Good morning all from bright sunny Harrogate- here’s hoping the weather lasts better than yesterdays sunshine!
Today GrandMatties you close a chapter in your book and start a new one - how exciting! Good luck!
Glad yesterday went as it should Grandmabatty you will be relieved.
Congratulations Marydoll on the new arrival.
Happy birthday Ladyleftfieldlover!
Today I await my delivery from Sainsburies , last week I had the help of my DGS sorting the shopping. He, too, use’s Makaton but sometimes makes up his own version which is not so easy to understand! This pm I have an appointment with the podiatrist, much needed before our trip to Llandudno on Saturday. This evening a zoom call with my sisters who I will meet up with next week.
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning everyone from Severnside.

Welcome 💐to living in the West Country and Brizzle Mattie where it is a sunny day. Hope all goes well.

Congratulations to all the Dolls on the arrival of Babydoll.

I’m doing the weekly shop today and then some preparation work for my next garden project that I hope will mean I don’t get as many weeds or self seeding flowers in the particular area.

Have a lovely day all 🌞🌼🦩

Good morning all from a sunny Suffolk. Up early as off to visit my sister who was admitted to hospital 10 days ago with sepsis. It’s a 4 hour train journey after an hour’s car drive to the station so a long and tiring day but it will be good to see her. She sounds ok on the phone but worried they haven’t yet found the source of the infection.

Congratulations * Marydoll* on your lovely news about babydoll and hope all goes smoothly * GM* for your move today.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Quite a change in the weather from yesterday. Storm Noah was at its worst on the South Coast. We sat in my parents flat and watched the wind lashing the sea.
It'll be a pleasant walk to Aldi today to stock up and I can get the bedding on the line.
Wishing GM a stress free move and Congratulations to MD and family on the safe arrival of babydoll
Love to all 🦩 x

Grammaretto Thu 13-Apr-23 07:33:37

Good morning all from the sunny Scottish Borders.
Wonderful newsMarydoll !😍

Good luck for a smooth move today gMattie 🫰🍀🦩🦩🦩

The funeral was small and friendly. Df had suffered from Alzheimer's for many years so it is a blessed release.

I have yoga today and will plant my tatties and more seeds.

Hope you all have a good day.

Grannmarie Thu 13-Apr-23 07:33:11

Good morning Mick and all, from cloudy Lanarkshire.

I'm just popping in to say Good Luck to Grandmattie for her house move, and many Congratulations to Marydoll on the safe arrival of her new baby granddaughter. Lovely news!

I'm awaiting the arrival of my GD for two days of childcare to round off the school
holidays. Her Mummy is dropping her off shortly. I think we are going swimming today!

Wishing everyone a good Thursday.

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 13-Apr-23 07:31:48

Good luck with your move today, grandMattie. Congratulations on your new granddaughter, Marydoll.
Glad your DH arrived safely, Ash.
Quiet day for me pending arrival of our two gdogs tomorrow to stay for the weekend. They are so lively 😀.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton.

Hope all goes well today grandMattie.
Many congratulations Marydoll.
Exciting days for you both!

Hopefully a good day for me too, as I am on a coach trip to Windsor Castle. Haven't been since I was a child, and even then we didn't go into the castle, just viewed it from the outside. One of my neighbours decided she quite fancied the day out as well, so it will be good to have company.

Didn't go out to the well-being cafe yesterday, as it was an afternoon of blustery showers, so I stayed in and wrestled with more chapters of 'Hard Times'. I must admit to cheating and reading a synopsis of the entire story, which hopefully will make the rest of it easier to understand.... Why does Dickens always use twelve words where one would do?

Happy Thursday to all.

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull.

Thats such lovely news to hear this morning Marydoll. Congratulations💐

grandMattie all the very best for your move today 💐

My DH is going to a beer festival today so I have a few hours on my own. I’m going to the gym this morning and this afternoon need to go to the optician to pick up my upgraded distance glasses. Quite coincidentally two weeks ago the day I went I developed a weird floater in my eye. It moves with my eye so she is going to have a look at that while I am in there.
Yesterday we had GS and he was such a good boy. He is starting to make himself understood now and each time we understand what he asks for we get a big beaming smile. I found myself in tears after he showed me some Makaton signing and saying the words to go with them.

