Good Morning Tuesday 16th May 2023
(46 Posts)Good morning from a sunny Bristol. Wasn’t it cold last night? So unexpected.
Well done, Mick. Things are moving fast now.
Had my post-cataract checkup yesterday. It seems half a year since the operation, not a measly seven weeks. The lovely young man told me my eyesight was as good as the average teenager’s! Need new glasses, but not a second operation yet as he thinks the left eye isn’t bad at all.
Did a tiny bit of shopping in the town centre then came home.
Today, I’ve got several calls to make; dentist, library…
I hope everyone is enjoying the increasing warmth and have a gentle day.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩❤️
Good morning from a bright, sunny Wiltshire Mick, hope all your hospital op preparations go smoothly 🤞🏻
I really enjoyed my first acrylics art class yesterday, very different to watercolours and much more messy 😊 I took a new friend with me, she’s much more experienced at painting than I so really good to learn from her too.
My lovely gardener neighbour spent a couple of hours helping me with my front borders, we’re getting there! It’s looking much better, just one more border to do.
I was very tired by the evening but I really enjoyed my day.
Today dog walker comes, I will get the housework done while she’s out then start on the final border.
Have a lovely day everyone x
Good morning from a bright and sunny Sarthe. Wish I felt the same!
This cough is becoming boring now especially when it’s troublesome at night. I shouldn’t moan - others have to suffer far more serious conditions.
I’m glad all went smoothly for Mick’s and grandMattie’s appointments.
Yesterday DH shopped for bedding plants along with our cleaner/gardener to advise. She’ll be back on Thursday to plant them in pots. No hanging baskets this year: watering is too onerous, especially for her when we’re not here.
Have a good day, everyone! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
Good morning grandMattie, it sounds like things are going well for you! Definitely a cold night, but hopefully warmer weather on its way 🤞🏻
Good morning from a sunny South Downs.
There is a fly in the bedroom driving me mad. Hopefully the cold north wind has retreated back to its rightful home and I can put back a big rhododendron pot that it keeps blowing over
The woods have a quality of quiet calm about them at the moment clothed in white and green. Frothy billows of cow parsley and the May bushes are covered in flower. I’ll try to remember to take my phone with me and take some photos, it is so fleeting though and soon will be set to seed.
Today is a bit of housework like mick and then I’m going into the garden.
Enjoy the sun everyone if you have it
Good morning from a Cornwall hospital bed, seventh day on the medical admissions ward, yikes. The staff are marvellous though. The forecast is sunny. Missing my patio and imagining the various mint plants that I crush and sniff every morning. Wondering how tall my echium are - 10 feet high when I came in to hospital. Glad to hear you're flowering finally Marydoll. Today... eat/tests/cuppa/eat/tests/cuppa etc ha ha ha
Good morning, s somerset is expecting sun and a perfect drying day
New group yesterday was wonderful, I loved it, the welcome, all of it. New friendships appearing, I sense it
Bedroom work is almost done, I de-cluttered a lot yesterday, without regret, a little more to do today and it will be finished. It helps that the charity shop is close by and the salvation army bin is also close to me
I might cycle today, I might read outside, as always my day just evolves but the bedroom decluttering has priority
Have a lovely day
Good morning from Shropshire where another sunny day is forecast.
A satisfying day yesterday getting laundry and housework up to date while DH worked on the gardens.I like everything neat and tidy.
Today I have a podiatry appointment first thing then we’re off to Staffordshire.
Ash we had the cough for several weeks and finally made a drs appointment at which point the cough disappeared🙄I hope you feel better soon.
Mizuna I hope you are able to go home soon.
Have the best day you can everyone🦩
Good morning all from a sunny Black country, up early today I couldn't sleep no reason why.
Ash DH cough lasted 3wks it was very draining for him ended up at drs and a coarse of antibiotics.
No plans as such for today will see what DH wants to do perhaps a walk around the arboretum.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire, where the sun is up and there’s no breeze today. I cut the front lawn yesterday with the new Flymo. It definitely doesn’t fly at the mo - doesn’t like long grass, and tends to spray grass cuttings everywhere. It was quite a workout. Still, it is easier to carry than the big mower so I will be able to get it up the steps at the back.
This morning I am going for coffee with my niece, my great niece, and my great great niece, who is one tomorrow! Then this afternoon I will put some of the plants I have grown into their final positions - cosmos, snap dragons and bedding dahlias to go with the new perennials. It’s all coming together quietly. We will have a garden this year.
Have the best day you can, folks.
Good morning all from cloudy South Lanarkshire.
Another quiet day ahead, I’m still feeling a bit wabbit although this bout of covid is nowhere near as bad as my last one.
Yesterday I crocheted a few triangles for bunting for our forthcoming gala week but have many more to do so that will be my task for today.
Wishing everyone the best possible day.
Morning Mick, morning All. Good to wake to a clear sky over our corner of Somerset.
Yesterday brought a sense of relief when we found a gift for a friends 80th birthday. She really is a woman who has (too much of) everything. Enjoyed collecting the dynamo from school. We were greeted with great enthusiasm. A repeat performance on our own next week.
Busy one today. Grocery delivery, bed changing, laundry, dust removal followed by physio for me just after lunch with admin to round off the day. The big computer is off to the computer hospital tomorrow so needs must.
