Good Morning Wednesday 17th May 2023

I am sorry you were used like a pincushion Mick but of course at my age I immediately thought of the Tony Hancock scene of the "armful" of blood being given at the blood donors!! That shows my age no doubt!! It has been lovely and sunny, but after driving my marathon 366 miles in 24 hours because of the train strike I am still very very tired and trying to catch up with things, but today just accepted that I was just too shattered to do anything much, even though I longed to have a go in the garden as the flipping dandelions are appearing all over and going to seed, GRR!!! Just cannot bend down to dig them out, chopping the heads off helps a bit but not much. So have been off on the yellow peril to do a little shopping in the market and treated myself to a very good cup of coffee and a lovely apricot danish. Delicious and I felt I deserved it, so am ignoring the nudge that says not good for a diabetic!! Hope it is good tomorrow and then I shall get down to the hand washing . My precious cashmere jumpers only survive so long because I wash them carefully by hand and need a good day for them to dry. Just hadnt got the energy to do them today. This is when I realize I am getting very ancient. Can do what is necessary but it takes so long to get up to speed again. ah well thats life , better than the alternative!!

Another one here wondering how Urmston is getting on. I miss her posts.

The skip arrived and is being filled. The garden needed a good tidy up.

I can put anything in it apart from a fridge freezer. I suggested nuclear waste and the man just said "don't tell me!"

I'm beginning to think there are more foxes in the towns than there are in the countryside! I remember when DD was at Glasgow uni the small park local to her there was over-populated with them and the dog was petrified to go there!

I have had nothing to say really, so have kept quiet and just read the posts. GrandMattie, I am so pleased that you have finally moved, and hope you are settling in and becoming comfortable in your new home.
Last Friday I had a frightening moment when driving home from town. My vision went 'swooshy' , luckily DH was with me and could continue driving home. My oncologist nurses were helpful and took me through a long list of questions. There has been no recurrence, but I did get my eyes tested as a precaution.
Then on Monday, I visited my neighbour, and fell into her hallway, giving her an awful fright. I am bruised but OK
The only aches are from my Covid jab on Tuesday.
This morning we have painted one side of the shed, after getting rid of an old bench. Front and back, another day. It does look a lot better and soaked up the paint.
Now I am for for nothing and will have a lazy afternoon.

A late good morning from me today, I’ve had a busy morning getting DGD off to school and myself to the airport for my flight to Luton. I’m here now though so can relax! Flight is showing a small delay but I’ll be there soon enough

dry in this corner of Lancashire and feeling warm with a gentle breeze.

I will take advantage of the weather again to dry more laundry, soon be time to pack away the thermals and get out the summer dresses. I’m sorting through paperwork ready for a financial review and I will make time for a walk.

Good your coughs are settling Ash, hope you get some warmer weather. What a busy bee Corner, hope your computer is easily fixed.

Sounds like you’re settling in well GM, NHS dentists are few and far between here too. The staff at our private dentist are lovely and have been happy with any treatment so I’d hate to change.

Taichinan although we are not far from the city centre we are surrounded by farmland and a golf course. We have occasionally seen a fox trotting quite happily along the pavement opposite our house, always late at night. No idea if it’s the same fox though.

Like many of you I’m enjoying the birdsong. The dawn chorus starts early here, I have wondered if it’s affected by the navigation lights on the dock entrance.

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Although it’s sunny, my bedroom gets cold, facing west. Another night of excruciating cramp in thigh and feet. Started earlier in the evening in my hands going into lockdown.
Salads regularly now in the warmer weather. Can’t face them in the winter.
Enjoyed music club yesterday although the turn out was not good and a couple of members have serious health problems. The starting time had been changed and we have decided to return to the original which may help.
Usual lunchtime recital in town today, then I will look for a larger suitcase with four wheels instead of the two wheels I have at the moment for my week away next month.. I’m reluctant to buy another as I have a variety of suitcases, but all two wheels.

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Very pleased to have finally got to the hairdressers yesterday, having had to cancel last week. Long telephone conversation with a friend yesterday morning, she was supposed to visit but had a sore throat, didn't stop us talking.
DH has to take the car for its service today so I am going to get him to drop me in town to do a few bits, otherwise hopefully a quiet day.

