neine you should write a book! 🤣
Should we pay kids to go to school?
Terrible relationship with DIL - am I the problem?
Mandelson failed security vetting. Starmer says he didn’t know
Here we are again...
Welcome to you lovely lot. Enjoy the buffet and open the chilled Champagne. There are limitless treats for everyone.
Thank you for being truly good, supportive friends.
[sunshine} and much more besides.
neine you should write a book! 🤣
Have noticed Urmstongran's absence recently but unaware of the cause. All best wishes to her and her family.
A warm welcome, Vintage1950
We've been out and about all day long. visited the lovely village of Skipness on the north side of the Kintyre Peninsula. there is a castle, a seafood smokehouse, gorgeous views across the Sound to the island of Arran. Will share pics with you tomorrow.
Sister was "speechless" when she opened the latest portrait of her new puppy dog. Apparently, she loves, loves, loves it.
Away to prepare for our evening meal. Something simple. Later, I shall raise the Friday evening glass of red wine to you all.

8Brook* that garden is beautiful-are you sure you have not photographed a small part of Kew Gardens?
The sun was shining again today but there was such a nasty wind I was shivering.
I am about to switch the heating on and cook supper before I pass away from hypothermia.
Amazing garden brk you should ve very proud.
That sky was down here too Blossoming but could we have some rain please? overnight if it suits!
A quiet day, prescription collected, watering, might have ordered a couple of plants to be delivered 🙂
We’ve just returned from our local, lovely to sit out in the sun, it was busy.
Change of plan with the children tomorrow as the beach we’d planned has roadworks n the way and will be so busy. So, we’re going crabbing an an inlet nearby, crab lines and nets are here, should be fun, they’re happy with that.
Enjoy your evening all.
Neine! 🤣🤣
Thank you, Blossoming. He’s doing ok, has put on a little weight and his main side effect now is tiredness. Once he’s finished treatment that should gradually abate. He’s still managing to go for a run once a week, even if he is overtaken by elderly folk and newly-walking toddlers!
The sunny weather has returned! It’s been delightful today. My DS2 has left to go back home but they didn’t leave until early afternoon so we had lunch out in the garden, eating at the patio table for the first time. Friday is the day I have my local baby GS and he was looking round for his cousins after they’d left. 😭 It’s been lovely to have them and such fun seeing all four cousins getting on together. There are a few early nights on the cards after keeping haphazard hours.
We’re putting the house to rights again - I laughed when i went to tidy away the toy farm. Most of the animals seem to have met untimely deaths as they’re all lying on their backs with their feet in the air. 🤣
Now for a weekend of calm - apart from the washing. I think this weather is to continue so that’s good.
TOYA. Xx
Hello all. I’ve had quite a good day. It was our WI Coffee morning and this month it was a ‘travelling’ one and not at the usual local cafe. We went to Filkins, which is a tiny Cotswold village. Coffee and cake at the Woollen Mill and a look round the shop. I bought some beautiful socks, fudge and a piece of chamois leather for the car. My mum and step father used to run the Post Office over 30 years ago. This was my first visit since they left. I am off to London tomorrow and have been working out an itinerary bearing in mind there are no trains and part of my main route into Oxford is blocked off. My daughter is taking me for lunch and the theatre in the South Bank as part of my 70th birthday present.
Have a lovely day tomorrow LadyLFL
Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. Hope everyone is as well as they can be and enjoying the sunshine. I did some laundry this morning and popped it out to line dry. There is a breeze and it’s in the sun, perfect. This afternoon we went for a walk around the marina and waved to the engine drivers on the steam train (trains not on the marina
).
There is a very handy little sitooterie behind the marina, made from part of the old dock machinery. It’s the perfect place to sit and enjoy an ice cream bought from the marina cafe before we wend our way back home.
Wishing you a very happy special day, Llfl
We often enjoyed short breaks in the Cotswolds. I would have loved to have visited the village of Filkins. I cannot recall ever hearing the name. I also find shopping at the Woolen Mill a happy experience. The little shop we visited yesterday in Skipness, which is affiliated to the Smokehouse, was a treasure trove of unusual gifts.
