Oopsadaisy1 Tue 04-Jul-23 06:07:07

Good morning Mick and all who follow, have you spoken to your team at the hospital Mick? They should be able to set your mind at rest or get you an appointment.
Wet here In Oxfordshire, awake at silly o’clock.
Mustn’t wake up,MrOops as he’s only just gone to sleep, this flu bug he has is very strange, but he said at 4am that he feels a bit better. Apart from popping to the shop and bed changing an easy day for me.
Have a good day everyone.

RosesandLilac Tue 04-Jul-23 06:12:02

Good morning Mick and everyone from a damp hill in south Gloucestershire, some more very welcome overnight rain it seems!
I’m sorry you had a disturbed night, hopefully things will improve soon for you.
Yesterday another lovely dog walk first thing then some gardening before we had a shower. A friend popped in for coffee which was nice.
Today dog walker comes so I will do a few chores and sort out what I want to take next week when I have another craft course - the last one this year.
I hope you all have a good day 🌹

Good morning early birds it looks like a little light rain is forecast for today here on the east coast of Fife
I’m happy today the hairdresser is coming to the house I’m so needing a trim I’m looking like a shaggy dog at the moment
My usual hairdresser is in hospital having had a gastric band operation in Turkey I’m hoping she recovers soon she’s a lovely person

Have a good day my friends keep safe it’s still out there.

Good morning from Kirkwall. It is dry at last, I hope the wind will be less vicious today.
What didn’t we do yesterday? Everything is starting to merge. We had lunch in a very underwhelming Stromness…. We did go to a large number of Neolithic tombs and circles.
There was the Stenness circle and Barnhouses near the ring of Brodgar. Far more interesting and curiously more impressive than the larger henge.
Another place we visited was the almost inaccessible passage tomb at Winderness (?). It was a 1/2 mile walk along a hillside near Finstown. Well worth it, if one is fit and able, if only for the view over the bay/firth.
Today, we only have the car until midday, but will try to visit a dig near the tomb of the eagles 🦅.
Last day, going home tomorrow morning 🙁. It has been wonderful to a) have a holiday, b) to have time with DS who, apart from being infuriating when he puts his mind to it, is one of the most interesting people I know.
A bit sad today, it is a year since DH died. DS will visit a distillery and have a dram for his dad. He would have liked that.
Carpe diem, my dear friends, as mentioned in another thread. Live for today/for the moment. 🦩🦩🦩❤️🦩

Ashcombe Tue 04-Jul-23 06:30:54

Good morning from a cloudy Torbay.

I hope there is someone you could ring for advice and reassurance, Mick. Take good care.
That flu bug is lingering, Oopsadaisy1. Get well soon!
It’s good you have company for this sad anniversary, grandMattie; what a lot you have achieved in that year!

Thank you for the wonderfully supportive comments yesterday regarding my hospital experience last year. It was too painful to discuss at the time hence I didn’t mention it on the GM threads, thinking I’d put it behind me more easily. I haven’t reported it because I couldn’t face going back to the hospital should that have become necessary. Luckily, my follow up appointments are at a satellite clinic at my local hospital. No doubt questions were asked at the time but the only contact from the hospital was immediately afterwards to ensure I went to my local hospital for the medication required.

My consultation was helpful and I was assessed to see what next step would be most appropriate. I will be contacted when my case has been discussed.

Props this morning then Front of House for the opening night of HMS Pinafore from our local G & S society which hires out theatre each year.

Enjoy whatever the day brings. 🦩🥰😎💐🦩

Good morning from an overcast Cornwall, nice and cool. The pair of frogs who have introduced themselves to my allotment pond are growing rapidly - obviously finding plenty to eat. A large painted lady butterfly sat on my shoulder drying her wings yesterday, obviously having just emerged. And my prolific blackcurrant bush was covered in ants. I love ants, weird I know! As usual I came home happy and refreshed.

Shingles jab today then packing up several bags of books and things for a Heart Foundation collection tomorrow, amazed they'll still collect from your home.

Mizuna Tue 04-Jul-23 06:37:06

A year grandMattie! Where did that go?!

