Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry and bright here in brackley and still with that easterly wind .
Today a early bus to Bicester ,as I have two things to do on return home , the first get an appointment time when I have to be at the Churchill on Monday, and the second is my annual eye check at opticians .
Then relax later .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from yet another clear, bright day in Bristol.
Be careful, Mick, make sure you don’t pick up anything before your op on Monday.
The weather has been odd as, first thing, it’s really cold, probably in single figures. The afternoon, on the other hand, is in the mid to high 20C. Sandwich, sadly, is in the grip of a fierce easterly (beast from the East?) and barely reaches the teens.
I had my weekly dinner with DD and family. I now know which bus to take, which stop to get off, which way to walk to DD’s, so feel at ease doing it,
While in Clifton, I bought myself a new pair of “slider”. My previous pair is about 10: years old and showing their age - like their owner?
Nothing happening today apart from a chiropodist visit.
I hope everyone has a quiet day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩❤️🦩

Morning Mick, morning All. A clear start to our corner of Somerset.

Yesterdays conservatory cleaning was predictably wet, chaotic and fairly successful. There’s always a bit on the roof we can’t reach.

After a trip to the tip this morning the forsythia is due a short back and sides. The mini platform thingy will come out again, no need for precarious balancing on a step ladder. I cut away happily while Mr C dodges about underneath giving (un)helpful advice when he is supposed to be putting the fruits of my labours in bags. An annual tradition which usually entertains our neighbours who are currently on holiday leaving me in charge of their garden, oh foolish people once I start with the secateurs who knows where I’ll stop?

Please be careful out there mick. Enjoy a more relaxed time grandmattie, you’re sounding more settled each day.

Enjoy what you can of the day everyone. Hope Friday is kind to us all.

grandMattie Fri 09-Jun-23 06:14:13

corner, I have always been very fond of my secateurs. DH would tell me that I was born in the wrong century “off with its head!”, to tease me, about my French antecedents. 🤣

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 09-Jun-23 06:16:11

Good morning from a warm Cyprus, because of the time difference I’m early!
Had a restful day yesterday ending with a fish dinner on a local beach, where we watched the sunset (as you do).
So, we need some groceries this morning and then we will read, swim and try not to fret about what’s happening at home.
Hoping everyone has a good day, sees some sunshine and I send hugs to those who aren’t so chipper today.

karmalady Fri 09-Jun-23 06:26:40

Good morning, 24 degrees yesterday, 25 today. Oh well, flaming june is normal.

Watch out for uv, I have peeling skin on my legs, knees down, from two weeks ago and just sat one hour when the wind was blowing. That gave me a fright and I am only out early or late now or perhaps sitting in shade during the daytime. Last time I peeled was as a child. Burnt skin is sore

Only pottering today as I think my logs will arrive tomorrow and am conserving my energy, a very full load to be barrowed to my storage place

Have a lovely day

Ashcombe Fri 09-Jun-23 06:26:40

Good morning from a slightly cloudy Torbay where we have a thunderstorm warning for later but I’ll believe it when I see/hear it.

We enjoyed our lunch out yesterday - I chose a wonderful sea bass meal with spinach, roasted tomatoes and tiny potatoes with a garlic drizzle. Later, I was Front of House steward for a visiting production of Nunsense which was performed to an excellent standard. It’s a musical about nuns on hard times.

Another trip to Whiddon Down for one night to rehang the newly washed net curtains today. We also have a few other chores to complete there and will stay overnight.

Have a wonderful relaxing time in Cyprus, Oopsadaisy1. I have happy memories of a couple of holidays there, including one to attend the wedding of the daughter of friends who had retired there which was very special.

Enjoy whatever your day brings - it sounds like we should beware of secateur weilding grans! 🤣🦩💐🦩

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Our gardener is coming at the crack of dawn so I need to get up soon. Later on I am taking my car to the local garage. The air con isn’t working properly so I hope they can sort it out. OH is having a cortisone injection in his knee this afternoon. He had one before and it worked for a bit. Have a good day everyone. I think it’s going to be warm.

