshire but it’s chilly at the moment. DS and DiL came yesterday but the weather was foul all day so we were stuck indoors, but that was fine as we lingered over lunch and a nice bottle of wine. Today I am going to see my best friend. We have been trying to get together for an absolute age, but for one reason and another, it hasn’t worked out, but fingers crossed today will be the day!
Have the best day you can folks.

Pittcity Tue 11-Apr-23 07:06:23

Good morning from sunny Colchester.
Had a lovely family day yesterday despite the horrible weather.
Typically it's nice today and I'm volunteering in the charity shop.
Love to all 🦩 x

glammagran Tue 11-Apr-23 07:10:08

Good morning to you all. We haven’t left the house since last Thursday.

We had DD2 and family for dinner on Sunday which was lovely. Apart from DGD3 (4) and DGS2 (2 in 10 days time) always on the point of murdering each other! We have him today all day and then his sister tomorrow. Apart they are great. Hopefully by next year we can have them both together but sibling rivalry is too much at the moment.

Hopefully I will catch up with DD1 soon. She and her family went to Antigua 10 days ago. I was surprised on Saturday when she texted to say they were back home. A long way to go for 1 week but DGD1 needs to work this week in her holiday job.

Foxygloves, your experience of other people’s wheelie cases reminded of being on the underground in London some years ago. A tourist had her case to her right on a down escalator which she wasn’t holding onto and I was directly behind the case. She was engrossed in her phone and did not notice we had reached the bottom. She grabbed the case and I fell directly into her and landed on top of her. We weren’t hurt but just got up, glared at her and walked off.

Have a good day all and hopefully the sun will appear again soon.

GrannySomerset Tue 11-Apr-23 07:12:11

DD and family are off soon so an early Stratton by my standards. We have had a lovely weekend with a blitz on the garden yesterday so that it looks much better and I have various pots emptied and cleaned and ready for planting up in a week o

GrannySomerset Tue 11-Apr-23 07:12:50

In a week or two - not sure what happened there!

GrannyGravy13 Tue 11-Apr-23 07:19:33

Morning all

Sun is shining but we have a forecast of rain later.

We have The Imp today which can be a roller coaster 🤣🤣

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Wyllow3 Tue 11-Apr-23 07:21:29

Good Morning from a sunny S Yorks but the forecast says rain later.

I had my MRI on the alien lump on my arm yesterday, it went fine partly cos was dosed up on Tramadol having wrenched my back, its a bit better today. Icing it as I write.

I'm planning to go to Halfords this morning to get a Sat nav fitted - and be shown how to work it till I'm confident. Very long overdue,I just put off anything new and techie. But will give me more confidence getting around.

On the final bit, GM, it is very stressful,, you are doing so well.

cornergran Tue 11-Apr-23 07:23:33

Morning Mick, morning All. An overcast corner of Somerset after heavy overnight rain, more forecast. Grey and very damp out there.

A back to normal day today. Some computer faffing for me, and a kitchen drawer begging to be tidied. Mr C will ‘offer’ to iron the bedding. Hope to get out for some air if we can. Nothing exciting.

Moving is incredibly stressful grandmattie, nearly there.

Take care everyone. Go gently.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 11-Apr-23 07:31:35

Good morning from a glorious sunny South Downs which apparently is going to change to heavy rain and gale force winds later - so I’d better make the most if it.

Tottered to bed late last night as the children lingered over their meal and lots of chat which was lovely, but now to face the clearing up. Did one dishwasher full but everything to clear up and crockery to put away. Would really prefer to go into the garden while it is fine. So shall I leave it until this afternoon? Hmm.

Still lounging around in bed - dog still dozing after his exiting day with his doggy relatives Ernie and poppy-

Foxygloves Tue 11-Apr-23 07:33:10

A lovey sunny morning here -but I think it could get lively!
I had a rather discombobulating walk yesterday with the dog. As I came through the children’s playground in the centre of our village I could see what looked like some people sitting on the pavement by the way in. As I got nearer I could see a regular dog walking friend had tied her dog to the handrail and was crouched down beside a lady huddled on the ground while her husband was being helped to sit up on the edge of the pavement. The are a well loved 90 year old couple and walk round the village every day without fail, he with two sticks. So I tied my dog up too and between us we got the lady up and onto a bench just a few steps away. Meanwhile a couple from one of the houses opposite were sitting with the husband who seemed shaken and hurt but not injured, an ambulance had been called, and blankets were brought out to keep them warm as there was a biting wind . Water was offered, and our small group sat with the couple to reassure them, chatting , and kept them as comfortable as we could until the ambulance got there- under an hour ( Not one of the “horror story” ambulance waits you read about, fortunately. )
They were helped into the ambulance to be checked over and then driven home, fortunately not very far.
By this stage the dog and I had had enough of being out in the cold wind and came home again. Not much of a walk by dog standards.
It was heartening to see village neighbourliness swing into action though and again I thought how lucky we are when we can enjoy the kindness of strangers.
So today I hope my car will be collected by the recovery company, that my courtesy replacement vehicle will be forthcoming and then I need to prep for D and GS and GD coming for lunch tomorrow on their way home from Somerset, leaving GD with me for a couple of days. How having one little girl has necessitated buying out half a supermarket I don’t know but I no longer keep the sorts of things she likes eating! I also need to tidy and Hoover - I tend to be fairly relaxed about that sort of thing unless someone is coming blush and the last few days turned out rather different to expected.
Wishing you all a pleasant day and safe travels if you are out and about.

