We’re going to have supper watch an episode of “Rough Diamonds” then set off to try and see the Northern Lights.
Anyone else doing the same?
I will let you know if it was a success.

Am debating doing this too!

😂 lovely, but not the night of passion I was interested to read about.

Sorry I may have deliberately led you on.

If the sky ever clears, we will do an aurora hunt. I’m not optimistic…

kittylester Mon 24-Apr-23 18:34:47

Nor us! It's just grey here.

Redrobin51 Mon 24-Apr-23 18:39:25

Pity I am the other end of the country and it is very grey and cloudy here. I think it is a marvellous way to spend an evening. Hope you see it.x

We are quite far north, but nothing but overcast and rain for tonight. Too bad.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 24-Apr-23 18:46:18

It’s lashing down here, no chance unfortunately.

How lovely. It’s Wet and grey down here, enjoy the experience.

Seen last month in Tromsø. Try to see them if you can.

Doodledog Mon 24-Apr-23 19:04:15

We've come up to the Lakes in the hope of seeing them, but it is snowing grin. I won't be going far, but will leave the curtains open all night, and at the first sight of them we'll be out with cameras.

crazyH Mon 24-Apr-23 19:08:05

Can all you lucky people , who see it, please post pictures - no hope here in Wales

VioletSky Mon 24-Apr-23 19:09:25

Lovely idea, hope you get clear skies!

Doodledog Mon 24-Apr-23 19:12:20

I will if we get anything, but I think we'll be very lucky! It's turned to hail now.

paddyann54 Mon 24-Apr-23 20:18:45

The Aurora is frequently seen over Ben Lomond so going just 2 miles to the foot of the loch gives a great view .Only problem is since lockdown its hard to get any space as people flock from miles away as soon as Aurora watch hints there'll be a show

Aveline Mon 24-Apr-23 20:20:08

It's very strange weather here. Cold and dull then sudden heavy rain showers then sudden sunny outbreaks. Now pretty cloudy. Goodness knows what's coming next.

Doodledog Mon 24-Apr-23 22:24:59

Humph! As I said, we travelled to the Lakes to see them, as they were vivid over Shap last night, apparently, but nothing. To top that, I've just had a text from a friend who is delighted because she drove through them past my house! I could have seen them from the kitchen window if we'd stayed at home 😢

Sitting in a lay-by on the Yorkshire Wilds, a little concerned someone thinks we’re lonely doggers😬.
No lights yet

Sago Tue 25-Apr-23 08:39:40

No lights sadly.

Has your husband forgiven you yet Sago?
How many favours do you owe him?
😉

'Lonely doggers'! grin What a thought

He was surprisingly good natured, perhaps he’s used to an anti climax😉.

We did see a number of cars in a lay by on the coast road and for a few moments thought they must be in the know.
Then the penny dropped it’s a well known dogging site😬
