Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dry but cloudy start here in brackley this morning .
Today usually sees the Morris men on the Piazza outside the Town Hall who are probably performing now.
Today an easy maybe a small shop later but a quiet day in otherwise .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from another cloudy and grey Black Country.

Lovely family meet up for lunch yesterday at a Hotel for my Aunts 80th. Many people who I had not seen for a long time, there must have been 40 of us.

No real plans today, except packing as we are flying to Portugal on Wednesday morning. Probably some ironing.

Wishing you all the best day possible

Grammaretto Mon 01-May-23 08:19:21

Good May Day morning to you all.!

It isn't warm here. It's 9° but sunny and the birds are chirruping.

I had a shock yesterday. While out visiting my aged DMiL I had a call from my lodger thank God for her
to say that she was coping with water bucketing through a ceiling and how could she turn off the water.
Luckily the plumber came quickly and found a burst water tank. By the time I got home the worst was over.
Today more mopping up and dehumidifying.
Hope everyone has a lovely day.

The last few yards to the line gMattie.
Smashing pictures Ash.
MrJ is at work, so I have no real plans, quiz tonight.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩

Good morning.
Had a lovely afternoon yesterday celebrating DGS3. 2nd birthday. He was very excited by it all .
SIL s birthday today so we toasted him as well as we won’t see him today.
We had rain overnight so hoping it will stay dry today. We are hoping to do some sorting out in the garden at last.
Wishing all a good day.

Good morning from a dull Sefton. Not impressed with the weather. We're meeting the family late morning for a stroll along the beach. A bit of sun wouldn't go amiss. We'll leave our lazy greyhound snoozing. He might shake a leg - literally - for a mid afternoon sniff & wander. No other plans planned.
Always enjoy your photos Ashcombe. They bring back lovely memories of our 4/5 years working for the Caravan Club in Devon& Cornwall. We spent a memorable season on a site just outside Stoke Gabriel.

Gala: I’m glad you enjoy my photos. Was this the site you had in mind?

Good morning everyone, a beautiful, clear, sunny morning here and 21°already.

I’m recovering slowly but my goodness, it is slow. I’m trying to eat tiny meals but it’s difficult.

We had a marvellous surprise this weekend. On Friday DGS and Son in law arrived as we expected. On Sunday morning they went out for a drive early and we were wondering where they had got to. They eventually arrived back having been to the airport and collected DGS’s partner and my lovely older DD.
The girls only decided to come a week ago and had spent all week adding extra hours work in so that they could.

Good Morning from a dull Co Armagh
No plans for today , might have another fight with my crochet , I keep losing my place in the pattern , and it’s not even complicated!
So good to see grandMattie getting your apartment ready to move in 😊

Good morning from a dull and damp (after overnight rain) Oxfordshire, no lawn mowing again for me as the grass is very wet. A dog walk later, it was so warm yesterday, but very sticky, but nice not to have to wear hats and scarves.

MissOops dog is guarding the garden for us, seeing off all the birds that MrOops feeds each morning, they will settle back down when she goes home this afternoon.

There will be dancing on the Village green later, the May Pole is being erected right now, I hope it stays dry for them, the May Queen will be taken around the village on a pony and trap later this afternoon.

GM at last ! Good luck for tomorrow ( or maybe Wednesday)

MrOops is happy, one holiday booked to Cyprus, we’ve never been there, but I have 6 weeks to fret and worry about it, so I can manage that!

Have a good May Day everyone, hugs for those with stress and worries.

Gardener due for an extended stint this morning because we are not quite on top of the rampant growth in the borders, something I can no longer manage. DD due later in the day for an overnight stay on her way to work in Salisbury tomorrow so must get organised. I lost yesterday - having got myself ready to go to church I felt dreadful and so had a very quiet day. Seem to be more or less OK this morning so have no idea what was going on, but hope it doesn’t recur.

Hope Grammaretto has recovered from yesterday’s shock and that the problem is solvable. Wishing everyone a cheerful bank holiday.

Wyllow3 Mon 01-May-23 08:50:50

Morning all from a rather overcast S Yorks.

I've over done it yesterday and twigged my back - it hurts to walk - so a day of rest here reading and maybe some sewing.

Lovely time, Cornergran and glad its "nearly there" time GrandMattie

Happy May 1st all. Its always been big - as children parents celebrated International Worker's Day (no maypoles, we were very urban) and for me it heralds my favourite month -just hope we get the weather to go with....bedding plants in, the beechwoods out and the bluebells.