Shoulder pain is a buggeration. Has your OH been given the option of a steroid injection? Although the injection doesn't cure the problem, it does help to diminish the discomfort.
SueDonim Together with many Kitcheners, I continue to add my best healing wishes for a positive outcome after what must have been a stressful and tiring course of treatment for your son. I think that we should hold a wee celebration (in his honour) when he time is right.
Nannytopsy and Charleygirl You are welcome to join me on the terrace to enjoy the sunshine and the sound of the sea.
Grandmabatty You have every right to feel virtuous. Another gold star to add to your collection..
Neine I've said it before...write a book...it will become a best seller.
brook My admiration for your workouts in the gym knows no bounds. I am envious of your staying power. What's more, your garden is absolutely marvellous.
Blossoming Wouldn't it be a sad world without the beauty and variety of trees. In fact, there wouldn't be a world as we know it.
I have an iron deficiency. Hopefully the meds will address the imbalance. I may then feel less frazzled and more "with it".
Mr Soop's scalp has numerous ugly lesions developing in spite of regular "zapping". The GP photographed the largest lesion. He's to forward it to the skin specialist for his comment.
We took a photo of the imposing island of Arran from the beach at Skipness. From Skipness there is a small ferry that takes cars to the island. The crevices in the rocks bordering the narrow road were festooned with wild flowers. Nature is amazing.
Good afternoon kitcheners.
I have been both tired and busy since my two nights away with my friend across the road.
We had a very enjoyable time although after the lovely first day the weather was so so and rained on the last morning, however we came home to sunshine which hasn’t really ceased since.
Today is too hot for me to sit out.
I was out last evening with my GD and her friend, her poor friend is going through a very bad time in her personal life, she has being spending much time here which I don’t mind at all but her problems are escalating not improving and to be quite Frank it is hard to deal with.
However she has now moved into her own flat, my GD has been helping with cleaning, shopping, putting flat pack furniture together and it is all coming together.
Sadly her life is getting harder and she has many hurdles to get over.
Tonight is my night for a Chinese takeaway with another friend and an evening in her very beautiful garden, although nearly 82 she keeps it looking wonderful but has now employed someone to come and mow biweekly.
A happy evening is wished for you all and best wishes to poorlies or those looking after them.
Soop such lovely photos but poor Mr Soop. I hope something can be done for him.
Food shop done✓ Bedding washed and line dried✓ Flowers bought and planted ✓ Apricots bought for making jam tomorrow ✓ Chicken curry made✓ I have had a very productive day and I'm looking forward to a peaceful evening. I hope everyone is well.
Good afternoon kitchen pals, another absolutely gorgeous sunny day here without a cloud in the sky - we’ve been so lucky with the weather recently and I’ve enjoyed being in the garden today
I hope you’ve having a good day Llfl, lunch and the theatre with your DD is a real treat for anyone and a perfect birthday present
Grandmabatty you’ve got such a lot done today well done! Enjoy a restful evening
Gorgeous pictures again Soop thank you.
I’m thinking neine that between you and soop we could have a kitchen best seller …. the doggy antics from you and the beautiful illustrations from Soop!
DH has been watching the football earlier, it reminded me of Urms as I know her DH enjoys watching the football too, hoping he’s been able to do a bit of that today - although I don’t think his favourite team won! Sending much love and support to them both
soop I would love to visit but travel would be a major problem. I would like to glimpse at Sweetie Pie but he does not send a calling card. He dines so well I would have no problems joining him.
As that will not be happening it will be food cooked in my beautiful air fryer and I am resisting opening a bottle of wine as I only finished one a couple of evenings ago.
Having Macular Degeneration I am not supposed to drink alcohol at all but one must have some pleasures in life.
It is 22C here but there is a nasty wind so I do not feel warm.
Good evening Kitcheners.Another sunny day but a chill in the shade.
Love your garden Brook you must spend many happy hours enjoying it.