RosesandLilac Fri 09-Jun-23 06:52:56

Good morning, it’s cloudy and cool here in the Cotswolds.
Yesterday’s sunshine was lovely, the breeze tempering the sun was just right.
DH put up two brackets for hanging baskets so that’s the last bit done. My courgette has a flower so hoping I have a better crop this year. The tomatoes have their first fruit forming so I’m looking forward to tasting that unique flavour of homegrown tomatoes 🍅.
Today I must do the ironing, I enjoy listening to audiobooks so not a chore to combine the two.
The dog meets her new dog walker this morning, I’m sure she’ll be fine! Our walk last night was lovely, late evening and so peaceful, she did lots of sniffing around and I enjoyed watching the swifts swooping across the grass.
Take care everyone x

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its currently 8 °C, with sunny spells predicted later.

I usually do my supermarket shop on a Friday, but the PP has asked for my help, doing an inventory of all the contents of the presbytery for insurance purposes, so I shall go to Mass and keep all the poorlies in my thoughts and prayers.
There have been two recent electrical fires in parish houses, which has been a wake up call I think.

I have no other plans for the rest of the day, but to rest. The garden is beckoning, but the least physical exertion is leaving me lightheaded and feeling unwell, so I must do as I have been told although I am very frustrated about it all.

The fact that many have gooseberries, prompted me to check mine. They are tiny and no where ready for picking, if ever! 😞However, it looks as if I will have a good apple crop in the autumn.

You seem to be much more settled and confident getting about, GM. I don't know why I thought you lived close to your DD and imagined you popping in and out and getting involved in parish activities.

brook, I hope your DH is making good progress after his op.
Mick, I despair that our advice is falling on deaf ears and you are still using public transport so close to your procedure, 😞
Have a great time, Oops, I am so envious. Easier said than done, but try not to worry too much.

Have a good day, everyone.

Morning from very high cloud in S Hants, due 27 today, I’m hoping for a storm at some point in over the weekend. Any outside jobs will be done this morning, Tesco delivery this afternoon and visit to our local tonight.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩

Good morning from a hot and sunny Lindos.

Lovely swimming, relaxing and lovely food. Looking forward to Lindos Rock next week, and meeting up with people we met there last year.

Enjoy your day everyone

Whitewavemark2 Fri 09-Jun-23 07:00:10

Good morning from a sunny South Downs. We are the same with the weather. I need a sweater to walk the dog in the morning, but have to retreat to an umbrella from lunch onwards.

Intending to vax clean the living room rug today, and give the parquet an extra wash and buff. That will wear me out enough to do little after, perhaps a fiddle in the garden, also got a wool and silk wash to do.

Salmon marinated in yogurt with salsa for dinner. DHs favourite.

Everyone enjoy your day.

kittylester Fri 09-Jun-23 07:14:05

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

Our weather is the same as others with cold mornings and hot afternoons. Added to which, our house is granite, so quite cool until it gets hot, with the back facing south but the front, obviously, facing north. I have take to leaving a jumper in the hall.

We have a celebration for the Carers on our prediagnostic course today. They have survived a roller coaster of emotions over the past 5 weeks.

baubles Fri 09-Jun-23 07:20:18

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire. No cloud so the sun is shining brightly.

We’re off to the east coast though so it may very well be cooler there. It will be a toss up between the beach and the park but either way we will spend the afternoon outdoors with the children.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

ginny Fri 09-Jun-23 07:24:10

Good morning from our hotel in. Bath.
Lovely afternoon yesterday, andering with our friends and a boat trip.
Today we will have brunch and then have decided to go on the ‘hop. On hop off’ buses. We’ll do a circuit and then go back to whichever places we fancy.

Had a message yesterday which changed my hospital appointment re. my hip to the end of August instead of July. Not too pleased about that.

Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.

Gingster Fri 09-Jun-23 07:25:12

Good morning all and the sun is just breaking through although chilly at the moment, here in Essex. We’ll be basking in heat for the next few days. Wish we were at our seaside abode with a sea breeze . Hoping to go up in the next couple of weeks - we’ll see how DD is!
Also we have SIL’s funeral sometime so have to play it by ear.

Today hoping to meet our Friday crew at lunchtime. A nice couple of hours with a toasted sandwich and a couple of g and t’s. Catchup on the weeks doings - just the job!

School run and dog walk first.

Lovely pics Nannyjan it looks beautiful there.
Well done for finding your way around your new area, GM. You’ll soon feel ‘at home’.
Oops rest and relax. Try to put ‘them at home’ out of your mind for a while. (I’m the worst person to be telling you that) 😂.