Susan56 Mon 01-May-23 08:50:52

What a lovely surprise dusty☺️

ShazzaKanazza Mon 01-May-23 08:51:25

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull it’s dry and bright.

We have been in the garden a lot this weekend and went to the garden nursery to buy lots of lovely variegated evergreens and golden euonymus to dot around the garden. We are keeping away from bedding plants in pots as we are hoping to go to China for a few weeks.
We are expecting to see the DC and GC at some point today. The little ladies are excited to have their daddy home again.

Ash good luck with Dads Army 🤞 your photos are lovely and very atmospheric.

grandMattie all my best wishes for your move this week. 💐

Wishing everyone a lovely Mayday with trips out, lovely walks and family and friends. 🌻🌻

Dustyangel what a lovely surprise, I still remember my 50th birthday, just out of hospital I saw MrOops car come into the driveway, when I opened the door, my lovely Mum was on the doorstep, he had taken the day off to go down to collect her. Of course I promptly bust into tears…

Still makes me weep when I remember it.

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 01-May-23 08:52:32

Burst, not bust!!

GrannyGravy13 Mon 01-May-23 08:53:42

Morning all

The sun is trying hard to come out. I shall have a lazy day, no GC for the first time in four days.

We are meeting friends for dinner this evening (The posh Turkish very near me Gingster couldn’t persuade them to try the one near you 🤣)

Enjoy May Day folks 🐇🐇🐇 🙋‍♀️🦩

Yes indeed Ashcombe it was Ramslade which was closed for a lot of the time we were there as it was undergoing a complete overhaul/refurbishment. As assistant wardens we lived on site in our touring caravan on what was literally a building site. We escaped from the madness by thoroughly investigating Torbay, such a lovely area, so many beautiful sights. Loved our time in the South West.

EkwaNimitee Mon 01-May-23 09:07:26

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey, cool Carlisle.
It rained on and off all yesterday so no getting out for a walk or gardening. We had about an hour of sun in the late afternoon, just to show there still was one I suppose....
It was a day spent reading and doing admin, then some sorting out of clothes for the charity shop including some barely worn black trousers. They turned out to be 'ankle grazers' when they arrived, a trend I loath, but I thought I ought to try and like them. I can't, I still think they look silly! DH used to have some saying about 'inviting your trousers down to party with your feet' whenever I put on a pair of too short trousers. Always remember it when I try these things!
Today I'd like to get outside to do something, gardening preferably but it's going to be a usual Monday for me, the laundry is ready to go in the washer and some cleaning may occur. Trips out are best left to when others have gone back to work or school.

Have the best possible day all.

dustyangel Mon 01-May-23 09:10:19

Oopsadaisy a few tears might have been shed.

EkwaNimitee Mon 01-May-23 09:10:28

And I hope you are OK Marydoll, best wishes

BlueSapphire Mon 01-May-23 09:23:26

Good morning everyone from a grey but dry Northampton.

Mick, the Brackley Morris Men have just been on BBC Radio Northampton! They are now in the pub, having a full English and no doubt a pint, having been dancing since before 6am. They will soon be off to a couple of care homes to entertain the residents.

I enjoyed the 'Harod Fry' film yesterday, but thinking I had read the book several years ago, the story rang no belks, so perhaps I'm getting confused with a different book.

Hoping to get a bit of gardening done today, but showers are forecast later on, so we shall see.

Have a pleasant Mayday everyone.

luluaugust Mon 01-May-23 09:26:17

Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. Yesterday was quite productive with lots of china washing and I am going to part with a few mugs and cups and rearrange the shelves today, it doesn't sound much but I think it will be enough for me, the covid jab on Saturday has left a large red patch on my arm which is very painful.
Good luck gM for tomorrow.
Fingers crossed Ash
I also hope Marydoll is ok.
Best wishes to all

Sar53 Mon 01-May-23 09:28:54

Good morning from Essex by the sea. The sun can't decide whether or not it is going to shine today.
DH has gone for a quick trip to the boat then we are going to his eldest daughter this afternoon.
Thinking of you Gingster, much love xx
I hope you all have a lovely Bank Holiday Monday xxx

hollysteers Mon 01-May-23 09:41:01

Good morning and May Day from the northwest coast
On my way to London for the first leg of my Orient Express trip with DD, hoping I have everything I need, goodness knows I have checked it all enough…
Mick our Morris Dancers feel too old and decrepit to dance around today 🥲
Thoughts to all with worries
