It’s a bright and sunny morning here in South Lanarkshire.
Good to hear that you’re on the road to recovery Mick. It takes time so make sure you rest when you need to.
Very busy day yesterday so today I’ll be taking it easy. Church then brunch with DH. I’ve a little gift to buy for a neighbour’s child and then this evening I will call round to a friend with a retirement gift.
In between times I really must shift the dust that I spotted last night in the living room.
Thinking of those with worries or illness. Wishing everyone a peaceful day.
Good morning from a sunny South Downs.
Quiet day today, so will potter and enjoy.
Good morning Mick and all from a hot and balmy Cornwall. The three new gull chicks with their big feet have been cavorting on my flat roof since sun up. The Red Arrows zoomed low over my flat morning and afternoon yesterday and caused chaos among the parent gulls - I quite felt for them. The extra 100,000 people here certainly added colour yesterday and a lovely atmosphere. But a quieter day today, phew! Am off to my daughter-in-law's for a roast later.
Good morning from a sunny Bristol. Thank goodness a breeze has sprung up. Mi couldn’t cope with yesterday’s mugginess.
Just church today.
Have a contented Sunday. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I’m still in bed and won’t be getting up quite yet? I hope you’re following doctor’s orders Mick!
We had a very late night and didn’t get back from Bath until nearly midnight. The concert in the Abbey was brilliant and it was good seeing our friends. Sadly, the husband isn’t doing well at all and just in the couple of weeks since we last saw them seems to have gone downhill. It is basically old age. I’m not sure what we’re doing today but it’s going to be hot, which means sitting indoors with a fan on! Have a good day and 🌹for those of you who are suffering.
Good morning from south Gloucestershire, a lovely fresh breeze at the moment- yesterday I struggled with the muggy weather.
We did a very early dog walk yet it was still uncomfortable for me.
Today apart from cooking lunch I don’t intend to do a lot, perhaps some watercolour painting as I started another one yesterday evening.
Stay cool if you can 🌹
Good morning from Essex by the sea where it is already hot.
A wonderful day yesterday celebrating my birthday with family. Our 10 grandchildren got on and I have some beautiful pictures to remember the day. I also received lots of incredible presents, people were very generous.
Today we are having breakfast with my brothers at their hotel, then I am spending the rest of the day with my girls and families.
Have a super Sunday everyone xx
Good morning Michael and all GNs from a very warm South Yorkshire. Make sure you drink plenty in this warm weather Mick and take it steady. Yesterday’s family dinner went very well and then we sat in the garden where there was a cool breeze. I watered the whole garden from the water butt last night, mainly to make room in the butt for the deluge we are expecting later this afternoon, with accompanying thunder and lightning. I hope it is out of the way by the time I go into the town for a concert at the cathedral, or I may have to change my mind about going. Nothing much else going on here today. I have a large Veronica plant that needs repotting but that’s about all I will do outside.
Have the best day you can folks!
Good morning from a bright N Wales. Today we are looking forward to going up Snowden and visiting a slate mine. Really lovely group of people and a very nice tour manager. Last day so travelling home tomorrow. Best wishes to all
Good morning from a sunny Torbay.
Yesterday, was brilliant. I was in Teignmouth by 10.30 for the start of the Folk Festival and there was a great atmosphere. The organisers had arranged for six large gazebos to provide shade for the spectators which was most welcome! The lady mayoress attempted to make a speech but failed to use the microphone successfully. When advised to hold it by her mouth, she asked if she should start again to which there was a unanimous, “No!” (but she ploughed on regardless!).
There was a variety of dance groups, each with their own distinctive attire, besides some bands. I enjoyed every minute and it was one of my best days since my heart surgery last Autumn. The sea har came in as I travelled home obscuring the usual stunning view of the coast from the top deck of the bus, sadly.
A quieter day, apart from the early service. Wishing you all a blessed Sunday.. 🦩🥰😎💐🦩
Good morning from a sunny Oxfordshire, slow and steady Mick please you are coping.
Sars happy birthday for yesterday, sorry I didn’t spot it before.
Gardening today, the weeds and brambles are having a field day, so I have to at least make a start to hack it all back.
Apart from that nothing much happening, MrOops is fasting until 6 pm for a couple days so a quick salad tonight and I’m done. Dog sitting as usual today and tomorrow though, so a late dog walk when it cools down.
Have a good day everyone, my thoughts are with those who are unwell, recovering or looking after poorly loved ones.
Morning from sun in S Hants, 18, sadly no storms or rain forecast.
My brother is coming for lunch, granddaughter completed her DofE yomp, she returned with 1 tick and a little sunburn.
Enjoy your day 🦩
Good morning everyone from very bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton. Am going out to water the garden in a moment while it is still cool, as I know I won't feel like doing it this evening.
A.quiet morning, bacon butties for brunch, and then off on the bus to the park the other side of town where my daughter's band is playing in the bandstand. Shall be taking a cold bag with drinks, and wishing I had a hat; I may stop off in town on the way to see if I can find one. I can't seem to locate mine at home, just wondering if I gave it to the charity shop.
Take care and rest up Mick, especially in this heat.
Your birthday weekend sounds great Sar!
Good morning all from a sunny, calm and peaceful Suffolk coast.
Yesterday Dh and I swam in the sea - first time this year and it was beautiful. We’ll do it again this morning before breakfast.
Although very warm here, we always have a little breeze, so it’s quite comfortable.