Good news about your eyes grandmattie. Oh heck mizuma and ash. For different reasons you must both be wanting to be better very soon. Good news greyd, wish our garden was coming together, just haven’t been able to give it the attention it needs.
Best be off. Good idea to be dressed when the groceries arrive. Go gently everyone.
Morning all from Kew. After yesterdays visit to the V&A I will spend time in Kew Gardens today - once I’ve taken granddaughter to school! Our gardener is coming today so I’ve reminded OH. Have a good day!
Morning from a sunny but chilly S Hants, 6 and the heating has kicked in.
Good news gMattie for your eyes.
Yesterday I saw a Dr to check my nose (cauterised in February) all ok and had my ears microsuctioned at a pharmacy, for a price, I only had it done last October.
Today is farm shop, a walk and cleaning of bathrooms.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° with hazy sunshine. Ash a troublesome cough is so debilitating, isn't it? Mizuna hopefully things will move quickly when they eventually move. baubles 💐 Susan I'm another neat and tidy lover.
Yesterday was a nice day with dgs2. We walked to the swings and he managed there and halfway back on his own wee legs. Lots of activity in the house plus the walk meant he had a nap for two and a half hours. When he woke up he was full of mischief. After DD picked them up, I visited mum who was able to hold a conversation for quite a while. Visiting stops at seven which seems very early to me but I suppose they have their reasons.
Today will be a rerun of yesterday. Playing, napping (dgs2, not me!), nursery pick up then hospital. I'm making chicken curry for dinner. Have a good day all
Good morning from a sunny but only 3 degrees Oxfordshire.
Breakfast out this morning, then only the loft and Garage to declutter, both will have to wait u til the better weather.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a grey and drizzly start to the day
Hoping you’re back home soon Mizuna and sitting in your garden
A busy day ahead, I’m meeting a friend for coffee this morning and then I’ve an optician appointment. Later in we’ll be picking up DGD from school, helping with the after school activities and then bringing her back here for a sleepover. First thing tomorrow I’m off to DD1 in Cambridge and I’ve got to finish my packing too so it’s all go today!
Enjoy Kew Gardens Llfl, I’d love to visit there again one day, I was there many years ago and it was beautiful
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning from sunny Colchester. I have caught the Gransnet cough 😷 Sore throat and ear on one side and runny nose.
No charity shop volunteering today then.
Extra rest has made me realise that we need new pillows, so I'll research and order some while I'm loading up on liquids and paracetamol.
Love to all 🦩 x
Morning all from a sunny North Leicestershire.
Not much on here today - a bit of admin and pootling and faffing.
Have a good day all.
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its 10°C.
That"s great news about your eyes GM. Baubles, good to hear from you, I was wondering how you were.
Mizuna, I hope they get to the bottom of things and you can get home.
I plan to do little today. I had an awful day yesterday healthwise, with vertigo, breathlessness, a persistant headache and nausea. My busy weekend caught up with me.
My only planned task today is to wait in the surgery queue, my GP wants to speak to me, so I have to make an appointment.
If he wants to speak to me, why not just give me an appointment? 🤷♀️
Its good to hear of all the busyness and garden activities, I'm desperate to get out and put ours back order now that my arbour has arrived, Every thing was moved to make way for it.
The decking also needs power washing, but like the remote control, DH has sole possession of the washer, so I must be patient. I have planted the seed in his head, in fact a whole packet, to no avail, 😉
Have a good day all and best wishes for all un sick bay. 💐
Good morning from a sunny N. Bucks.
DGS3 will be here soon and then we shall walk down to town and meet DD3 for a coffee.
This afternoon we will go to Costco for a few things we know are cheaper there.
Wishing all a pleasant day.
Good morning from a lovely sunny day in Essex by the sea.
We are off to Bluewater this morning, I'm hoping the M25 and the Dartford Crossing are queue free.
I've told DH that we are eating out today, not always easy as he is garlic intolerant and it can be hard to find a meal that doesn't include garlic. He gets a bit fed up with fish and chips !!!!
I hope that all appointments go well, that all coughs start to abate and that you all have a good day xxx
Morning all from a sunny S Yorks, where its warm enough to have the french windows open while I have my morning latte.
Yesterday I twigged my back again so badly I couldn't walk - had meds with me out and about - but I have a physio have known for years, also she's a yoga teacher so can advise - at 10am much looked forward to. She's retired but does a few patients from home so charges are not through the roof.
Always interesting to read of everyone's days. Greyduster good you'll have a garden, other gardens coming along, and sorry you are still stuck in hospital Mizuna.
Bests for outings and poorlies.
Good morning from a sunny but windy NE, the heating is on so it must have been a cold night.
Had some time in the garden, removed last year's geraniums from the pots on the patio.
I thought I would have an hour with my novel but fell asleep, I get so tired these days.
SIL collected my sister from the airport, my other sister had done her shopping and turned on the fridge so she is all set for her six weeks here.
Thrilled to see photographs of GD on her school FB page, she is going to be playing Mufasa in the school production of the Lion King 🦁
Another quiet day with little jobs to do. I have a new battery operated brush from Lakeland so will try it out on the hob extractor, unbelievable how tacky it gets considering how little I fry.
Hope poorly People improve soon.
