Morning Mick , pleased you are following doctors orders and recovery is going well.

Another glorious sunny day here in S E Essex I intend to do very little today after two days of Granny duty I walked them home yesterday afternoon and The Imp was asleep almost the minute he got in his buggy (he normally walks but we had worn him out) the 8yr old was happy to ride his scooter as it’s downhill all the way to DD’s

I have a lot of organising to do in the garden but it can wait…

Pleased you had a great birthday celebration Sar53 enjoy spending time together with your girls 😘

Enjoy your swim Gingster

Have a peaceful Sunday folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Already 21° and 30 forecast for later.
I slept well last night and have only just surfaced after being woken by early Church bells.
DH is out at a training course all day and DS is sleeping before he drives back to work this evening. I'll have a quiet one, keeping cool. Sunday roast will be tomorrow. I'll just reheat a frozen lasagne later if it's wanted.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s sunny with a few clouds and the trees are swaying in the breeze
Yesterday I got my hair done, the colour and cut is looking so much better now and it was lovely to sit in the cool hairdressers being pampered. This evening I’m really looking forward to watching 8year old DGD in her dancing show at Eden Court, the theatre in Inverness. All the family are going so it’ll be good sp catch up with everyone before and after the show too
Lovely pictures Ash, sounds like you had a great day
Enjoy Snowdon lula, it’s ages since I was in Wales, we always used to enjoy family holidays there when I was a child, such beautiful scenery.
Marydoll, hope the injections go as well as they can, not easy for you at all. Hope Dollie and family have a wonderful holiday
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Grammaretto Sun 25-Jun-23 08:29:56

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It looks nice out but is due to rain at some point. Muggy as Marydoll says!

I hope your recovery continues well Mick
Loved the photos Ash

I'm going to a fundraiser garden party early this evening at an 18th century mansion not usually open. it's bound to rain

DGS is 16 today. Where have the years gone? I went to his school musical. They performed Sister Act . He plays the piano.in the orchestra.

Your birthday celebrations sound lovely Sar
What a treat for you and for Marydoll to spend some happy time with her littles.
I hate fighting with ticket machines so prefer to keep my tickets on my phone Liberty with my Railcard. I must book soon for Fort William.

Have a nice day everyone.

A late start for me this morning, a good night's sleep for a change. It's overcast here in Sefton with a welcome breeze but still very warm though.
Thoroughly enjoyed yesterdays performance of Calamity Jane. My little DGDs & their friends came dressed as cowgirls. They all had mums or dads on stage which kept them mesmerised. The singing gets better & better & the men's chorus excelled themselves.
Love the photos Ash. Lovely to see events like that still happening. (I had a morris dancing uncle) Reminds of when we used visit the International Eisteddfod in Llangollen on folk dancing day. I grew up in a nearby village, all the schools closed on that day. The atmosphere was fantastic in those days with lots of impromptu dance performances in the surrounding villages & choirs singing in the pubs.
A quiet day today with no plans. A day of leisure I think.
Thoughts & ((hugs)) for those with ill health or caring for loved ones.

Stilllearning Sun 25-Jun-23 08:56:45

Morning fro Giffnock where I stayed overnight after watching DGS’s dance show. He loved it and the whole thing was enjoyable for us all, although very hot in the hall.

Home after church via Marks and Spencer, I never go into Glasgow shopping now so am taking this opportunity when it’s almost ‘on my way’ I’m looking for. among other things, a baby gift for my niece in Canada, something light. as posting costs are ridiculous now.

Wishing everyone a pleasant day, special good wishes to Mick

Good morning from Durham - more blue sky and sun, breezy too. Busy day yesterday, taking DGS1 to The Hoppings, then back to his house, where I was sad to see such a decline in her FinL - they’d taken him to look at mobility scooters while we were out. A long dog walk before dusk, and later reported 7 or 8 posts to GNHQ, as I read through a few things!
DD2 and family back from Majorca this afternoon, so I’m on taxi duty. I’ll hang onto her dog for a few more days to give them time to unpack and get sorted. I’m quite liking having little dog here, but I don’t want one of my own - I’d almost forgotten how tying they are.
Best wishes to all. X

GrannySomerset Sun 25-Jun-23 09:25:59

Only church this morning is planned but as it is still sticky and airless I shall do nothing quietly until garden watering time. Upset inside doesn’t help - possibly due to a surfeit of fruit and salad over the last few days. I never learn. Hope the day brings happiness to us all.