Grandmabatty Tue 04-Jul-23 06:44:32

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and damp. I think rain is forecast. Mick you should contact your doctor for advice. Poor you. GrandMattie I can't believe it's a year already. Goodness, how much you have achieved since that sad day. Ash what a truly horrible experience for you.
Yesterday I never stopped once I picked up the boys. I had done easily 11000 steps! By night I was exhausted. Soft play, swings, walk to the motorway to see lorries then garden. Both boys were reasonable (for a four year old and a toddler).
Today more childcare. Rain is forecast so puddle suits on and splashing. I might take them to a local country park for a while. Chicken curry for dinner. Have a good day all

Whitewavemark2 Tue 04-Jul-23 06:48:02

Good morning from an overcast South Downs.

Sad anniversary gm

I too love ants mizuma - well any wildlife really - it is so precious.

Not a lot on the table today. Giving the shower a good scrub down - clean outlet etc.

Will sit and give my very complicated knitting pattern a go. Hope it is worth the effort, but the wool was expensive even at half price.

Roast lamb today.

Enjoy your day everyone.

kittylester Tue 04-Jul-23 06:48:54

Good morning all from a, currently, sunny and bright North Leicestershire.

Off to Sing it Happy this morning - last one before September although we are performing at Fetes etc over the summer.

Have a good day all.

karmalady Tue 04-Jul-23 06:50:18

Good morning. s somerset will be cold and wet the whole day, a warm clothes day for me

Ash, most of us are sending good healing, that your body recovers and that the trauma goes away. GM flowers no words needed, in some ways year two is harder because year one is so busy, be aware of that

I am only doing a small shop later, followed by pottering and pleasure activities of knitting and reading. I keep pushing hmrc info gathering to the back of my mind, that also needs doing

Have a good day

GrannyGravy13 Tue 04-Jul-23 07:17:39

Morning all

Mick I think you need to contact either your GP or the hospital, just to check that your ongoing symptoms are normal

grandMattie where on earth has the time gone, I hope you can remember with a smile 💐

Ashcombe our minds are complicated, I hope you can find some closure.

It’s grey here, I have an Everest of ironing to attack (oh how I wish I could get over my need to iron bedding and everything , maybe it’s a form of OCD). I will then decide on something for dinner, get it prepared before I pick up The Imp from preschool and his brother from school, they always seem ravenous at 3.15pm 🤣

Have a good day folks (((hugs))) to all in need 🙋‍♀️🦩

grandMattie Tue 04-Jul-23 07:23:21

Gg13. I do remember the good times, the silly things he said and did, we laugh a lot about DH. Of course, I’m occasionally ambushed by something ridiculous, but… that’s how it is!
Me too, I iron the bedding, mostly because I love the feel of an ironed sheet/pillowcase!

Jaxjacky Tue 04-Jul-23 07:25:23

Morning from an overcast S Hants.
I hope MrOops is on the up, this has dragged on Oops.
You should be proud of yourself gMattie you’ve achieved so much 💐.
Very brave Ash I really hope counselling helps your mind heal as well as your body has.
Lovely lunch yesterday for my daughter’s 37th birthday, grandchildren too as inset days.
We came third in quiz last night, not bad as we were one down.
Rain due, so an indoor day.
🦩🦩

ShazzaKanazza Tue 04-Jul-23 07:25:51

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a beautiful Hull morning.

So sorry you’ve had a bad night Mick.

Thinking of you today grandMattie I remember waking up that morning reading your sad news💐

Today I am taking my mum back to her caravan for her next two weeks and she’ll be glued to Wimbledon for the whole time. I’ll go on to my uncle and take his shopping and visit with him. Two weeks ago his freezer had totally frozen up due to him not closing it properly and I had to defrost it with spatula. Today I will take my hairdryer just in case to blast it quickly if he’s done it again. He blames the freezer saying it’s a poor one not himself.

Have a lovely day everyone. Thoughts to those poorly or worried about family members🌻🌻

baubles Tue 04-Jul-23 07:27:59

Good morning all from cloudy South Lanarkshire.

Sorry to hear that you had a rough night Mick.

GM thanks

Enjoy your home hairdressing appointment multi.

Another busy day for you Grandmabatty, it’s probably harder work than my day in the charity shop and that’s saying something. grin

I’m covering another shop today so that’s always a slightly different experience, less pressure as no admin to deal with.

