Well done, Juliee! Onward and upward!
Happy Birthday Mr MD!🥃🎂

Juliee Tue 27-Jun-23 12:52:00

Good morning from Siberia.

Hope your day goes well.
I eventually got my employment card after many weeks of visiting government offices. I hate beaurocracy and making up the rules as they go along.
I am working this evening.

My hot water comes on tomorrow after 2 weeks of showering using a bucket. I really look forward to a long shower!!

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset

Life is quiet here. Todays excitement has been picking up a friend from an MoT station. Offered to take her back when it’s done but suspect she’ll get the bus, she hates being anything other than independent.

Mick I was once told by a surgeon to remember internal healing takes longer than external. Please take it easy and listen to your body.

A happy birthday to Mr Marydoll. Sorry life’s so hard Maryd. You’re a pretty impressive woman you know.

Looks like it’s my week for being a taxi. Another friend has just sent a message, could I give her a lift to the hospital on Thursday, as her leg is in plaster not the best time for getting on a bus. Truly don’t mind. Good to have some purpose.

Have the best day you can everyone

Good Morning all from stopped raining Harrogate.
Gn in my house is going from bad to worse. Haven't been able to get it on my iPhone, now my iPad has stopped. Have to wait until I'm up and dressed to use my workbook. Trying to find time to deal with them is not easy, especially since my desk has all but collapsed and I'm trying to make it more secure.
Your body could take 6 weeks to get back to normal Mick so don't rush it, you'll get there eventually.
Sorry you are not doing so well Marydoll I keep hoping you will manage to perk up soon.
We are hoping to hear good news soon from both of you Kalu and Urms you are both missed.
Have the best day possible folks!

Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast.
That’s frustrating for you Mick, but you will certainly enjoy your food when things settle down.
I’m out nearly every day at the moment, but art is cancelled on Friday so that gives me a day at home. It’s about time some housework was attempted.
Tried new folk club yesterday and enjoyed it, but worried that my ‘secret’ parking spot will soon disappear as the drive in is being concreted and smartened up. We’ll see…
I’m on the desk and singing at music club today and there is a birthday, so cake will be provided and I have made a card for the birthday guitarist.
Thoughts to Urms Kalu and all with troubles.
.

Sadly not enough shocking pink. It’ll have to be black/white very tiny print!

Good morning everyone from soggy Lancashire where it is drizzling and cooler at a mere 15°.

Sorry you’re suffering Mick, enjoy the cycling.

Fire hydrant training sounds interesting Ashcombe.

Sorry you’re not too good Marydoll, happy birthday to MrDoll and hope those drugs settle down.

Happy holidays Ginny, it sounds lovely.

Yesterday was very windy, I had intended to walk down to the river but gave up crossing the bridge. I didn’t want to lose my hat or my balance! I had a shorter walk in the shelter of the trees instead. Today will be a little housework, physio and possibly a walk, weather permitting. I enjoy walking in summer rain but it can get very slippery underfoot.

Thinking of Kalu, Urms and all who are dealing with illness right now.

Have a good day all 🌻🌻🌻

Good Morning from a cool and drizzly S Yorks.

which is not a problem as my gardener came yesterday and I joined her for a bit and the garden looking so nice and tidy so some rain now welcome for the lawn and some new planting.

Greyduster that has inspired me a I have a small coffee table very much in need of same. Best birthday to MrD, take t slow now Mick and GM I think your pink cheesecloth garment sounds Ab Fab.

Today s counselling Zoom then a very much needed visit to the hairdresser to put back some shape and body to untamed locks.

Bests for poorlies today, and may outings and family be enjoyed.

Good morning from overcast Norfolk which continues to delight with seal watching, local samphire and seafood.
Thinking of brave grans facing troubles.

harrigran Tue 27-Jun-23 09:06:40

Good morning from the NE where it is cooler and we have drizzle.
Got carried away watching Glastonbury and spent too long in front the of the TV yesterday.
Sister rang to give me an update on BIL's ruptured Achilles tendon, he how has a boot on so can at least put his foot on the floor. It is going to be a long recovery time and hopefully he won't need the operation to repair the damage.
Take it easy Mick and follow all guidelines on diet, it takes a while for the gut to settle down. I still have to be careful with diet, some food groups cause discomfort.
Thoughts are with poorly people and their carers.
Happy Birthday to Mr MD.

EkwaNimitee Tue 27-Jun-23 09:00:59

Good morning Mick and all from Carlisle. It is cool, grey and damp so back to a normal summer then!

I changed the bedding, did the laundry and cleaned the bathrooms yesterday, that was me taking it easy...Well, I didn't get the vacuum out as I would normally do. After that, I managed to read an entire book, a not too mentally challenging one. Reproved by the fitness app on my watch this morning, need to do better today!
I will get the vac out shortly and hopefully will get out in the garden this afternoon, rain permitting. Plus there is the eternal admin.....

Mick I hope you have professional support to call on if necessary. It's not easy, sitting about when you'd rather be up and about and it's good the Tour is about to start for you to watch.

Happy birthday to MrMD, he deserves a good one, and best wishes as ever to you Marydoll.

