Good Morning Tuesday 21st April 2026
Good Morning Everyone,
Looking a dull grey sky this morning but dry here in brackley .
Yesterday , a day of hell on the roads , roadworks plus temp lights etc and accidents causing diversions .
I also have got my surgery date for next month so will be relaxing and enjoying things while I have a chance .
Today , do I stay in and watch the Giro , a race marred by weather conditions such ice, snow and rain in Italy .
Or do I do my usual routine and go out?
Take Care,
Mick
Hope you are having a lovely birthday Ash 🍰🍾🍾.

A late good morning to you all on a cloudy Algarve morning although the temperature is 22°.
I’ve been for my leg to be redressed this morning, it’s slowly improving but I have to return at least twice more before it is healed.
Much to my surprise when I saw the dermatologist yesterday afternoon he was very helpful and completely charming, told me that he knows he has a very long waiting list to see him so if I have any problems just to ‘wander in’ and wait outdoors his clinic. I can imagine irate receptionists barring my way but we shall see what happens next. At least he treated several small lesions on my face to stop them get worse.
Grandmabatty💐
Happy Birthday 🎁🎂🎉🥳 Ash.
Auntieflo I'm just a year ahead of you. Where did it all go?!
Ekwanimity have a nice easy day today. I had my booster at the beginning of April and had totally forgotten about it! (I didn't even feel the needle go in - maybe it didn't?!)
Same for you Marydoll - nothing wrong with a duvet day, especially if it gives you the strength for a more active day the next 😉
My waking thoughts this morning were for Urms and Hinself.
Good morning Mick, Annie and all. It's cloudier and cooler than yesterday here, but still not bad. The volunteer gardeners came this morning and did a tidy up, cutting back the phormium that looked quite dead. There may be a couple of green shoots, but when DS2 comes at the end of the month, I will see if he can pull out the dead roots.
Happy birthday Ashcombe, mine will be on Monday, 81 oh dear!
I did get the front of the shed painted, and we had our new kitchen blind put up yesterday. I am very pleased with it. Now, what can I make with the fabric from the old one that I had made?
Marydoll, will you have a couple if duvet days? Thinking of you.
Also of Urmstongran and her DH .
What a shock for your neighbours Pittcity. Last night our road had notes posted through all the doors, by the Police, as there had been a theft from a car recently. Makes you feel unsettled.
Have a good day one and all.
Good morning from East Lothian where it is bright but cloudy.
Not much done yesterday apart from unpacking the van and restocking the fridge. DD’s was a no go area due to DGS having brought a stomach bug back from his school trip. I may risk visiting today if he hasn’t passed it on to the rest of the family. I want to tackle the weeds so should be safe enough in the fresh air. DGS’s will keep well away if there is work to be done 😂
Mick can you use a catch-up service to watch the Giro later? Then you could stick with your routine 🙂
Shazza, your GD sounds like a bright button 🥰
Grandmabatty, Marydoll and others with current challenges for themselves or loved ones 💐
Morning all. It started off sunny here, but now the clouds are rolling in and we can expect showers.
Yesterday son in law came to change the gaskets in my kitchen mixer tap. Wonderful, the drips stopped! DH got up before me, walked I to the kitchen in his socks, straight into a large puddle of water. There is now a leak under the sink caused son in law says by the increased pressure in the tap. He's off to find another washer, hopefully here in town. I'm on a water meter, this is proving expensive.
Have a good day everybody.
Good Morning from sunny Bourton. I have yet read all of the posts, but taking advantage of a quiet moment to write! Yesterday we went to the lovely town of Cirencester for the day. we went on the bus, which was quite small and the driver seemed to know most of his passengers. Couldn't take photos Because my phone battery was running out! It's an amazing area, so much to do, love the cottage we are in. Think we are taking a bus to Cheltenham today to explore another town
Happy birthday Ashcombe have a wonderful day.
Have the best day possible folks!
Good Morning from an overcast N.,Cambs.,
Many Happy Returns for Ashcombe, enjoy your birthday,
.
We're off to our little home-from-home in W.,Norfolk later today, after I've had my covid spring booster.
I hope all the poorly folk have a better day.
A later good morning from S Lanarkshire and a Happy Birthday to Ash, good that your coughs have improved enough to enjoy the day.
A difficult time for you just now Grandmabatty, thank goodness you have the joy of your grandchildren to help raise your spirits.
DD had her post eye operation appointment yesterday and while things aren’t exactly tickety boo, the op itself was successful. She’ll see the surgeon again in four weeks.
I’m waiting for the arrival of 10 year old DGD who is coming to stay for the weekend and I’m looking forward to that.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.
Good morning everyone. It's a warm(ish) sunny day on the Angus coast. Dare we hope winter has at last moved on?
I'm posting first and reading later today as I was so late getting up. I'm not falling asleep until silly o'clock at the moment (round about 3.30 last night) so need that occasional long lie for a bit of a catch up.
Nothing remarkable to report from here. Tai chi was lovely as always yesterday. I stood back and watched them do the first set and they did it so well. At times like that there is such a lovely calm energy in the hall. Which is wonderful - but then what do I teach?!