Hope you’ve had a good day with the GC’s Jax.
We viewed a fabulous period ground floor conversion today.Everything has been done beautifully, however could be a problem with the freehold and lease. We will know more next week so not getting too excited. Will take you next time Charliegirl.
GS2 is home from Canada he had the best time and I think will always remember the experience.
A big group hug for Urms and her lovely DH hoping for better days.
Have a pleasant evening everyone.
Yiayia I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
Fingers crossed Yia.
Hope you’re having a lovely day llfl and travel isn’t a problem.
Your son is nearly there SueD a difficult journey for him and his loved ones.
We’ve just got in after dinner in, boy our grandson can eat! Lots of crabs were caught, then put back, lots of walking and a tasty meal. I’ve been informed Imogen is setting up at a Park Run tomorrow, 7am alarm for me, let’s hope we all sleep well tonight.
Enjoy your evening all.
Urms x
Sounds like a busy weekend Jax enjoy the family time!
Hello all. I’m exhausted! I had a brilliant day. The train strike didn’t stop me going to London. My daughter bought us a delicious lunch at a restaurant in the South Bank and then we went to the theatre. We saw ‘Witness for the Prosecution’. Highly recommended. After taking two tubes, the Oxford Tube, a local bus and finally my car which I’d parked near the bus stop, I was home before 9 pm. Good news on OH’s bees - they’re still in the hive 🐝!
I’m thinking of Mr and Mrs Urms.
Good evening all, quiet in the kitchen today. Glad you had a good day LadyLFL.
It’s another hot day here, the bridge has been opening and closing, letting boats in and out. No trains today. Went for a walk along the riverbank and had a nice rest at my other favourite sitooterie. There are wild roses blooming everywhere, beautiful scent and busy with bees. I haven’t seen many butterflies yet though.
Thinking of all with troubles and hoping for better times ahead.
brook I am also thinking of Mr and Mrs Urms.
Llfl A good day in many ways. You will have slept well last night.
I am glad that the bees remain where they should be.
ann I am pleased that your social life is thriving. Your dear granddaughter is a kind young lady. She will be very supportive of her friend. Ups and downs are part of life's so-called rich tapestry. All that we can do is make the best of whatever comes our way.
Jax I smiled when I read that the caught crabs were released. That is what I used to do.
Yia I am rooting for you. Please keep us lot updated.
Charleygirl Snap! It is 22 degrees here at the moment. Where do I find the wee o that signifies degrees? I've been helping Mr Soop to pot some plants. It was too hot to sit in the sun. When I came indoors, I changed into my cotton nightie. I'm hoping that we don't have unexpected visitors.
Grandmabatty You never cease to amaze me. Your energy supplies are super-human.
Away to enjoy a refreshing cup of tea together with Mr Soop. We always have a simple Sunday evening meal. Hot smoked salmon and a jacket potato with couscous. Rhubarb crumble and Greek yogurt for pud.
Enjoy a relaxing Sunday evening. Until we meet again

After a cloudy morning the sun came out and it’s been such a beautiful afternoon, so lucky with this continued good weather.
DH had a call to say his knee replacement surgery would be done this Thursday at the new National treatment centre in Inverness. I’m hoping his recovery will be ok, he’s normally very active so enforced rest will be a challenge! Will see ….
A beautiful view Blossoming the bench is so inviting to sit and rest for a while
Your dinner sounds lovely Soop enjoy!
The pork is in the oven roasting, the sun is shining and I have a nice chilled white wine, all is good.
I only hope our kitchen friends can find contentment and joy in their surroundings.
(((Hugs))) to all in need 🙋♀️
The wanderer returned! Landed at 12, picked the children up about 3:30, she had a lovely, but tiring time. I moyen did her bit for the Park Run, alarm will go again for tomorrow as MrJ is working.
Another glorious day here from the off, it’s set in for at least another week, if the forecasters are right.
Think you might have your hands full from next weekend brook!!
You have some lovely local scenery Blossoming.
Off to sort some veg out, later I will be watering.
Enjoy your evening.
