Gordon Bennett Soop! I hope you’re resting a bit and watching those birds.
Our cleaner came today which was a relief. I had bits of admin to do and then OH and I went out for lunch. It was lovely to sit outside in the sunshine (it’s a different story now as it’s cold and wet). Lunch was delicious. OH enjoyed liver and bacon, which he hasn’t had for years. I had fillet steak. I’m relaxing on the sofa now with one of the cats and reading Private Eye. Have a good evening.

I have cleared out the boys' room and ordered toy storage. What a load of rubbish I unearthed as well as toys they have outgrown or no longer play with. So a charity shop visit is on the cards. It's very therapeutic. Salmon salad for dinner later. Have a good evening Kitcheners

My D and I had a morning out again but back for a late lunch as rain was promised and it came.
We have spent a couple of hours reading, mine was with my eyes closed!!
We went to Rhyl to se if it had improved over the years.
Sad to say it hasn’t .
One more full day and then back to routine but it has been so enjoyable.
Thinking of Corner and her DH and so many others are never far from my mind.

I hope your headache has gone completely soop and that your head is not too sore. Scalps do bleed profusely. I expect Mr S is as shaken as you.
DH did something similar in the strawberry bed recently and flattened a section of plants but fortunately there wasn’t a wall in the way.
We have gardened and now its a quick shower before I make sausage rolls for the WI café tomorrow morning. To be honest, I’d rather have a nap! 😉

It’s been a lovely sunny day here in Inverness so after a busy morning at the gym I’ve been busy in the garden this afternoon. Feeling a bit whacked now so it’ll be a quiet evening in front of the TV

Thank you for asking neine, yes DH had his first tentative drive out today. I think he was a bit nervous but he was fine. I can hopefully hang up my chauffeur hat very soon now 😀
I’ve still got lots of toys here grandmabatty that the DGC have definitely outgrown. Funny thing is though that when they’re here they still get them out and play with them, they sort of regress a few years. One of their favourite games is still playing shop - it has become slightly more sophisticated over the years but basically I’ve still to go in and buy things 🤣

We don't see starlings much here, Kitty. One of my fond childhood memories is from when my dad took us into the Bowland Fells to watch a starling murmuration. It was awesome.

I think you’re probably right about rest being the best thing for PF, Foxy but it’s hardly practical, is it? The physio said three months in bed would cure it but I suspect you’d end up with a host of other problems instead. I did notice when I was hors de combat for almost a week last month with a kidney infection that my foot was much better for a few days.

Naughtyneine the recipe I used for ice cream I think was a Waitrose one. Basically, sugar, clotted cream, whipped cream and condensed milk all bashed up together. The best thing is that because it’s homemade, there are no calories! I’ll leave some here in the Kitchen for others to judge as to its merits.

Soop that fall sounds dreadful. You poor thing, you must be aching from head to toe. Take care, please. I love the photo of the birds. 🐦

It was a bit warmer here today as well, Brook - a heady 19.5deg. Do you follow Windy Wilson on Facebook? He’s ‘Scotland’s greatest amateur weather forecaster’ (and modest with it!) and his forecasts are generally pretty accurate. He’s v funny.

We began the day with our personal trainer putting us through our paces. We have a laugh with him, too. Next up was a visit to the dump with a ridiculous amount of cardboard. Then I returned the light fitment that didn’t fit, expecting them not to accept it because the packaging had been opened, but they refunded my money so good for them. I also returned some summer clothes that I purchased on a hot day down south but when viewed in a Scottish summer I knew I’d never wear. 😂

This evening I had a very frustrating call to a bank with whom I have had a credit card for 25+ years. They’ve blocked my account, basically because of a misunderstanding, and I had to send two forms of ID to them, to unblock it. I did that but they’re now claiming they didn’t receive the letter and want me to send the ID again. What don’t they understand about me not being able to resend it because they’re lost. 😫😫😫 So I’ve now got to scratch about to get other ID and start all over again. Gah!

Thanks for the retirement good wishes, the chucking out is making me feel better. Lots of happy memories being stirred up, I really was lucky to have a job I enjoyed with wonderful people.

Good morning all.
Thinking of Cornergran in her wait today.
Our last day here today and I have been out and taken some photos as a memory for me.
I will just show you three.
This is a 100 year old fishing lodge and country retreat built for his own use by the Architect who designed the Liver Building in Liverpool.
It was restored two years ago by the current owners.
It is both Ancient and Modern.
All luxury mod cons with original features retained.
Very very isolated, too much for some!!

The middle pic is my D in the hot tub, she has used it everyday.
The last one is our gate to the river.
Sadly the ground is too rough for me to go down the path.
Rather disappointing about that, but really not safe for me.

It looks lovely Annsixty. A bit too isolated for me too. Suedonim I follow Windy Wilson too. He's often more accurate than the Met. Office.
I was horrified at the amount of spiders webs and dust when I tackled the boys' bedroom this morning. However it's all sorted. I've even reorganised the wardrobe. I'm just waiting for the toy storage to arrive, then I'll build it and tackle the toys. Tomorrow is shopping for new curtains and a lampshade. I had unhappy news from a nurse about mum. Not unexpected but disappointing. She still has delirium and a degree of cognitive impairment. I have thought that for a while, so I'm not surprised but as she wouldn't do poa, we will be at the mercy of social services ultimately.

Those birds are cute, Soop. Today in the car I said to my passengers ‘’Look at all those oystercatchers!’. Granddaughter piped up ‘Nanna, what are moisture catchers?’ I think they’ll always been known as that now!

It’s been a wet day today, which is good for the garden but not much else, although the sun is now peeping out a little. GD is here until this evening, I’m about to start cooking her tea. Tomorrow we’ll have her wee brother until evening.

Our plans changed as DGD has been round here most of the day so I’ve been busy but happy. She bought 3 board games round to play so we’ve been doing that and not much else. The conservatory table is still covered with ‘Ticket to Ride’ and we’ve strict instructions not to move anything until she returns 🤣 no idea how long that will be! I’ve seen a few Facebook photos of DGS at ScotJam - he’s looking very wet most of the time!

Hello everyone. No news yet from the Corners?
I had a great time at Book Group. We talked about authors we had read recently and authors we wish had written more books. I said Jane Austen and P D James. OH is cooking tonight. Balti chicken with naan bread and rice, accompanied by yoghurt and aubergine pickle. Actually, it’s a new pickle as our favourite doesn’t seem to be made any more. It’s turned into quite a beautiful evening with blue skies and bright sunshine. Have a good evening, especially the Soops, the Corners and Urms.

Hi all, a dully, cloudy day, but humid.

We had a good chat with my with my daughter, grandchildren and my son, they all came round at the same time, talk was of holidays. Daughter plus children will be off to Menorca, son, his partner and her daughter off to Devon, both lots at different times, great to see them all.
Love the house ann, but too in the sticks for me.
I’m hoping Mrcorner is now recovering with corner in the background.

Corner has said thank you for all of the messages of support. It was a long operation but he is now in ITU. corner was not allowed to visit but she and one son are going late tomorrow morning. As you can imagine she is exhausted so is having an early night.