A day of pottering ahead and just perhaps some time sitting in the garden by the pond. Have lovely busy days everyone x
Good morning everyone. It’s cloudy and
damp in this corner of Lancashire. It’s been raining overnight and there’s more to come, glad I got my laundry dried already.
Housework and reading is on the agenda for today with either a walk or a turn on my exercise bike.
Great that you have your surgery date Mick, you deserve to have a relaxing day.
Happy birthday Ash, glad those coughs are going and the weather has improved.
Please take your own advice and rest Marydoll, you need to stock up on spoons!
Sorry you’ve had such a bad reaction to the booster Ekwa. I had similar after the first one and had to rest for a few days.
Have a good day all, hope any poorlies are soon on the mend. 🌻
Grandmabatty I’m sorry you’ve seen a deterioration in your Mum. Hoping she’s a little better when you go today.
💐
Marydoll hope your day in bed helps you feel better💐
Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull.
Wishing Ashcombe a very happy birthday🎂💐
This morning I may do a zoom yoga.
Picking up grandson from school and we’ll take him straight to McDonald’s as a treat. Hoping for a good report from his teachers today.
Yesterday when I picked up GD1 from pre school she told her teacher she likes Grandma and Grandad putting her to bed because she snuggles with us watching tv until she falls asleep and we give her supper and chocolate. So cute.
The three of us were snuggling on the sofa and DH was playing chess on his phone and I thought she’d fallen asleep but she sat up and said to DH ‘make sure you protect your queen Grandad’ 😂 she’s 4.
Have a wonderful day everyone 🌻🌻
I had a reaction to my booster EkwaNimitee, tiredness for a few days and nausea.
Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Sorted summer/winter clothes yesterday, washed blinking pigeon poo from patio and bins, but not much else.
Art this morning, always reluctant to go, but enjoy it once there. Slathered my feet in cream with cotton socks last night so expecting smoother skin for summer!
Many Happy Returns Ash, hope you have a nice day and thoughts to all with worries.
Good morning. Not had time to read through, will come back later. A Jack in the box day for me so better get going.
Wishing all a good day.
Good morning Mick and everyone from a Carlisle of sun and cloud. We had a little shower in the night which all helps with not needing to water, the garden job I don't like.
Yesterday was good..I got my covid booster and then went up to nearby B&Q and bought some bedding plants. They have gone entirely self-service at the checkouts but two or three helpful ladies were standing around. Just as well as it seemed every customer including me needed help. I asked one if they were actually saving staff. I got a low voiced reply to the effect that, no they were not!
In the afternoon I went to an interesting talk on the roots of the American song book. Our speaker proved to be a very talented raconteur, singer and keyboard player. He hails from Stockport and is still active musically. Probably as ancient as we were but definitely not looking it.
Today is not good. During the night I was hit by a reaction to the booster, it's never happened before. I shot awake with a racing heart, migraine, fever and chills. I have barely slept since 2.30pm and, though the symptoms have improved, I shall be frazzled. I'm planning on doing nothing!
Happy birthday to you Ash, enjoy the day.
And I hope you all have a good one.
Good morning from a cloudy day in Essex by the sea. Hopefully the sun will make an appearance later.
First off a very Happy Birthday to Ash, enjoy your special day.
I have a trip to the Post Office first thing then possibly a walk along the sea front.
We have someone coming to quote for an air conditioning unit late this afternoon. Our lounge has the sun all morning and can become very hot.
A visit to the Yacht Club this evening.
Have a great day everyone xxx
Good morning from a cloudy WKent.
A quick visit to the supermarket and then keeping an eye on DGS who finishes school early every Friday. Also a catch up with DGD now stuck in to GCSE’s. My biology knowledge has improved! helping her with revision.
Happy birthday Ash
Glad you have your appointment Mick
All the best to all
Morning all from cloud/sun in S Hants. Happy Birthday Ashcombe 🎂🎉🎈.
A day of deliveries here, B&Q, then Tesco, I must pick up some bits at M&S when there’s a gap.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩
A quick good morning from Cyprus - a cloudy day forecast.
Popped in to wish Ash a happy birthday and to add my voice to those sending good wishes to the Urms.
Good morning all from bright South Lanarkshire.
Happy birthday Ash, enjoy your quiet day.
We had a very pleasant lunch yesterday sitting outside our favourite cafe on Portobello promenade, DS was with us as it was his day off.
A leisurely day today until we do the school and nursery run for DD as DSiL, who usually does it, and eldest DGD are off to Dublin to cheer on their rugby team in the cup final.
Thinking of those with worries and cares especially Urms and her dear man.
Have the best possible day everyone.
Good morning from a rainy NE.
I have the CCTV maintenance this morning between 8 and 1, one of the cameras is malfunctioning so some outside work to do.
Appointment with solicitor was fine, we went through my will again and we finalised it so that is valid now, just waiting for LPA papers.
The car park was next to M&S in town so had a brief look in, came away with a pair of jeans, a jumper and a top that will do nicely for my holiday.
Happy Birthday Ashcombe.
Good morning from a sunny Black Country where rain is predicted for later.
Lovely sunny walk yesterday at a local Country Park, then cafe stop at the end. Lunch out with Mum, so a perfect day.
No real plans today. Gym this morning then maybe tackle some ironing!
Happy birthday Ash

Wishing you all a lovely day with special thoughts of Urms
