Oh lucky you Auntyflo! I've read all of Ellie Griffith's books - great stories and such likeable characters. I feel deprived now they're all finished!

Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning Mick, so glad to hear that you are having home visits from the Drs etc. but so try and take it easy.
Morning Annie and all.
LauraNorderr , pleased to hear that I am not the only one who is usually too late to post, but I do try and read this thread most days, and lovely to have you back on here.
Our DGD and family are visiting today, and bringing lunch, so I have only had to make a cake, so I shall be in GGS good books. He is a great cake fan.
I'm not sure on which thread that I read about Elly Griffiths books, but I am hooked, so now have 11 to get through.
All thoughts to the Urms, to Kalu's DH, to Marydoll and all the ones struggling with health worries.
Have a good day one and all.
Good morning everyone from cloudy Lancashire. It’s hotting up again at 21°C.
Have a restful day Mick, glad you’re being looked after.
We were late to bed (after midnight) last night and I’m slow to get going this morning. I have only scanned the thread, will read it properly now.
Thinking of Kalu, Urms and all who are dealing with illness right now. 🌹
Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Hope you are recovering well Mick and you feel better soon harrigran
Nice company at art yesterday, but I was very dissatisfied with my gouache piece. I know we are not meant to depend on inspiration, but I just couldn’t get into it and ended up doodling…
But when the going gets tough, the tough go shopping and I bought some gladiator style sandals, a near replica of my present pair, which have been round the world. My daughter has the exact same pair.
Started an Anne Tyler book, not impressed so far and off to a matinee musical this afternoon. I’m bothered about the parking, town being busy on a Saturday and I don’t like paying. My usual spot, peculiar to me, may be full.
Thoughts to all with troubles as always.
Gewn, I like all the clothes shops, but Emporium is my favourite and affordable.

Good Morning from cloudy but warm Harrogate
Glad to see you back in business Mick take it easy. Sorry you are not able to do the things you want Marydoll so frustrating. There were so many dress shops in Prestwick, I couldn't imagine which might be the one you prefer! The Swimming Pool photo was looking towards Troon!Found a great shop for cards and pressies - Keeking Glass, wonderful shop, and just round the corner from our cottage. My Dsis enjoyed it very much, she met up with her school friend and I met up with two of mine, one whom I haven't seen since the '60's (we have chatted on Facebook.) Poor DH was feeling sorry for himself being left out of the nostalgia, but he enjoyed a walk down to the beach. We had quite a wet day coming home yesterday, stopped at Thornhill for morning coffee, the Penrith for lunch and Ripon for more coffee and shopping.
Lovely to see you again Lauranorder hope you are well
Have the best day possible folks
Good morning from an overcast Oxfordshire, where it will reach 27 degrees, according to Alexa.
Pleased you are being looked after Mick please please take it easy, I was only unwell for a few hours and it’s knocked me for six.
So another day of not doing very much, can’t eat yet so just plenty of fluids, I did get the washing on last night so I’ll hang that out. Everything else will have to wait.
Sorry that so many GNers are so poorly, please take care and rest up in the heat.
Virtual hugs for those who are stressed and not so chipper today.
Good morning from West York's it looks like another hot one, hope all having parties and get togethers go well, I am still restricted due to back pain,so another day of nothing !! Hope all poorlies have some relief .
Good Morning from an overcast S Yorks wondering whether to put a wash out.
Taichinan so true, when you live alone its part of the "connecting with people" start to the day.
No "must do's" today and v tired so will see how the day develops. Maybe the library? the gym seems a bit too demanding.
Yesterday was a great lunch and short walk in Botanical Gardens with friend and managed to get the the chemist when there wasn't a long queue which is the usual situation by going first thing and waiting outside!
Best for Mick and all other poorlies, and may outings go well.
Garden centres are Dangerous Places Greyduster but my gardener comes Monday so need to think ahead a little..
Good morning from S Lanarkshire, I had to log in before I could post this morning so a hunt for my password ensued!
That was a pleasant surprise to see Laura posting, glad to see all is well with her. As always was, such beautifully expressed sentiments.
Cloudy but warm here, so I hope to get to wear one of my summer dresses for lunch with friends today, I have a bad habit of living in jeans.
8 year old DGS’s dance show tonight, I hope it goes well. School term finished here yesterday and he was really upset leaving his teacher and classmates. He hates change and although he appears very confident, always struggles in new situations.
Wishing everyone a good day and Marydoll a better one
Good morning all from the Angus coast where it's 18° and rising. Lots of cloud around and it's been raining - a little bit of everything!
Lauranorder thank you for that lovely and well deserved tribute to Mick. I'm sure we all echo your sentiments. I'm glad you're being well cared for Mick - it can't be easy on your own.
Living alone now, what I really like about this 'Good Morning' thread is having someone to chat to first thing in the morning. Thank you for that Mick.
Yesterday's meet up with the other tai chi instructors went really well and no glaring discrepancies came to light thank goodness! Today is Tai chi on the Beach at 11am, when the tide has had time to recede and leave us some sand. It's surprisingly difficult to pinpoint a time when the tide is low at an acceptable time in the morning - I think the next time is in September!
