I, too, have a really restricted diet and find that it generally keeps most symptoms at bay. I do find it very awkward if anyone asks us for a meal at home or in a restaurant. I now find it easier not to eat out at all as I feel it’s so rude to keep asking “What’s in it ?” when presented with a plate of food. Everyone and everywhere seem to put onion and garlic in dishes.
Thank you. I could write your answer myself. I check all the menus before we go out and often an after effect with something as simple as fish and chips (chips covered in gluten and tartar sauce with garlic). Totally agree with you about the onion and garlic dishes. I have sometimes also ordered three side dishes with no sauce i.e. green salad, new potatoes. Bonkers!