Auntieflo Sun 25-Jun-23 09:28:03

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. Mick I hope you are being good and doing as the Dr tells you. We are all rooting for a speedy recovery for you.
Yesterday our GD, her husband and GGS visited. They brought lunch with them, and very nice it was too. GGS was on great form and growing up so fast. Almost 6 now. He 'washed' the kitchen window for us, as he likes jobs to do, then cleaned the garden table. Later on he got on a stool and used my chalk board for some art. It brought back such memories of his uncle doing the same thing when he was small. Wish I'd taken a photo.
I'm not sure whether to go to Church today, as I feel headachey
and it's bound to be hot.
Glad you enjoyed Babydoll's visit Marydoll, and I expect you will get messages from Dollie, while she is away. Sending best wishes to you for the injections.
Ginster, I envy you your morning swim in the sea, such a tonic.
Someone, upthread, mentioned a bacon butty, so I will go and rootle in the freezer for the bacon thatI know is there, somewhere, and that us lunch sorted for later.
Have a good day one and all.

Good morning everyone from a very hot Algarve. It feels as if it will be as hot as yesterday at 38°.
DGS and SiL walked down to the Saturday market yesterday and we thought they had stopped for lunch in town leaving us to lunch at our usual Saturday restaurant, where even the very busy waitresses were pausing for long drinks of water.
We thought that DGS and his Dad would phone for a lift home but no they foolishly decided to walk uphill home again but at least stopped for an ice cream on the way. I must admit that after our lovely meal DH and I retired inside with the shutters down for the afternoon to try to keep the house cool.

DGS is off to Germany this afternoon but will be back here again by the end of week.

I’ll catch up with you all later.

Blossoming Sun 25-Jun-23 10:01:56

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire. It’s feeling very hot and there is a thunderstorm warning in place for this afternoon.

Have a restful day Mick, give yourself time to recover.

We were out on the Marina a lot yesterday suitably protected from the sun. I seem to have developed a few new aches and pains, think I may have pulled a muscle. Stretching exercises are in order…

Thinking of Kalu, Urms and all who are dealing with illness right now.

Have a peaceful Sunday all 🌻🌻🌻

hollysteers Sun 25-Jun-23 10:08:33

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening northwest coast.
DD has had a lovely few days at Ascot, nice outfit and also picnicking in a spot in the great park where the royals leave their cars and change to the carriages. She had a chat with Camilla.
I’m off to the city today for lunch in a gallery restaurant with old friend. He’s now feeling much better after being prescribed anti depressants. His detached retina and eye problems set off anxiety attacks.
Glad you are recovering Mick and thoughts to all with worries of any kind.

Ziplok Sun 25-Jun-23 10:13:36

Good morning,
it’s warm and sunny here again today, with storms predicted for this afternoon. It’s quite muggy, so I suspect the forecast could well be right.
I’m glad you are resting and taking things gradually on your road to recovery, mick. It takes time, so gently does it and as Greyduster says, drink plenty of water during this hot spell.
A lazy day for me today, other than a small amount of ironing that I’m going to do shortly before it gets too hot.
Take care everyone.

Good morning from a bright West York's. It feels a bit cooler than yesterday.*Auntieflo*our 6yr old grandson loves to clean when here especially likes to clean shower!! We are going to daughters for a barbeque if rain stays away .Have a good day if you can.

LauraNorderr Sun 25-Jun-23 10:28:49

Good morning Mick, good morning all from a grey but dry Anglesey. Lots of dead heading to do in the garden today after strong winds on Friday blasted the roses and almost flattened the hollyhocks.
Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday 🦩

Taichinan Sun 25-Jun-23 11:00:20

A very late good morning from a warm and humid Angus coast. Tai chi on the beach was really lovely yesterday, with 20 people turning up to join in. I only did one set as the shifting surface wasn't best for me knee, but watching them all do the next set as I sat on the rocks was a wonderfully calming experience. Unfortunately I was feeling pretty grotty (internals!) so just went home and flopped afterwards. Slept all afternoon, on and off in the evening and then all night til 9am! I get the feeling I must have needed that.
So today may be a little more active, though nothing planned. There's rain/thunder forecast for this afternoon - which doesn't bode well for the towel wash I have on at the moment.
I hope all continues to go well with recovering poorlies and the brave Marydoll. Enjoy your warm and relaxing Sunday everyone x