Haven’t the best day possible everyone.

cornergran Tue 04-Jul-23 07:28:39

Morning Mick, morning All from a damp and cloudy corner of Somerset.

Thank goodness the wind bringing heavy fortunately short lived showers has eased. Yesterdays walk was round a shopping mall where at one point we could see horizontal rain outside, so windy, our garden is full of leaves.

Routine today, some cleaning, grocery delivery to put away and general faffing.

Mick please get some medical advice on your symptoms, the GP if not the hospital. Just to make sure all is well. I’m pleased you have company today grandmattie flowers. My belief is we can’t separate mind and body ash, I’m not surprised support with healing is needed after your experience. Goodness you’re energetic grandmab, hope today goes to plan and Tuesday is kind to us all.

Beechnut Tue 04-Jul-23 07:30:15

Good morning all from a dull Severnside. A day of rain forecast.

GrandMattie 💐 I agree with karma and her words of the second year. The first year, all very different goes by and you realise you have to do it all again.

A day with plenty to get on with indoors and some card making later. I will be using my new cutting dies.

Good wishes to everyone 🌷

Greyduster Tue 04-Jul-23 07:48:32

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a sunny South Yorkshire. The wind seems to have dropped at last. I slept well last night, thankfully, so hoping for a better day today. SiL is coming round to leave his car in my drive for a few days while he borrows a larger vehicle from work to go camping at Silverstone with GS for the Grand Prix.
I may go for a swim later on, but my first job this morning will be to wash the kitchen floor - I spilled a glass of elderflower cordial last night just before I went to bed and didn’t have the energy to do anything but wipe it up, so this morning it’s a sticky mess!
Mizuna there are a lot of painted ladies around this year aren’t there? I decanted one from my conservatory a couple of days ago and they’ve been busy in my garden. I don’t remember seeing any last year.
Have the best day you can folks.

Marydoll Tue 04-Jul-23 07:49:17

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its 12 °C. I've had a dreadful night, with little sleep, I'm afraid.

I can only repeat what others have said, Mick, you need to seek some medical advice, even if its only reassurance that this is normal.

I had a very quiet day yesterday and more of the same today. I'm half way through my course of heart medication, to try and settle things down. I am way too impatient for my own good, because my progress is too slow and I'm still restricted in what I can do. It's so frustrating.

Sending my best wishes to all, especially those who are struggling with ill health or burdened with worry.
GM, I cannot believe its a year already.💐

Have a good day folks.

ginny Tue 04-Jul-23 07:55:31

Good morning all.
Thanks again for all the anniversary wishes yesterday we had a lovely day.
Today we will be going a little further up the coast to a village pub for lunch. Other than that we’ll decide later.

Ash hope your sessions help.
Healing thoughts for all who are poorly or feeling down.

A couple of views from yesterday when we had a cream tea.

Georgesgran Tue 04-Jul-23 07:55:33

Good morning from Durhsm. Another grey, windy one from the look of it, cooler too. Little dog is snoring beside me.
Annual visit from the Financial Advisor today, a lovely man, but he can talk for England and stays for hours. I’ve told him I have an appointment at 2pm, so his visit is ‘limited’ to 4 hours!
Mick in your position, I think I’d ring for some advice. Meanwhile, I hope our other poorly GNs are following medical instructions.
Best wishes to all. X

monk08 Tue 04-Jul-23 07:58:24

Good morning all from the Black country where the sun is making a breakthrough, we had torrential rain for 10 minutes yesterday then it cleared.
Our bin men have just been after being on strike for 4wks just need them to take the recycling now that's what I have the most of.
DH needs to go back for more wax removal next week very impacted in the one ear.
No plans as yet for today.
grandMattie you have achieved so much in that year so glad your son is with you today 💐
For everyone enjoy your day whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Liberty Tue 04-Jul-23 08:02:52

Good morning all from a sunny Suffolk. There was a very interesting talk at last night’s AGM of the local NSPCC on online abuse of children. I’m not at all techno savvy and didn’t realise that every image taken can be linked to the actual router used and the address where it based.

Today I’m meeting a friend for coffee in a new deli she wants to try and then my annual medical r3view this afternoon.

Today is as good as it can be for all.
