Quirky pub names?

My uncle owned The Hand and Cleaver in Staffordshire. Sadly closed now.

The Kicking Donkey Ormskirk

There used to be one near here called The Bishop Out Of Residence - but it’s now just The Bishop, which IMO is a shame.

I wish there’d be a revival in ‘proper’ pictorial pub signs, too - the modern ones are so boring!

The Bee's Knees in Winsford. May be closed now.
There used to be one called The Headless Woman in Cheshire. They had a life-size wooden statue outside of a woman with no head. The neck was painted red to resemble blood. Her clothes were like Snow White. I remember when we were kids and dad used to drive us past it, we were terrified. Sadly now long gone.

Just remembered we visited The Bucket of Blood in Hayle, Cornwall.

I live next door to The Spotted Cow, it's now been converted into two flats.
DH and I had a lovely meal at The Clickham Inn in Cumbria.
Where I grew up there were The Bush, The Shoulder of Mutton and The White Lion.

A local company, AtWill Pubs already had two pubs in their chain - The Cock and Pullet and the Cock and Donkey. When they took over an old pub in Seaforth down by the Liverpool Docks, they renamed it the Cock and Seaman!

Not many floating pubs on canals but in Staffordshire there is one call Barge-Inn Booze that is a regular in the Stoke on Trent area.

I remember a bar from my long ago youth (no idea where either my youth went or the bar was) known as the 'Brahms and Liszt'.

Which is of course Cockney rhyming slang for “p*ssed”