Have a gentle day. 🌸

brook2704 Fri 09-Jun-23 07:30:11

Good morning everyone from Inverness where its a lovely blue sky and a warm sunny day is forecast
Beautiful pictures nannyjan, enjoy your hols, you too oops and everyone else on holiday 😎
Thank you marydoll and everyone for all your good wishes for my DH. His operation went really well yesterday and he’s making good progress. He didn’t come home yesterday as his blood pressure was a bit too low after the anaesthetic so he couldn’t do his physio exercises needed before discharge. Hopefully he’ll get those done this morning and he’ll be home later. I’ll go over there mid morning and see how he’s getting on.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Grammaretto Fri 09-Jun-23 07:30:40

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Cool but bright
I wish we would have some rain. It will no doubt happen at the weekend when I'm at Potfest (A pottery festival in the grounds of Perth's Scone Palace)

Today my DGD is singing at the wee Mod. (A Gaelic festival)
I am at the dentist and then at work.

Have a good weekend whatever you are up to.

Mizuna Fri 09-Jun-23 07:32:54

Good morning from a balmy but cloudy Cornwall, with a showery weekend ahead, at last! Today a scan at the hospital then a visit to a market stall selling knitting yarn. I'm looking for bright or dark coloured 4 ply and would like to shop locally.

Gwenisgreat1 Fri 09-Jun-23 07:37:49

Good morning all from cloudy Harrogate
Take care Mick you don’t want nasty bugs before Monday. You seem to be settled in your new abode nowGrandMattie which is good. Enjoy your night away Ashcombe. I do envy you grans with the sunshine. It’s cold here in the mornings as well but warms up in the afternoon. This morning got to go to the Apple Store in Leeds. One of the updates I had for my phone has messed up with the battery which does not last very long any more. Am hoping they can fix it without sending it away. When we get back we will be having tea with DD2 and DGS while learning how to look after their budgies while DD is on holiday.
Have the best day possible folks

monk08 Fri 09-Jun-23 07:42:59

Good morning all from a sunny but windy Black country.
Lovely photos Nannyjan it bought back memories of our time in Rhodes and the best ever king prawns I've tasted was in Lindos.
Floor washing and a bit of dusting today. Friends coming later and we shall go to the club.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️

Greyduster Fri 09-Jun-23 07:43:35

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a currently rather grey South Yorkshire. It brightened up nicely yesterday - I just wish the wind would drop. Had a nice long walk yesterday morning and then lunch with DD and GS who had just come in from his latest round of exams. Then I rang the water company and queried an email they had sent me saying I was among the highest 10% of water users in the region. I was apparently using 700 litres (the equivalent of four bathfuls) a day!! Did I want to discuss it? I certainly did. It turns out I should never have been sent the email - it was a mistake! I tore them off a strip for frightening the life out of a vulnerable old lady and they apologised profusely. Today I have an appointment at the solicitors to sign my LPA and then food shopping.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Gala Fri 09-Jun-23 07:54:22

Good morning from yet another sunny morning in Sefton. I can feel, a welcome cool breeze wafting through the window.
Managed to remain standing throughout a very hot & sweaty Zumba class yesterday - well done me! Then a successful trip into town on the train, for once managing to get/do everything on the "list". Rest of the day at leisure. 🌞⛱️😴
2 Zoom exercise classes this morning then a supermarket shop. That's enough exertion the day. Hoping for the return of the car which has been with the garage since Wednesday. Apparently the boot won't open so they can't do the MOT until that is fixed. The part has been sent for - I think we all know how long that can take.,
Wishing you all a lovely weekend whatever your plans & ((hugs)) for those of you with worries & struggles.

Liberty Fri 09-Jun-23 08:08:22

Good morning from a bright and sunny Suffolk. What a change from the grey recent ones.

Last evening we went to the licensing of our new parish priest in our church, one of 7 in the Benefice. It was wonderful to see the church absolutely packed as usually, apart from the occasional wedding and more often, sadly, funeral, the congregation is no more than a handful. It was also uplifting to hear the organ played so tunefully and powerfully.

A quiet day I think apart from an engineer’s visit to install a new tv etc. DH has organised it all( I’m not sure why!) so I think I shall retire to the summerhouse with my book and a jug of squash.

Thinking of those with their own or family worries and hoping today is a peaceful one for all.