Enjoy all your 'doings' today. Mizuna I do so envy you your Red Arrows displays today and military doings (but not those crowds!). We used to have the annual Air Show at RAF Leuchars, which was such a big feature all through my life - until the base was handed over to the Army. Such a shame - but I have reams of photos to trigger loads of memories. Anyway, I hope you escape to your allotment before the crowds hem you in!
Now I must head off and get ready for the beach. I hope all of you feeling the heat find the perfect cool place, all family gatherings are greatly enjoyed and all feeling ill or sad find the perfect pick-me-up x
Nothing planned for today so I shall totally indulge myself with the new book I treated myself to, Jesse Norman’s historical novel about the rivalry between Francis Bacon and Edward Coke, so well reviewed that I felt I couldn’t wait to read it. No wonder this house is groaning under the weight of books!
Glad to read that Mick is settling in at home and hope he is starting to feel better. Hope Marydoll has a better day and that everyone with worries and illness can get through the day without difficulty.
Good morning.
Some food shopping to do this morning. Pre holiday jobs this afternoon especially a tidy up in the garden. Our lovely neighbours will be watering for us while we are away.
Sorry to hear of so many poorly people , hope things improve quickly.
Enjoy all the outings and meet ups.
Good morning from Durham. Another fine day forecast, after several hours of steady rain last night.
I’ve been asked to accompany DD1 and DGS1 to the Hoppings - the biggest travelling fair in Europe which pitches up just outside Newcastle every year. He was there last Saturday and reports say it cost a fortune - Grandma’s bottomless purse will be needed!
Welcome back Laura. Take it easy Mick there’s no rush. Hope you have a better day Marydoll it must be hard.
Best wishes to all. X
Calamity Jane Ash.
Lovely on this sunny Suffolk morning to see this super thread opened by Mick. I was on the train from Bristol yesterday morning and then very busy with watering the garden and numerous pots when I got home. I hope your recovery goes well and you continue to have the level of care you had yesterday.
DGD’s school play was brilliant. She had a speaking part and therefore had a microphone which she loved. Everyone in the year had a part and it was held in the school theatre. How privileged they are to have it.
Today DH and I are off to the community cafe at the station in a town a few miles away. They do the best scrambled eggs ever so brunch calls.
Hope today is a good one for all and especially for those unwell or with worries for family or friends also afflicted.
Even 'lovely' to see Laura.
Good morning all from a sticky North Leicestershire.
Must get on and iron before it gets too hot.
Lively to see Laura. Have a great day everyone.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Mick I’m glad the doc came to see you for a check up. Don’t and rush things moving about - it’ll all come together. Laura thank you for the opening words of your post - I think that’s exactly what we all feel.
I took myself off for a walk in my favourite park yesterday, after a visit to the butchers where I picked up some meat and a hot roast pork sandwich which I ate sitting on a bench, as DH and I often used to do. Bitter sweet. Then I called in at the garden centre for a bag of compost and picked up a few more plants for the new bed. Well, you just have to, don’t you?🤦♀️. I came home and cut and weeded the front lawn.
DD and her menfolk are coming to lunch today so I’m looking forward to having us all at the table.
Enjoy the birthday boy’s party, Corner!
Have the best day you can. folks.
Good morning everyone from another scorching start to the day here on the east coast of Fife where temps are to reach 25 degrees. We had a friend over yesterday for lunch I was real lazy and bought 3 ham salad rolls and 3 yum yums from a locale cafe oh my they were tasty I’m so looking forward to getting strawberry plants from the local Shed which is a voluntary meeting place for comunity folks.
Have a good day everyone keep safe
Morning from high cloud in S Hants, 27 and sun later, I’ll hibernate.
Good to know you have support Mick.
Amazing WWM2 what a positive, interesting appointment.
Enjoy your special lunch Sar 🥂.
Washing to do, no drying issues today and later watering.
Our granddaughter is in the New Forest on her penultimate Duke of Edinburgh orienteering after camping last night, we’ll be thinking of her.
🦩🦩
Good morning from a bright, warm Co Durham.
Lots of busyness on this thread today.
Take care, Mick. Enjoy your celebrations, Sar. Harrigran, hope you feel better soon. Marydoll, take care of yourself.
I went to a friend’s house yesterday evening for wine and a natter. We put the world to rights 😀.
Too warm to do much today.
Have a good Saturday one and all. Thoughts, as always, are with Urms and Kalu.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve a mix of blue sky and white cloud with another lovely warm day forecast.
Hi 👋 So good to see you posting here again Laura
I’ve got a much needed hairdressers appointment later this afternoon so a bit of pottering this morning and then pampering this afternoon. The sun makes my hair colour really lighten up so I’ll be pleased when the colour is back to normal later.
Isn’t science wonderful Whitewave, sounds like your DH is very well monitored
Have a wonderful celebratory Birthday lunch Sar! 🥂🥂🥂
Hope today is a bit easier for you Marydoll, take care
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 🎉
Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset
Our not so Littlest is eight today, we’ll be off to his happily chaotic family garden party after breakfast out. An exciting weekend for him. There will be about 25 family today, tomorrow a party with his friends.
Slowly does it mick, please listen to advice from your medical team. Good to see you laura.
Hope Saturday is kind to us all.