And wishing you all a pleasant day.

brook2704 Tue 27-Jun-23 08:44:46

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a bit cloudy with a gentle breeze
Sad news for your neighbours marydoll how tragic for the family. On a brighter note wishing your DH a very Happy Birthday 🎉🎂🍷
We had a really good nights sleep and only just woken up, hence the late post from me. Yesterday was a good busy day with a long catch up with my friend who’s just returned from holiday in Italy. Today we’re doing the usual school pick up as the schools don’t finish here until the end of this week.
Hoping you’re feeling a bit better soon Jax
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 27-Jun-23 08:42:38

Happy Birthday to MrDoll 🎂🍺
It’s a good job the birthday man didn’t decide to do a good deed for you and take the charity bags to the shop Marydoll 😱

Good morning from rainy South Lanarkshire.

Mick it really does take time to recover from surgery. I remember last year it took many weeks before I felt halfway normal and even longer to build up strength.
Try to eat small amounts of whatever you fancy. Are you seeing your GP or a nurse?

Oh Marydoll, you don’t have your troubles to seek. I’ll hold your poor friend’s family in my prayers.

I’m having my hair cut this morning and hoping that it will look better. It was a casualty of my illness and surgery and a year on still looks thin and tired, I do realise that it isn’t important though, I’m just being a bit vain.

Later I’ll meet a friend for dinner. She’s younger than I, works full time and is hugely busy so we don’t meet as often these days but always enjoy each other’s company.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day, thoughts as ever with Kalu and Urms.

Grammaretto Tue 27-Jun-23 08:34:34

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Chilly here so far. I have my regular appointment with the chiropractor this morning and then maybe a new project. I booked my trip away next month: bus, bus, train, boat, taxi! Thanks to my bus pass the entire trip is costing £14.50 without the taxi
One way. Not sure about coming back yet grin

I am sorry Mick that the healing isn't faster but you will feel better in a week or two.
Marydoll I wish you were better able to enjoy life without these wretched health problems. Happy birthday to Mr MD.
It's my young visitor's last day today. I think we'll go to the folk club tonight. He'll enjoy that.
Have a good day everyone.

Greyduster Tue 27-Jun-23 08:30:06

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It rained here overnight so it’s considerably cooler. More rain expected later. Mick your system will settle - just give it time.
I did some gardening yesterday morning and got a bit carried away so my legs are complaining today. I also cleaned my bedroom and noticed how shabby the top of my pine dressing chest was looking so I got some fine sandpaper and wire wool and gave it a rub down and then treated it to some beeswax polish and it came up a treat. Then I fell asleep on the sofa! I plan to go for a swim later this morning, and make a batch of bolognese sauce for the freezer.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 27-Jun-23 08:28:14

Good morning from an overcast Oxfordshire, the sun was intermittent yesterday and it was much cooler.
Seems I haven’t got Hayfever I think it’s the flu, all the symptoms, (negative Covid test, just in case after our awful flight home) anyway slept 12 hours last night which is a first.
So a nothing day today, except me, a box of tissues, constant drinks courtesy of MrOops and Paracetamol. Sorted.
Hope everyone continues to feel a bit better each day, hugs for those who are looking after unwell family or are stressed.

Georgesgran Tue 27-Jun-23 08:27:25

Good morning from Durham. Definitely cooler today and a bit of drizzle. A very unsettled night with dreams of being chased.
Yesterday’s post didn’t appear, but it wasn’t earth shattering. After meeting a couple of friends, I renewed my PO travel insurance which has gone down £10, ordered a new EHIC and some bits and bobs from Amazon.
Plumber coming this morning to fit a fancy new tap, then meeting a friend for coffee, if it’s done in time. Have agreed to keep little dog until tomorrow now, saves an unnecessary drive tonight, as I’ll be going up there tomorrow anyway.
Thinking of our poorly GNs and their families and others who are not posting, due to difficult times, but possibly reading.
Best wishes to all. X

Jaxjacky Tue 27-Jun-23 08:20:10

Morning from cloudy, sun trying to peek through, S Hants.
Slow and steady Mick tedious, but necessary.
I’m tired this morning, these blood thinners do take their toll, but onwards, bedding is in the machine and I’ve watered the front pots.
Safe journey ginny enjoy your holiday.

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull.

I’m sorry your stomach still isn’t feeling good to eat properly Mick. Enjoy the Tour de France it will cheer you up.

Happy birthday to your DH Marydoll 🎂 I’m sorry you have been having a rough time health wise💐

I have just got up come downstairs and my poor DH said he forgot to put a cup under the spout on the coffee machine and it went everywhere 🤦 he’s had a bit of cleaning up to do poor love.
I need to go to the Beverley register office today to pick up an official copy of our wedding certificate I ordered from them. We need to send off documents to China so our son can get new GS his British passport. Our birth certificates are ordered as well as they only accept official copies. 🤞 they get to China.
I’ll pick up some lunch and eat it at mums but won’t stay to long as you can’t tear her away from the tele when the tennis is on.

Have a lovely day everyone I’m so pleased it’s cooler 🌻🌻

Good morning from a damp & drizzly Sefton. At last, a typical British summer's day. How wonderful.
GD1's 5th birthday yesterday. We met her from school & stayed awhile to 'help' her open her presents. Big party for her on Saturday, 30+ children in an echoey hall. Think we might give it a miss!
Zoom exercise class this morning & then a visit to the bank in a nearby town. This will be closing down soon & our nearest bank will be a trek into the city. Cannot persuade DH into online banking.
Take it easy Mick. The healing process cannot be rushed. Unfortunately the older we get the longer it can take.