harrigran Tue 11-Apr-23 07:35:14

Good morning from a very windy NE, had to wear earplugs to get some sleep.
DD is having a scan this morning, she has been ill continuously for almost two years and still no effective treatment.
DD and SIL will come here at lunchtime so that they are here for the financial advisor's visit.
We will probably do the grocery shop later this afternoon and save them another trip here.
Weather forecast is poor for this time of year, hope others are luckier.

ShazzaKanazza Tue 11-Apr-23 07:40:11

Good morning Mick and everyone from Hull and it’s a lovely fine morning so far.

Yesterday we had a run out to Lincoln and walked the steep hill down and back up. We bought some special local cheeses. DH treated me to some t shirts from M&S and some Lush. We’d only just got back to the car when the heavens opened to a storm.
Today it’s the start of my fortnightly trips to take mum backwards and forwards to her caravan. Tonight we are babysitting the little ladies.

Grandmabatty it’s my full day with GS tomorrow. Hoping the weather will be ok to take him out.

Have a lovely day everyone and hoping you find sunshine🌻🌻

karmalady Tue 11-Apr-23 07:43:42

Good morning from s somerset and the same as many, rain is expected but the sun at present is lovely

Wales was wonderful. drive was do-able, 4 hours return trip on very packed motorways. Family look so well and happy and son in law cooked the best roast dinner I have eaten in years. They have stunning views, high up and overlooking the beautiful usk valley.

I was tired when I got back but did some knitting while watching `the good doctor`. I love that series, so much so that I bought the full box set. I did not watch any tv and especially not the news. Maybe that is why I slept the whole night.

Have a good relaxing day, it sounds as though many of you have been very busy and need a bit of recovery time

Gingster Tue 11-Apr-23 07:47:33

Good morning all and the sun is shining , glistening on the sea, but the wind is strong and chilly.
Had a message from DS1 yesterday saying they had made the decision not to join us for a few days as the forecast is for rain all week. I don’t blame him as we would be stuck with two teenage girls and two mucky dogs. The cottage isn’t that big and we would have been on top of each other. It’s fine when the weather is good - large garden, summer house and beach on our doorstep but a different matter when it rains.
Love them to bits …..but secretly quite pleased.😉.

Yesterday we got soaked walking the dog in the forest. We thought we would be more sheltered in there.

Not sure what’s happening today but a run out somewhere and find a cosy cafe for coffee/lunch. Back to read my book and sit in the summerhouse listening to the sea.

GM you’re nearly there. You strong woman! .
Ash enjoy the play.
Sar hope you’re on the mend at long last.🤞.

Take care 🌷

BlueSapphire Tue 11-Apr-23 07:48:29

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Northampton, but rain forecast this afternoon. Despite that, the bedding is in the washing machine; I thought if I got it out early enough it would be dry by lunchtime.

Not much to report from yesterday; spent the afternoon catching up on recorded tv programmes.

Hope to get to a health walk after lunch. Need to ring a local tour company this morning- I am on a coach trip to Windsor Castle on Thursday, and a neighbour has expressed a wish to join me, so I will need to see if there is srill a space on the coach.

A couple of pictures from our visit to the lovely gardens on Sunday, including the bright flamingos.

Have a good day everyone.

Jaxjacky Tue 11-Apr-23 07:51:33

Morning from sunny S Hants, rain and wind due later. We had heavy rain, storms and sun yesterday.
Nearly there gMattie , grit your teeth for the last couple of days.
Quiz was fun last night, but overran, so a later night, we didn’t win.
No great plans today, will get out in the greenhouse later this morning to sow more seeds.
Enjoy your day all.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its 5°C.

A lot of busyness over the weekend for some of you, which I have enjoyed reading about.

Yesterday was a non day, because I felt so unwell, I can cope with being unwell, it's the unpredictability of it all, which is getting to me. I never know from one hour day to the next how I will be.
Today will be another quiet one.

GM, a very stressful time for you, but I'm sure all will work out in the end.
Baubles take care of that back and don't overdo things.

Wishing you all the best day possible and best wishes for all, who are unwell or worried about family members. 💐

brook2704 Tue 11-Apr-23 07:53:46

Good morning everyone from Inverness where the weather has brightened up a bit, it’s chilly but at least the sun is shining
Not long now gMattie, hopefully the stress will ease a bit soon
It’s our last full day of entertaining our visitors today, I think a walk out somewhere might be a good idea and recharge the batteries a bit.
Hoping the scan helps your DD with a diagnosis harrigran and some appropriate treatment, 2 years is much too long to be poorly
Sounds idyllic in the summerhouse Gingster enjoy the peacefulness, I know what you mean about being secretly pleased about your DSs visit though
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
