Good morning from a very wet Bristol.it has been raining gently for the last 3 hours at least; good, gentle, wetting rain, none of the flooding, dramatic storms that have been affecting other parts.
A quilt yesterday turned quite busy. I went to Tesco with my upstairs neighbour. We’re becoming quite friendly; we’re going to a concert together later in the week. Coffee, biggish shop. I bought two quite unnecessary hanging baskets - couldn’t resist them. They look pretty on my wall.
In the afternoon, I went up the road to a flooring company, where I chose laminate for the hall and living room, carpet for the bedrooms, and Lino for the bathroom. The laminate is discontinued so heavily reduced!
Then I met two of the inmates who are concerned about the supposed group TV licence for over 75s to be paid by the management. Some have been receiving threatening letters. I’m not involved but sympathise.
Finally, a church lady who has a different T’ai Chi class, came to give me the details!
Today, quiet again 🤣. Just the floor person measuring and estimating.
The kalu family, the Urms family, the Marydolls and others are much in my heart and prayers.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩❤️🦩

Good morning from Essex by the sea. I think we may have rain today, it's cloudy at the moment.
DD1 is 47 today born in that hot summer of 1976.
I hope the Funky Hamper I've ordered for her arrives today.
No real plans here today.
Enjoy your day everyone , thinking of all those with worries or illness xx

We have smallest DGS for hour or so this morning and then we will be off to by my brother and sister in law for the day .
Thinking of all with sadness and health problems, wishing all a good day wit a smile along the way.

Good morning grandmattie, Mick (who I hope is reading) and all. It's another sunshine -and-showers day here on the Angus coast. Much fresher than of late, but pleasant.
Yesterday my new chair duly arrived, so I practiced sitting in it all afternoon 😁. DS2 phoned and I mentioned, when telling him about the chair, that I had hurt my knee. He sounded really quite hurt that I hadn't told him about it. But really, how much do you tell DCs who live at a good distance about minor ailments? While I'm chatting to him on the phone I'm not usually thinking about myself but avidly drinking in all the news of his doings and imagining his lovely garden etc. Anyway I daresay there will be the odd ailment in future which I will regale him with.
I'm off to get ready for tai chi in a minute - the first class in three weeks. The instructor who took the class when I was off will also be there, so really all I shall do is watch and advise.
I am running late as yet again I didn't hear my alarm go off - sleeping on my 'good' ear.
Anyway, sorry not to have mentioned everyone - so much sadness around so hugs and flowers where needed. Enjoy as much as you can of a day filled with sunshine and the occasional welcome shower x

Good morning GM and everyone from a rather sultry and grey Carlisle where rain is forecast.
Yesterday's sun dried the washing quickly, it got rather windy. My gardening was confined to trimming and deadheading my shrub roses. Commandant Beaurepaire in particular was threatening a takeover of his part of the garden! Probably trying to reach Cornelia....
I must shortly pop out to the post office, I'm going to head into the next village rather than town to get a nice country drive and see how the new bypass works are starting off. It's due to take 2 years and I expect I will lose the nice country drive.

Mick I hope you are progressing well and at home able to read posts.

Have the best possible day all of you.

Garden distinctly damp and smelling wonderful after overnight gentle rain. Supermarket this morning and WI this evening, more than enough excitement for one day.

Thinking of all those with worries and struggles. Life can be so daunting at times, and we all seem to meet it at some point.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 20-Jun-23 08:49:22

Thunder, lightning and torrential rain just as the children are walking past my house now to go to school, poor things looking drenched.

The seniors seem to be umbrella averse ⛈️☔️☔️☔️

Sar53 Tue 20-Jun-23 09:00:57

We have torrential rain, thunder and lightening at the moment.
It will do the gardens good.

Good morning,

we have rain this morning, and much needed it is, too. I think it’s forecast for most of the day.

As it’s going to be wet, I’ll have the opportunity to catch up with some indoor jobs, which tend to get a little neglected when the sunshine shines as the garden beckons then.

I do hope that mick is making good progress and will be back posting soon.

Pleased to read that you are settling into your new home grandMattie and making a new friend.

Hope all goes well with your appointment today Marydoll.

Good morning from a hot and sunny Lindos!

We are 2 hours ahead and back to our abode for coffee and a bun.