I’ll change the bedding today as we’re going back ‘home tomorrow and ds2 and family are coming next weekend. Dd and little DGD might join us too.
Keep cool and enjoy your day.🌸
Good morning all from a muggy Glasgow, where it is 19°C. I have been wandering around the garden, trying to get some air.
Glad to hear you are making progress Mick, it takes time to build up your stamina again.
No plans for today, feeling yuk this morning, but on a high.
Yesterday, we had an unexpected visit from Dollie and her parents. At this moment, they are right above our home on a Jet2 flight to Faro, which has just taken off! I had a great desire to see her, before they went on holiday and of course, I'm not allowed to drive just now, so couldn't take the initiative and go and visit.
They had just left, when Babydoll and her parents arrived, while DH was at Vigil Mass, so I had her all to myself! 😉
I got my first smile from her 😭, I am smitten.
I'm trying to pluck up courage to do my first immunotherapy injection this morning and face all the implications that come with it, I have never had any fear doing them in the past, but having had a break, I need to get back into a routine.
Being ready to have a rant about the noisy building work I can hear, I have just realised work has started on electrifying the line to Glasgow, now that the schools have stopped. At least someone has shown some common sense, because the line is used by schoolchildren.
Wishing you all a very pleasant Sunday and as always keeping those in need in my thoughts and prayers.
Good morning from s somerset, it is going to be very hot very soon this morning. Dangerous sunshine
I will not be doing anything today, not even a walk as this sun has already struck, clear blue sky and very intense already. I did a short brisk hilly walk yesterday morning and the sweating effects lasted a good couple of hours afterwards. The walk was nice but getting older it becomes harder to cool the body down
Have a lovely day
Another glorious morning in north Suffolk with a slight breeze. No rain forecast here I think so another evening of watering the garden.
Have you ever tried to get prepaid tickets from a machine at a station? Yesterday after our delicious brunch at the community cafe at a local station we went to collect DH’s tickets for his trip to London on Friday to meet up with an old friend. The machine in the nearest station is usually out of order. Well the one we tried, although working, was so slow that part of the reference number wouldn’t register so I got assistance. A very helpful lady entered the number for me and the tickets appeared immediately. She said in future I could always just press the button for assistance and not bother trying to put the reference in….a tip worth knowing.
A quiet day planned with a dog walk shortly through the wood close to us and then reading the papers and finding the coolest spot possible.
Hope all have the best day possible,
Good morning everyone on this sunny Sunday from Severnside.
I’ve only read Mick so far so will go back and do that in a mo.
I’m glad you are recovering.
I noticed when I did my weekly shop that Tesco had taken away the till screens. It seemed really weird!
Beechnutella is coming today. She’s helping me with a job and I also think it would be sensible if someone was here when I alter my washing line.
I thought yesterday was really uncomfortable heat wise. I mowed the lawn early, lazed around and did some more garden jobs when the sun went down.
Have a lovely day all and enjoy your roasts 🌞👒
Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
Will go and water the garden before it gets to hot.
Carvery booked for lunchtime with our visitors couldn't face cooking a roast in this heat, DS and family will join us there.
No other plans all I want to do when weather like this is read a book chilling in a cool place no energy for much else.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 18° and muggy. Clouds are massing overhead so I expect thunder at some point. I really like storms, if everyone is safe.
Mick I'm glad you are recovering. Ash lovely photos of what sounds like a lovely day. Marydoll how nice to see your family before they fly off and an extra bonus to see Babydoll.
Yesterday was pleasant. I had a good blether with my friend and a nice breakfast. The order arrived very quickly and on hot plates. My egg was poached to perfection. After that, we visited the school fair. I caught up with some former colleagues and a couple of former pupils. It was quite busy which was nice to see.
Today I'm having a quiet day. I had a rotten night's sleep and have woken with a headache. It could be pressure building as I'm prone to feeling headachy when thunder is due. I have a gammon to cook later for dinner. Other than that, nothing is planned. Have a good day all
Good morning all. North Leicestershire is already hot muggy and quite sunny.
DH and I plan a wander round the village today and then I need to go to M&S to collect an order and buy a couple of Shepherd's pies for the freezer.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning Mick and everybody from greyish sultry Carlisle. It was much the same yesterday but no welcome rain appeared so the watering can was employed on the bedding plants.
I had gone out early to Sainsbury's and found they had a large display of bedding plants and perennials for sale. Naturally, I had to have some. So much for avoiding the garden centre!
I planted the bedding ones in the afternoon and gave marching orders to some dreary shrubs put in by the developer, they, some pallid pink Spirea, are looking especially dreary this season. I'll beef up the ground and think of replacements for this autumn.
Today, nothing much except to catch up on reading, it's piling up as I prefer to be out and about in the summer.
Have a good day everyone and I hope the poorly find improvements.
Been up early as can’t sleep fir the heat. Had nice day yesterday as granddaughters birthday. Where does the time go? Heat getting to me think my asthma and stomach suffering hubby can sit in it all day whereas I can’t. Need rain! Have a good day all. X
Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull. It’s another beautiful morning.
It’s great to hear you are home and recovering well Mick.
Today my daughter and I are getting the train to Leeds to enjoy an afternoon tea and bottomless fizz. Mine will be a gluten free one.
We later have a table booked at a cocktail bar at her request. I’m a bit to old for this but it will be nice to dress up and spend girly time together. A little bit of shopping could be in the mix too.
Enjoy your day everyone hoping you can keep cool. 🌻🌻
