Good Morning Everyone,
Another bright and clear sky here in brackley at the moment.
Yesterdays trip to JR apart from basic pre op health check , they required 5 blood samples and it took 3 different people nurse wise to eventually get it all .
But again got there early ,and seen early made it more of a pleasant day out .
Today maybe Bicester on the bus and usual routine , and later watch Giro on TV .
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning Wednesday 17th May 2023
(49 Posts)Good morning from a sunny Sarthe but not very warm due to a NE wind.
A better night could mean our coughs are on the wane but we’ve been here before. No plans as both of us lack much energy although DH will probably use his lawn tractor which he finds therapeutic.
I wonder how Urmstongran is; I know she was taking a break but it’s been a while.
Happy hump day! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩
Morning Mick, morning All from a clear corner of Somerset.
Didn’t stop yesterday with this and that other than a break for a cuppa on the way home after physio. Slept well anyway so perhaps not a bad thing
Quieter day ahead. Some general faffing, will take our big computer to the computer hospital late morning and have some lunch on the way home. Not sure what else other than there are new plants to water, we’re not used to dry days
.
Pleased you had a better night ash, 🤞 the cough is retreating. I also think of urms, I hope she’ll be back when the time is right for her. You’re getting there mick, hope all goes smoothly now.
Take care everyone. Have the best day you can.
Good morning from a bright Bristol. Very light wind, but it’s very chilly.
You must feel like a pincushion, Mick! Glad the coughs are “less worse”, Ash; long may it last.
I achieved a lot yesterday - did a weekly shop locally, using my birthday trolley; a brilliant piece of equipment. Registered at the (non NHS) dentist, and was surprised to be charged fully before even starting! Got myself a library card, borrowed a couple of books and managed to register online…
Today, I’m investigating a church women’s guild. May/not carry on going. We’ll see.
With the beautiful weather, I’ve nearly finished the washing and shall hang it out in a bit; as usual hiding my “smalls” so as not to offend. 🤣
Have a good day, all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩❤️
Good morning from a bright South Downs
ashcombe what you need is some warm balmy days and your coughs will clear then I am sure.
All the starlings are bringing their fledglings to the garden to be fed and what a racket! Talk about demanding. Everything. Is gone in the blink of an eye, but I won’t put. More out until the morning as they have the whole of the downs to find grubs etc.
The birds get very tame when they are looking for food for their offspring. They have done an outstanding job of stripping my roses of aphids though - well done them.
Nothing planned except more planting etc. and might sit in the sun if it is warm enough.
Have a good day everyone
Good morning all. We are going to Fuerteventura later on - our first flight for well over 4 years. I’ve woken up very achy this morning probably after a busy day yesterday. Will need painkillers before I can travel.
We had DGS on Monday this week. He has caught chickenpox from his sister inevitably. He had some spots but was in an excellent mood. By yesterday apparently he had hundreds and was grotty. He is obsessed with jigsaws and can do a 25 piece one unaided. Not bad as he was only 2 last month. What’s really nice is the puzzle was his mums.
Wishing everyone a good day. I think the weather forecast is reasonable for the next few days.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the sun is putting in an appearance early. Yesterday I spent a lovely couple of hours with my niece, her daughter and lively granddaughter who is one today. Then I came home and finished off the front lawn, trimming the edges and tidying the rockery bed which looks very colourful at the moment. I had intended to put some plants in the back border, but ran out of time (and energy!). Poetry group at the library today and a bit of shopping before I catch the bus home.
Enjoy your day, folks.
good morning, lovely spring weather ahead today and yesterday was glorious
I noticed the baby birds too, tiny bluetits pecking about amongst my gooseberries. I love the bird chatter at this time of year. Perfect weather right now, warm days and cool nights
Definitely some exercise for me this morning and the only `work` I am doing is to make a large turkey/leek casserole for ready meals. I need to work hard to clear freezer space, I see a large number of berries appearing outside
Have a lovly day
Good morning from sunny Wiltshire! So lovely to see the sun shining isn’t it?