Have a lovely day everyone and thoughts to those with sadness and stress 🌻🌻

brook2704 Thu 13-Apr-23 07:20:34

Good morning from a well watered corner of Somerset, those storms were spectacular yesterday!
Final few hours of art this morning then drive the home, hopefully not as many heavy lorries as on the way down, and back to normal.
I don’t have anything planned for the next few days I don’t think, apart from the new patio starting to be laid Saturday.
Wishing you all the best for your move grandMattie 🤗
How wonderful, a new baby Marydoll, enjoy those cuddles!

Aldom Thu 13-Apr-23 07:10:57

Morning Mick, morning All. Thank goodness our corner of Somerset is quieter and brighter this morning after frightening wind strength and torrential rain yesterday.

Little accomplished yesterday I must iron and generally catch up this morning. A 90th birthday party to attend this afternoon

Wishing you well grandmattie. So much accomplished in such a short time. Good to know your husband arrived safely ash and all was as well as it could be yesterday grandmab.

Take care everyone. Hope Thursday is gentle with us all.

Good morning from St Andrews and I have a new granddaughter!! 🥰 My cup runneth over. When I was admitted to hospital recently, I was sure I would never see the baby. I cannot contain my joy.
Last night we got a surprise call from DS2 to say baby had arrived early!
I'm a bit shell shocked because DIL was booked in for a C section on Tuesday! It's taken me time to get used to it, as we were taken unawares.
We will see her, when we get back home later today. I can't wait.

Dollie was totally overwhelmed yesterday, when her daddy took her to get something from the car and her papa was standing there. She said it was the best surprise ever
We have had a lovely time, despite the wind. Thank you for the warning multic, we were well wrapped up.
It's a surprise we actually got there. We have driven this route many times, but DH decided to use the Sat nav, to avoid Coupar, where there is always a bottle neck. He took a wrong turning, ended up on a single lane road, with a burn at the side. It didn't do my heart rate much good, especially as I realised a bin lorry was expected and the only place to go was in the burn. .
DS was panicking, when on checking our tracking, he saw we were heading for Dundee. I was too. So much so, that I insisted DH turned right at the next roundabout.
I of course was correct as usual. We did arrive only forty five minutes late. 😉
Our stay was made even more special by a delicious Indian meal last night. For some reason, everything was fully booked and that was the only place we could get a table..
Today, we will give Dollie's parents a break from her non stop chattering, followed by a fish lunch, then home to see babydoll..

I wish you the best of luck for you today, GM, a very emotional time.
GMBatty, I hope you are feeling ok after yesterday.

Have a great day, folks.

Sar53 Thu 13-Apr-23 06:47:12

Good morning from a bright day in Essex by the sea.
A lazy day yesterday, more of the same today.
I hope all goes well GM, a new exciting chapter in your life.
Have the very best day that you can everyone xx

Grandmabatty Thu 13-Apr-23 06:41:36

I'm glad your DH arrived safely Ash

Grandmabatty Thu 13-Apr-23 06:40:35

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4° and damp. The wind has abated. Grandmattie all the best for the new part of your life. Ladyleftfieldlover a happy birthday to you.
Thank you all who wrote such kind words yesterday about my friend's funeral. It went well. As expected, there was a very big turnout. I managed to do the reading with no trips and people commented after how lovely it was. My friend organised the whole thing so I'm glad it went smoothly. It was nice to meet up with lots of old neighbours and friends, despite the circumstances.
Today is a day just for me. I'm up early as I don't sleep anyway. But I will potter about and do some Spanish and then cross stitch. It'll be something out of the freezer for dinner. Have a good day all.

Ashcombe Thu 13-Apr-23 06:33:27

Good morning from a bright and fine Torbay with a pretty sky as the sun rises. Let’s hope we’ve seen the last of Storm Noah, appropriately named since an ark could have proved useful yesterday afternoon!

DH arrived safely yesterday after a smooth journey by rail, apart from being 40 minutes late on the last stage due to a lightning strike on signals at Westbury! We had a lovely evening in which we never stopped talking, accompanied by a
bottle of Saumur fizz.

My first thought this morning was that it was moving day for grandMattie. I hope all will go smoothly as you begin a new chapter in your life. A mixture of apprehension and excitement, I imagine! Good luck!

I have an early hair appointment this morning, planned before DH had to bring his travel plans forward by a day.

I hope we all enjoy sunny skies today, in every sense.

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 13-Apr-23 06:21:46

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. GM I hope all goes well. Things seem to have happened very quickly. I am driving my sister and niece to Oxford this morning to collect a hire car. They will spend the next week or so visiting friends and family before returning here to prepare my birthday lunch! I have got a fair bit of admin to do for WI and other things. Also, our new cleaner should be starting today. Have a good day.
