Definitely better than some names I've been called when I was working 😃
A bright but cool morning here in Sefton but has been raining overnight.
Have been really busy since Friday afternoon when DH's sister & husband arrived for the weekend. A gathering of the family on Saturday & Sunday. Singing group yesterday morning & last minute request from DS1 for a school pickup & some "child minding".
Today we are meeting some friends from Llandudno for lunch. We meet halfway in a lovely country pub in N Wales. We usually lead a somewhat quiet life - by preference - so it has all felt rather frantic. It's lovely to see everyone but it's so much easier to cope & enjoy when "events" are spread out.
Am running late this morning, I have a zoom exercise class shortly so will have to catch up with you all later. Have a good day.
Good morning Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it was raining at three o’clock when I looked out of the window🙄! A very sleepless night. I have to pick SiL up from his workplace this morning to bring him back here to pick up his car, which has been on my drive for a week. Fortunately he works very close to my house. Other than that, a quiet day. I may need a nap later on anyway!
Have the best day you can folks.
Good Morning from a damp S Yorks.
Hope you get your nap, Grey.
Just a little swim and sauna today and long hot shower (better than home, bigger, more water!) at the gym then finish packing for tomorrow. Bro is collecting me at 10am so want to make sure have packed kitchen sink today. The weather is going got b so uncertain its not clear what range of clothes needed except for rainproof stuff.
Best for poorlies (Marydoll wise decision for service only) and Cornergran that MrC doesn't have too long to wait.
I wrote a tricky letter yesterday as I'm not happy with the GP whom I'm due to have a face to face with - want to see the one who knows me really well - silly to do otherwise really as saves so much time, but she is very popular. Tricky as it involved aspects of saying "I dont really want to see you" with great tact.
Enjoy outings and family, and hope rain does not spoil too many days.
DGD1 had a good day at school and has been roped in to help with the leavers’ musical next week, a good use of her talents and time. Can’t believe that the adored baby is now grown up, but she is and I am just providing bed, board and laundry.
Supermarket shop this morning and then a history society committee to finalise the plans for the coming winter session - what a thought! Still getting used to coping with summer.
Better news of Mick, which is good, and sympathy to the Corners dealing with a worrying level of uncertainty. Hope Marydoll’s day goes to plan.
Good morning. Grey skies here in the Lizard peninsula so no particular plans yet. We will relax around ‘ camp’ and see it the weather improves.
Rosesandlilac your painting holiday sounds interesting , I’d love to see some of your work.
My thoughts are with those who are or have dear ones who are poorly.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.
Good morning from Durham - bright and breezy again. DGS1’s first sports day yesterday - everyone took part and he won 2 races, not that anything was very competitive, but he was very good on a Space Hopper! Coffee with a friend first today, then Little Dog is going home (at last). He is company, but a bit tying and comes back again for a week at the end of the month.
I’ve a lampshade to exchange in John Lewis, so I can do that after I’ve dropped Little Dog off and treat myself to coffee and cake too.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It's sunny here and I have overslept but don't care!
DCuz will do her own thing today and we'll meet later on and find somewhere nice to eat to celebrate my late DH's birthday.
Yesterday was exhausting. The bus we were on was a direct route to Edinburgh so the driver let us off about 3 miles from home and we walked along overgrown footpaths or very fast roads without pavements!
She did say it was always an adventure staying with me!
I'm glad Mick is getting help.
Brookand Ash are safely home and Ash reunited with OD
gMattie achieves more in half a day than most of us in a year!I was never like that Marydoll
I saw a post from Urms and send my love.
Have a lovely day every one.
Morning all
Greyish but rather humid here, I have an empty we have a big Trade Show all day in our showrooms and yard, DH is going in as an extra pair of hands I would normally be there as well, but have decided to stay home and enjoy the peace and quiet.
Gingster we have been there for lunch, beautiful setting (we sat outside on the deck ) food was all home made and very good.
Sorry to hear Mr.C’s op is cancelled, MaryDoll take things easy and geandMatie I am a pushover for lemon drizzle cake. Ashcombe pleased you are home safe along with your DH.
Have a good day folks (((hugs))) for all in need 🙋♀️🦩
Good morning Mick and everyone from bright Carlisle. Showers may happen...again.
