Anyone beenw; there this year, or festival’s you’ve been to/going to?

I wasn't keen on the Arctic Monkeys, thought I'd better watch as DGD went to see them last week.
It must be an age thing 😁

Why did I cry during his last two songs?
Thinking of DC and DGC and those songs are so poignant

My late DD discovered Cat Stevens in her forties even though I used to play his songs all the time when she was little.

I’m relieved he didn’t sing ‘How Can I Tell You?^ or I’d have been a wreck.

He wrote some really beautiful songs.

Arctic Monkeys do nothing for me either!

My 27 year old really doesn't like them either but her fiance is a huge fan. So she's seen them a couple of times but has refused point blank to go again!

The Irish chap, Dermot Kennedy I think. I really like his stuff.

I missed some of his set but will catch up later.

Thinking of DGD and DGS, still teenagers but it won't be long before they're setting out on their lives away from family.
And the DC years ago, setting off with their backpacks, full of anticipation and hope 🙂

Oh dear, I'm getting maudlin 😥

Perhaps I didn't give them a chance 😁

I fell asleep watching the Arctic Monkeys.

Callistemon21 Sun 25-Jun-23 20:27:54

As a friend used to say "another nice programme to fall asleep in front of".

GrannyGravy13 Sun 25-Jun-23 20:36:51

Dermot Kennedy is good.

Well, that’s a great start Elton 🥳

Lomo123 Sun 25-Jun-23 21:17:57

Elton superb. Loved Dermot Kennedy too.

Did anyone watch the Ezra Collective - really joyful.

Primrose53 Sun 25-Jun-23 22:08:53

Just watching Elton. never a huge fan but he is doing well! Watched Candy Staton who you could barely hear.

My friend’s OH is there working on the Oxfam stalls. She always used to go but she can’t cope with massive crowds now.

Perfect weather for everyone.

merlotgran Sun 25-Jun-23 22:40:21

Shame Dua Lipa wasn’t there.

NanKate Sun 25-Jun-23 22:47:11

Really enjoying Elton. Don’t know any of his guests.

I wonder if his gold outfit will one day be shown in the V and A. 🤔

nadateturbe Sun 25-Jun-23 22:47:21

After Father and Son, I was dabbing my eyes with a tissue. I looked at OH and he was doing the same.
How can I love you is beautiful but makes me cry too.
Can Stevens writes some lovely songs.

Despite having seen Elton John 5 times since 1975 for an assortment of reasons I’ve never liked him. Ray Cooper was my highlight tonight.

Clawdy Sun 25-Jun-23 23:17:23

Loved Elton. Just wish he'd sung Skyline Pigeon.

Kate1949 Sun 25-Jun-23 23:20:33

Was Elton good? We've been out. I set the tv to record, came home, settled down to watch it and it said 'recording failed'. Grrr

dragonfly46 Sun 25-Jun-23 23:22:47

Elton was just brilliant!

Joane123 Sun 25-Jun-23 23:23:58

Elton was absolutely wonderful. So good to hear all his songs.

Callistemon21 Sun 25-Jun-23 23:24:36

Clawdy

Loved Elton. Just wish he'd sung Skyline Pigeon.

Two hours non-stop singing and playing the piano and he's 76.

Like him or not (and I do), you have to respect that!
Nigel is 74, Davey is 72

Kate1949 Sun 25-Jun-23 23:25:19

Thank you. We'll find it on catch up.

Grannmarie Sun 25-Jun-23 23:47:34

Did Elton sing Daniel tonight?