Last night of Lindos Rock tonight, so earlyish meal and then the gigs.

I had loaded my kindle with 5 novels, but it seems to have frozen so it won’t swipe up to open! Luckily I had bought 3 books with me, and found a book swap at a poolside.

Wishing you all the best day possible

Good morning everyone from a very damp Northampton; I woke up to heavy rain the like of which hasn't been seen here since Noah! It has now stopped and everything looks very fresh. The only downside is that my newspaper hasn't been delivered. Yesterday was a pleasant temperature and I decided to do washing at lunchtime, which was.dry by teatime.

If it stays dry I shall venture out for a health walk after lunch, but first some gentle pottering to do - wash the pans from last night, clean my en-suite. If it rains shall carry on reading - fancied something light and easy after two or three fairly long and serious literary novels, so yesterday I started on the Gervase Phinn I picked up in the charity shop - just the ticket!

DCat just trying to sit on my lap and needs attention, so shall wish all a pleasant Tuesday.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good morning from a muggy, overcast Durham. Late in posting as I had a vivid dream involving my late friend - it’s left me like a washed out rag.
Coffee this morning with friend at her house - Costa’s profits will suffer! (We don’t have an independent nearby). I’ll call at Aldi on the way home, then potter until it’s time to walk DD2’s dog. DGS2 has hurt his toe and looks to be losing the nail - I hope it doesn’t spoil his holiday.
Thinking of those with worries and troubles. Hope Mick is doing ok too.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from a wet, close W Kent. Off on our holiday to N Wales today so not the idea day for packing the car. DH realised on Sunday he hadn't ordered his tablets and has now gone off to try and get them so off to a slow start with travelling.
gM how good you have already made a friend and lots of new acquaintances. Marydoll hope the appointments go well.
Very best wishes to all.

Kalu Tue 20-Jun-23 09:55:17

Good morning all from a sunny but cooler Glasgow.

Although I still read our GM thread, I fear I have nothing to add presently as we are going through what can only be described as the very worst time in our family.

Since DH’s recent diagnosis showing his cancer has metastasised to both lungs, we now await an oncology appointment to assess whether DH is strong enough for a course of immunotherapy treatment.

DD2 and SiL arrived from Australia last week. Both DDs and SiL have been a tower of strength with loving support for myself and my darling man. Our lives are on hold in this surreal new world and trying to stay upbeat and positive is becoming more difficult.

I won’t be posting regularly but just wanted to take this opportunity to convey a heartfelt thank you to all for your much appreciated messages of support.

Best wishes for a good day and heartfelt good wishes to those of you who I know have tread this path. Hoping those with worries and struggles have a better day. ♥️

Grammaretto Tue 20-Jun-23 10:06:27

Kalu enjoy your time together. Sending lots of love xxxxx

(((hug)))Kalu.

cornergran Tue 20-Jun-23 10:12:01

Marydoll Tue 20-Jun-23 10:25:51

Kalu, I was wondering if your DD had arrived yet.😘

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 20-Jun-23 10:32:10

Good Morning all from Cloudy Prestwick. It's tricky here posting WIFI not very good. So sorry Kalu to hear of your DH's problem.. Hope your appointments have the desired effect Marydoll
My Dsis has a loch at the foot of her garden, hope I have included the residents of the loch. The other picture is of the grounds of Dumfries House which is lovely. King Charles can put a feather in his cap for that one. His work on that house is appreciated by those all around the house. Yesterday we saw the schools my Dsis and I attended. n The primary school is now a Campus (In our day it had 7 classrooms). Prestwick High, which is now Prestwick Academy is totally unrecognisable!
Today we are having a mooch round the town, and if the weather holds out - the beach, too.
Have the best day possible folks!

Grandmabatty Tue 20-Jun-23 10:38:22

Kalu I'm so sorry for what you are going through. You and Urms are often in my thoughts and prayers.

RosesandLilac Tue 20-Jun-23 10:40:35

Good morning! Hooray it’s actually rained here on the edge of the Cotswolds, I’m not sure how much but it’s very welcome 🙏
I took the car for its MOT first thing, all’s well and I popped into Aldi for some flowers.
A quiet day here.
My thoughts are with all the poorly ones and their families 🤗