Morning all. Lovely to see the soops yesterday and my public transport journey went well even though a broken down train somewhere between Airdrie and Dumbarton was jamming up the system. My half-hour wait between trains was enlivened by the running commentary of another passenger who had already been waiting an hour and was following all the jammings online.

I concluded that AI, as far as train juggling, where there's a splinter in the system, has a long way to go.

I avoided any train shenanigans on the way home because MrSoop very kindly drove me back to the bus-only part of my journey. Their hospital appointment had been "fruitful".

Bought myself a wrist support thingy which I'll try out this afternoon for swimming – nine weeks since last time.

Good Morning from sunny Bourton on the water! If it works this is my 3rd attempt at posting this week. We arrived on Monday, my phone will no longer log on to Gransnet some am using my workbook.Before our journey I'd had a visit from my DGs I played I spy with my little eye beginning with M - he shouted back Menace! We often call him a menace!
Bourton is beautiful. Yesterday we visited the miniature village (as seen on Midsomer murders) and the motor museum, both a short walk from our lovely cottage which has the River Windrush rushing past.

Do I leave the greenhouse door open or close it ? Compromised , it’s half open ! I managed to add a few steps to my daily count yesterday, up and down opening and closing !
Off to the club this morning , reluctantly! It’s a music morning , I missed the last one but heard a lot of audience participation was expected , Not my cup of tea

Good morning Mick and everyone from bright Carlisle.
I played catch up with the housework yesterday morning then went into the garden after lunch. Not to plant anything new but to shift a conifer a foot along! It was offending my sense of aesthetics where it was especially as it was in view from my kitchen window. Now I've been looking at it and thinking 'is it absolutely vertical?'!

Today, probably the ironing and a bit more cleaning up ready for the weekend. Also admin to do, I need to book train tickets and a hotel for later in the autumn and will be praying the trains aren't on strike on the relevant days. When I booked an autumn holiday back in January, I told myself that it would all be settled by the time I went. Fat chance now....

Good morning from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea.
DH and I had a good day out in Bluewater yesterday, the traffic was kind and we enjoyed a Greek lunch.
I bought two lovely dresses in White Stuff and DH managed to get me 15% off the total bill. If you don't ask you don't get said the manager of the shop, win, win.
Today I have admin to attend to and a lasagne to make for dinner.

Easy day yesterday, did a small wash and got it dried outside before the showers started.
Gave myself the afternoon off and watched a film on Netflix, 23 walks, while I did my crossword.
Need to write a shopping list for tomorrow, last chance to buy anything I may need for my holiday.

It's a lovely morning here in West York's.We are going away for a couple of days ,hoping weather is kind so I can sit in the warmth of the day. I had my spring covi d booster on Sunday arm achy I always get a raised red lump at site . You gardeners sound very busy wish I liked it .It's pick up Gc day they are growing up fast.

Good morning all from a sunny Suffolk seaside.
Yesterday the weather was warm and sunny until mid afternoon when it got very chilly as we sat out having a cuppa. As we looked out , we saw a lady arrive on the beach and strip off to go in for a swim.🥶.

We walked in the deserted forest yesterday and the rhododendrons were in bloom. So pretty.

Had an early evening drink with our pals who are staying close by. The husband, my DH’s old school friend , has advanced Parkinson’s and it’s sad to see him struggling now. They’re coming for a meal with us on Thursday.

Today we’ll go to our local nursery for some bedding plants. No frills there - no cafe or gift shop - just good quality plants.

Good morning from a 10 degree Sunny Oxfordshire, I hope the wind has dropped, it was so cold yesterday. I know, I’m never satisfied.
Baking day today for Nephews birthday tomorrow, they will drop in after a dog walk. I’ll cook them a meal as well that they can take home with them, of course Nephew might not come, but we will see.
MissOops consultants appointment wasn’t very helpful, there are no different pain killers that she can take other than Tramadol and the only treatment for her is fusing her finger joints. Lots to think about, I feel so for her, she doesn’t deserve to have so many health problems, she is the sunniest girl.
Anyway, it is what it is.
We are off to Wales on Friday for a week, so a bit of sorting of clothes to do, do I take warm clothes or do I take Summer clothes? , I will probably take both and fill the car, with MrOops asking me whatever am I doing taking so much.
