Worse than finding a spider

They move so quickly don't they Lizbethann. Keep your DH in the living room until it re emerges and can be caught and put outside.

Doesn't bother me at all. However, if it was a mouse, very different story!

Never understood spider phobia. I’m the spider catcher in my family 😂

Anyone who fears spiders or any other creature should take the time to learn about them. Then you realise they are not frightening. Nothing is out to get you. A spider is only interested in catching its prey. Just leave them alone. They are fascinating.

DH and DD were and are arachnophobic so I have always had the job of removing spiders
DD was just telling me how terrified she was on entering 5he shower block on a Scottish campsite

Just to add I would never kill one. It always gets put outside.

I have a spider phobia. Totally illogical I know. I also hate wasps but I know where that comes from, a childhood incident when I was attacked by a swarm of them, very angry due to their nest being disturbed... not by me I hasten to add.
I'm OK with snakes, frogs, toads and lizards though. 😊

Don't mind spiders - I'd rather have a few in the house than a fly buzzing around the bedroom at night!

And even worse : my idea of horror is to open a packet of vegetables and find a snake inside as some poor man did recently .

I’ve read about spiders, I know how they live and what they do etc but I’m still terrified of them. We’ve lived in countries where a bite from a jumping spider (which is small!) can land you in hospital for weeks or months.

I had a spider on the washing drying outside recently. It was bright green! ✳️ I wasn’t scared of it and just brushed it away so maybe all spiders should be that colour.

I’m not scared of spiders. But when I get one of those huge ones that run incredibly fast and disappear under chairs and sofas it freaks me out. However, I’ve realised that my hand held GTech Air ram sucks up insects without hurting them so if it happens again I’ll sit there holding my vacuum and be ready for it.

I don’t mind anything except dogs. I’m not scared generally , I just don’t like being ran at, jumped up on, or slobbered over when I’m out for a walk 🤮

One of my unspoken criteria for Mr. Right, many moons ago, was the ability to remove spiders with aplomb.
Mr. I fitted the bill in so many ways.

Sadly, these days, he (a) has to have them pointed out to him, then (b) find his glasses and (c) move fast enough/be agile enough to actually catch them.

Esmay, I read about that too. It wasn't even exotic veg, just brocolli from Aldi. My poor DH has a full blown fear of snakes ( he quite literally cannot even look at a picture of one!) I didn't dare tell him about the brocolli snake for fear of his reaction.

I am with you Lixy, a fly in my bedroom drives me mad , no way could I sleep with a fly buzzing round! Spiders don't bother me , have a large jam jar and a sheet of thin metal always to hand . Pop the jar over the spider slide the metal under and then release the spider outside - I always ask it nicely to please not come back ! I never kill spiders.

Found one between my pillows last week. Caught it but had to strip the bed and re make it before I could get in!

I tell my cleaner not to kill any spiders they find in dark corners, just leave them be. They catch flies. If necessary I will put them outside myself.

I’m spraying everywhere with peppermint. Spring cleaning after having a couple of windows and a door fitted and I’ve got those long legged spiders everywhere.
