Glastonbury 2023 anyone plan to watch?

I saw Christine and the Queens at the Royal Festival Hall last Sunday. One of the best concerts ever. I shall def watch him tonight. I shall also dip in and out though will prob watch most, especially Cat Stevens/Yusuf Islam ❤️ I love the exuberance of it. Relief from doom and gloom

Will dip in and out of it. Definitely Paul carrack as we’re going to see him again at the sage. Like the atmosphere.

I watched last night specifically for Sparks, and they were wonderful. Best band of the day. Today I’ll watch out for Lewis Capaldi and Yusuf/Cat Stevens.

We watched Artic Monkeys last night. Personally I thought they were fantastic. I first saw them at Leeds Festival in 2006 could have been 2007? on a tiny stage at 3pm, then saw them the next year headlining the main stage. They were babies, although good back then I do think that with age & experience bands mature & become refined & become a class of their own. I've seen this over the years with so many good bands turn into fantastic live bands.

Watching some on TV. Daughter and Son in Law there and they will flag up lesser known performers. Then I go off to Youtube/Internet to share.
Would not choose to go…BUT IF a ticket fell my way I would go as I enjoy following random paths Fate offers me to travel

Will dip in and out. Looking forward to Elton. Just the name Foo Fighters makes me smile.
Too hot, too crowded, too much standing and The Portaloos have always put me off going even when young.

But I bet it's fun. Lots of youngsters come through our station after the Reading Festival. Looking exhausted and in need of a bath and bed.

We watch avidly each year. Recording all so we can keep what we want & watch again throughout the year. Never been. Never wanted to go either. I've been going to festivals since I was 18 I'm 62 now & continue to go to festivals. I have been to a lot on my own before meeting my OH of 8 years this year & guess what! I met him at a festival haha. We are going to one in Anglesey in 2 weeks time with friends. We go camping a lot throughout the year anyway. I have issues with the toilets at most festivals but it has to be done, no one can say they are great, although I have been to some festivals with very acceptable toilets
As long as I can get around easily I will still go to them. Great question btw

I love Kaiser Chiefs. I think Debbie Harry needs back up vocals these days. I saw a documentary about Clem Burke recently and hadn’t realised what a world class drummer and all round good guy he was.

A couple of weeks ago I went to and help run Volksfest which was great fun. My first experience of being on both sides of an event like that. It was small though so perfectly manageable.
I always watch Glastonbury and I always know people who are there, usually they are working.
Was disappointed in The Arctic Monkeys performance but some of the others have surprised me and I’ve enjoyed more than I’d have thought I would, Texas and The Lightening Seeds especially. I’m basically a Soul Music Lover.

It’s just another Glastonbury for which I didn’t get tickets. I may watch a bit but it’s the whole atmosphere that I love, it’s not the same watching at home. One day I’ll get there.
But… off to see Sting/Blondie/The Kaiser Chiefs at Lytham Festival next week and Bruce Springsteen in Hyde Park the follow week. And I just love a 5 day test match 😃

Love watching it, my son goes every year and I ve often seen him popping up on tv. My friend and I would love to go but have never managed to get tickets sadly

Won't watch it but might drop in afterwards to pick up a second-hand tent....

I watched Texas yesterday, Sharlene still has it, then the FF’s, Guns n Roses tonight.
My memories of Download in 2015 are Kiss arriving on stage from a white helicopter and the wood lorries, dumping wood across site for fires. Bet they don’t do that any more.

Damn! I missed the Foos. Forgot they were on and was watching Gogglebox. 😡

They were amazing! Touring next year, so I'm keeping everything crossed for a Scottish date. I actually had tickets to see them play a few years back, but it was cancelled after Dave Grohl broke his leg. They are one of my favourite bands and Dave is an absolute legend.

Some very enjoyable late night viewing on catch up.

I'd be surprised if Elton needs others to support him.

We saw Elton John at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham two weeks ago.
He came on stage at 7:30 pm and finished just before 10pm.
No support act, no interval.

I went to a festival @ 1969 that I always thought was the first Glastonbury but that didn’t start till 1970. I don’t know anyone from that period of my life to ask unless my flat mate at the time might remember. I met up with a crowd of lads that I’d worked with the year before but decided not to stay. My flat mate seems to remember more about what I got up to back then than I do but she didn’t come with me to that.

Was it Knebworth?

I had tickets to go to Knebworth in the early 70s and I think it had been around for a few years before that.

I chickened out of going at the last minute. I was worried about getting lost from my friends. No mobile phones then.

No. It was in the West Country. I was living in Cornwall at the time. But a group of lads I’d worked with in Birmingham went to this festival and I met them there. But I decided not to stay so went back to Cornwall. I can just remember walking past all these people who asked me’ has the festival been cancelled’ and I just replied ‘nah, I’m just going home’. There was a festival in Bath in 1969 and I think it might have been that one. All I can remember of the festival is that one lad had bleached his jeans and they’d fallen apart and I sat in their tent sewing them back together.

Watched most of it today, enjoyed it, couldn't go though, too crowded and I need the loo too often.

Glastonbury has evolved so much its lost its appeal. My friend's daughter is there. Too many old people and too many children apparently. I'd not be there if you paid me

Concerts, on the other hand, can be brilliant. I've been to many and intend going to many more.

I've never been to a festival either but have been to possibly hundreds of concerts. It's amazing.
