I wish these calls were made in the morning as then you are more likely to get some sleep. I've had worrying calls late in the day and it always feels quite dark then..
(I have also had several worrying - but "not so serious" - letters arrive from my GP on a Saturday and wish they wouldn't do that)

I’m sorry you’re in a bad place ATM, Mick. Radiotherapy isn’t bad at all except for the time it takes. Marydoll, I hope yesterday was better for you.
I had a text from the plumber saying he needed immediate authority from management, otherwise he has to give my slot to someone else. As the bathroom floor is getting spongier daily with the leak from the wall/drain, I can’t bear to wait another 10 weeks for the floor to be replaced. I’m going to need to do some begging for this blooming authority. Worrying me a lot. What if the floor gives way?
Today, I’m going to tai chi, then dinner with DD and family.

It’s understandable that you’re worried, Mick, A neighbour of mine had his chemo administered in tablet form so he was able to take those at home. I expect you'll learn more about your treatment in the coming days.

We enjoyed a walk over the Downs last night to our favourite hostelry before returning home to the remains of a curry for dinner. Today I’m having my hair cut and coloured, which is long overdue as it’s three months since my last visit!

I hope today is good to everyone, especially those with worries of any kind. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It is Milo and Ripley’s 13th birthday. They will have something special for dinner. OH and I are off to London later. Our daughter bought us an Afternoon Tea voucher for Christmas and we’re using it today. We are going to pop into the National Portrait Gallery first as OH hasn’t been for over three years.

Good morning from a sunny, dry NE.
Dodged the showers yesterday when we went shopping and managed a short walk during the afternoon.
Spent a long time trying to get through to the bank to chase up an ISA that I arranged in May, they told me it would take 15 days and I still haven't heard anything.
Chemotherapy for bowel cancer is usually in tablet form and is taken at home. I had to attend an oncology unit, have a blood test and then they would ring me the next day to tell me if I could go ahead and take the drugs. This type of Chemotherapy does not usually result in hair loss but it can cause some side effects. I developed very sore hands and feet and my sense of taste changed from the very first dose.

Thinking of all the poorly people.

Mick, I am sorry you had such worrying news. My friend's DH was in a similar situation last year, diagnosed after a routine bowel screening test. He had no symptoms, so had no idea. He was prescribed a chemo tablet, described by the consultant as belt and braces.
You said the consultant said may, so there will probably be a consultation with the him first, before anything happens.
There is no way of sugar coating this type of news.
I find the cardiologists are the most blunt, they say it as it is and my GP totally agrees with me!

GM, I'm so sorry to hear of your problems, I hope you find a resolution quickly, it must be so worrying.

Thank you for all your good wishes yesterday. A call to the surgery for a consultation is on the cards today, I'm not doing too well at the moment.
My quality of life is quite poor and it's blooming hard work, trying to remain positive these days!

On a more positive note, the newly refurbished Burrell Museum won the Museum of the Year Award, my DIL was project manager for the renovations, I'm so proud of her! #proudMIL.

Good morning from a very cool, damp Cornwall, lovely. Mick, you're in good hands. Yesterday my friend and I couldn't mend my sewing machine but we babbled with excitement at seeing each other after an absence of several months and oh, how we laughed.

gM, is there no-one you can ring to get an immediate solution? I know how frustrating it can be waiting for a response from the powers-that-be.

Coffee with a friend this morning, a brief allotment trip to pick blackcurrants and then home to prepare for my art student tomorrow.

I am out with the walking group today and then having lunch with DD and GS. They are preparing to go on holiday abroad on Sunday for two weeks and I’m finding that peculiarly unsettling this year. This afternoon I have the delightful task of cleaning out the the wheelie bin. Oh the joys of living on your own!

Mizuna, I had a similar experience.
You know that most RA patients die from heart problems and there is not much we can do for you! said my previous consultant, who turned on his heels and walked away, leaving me to digest that piece of information. 😱

On a lighter note, I bought a lemon tree for myself and a lime tree for DD as an anniversary present. They are rather similar to the twigs we bought, I hope I live long enough to see some fruit! 😉

Yesterday I had a lovely catch up with a friend over breakfast which lasted for two hours. Then home to tackle the mountain of ironing and pack my suitcase for tomorrow's holiday. The start to the holiday isn't without drama. My Sil's dad was taking us to the airport, however when sil phoned him to check times, he had taken A hire instead. He's a casual taxi driver. This left is very much in the lurch and caused a monumental row between sil and his parents as his mum got involved too. My lovely aunt and uncle have stepped in and are taking us. It's very good of them as it's an early start.
Today I will clean out the fridge, change the bedding so it's fresh for my return and do a few last minute things. Pasta for dinner. Have a good day all

It’s been an exceedingly pleasant week of complete rest and pottering, so feel raring to go 🙂. It won’t last!

mick once you see the oncologist you will feel so much better as you can sort of put the worrying into their hands as it were. That’s how I felt.

gm a spongy floor is not good - I hope you get it sorted asap.

Had some very worrying news about our daughter in law last evening. Her heart condition is much more serious than anticipated. Urgent but not emergency surgery needed. Same hospital as Mr C although a different team. Feeling very helpless here.

Sainsbury's delivery this morning, and then dance classes this afternoon. Luckily I now have a lift there and back so should not be too bothered by the rain.

So sorry to hear your news, Mick but I'm sure your consultant knows best. My brother had the same after his op for the same condition, and is now 6/7 years down the line and in complete remission.

A meal from the Hairy Dieters' recipe book tonight, 'Spicy Pork and Rice', but I don't have any pork, so it will be turkey instead! An all in one dish which I have cooked many times; there will probably be enough left over to freeze a portion.