Off to the dentist first thing, I might be tempted to come home via the garden gender (the opposite way to the way home!) , I don’t actually need anything but….. 😀
DD and her dog are here for a few days so it’s a bit chaotic as the two dogs play nonstop.
Hopefully will sit outside and read later, bliss!
Enjoy the sunshine 🌞
karma they are getting rid of the gooseberry sawflies for you🙂
Good morning from Shropshire.Another sunny day forecast.
We had a pleasant drive over to Stafford yesterday. We had our picnic at the castle before collecting DGS from school. He had been bitten by another little boy which had upset him but a Rice Krispie cake grandpa had made him in the shape of a cat put a smile on his face.
Today we are collecting DGD from school at lunchtime then along with DD we are going to Llandudno to Venue Cymru to watch Annie. We will have fish and chips before travelling home.
Have the best day you can everyone 🦩
Morning all from what seems like a sunny Kew. Once I’ve taken granddaughter to school I’m going to get the tube and visit the National Gallery. I too hope Urms and her family are well. Have a good day everyone.
Good morning all from an overcast Black country but I believe it will be sunny later, I do hope so have put some washing on.
Nursery pick up today and then perhaps a trip to garden centre compost is running low.
Safe travels those on the move, best wishes anyone celebrating and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Wednesday everyone and may you all find some ☀️.
Good Morning everyone from sunny Severnside.
I’ve pegged out a line of washing which I remembered to put in the machine yesterday evening.
My friend is coming in a few hours and then I have an appointment in town. Not sure whether to go to an event this afternoon or carry on weeding. I made good progress with my front garden yesterday.
Have a lovely day all 🌞🌺
Morning all
DH and I are exhausted after a long weekend at Legoland with two GC. The Imp and the 8yr old loved the rides, especially the fast ones, and were well behaved in the formal of the two restaurants in the evening.
Came back home to find one of our resident
vixens on the lawn with her cub.
I will forward your kind thoughts to Urmstongran
Have a good day folks 🙋♀️🦩
Good morning from a sunny North Leicestershire.
We have wondrous Wolfie today so I had better get a move on.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning from sunny Colchester. Rain is forecast for lunchtime but the forecast has been wrong in the last few days and it's stayed dry.
I still have a cough and cold and so will miss Wednesday coffee.
Love to all 🦩 x
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9°. It's still sunny which brightens up my spirits. Grannygravy what a lovely photo. Glammagran enjoy your holiday.
Yesterday was another nice day spent in the company of dgs2. Boy does he have a temper though! The toddler tantrums are very close. Most of the time, he's very sweet. So a toddle to the swings, then the garden then in for a biscuit then nap.
Today I'm looking after him for the morning to let dd get on spring cleaning. Her normal Wednesday childcare fell through today. I don't mind as I have nothing planned and it'll be a repeat of yesterday. Then I'll visit mum after DD picks him up. She was sitting up last night when I went in, watching TV and intent on eating a chocolate chip muffin. There wasn't much conversation! Have a good day all.
Good morning. Sun is out, so hopefully another bright day.
Hairdressers this morning. My hair is certainly ready for a cut. My hairdresser had the cheek to be on holiday when my cut was due so there is a couple of extra weeks growth to deal with
.
Craft club this afternoon. My turn to lead the project. I’m hoping to get them all doing some art work. It’ll be interesting to see how they do as most of them assure me they can’t paint.
A good day wished for all with a smile along the way.
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, with sun poking through the clouds. It's 10°C .
I crammed a lot into yesterday. I actually managed to speak to a GP and after much discussion, I am to have a full check up tomorrow, to see what is going on and attempt get to the bottom of why I feel so awful.
This constant feeling of being unwell, is very frustrating and dragging me down and curtailing my busyness..
