Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking grey but its daylight and dry at the moment here in brackley this morning.
I have had a case of misread or belated mail as to appointments , yesterday when I returned home I had a letter as one at JR yesterday , the other which I thought was yesterday was last Tuesday as to Glaucoma.
Lets Post and hospitals get it right so I have warning .
Today usual local shop and bus trip .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Off to art soon then into city this evening for Italian meal with old friend. Been sneezing etc and hope it’s not another cold coming on as I had a virus/cold only a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully it’s hayfever, which I don’t usually get.
Had a quiet day yesterday as it’s been rather busy here.
Welcome home ashcombe it’s nice to travel and nice to return.
Thoughts to Kalu and all with worries of any kind.

Grammaretto Fri 28-Apr-23 08:02:41

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. A little milder at last.
I'm tired after a busy for me week. DMiL is due to get home from hospital today but she's very frail so we don't know how long she can go on. DD is coming to see her tomorrow so it will be good to see her and the DGC.
I'm working this morning and get new specs this afternoon.
I don't know how you keep up with your appointments Mick you seem to have so many.
Well done gMattie .
Welcome back Ash
Wishing everyone an untroubled day.

My thoughts are with Kalu
Carpe Diem .

Good morning from a wet Oxfordshire, what a nuisance Mick, I wish the NHS would get their act together.
Some more decluttering today, I’m taking it a room at a time for half a day, not to bad then, then another trip to the Charity shop for the good stuff and the bin for the other, for each item I’m asking myself ‘ if I was clearing this house for a close relative would I want to keep this’ of course with most things it’s a ‘No’ !
I can’t do anything for the family who have both had bad diagnoses from the hospital except to be there for them and their children, the Nephew is an ongoing problem, recently made much worse by the Pharmacy giving him a Generic prescription rather than the pills he can take, another trip to the GPs Pharmacy to exchange and he is already much calmer.

Anyway, enjoy your day everyone and let’s hope we get some sun.

Good morning all and it’s Misty here , too, on the Suffolk coast.
An eerie feel when the sky blends with the sea . So silent too!

Last evening I had Book Club in a lovely old pub a couple of miles away. It was my recommended book , which was ‘ok but ‘long winded’. We all felt the same about it. Only 5 of us there but we chatted away and all get on well. I can’t always make each meeting but I E mail my thoughts on the books.

Today is our last day here. Time flies by! We’ll take it easy today. Dh has done well but he does tire easily. Not the man he was 😢.

Take care, all 🌷

Kalu Fri 28-Apr-23 08:20:48

Good morning all from a dreich, wet start to the day in Glasgow.

I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all for such lovely thoughtful messages and support yesterday. It meant more than words can say. 💐

DD1 will be here this morning to deliver DH his newspaper and a bag of cinnamon balls, which he is currently addicted to.
We haven’t told our girls, especially DD2 in OZ about this latest development until we meet up with DH’s consultant in three weeks, by which time we will have a fuller picture of what lies ahead. Meanwhile, life must go on. DD1 is a ray of sunshine who chats non stop, even more so than her mother Marydoll 😂

Pleased to hear your stomach problem is finally settling Grandmabatty. Enjoy your porridge but don’t rush back to busy Granny mode just yet.
No pottering in the garden today unfortunately.

Best wishes to all for a good day and a better day for those coping with worries and illness.

Gingster Fri 28-Apr-23 08:22:42

Kalu sorry to hear the news for your dh. Keep strong! 💐

Marydoll Fri 28-Apr-23 08:26:21

Kalu DD1 is a ray of sunshine who chats non stop, even more so than her mother Marydoll, I find that very difficult to believe!
I have never met anyone, apart from you, who talks more than me! wink.
How long was our last phone call.......? 😂

farview Fri 28-Apr-23 08:44:36

Busy on here again welcome back to the UK Ash and safe journey home also Ginny safe travels.
No plans again today perhaps do a bit more decluttering in the spare bedroom where everything gets dumped.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Drizzley good morning from Co Armagh
I’m off to Art class , new term starts today , must remember my cash . I use my card so much that it’s hard to remember cash
Our local “hole in the wall “ was subject to an attempted robbery a few weeks ago , different reports say it was a huge sum taken or that they didn’t get it opened ! Anyway it’s not fixed
Thinking of you Kalu prayers for you both xxx

GrannySomerset Fri 28-Apr-23 09:14:16

For the last few days I have to log in every time I look at a GN thread, very annoying. Does anyone know why?

Dampish morning as I walk up to the village for the market and oldies coffee morning but nothing else scheduled apart from the endless ongoing struggle with Ovo, who asked for meter readings (smart meter not working) and then told me my reply was to the wrong address. I have had so much to and fro with machines that this afternoon I will try to talk to a person - wish me luck!

Stilllearning Fri 28-Apr-23 09:23:31

Good morning from Connel, gray and damp here but no rain so I’ll get the bus into Oban for an hour or two, if I can figure out the new bus timetable which is not as easy as it sounds.