Yesterday evening was not of the best. I'd pottered through various jobs during the day but come the late afternoon, I developed a mild migraine headache . Along with it, tingling sensations from tongue to toes on that side. Now I am prone to developing tingling down that arm if I lie on it too long in bed, if I shift, it goes. This tingling went on and on and, although I was almost certain it and the migraine were linked to my kidney infection, I was a tad concerned that something more serious was going on. So instead of toddling off to my cosy bed, I rang 111 and eventually, instead of getting reassurance that it was really nothing to worry about, they insisted on an appointment at the out of hours clinic. This around 1am by now! The doc concurred with my diagnosis and assured me it wasn't the feared stroke. I got more antibiotics, the previous ones having been deemed not the most appropriate. Went home by taxi in rain of biblical proportions, the driver giving me his views on the state of the NHS, very dim ones of those running it! I always find the front line staff great though.
Incidentally, the A&E waiting area was busy with folk who had just gone up and looked as though they would be waiting hours. I wondered if they knew they could ring 111 and possibly get an appointment. And, even on a Monday night, there was one man shouting his head off about something until security sorted him out. Glad to get back to my cosy bed and a lie in this morning followed by gentle pottering.
The latter will include more deadheading in the garden. I must have all the local bees and hoverflies in it, the bees are really noisy! Also have had a delightful trio of Small Tortoiseshells. Everything seems to be attracted by my phenomenally successful lavenders.
Still on matters medical, I'm sorry to hear your news Corner, disappointing and worrying for you.
Wishing you all the best possible day.
Good morning from the Essex Coast. Cloudy but quite warm.
I had a good day out at Bluewater yesterday with DD2 and 2 DGD's. The M25 was very slow but moving, thank goodness.
DH has gone to a Dermatology appointment this morning. I am off to the chemist shortly to pick up some medication.
My very best wishes to Urms and her DH, lovely to read her post last night.
Have a good day everyone xxx
Good morning from a grey W Kent. DF coming this morning, I haven't seen her for some weeks as she has been on a cruise, I am guessing I won't have to say much. U3A AGM later, OH bit reluctant to go as he thinks it will be boring but I am more nosy.
EkwaNimitee glad everything got sorted out all a bit heavy going in the early hours.
Wyllow3 I hope the letter works and you get to see the GP of your choice, I have seen more of the surgery paramedic than any GP of late years.
gM that is a lot of cake, wish I was coming.
Marydoll not the dreaded ladder please!
Best wishes to all
Good morning everyone from cloudy Lancashire.
I’m glad to hear you have spoken to the nursing team and your medication deliveries are sorted Mick
I’m feeling like I’ve been punched in the stomach after yesterday’s bad news and really appreciate all your kind comments and support.
Thinking of Kalu, Urms and all who are dealing with illness right now.
Have a good day all 🌻🌻🌻
Willow My late DS had that problem - he needed to see a GP but told me that if he had Dr. X (who was always free as he wasn't popular) "he would punch him in the face". So it was me that made the appointment for him, gently advising the dragons of the situation...
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning Mick and all from sunny Biarritz,
My Dsister didn’t arrive to join us as expected last night as her flight was cancelled, we expect her tonight.
We had a nice beach day after shopping in the lovely patisseries, etc here, such lovely shops. The sea is wonderful and so refreshing after a patch of sunbathing. I haven’t read my book as the people watching has taken up my time. Many stylish French people.
I hope your prescription helps Mick and thoughts to all with troubles of any kind. Will read through properly later.
Good morning from a cool Co Armagh, rain forecast but it doesn’t always happen
A nothing day here
Yesterday I overbought groceries ! No idea how I’m going to get through it all , I might stuff some bits in the freezer !
Lovely ripe flat / donut peaches and nice strawberries will be ok , no chance of them being wasted !
The tiny tomatoes I got in M+S last week are inedible unless roasted , just as well I have the airfryer , but Lidl had tasty tomatoes which I prefer , my crop in the greenhouse isn’t ready yet
Thinking of the tomatoe sauce I made and froze last year had me rummaging to see if I had any left , but no luck !
Best wishes for a peaceful day x