Yesterday, I cleaned the dispenser in the tumbler drier, cleaned out the drain in the washing machine, (that was where the smell was emanating from, we were blaming Babydoll's nappy) and did various other jobs, which were overdue.) DH wasn't slacking, he was trying to repair the garden gate, which has been banging in the wind for ages.
However, I had to give up on the garden, the vertigo raised its ugly head again. My GP thinks it may be exertion related, linked to my heart.
The afternoon was spent, resting in the conservatory, watching foreign language rubbish. Those Russian films ( I have now moved on from Turkey) are so depressing! 😉
Who knows, I may get permission from my GP to become a lazy gran!
Today we plan to sort the solar water fountains and move some tubs back in place. My room is to supervise.😉
I have my seventh Covid booster this afternoon, but need to travel to Paisley for it. DH will take me, just in case, I have a reaction.
There just happens to be a little boutique, which sells Italian clothes, right next to the venue. I promise to only look,😉 the prices are eye-watering.
GM, glad to hear you are more settled.
Enjoy your holiday, glamma and hoping all the poorlies, including Mizuna are on the mend soon.
Wising you all a pleasant day, whatever your plans.
My room is not to supervise, it's my ROLE!
Good morning all. According to my BBC weather app it's a glorious sunny morning here - perhaps it will be soon! Glad all went well for you yesterday Mick - enjoy a more normal day today.
Glad the coughs are gradually improving Ash. I too was thinking of Urms the other day - her posts were always so gentle and kind.
A gorgeous photo of the vixen with her cub grannygravy. Strangely, though living in a country area, I've seen only one fox here in all the time I've been here - a good few deer though. Our main residents are wood pigeons and I love their cooing call - but not their mess!! There was a glorious thrush sitting on the fence a few minutes ago but sadly she was too busy to stop for a chat.
Dancing GD's End of Year show was (of course 😉) really good last night. I love watching her dance, but it's strange too as to me she is so very like her daddy who died when she was 12. Not that I can imagine him pirouetting across the stage though!
Today is just an at home day, pottering around enjoyably. I shall strip the bed and get the bedding washed as the grey sky is being pushed out to sea, slowly but surely.
Have a good hump day everyone x
Morning from S Lanarkshire, still cloudy but some brightness appearing. It was odd to see Urmstongran’s name, I had literally just been wondering how she was and hope she is well.
That is a delightful picture Grannygravy, thank you.
I’ve had a very busy few days and am looking forward to having lunch with DGD1 in Glasgow. This will be our last for her first year as her exams are next week and she’ll be back living at home for the summer. She has a job in a local care home which she’ll be good at, she’s a very kind girl and it will be good for her too.
Her mum is still lying on her side with ten minute breaks after her operation for a detached retina last week, hopefully this has helped ensure the best possible outcome. She still can’t see anything but there is light now.
Wishing everyone a pleasant day.
GrannyGravy that’s a lovely photo. Reminds me of the mum and cub napping at the bottom of our garden - until a child whose garden abutted ours - and her father!! - decided to throw quite large stones at the cub to “wake it up”!! I couldn’t believe it, tore him off the most awful strip and threatened to call the police if he didn’t stop. They were a dreadful family. The foxes disappeared and sadly we never saw them again!
Good morning from a 10 degree Sunny Oxfordshire, I hope the wind has dropped, it was so cold yesterday. I know, I’m never satisfied.
Baking day today for Nephews birthday tomorrow, they will drop in after a dog walk. I’ll cook them a meal as well that they can take home with them, of course Nephew might not come, but we will see.
MissOops consultants appointment wasn’t very helpful, there are no different pain killers that she can take other than Tramadol and the only treatment for her is fusing her finger joints. Lots to think about, I feel so for her, she doesn’t deserve to have so many health problems, she is the sunniest girl.
Anyway, it is what it is.
We are off to Wales on Friday for a week, so a bit of sorting of clothes to do, do I take warm clothes or do I take Summer clothes? , I will probably take both and fill the car, with MrOops asking me whatever am I doing taking so much.
Have a good day everyone, hugs for those who aren’t so chipper.