I just want to send prayers and thoughts to you and your husband Kalu. I read your post last night and was very sad indeed to hear your news. I wish you and your family strength.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning Mick and all from a misty-murky Angus coast. Sorry about those appointments Mick - very frustrating for you.
I didn't catch up with yesterday's posts til this morning - too tired after my busy day to concentrate on anything. I was so shocked and saddened by your DH's news Kalu flowers🙏.
Love the photo of your little "bundle of mischief" Fairview - I'm sorry you've been having a tough time of late, but that little character will be certain to lift your spirits flowers
Yesterday's tai chi class was interesting. I love it when someone asks a question which leads to discussion and gets us all thinking! After that I had to race home, change, grab a quick lunch and then drive to Perth to have the repaired bits if my hearing aids re-installed. What an improvement! The drive home again was hard going - I keep over-estimating how much I can physically do in a day. I was totally exhausted by the time I got home. A quiet day today methinks - although the kitchen is begging for its weekly deep clean. I shall nibble away at it..
I keep chuckling at your disbelief that you can actually be 70, ladyleftfield. I remember that too - a sort of feeling that maybe it's time to grow up! Just remember, you're only as old as you feel .......
I've just had some photo memories pop up on my phone - it was snowing seven years ago today! So this cold miserable weather is nothing new. Even so, if you do happen to see the sun today, enjoy it and tell the rest of us all about it tomorrow. Enjoy your day as best you can and caring thoughts to those going through hard times x

Sar53 Fri 28-Apr-23 09:27:44

Good morning from a dull, grey day in Essex by the sea.
I feel I am finally on the mend, not coughing as much and feeling brighter.
I'm so sorry to hear your news Kalu, thinking of you and your DH.
No plans today, I may run the hoover over the floors and I have a good book to finish.
Have a pleasant Friday everyone xxx

Taichinan Fri 28-Apr-23 09:29:06

Forgot to say "Welcome Home" to Ash - thanks for the photos.

BlueSapphire Fri 28-Apr-23 09:34:13

Good morning everyone from a grey and damp Northampton, showers forecast for most of the day.

A visit to the shops this morning for a few odds and ends,.and will have a coffee and something to eat.
On the way back will walk to the surgery for my MMR booster,.which they couldn't do a couple of weeks back as I was having my Covid jab.

Enjoyed my dance classes yesterday - we started to learn a new tap routine ready for the big charity tapathon in November! It will take that long to get it into my head.
Phoned the travel company to add something to the medical insurance, and they will get someone to phone me back, goodness knows when, but the holiday isn't until April next year.

Thoughts with Kalu re her sad news yesterday. flowersflowers

Let's hope Friday is kind to all.

Gwenisgreat1 Fri 28-Apr-23 09:45:19

My face is all puffed up, red, and prickly!! Not the look I was after!! Anyway got some antihistamine so hopefully I will son be back to normal.

EkwaNimitee Fri 28-Apr-23 09:50:01

Good morning Mick and all from bright Carlisle.
I’m late today so haven’t read all your posts yet. I have just returned from a trip to the recycling centre with the large amount of packing material from my chest delivery yesterday, along with other things. I too forgot to pay for unpacking though it cost plenty just to have it taken upstairs. I was a bit taken aback when it was simply left!
I might get round to the ironing when I’ve had a restorative cuppa, then that’s it for the day!
Wishing you all the best possible day.

luluaugust Fri 28-Apr-23 10:02:47

Good morning from a grey W Kent. A tidying up morning followed by GS care this afternoon, at 12 I think he looks after us!
Thoughts with you Kalu
Welcome home Ash
gM lovely to hear you are getting settled down in the W country.
Very best wishes to all

Liberty Fri 28-Apr-23 11:09:11

Good morning all from a greyish Suffolk. We have been without internet and therefore landline so I’m in the library in our nearest small town just doing essential emails etc. I find my fingers are too big and my mobile phone screen too small to do much work on that.

Hoping it will be fixed soon so I can continue to read your posts and add mine. Til then, best wishes to all and kind thoughts to those experiencing worrying times.

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 28-Apr-23 11:31:42

Farview what a lovely pup! She is certain to help cheer you up.
Love all of the holiday photos.
Sorry for those who have unwell DH’s and family.

Auntieflo Fri 28-Apr-23 13:58:19

Good afternoon everyone.
We have been out this morning for coffee and catch up chats with friends.
Our Church coffee shop looks festive with flags, bunting and paper chains all around.
Then we went to Waitrose, to see if an on line order was ready to be picked up. No! So we did a bit of shopping as DD and SIL are popping over tomorrow and will stay for lunch.
When we got home ,there was a most pleasant surprise. Our 'lost' passports, had been posted through the letter box. There was no note, so I have posted a Thank You on our local Nextdoor.
We lost them on Tuesday, after visiting the solicitors, and had tried to track our journey on the way home, with no luck.
I had registered with the passport office on line, and they were cancelled.
The local Thames Valley Police were no help, even after being advised to report the loss. Left a message on their phone line, but have had absolutely no response from them, eve to say the message had been listened to.
Oh well, all is now resolved.
Sending all best wishes to Mr and Mrs Kalu
Hoping Marydoll is well and hasn't overdone things lately.
To all who are coping with health problems, sending {{{hugs}}}
Enjoy your afternoons, one and all.
