I've come across the term 'coronated' when it came to a dead tree which is still standing where a crown shape has been cut into the top of the tall stump for insects to nest etc.

I haven’t come across anything pertaining to ‘foreigners’ or fear and dislike of different people on here. What do you mean, xenophobic? Are you one of those people who looks for racism where it doesn’t exist ?

Coronated was initially an adjective meaning crown-shaped. Increasingly common usage which appears to have started in the U.S.A. has led it to now being occasionally used as a verb as an alternative to crowned, Personally, I think it's an ugly word, and don't see why anyone would choose to use it as an alternative. I'll stick with "crowned", thanks.

People suffering dementia deserve the same respect as those who aren't, IMO. The fact they are unaware does not make it acceptable to use terminology that degrades them.

If the word "toileted" doesn't bother you, then fine - but it can be seen as de-humanising, in which case it shouldn't be acceptable to use it when dealing with dementia patients.

Dickens I think it’s to do with us denigrating our American cousins for bastardising our beautiful English language
