Good Morning Everyone,
Start of another hot day here in brackley this morning.
Had a call from my consultant at the Churchill , I may have to have chemotherapy due to my bowel .
Had a worrying night.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and everyone from currently sunny Carlisle. Will it last?

No wonder you've had a worrying night Mick. I think there's been some helpful and reassuring advice on here this morning and I hope you soon get some definite information from your medical team.

Your cardiologist tale made me laugh Taichinan. Good on that patient!

I'm off to the dentist very shortly to have a broken tooth fixed. It should have been next week but there was a cancellation I was happy to take advantage of. Then it will be home to get my Tesco delivery and play catch up with the housework and/or ironing.

Do have the best possible day all of you.

Morning from high cloud in S Hants.
You’ll feel better when it’s explained Mick, the photo is for you, 2017, when we lived in France.
Have the best holiday Grandmabatty hopefully with some rest
Some bitty housework today, a walk and more pruning of tomatoes.

Good morning from Sefton where it is dry, having rained overnight, and the sun is making an appearance.
Two days ago a hedgehog left evidence it visits our garden. To the customary bowl of water, suitable food and a camera were added. Had it graced us again? Yes, followed by other wildlife. Wednesdays’s episode of Hedgehog Vision is yet to be viewed.
A visit to the dentist, DS coming for lunch and meeting friends this afternoon form my plans.
It’s understandable that you’ve had an unsettling night, Mick. The experience and advice of others here hopefully reassures you.
To all who face worries and troubles I send kind thoughts.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a good bright start to the day with some blue sky
Mick sorry to hear you’ll probably need further treatment, hoping all goes well
Worrying news about your Dil corner hoping she gets her treatment soon and recovers quickly
Today I’ve nothing much planned so I’m hoping to catch up with all my garden jobs, there’s always lots to do.
Waiting to hear your very good news soon Pittcity!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

GrannyGravy13 Thu 13-Jul-23 08:17:23

Morning all

Mick hopefully all can be made clearer when you have a face-to-face appointment with your consultant 🤞
The sun is shining but there are some clouds. Today is a bits and bobs sort of day, picking up winter duvet from cleaners, a bag from the shoe menders that needed stitching then a quick whizz round Aldi.

Safe travels for the holiday folks, (((hugs))) to the poorly and troubled folk.

Have a good day 🙋‍♀️🦩

Good morning from Sefton where it is managing to be both dull & bright at more or less the same time. At least it is dry. I believe a deluge is "planned" for tomorrow.
A quieter day today after the franticness of the past week. Zumba at the Parish Hall first then a visit to the fish van which will be parked nearby.
Nothing else planned for today but I do seem to have accumulated a pile of ironing which I can tackle if I get bored.😬
Positive thoughts for Mick & Marydoll & all of you with health worries & family struggles. Life can be very unfair.

Good morning..
Sorry to hear your news Mick but you are in good hands

Today we leave Cornwall and make our way home with an overnight stay just outside Weston Super Mere.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.

Taichinan Thu 13-Jul-23 07:59:53

Cornergran so sorry to hear that news about your d-i-l. You must all be so worried flowers
Grandmabattie I feel your excitement! Have a wonderful holiday - and enjoy your little grandsons without the responsibility. Any tantrums are handed straight over to mum and dad!

Pittcity Thu 13-Jul-23 07:55:01

Good morning from an overcast Braintree. DD2 and son-out-law are at the hospital and DGS2 and I are soon to leave on the school run. Today will be spent waiting for news of the arrival of our first DGD.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from a sunny Oxfordshire, sorry to hear your news Mick , if it’s any consolation a neighbour of mine had a similar outcome to her bowel surgery over 25 yrs ago and she is still out and about and Cancer free. Chemo certainly can be a real life saver.
MzOops is here with the GCs, we had a family take away last night with MissOops, nephew didn’t arrive, but they might see him today, this evening as it’s MzOops Birthday Boxing Day they are all going to the Cinema, due to her recent traumas she has lost so much weight but has turned it around and is now running each day, gone onto a Vegan diet which has also helped her menopause symptoms so a win win. She’s still a bit fragile, but her inner strength is pretty amazing.
So a family day today.
Thoughts are with those who are unwell or stressed, hope everyone manages to have a good day and that the heavy rain showers just. Stop.

Liberty Thu 13-Jul-23 07:50:38

Good morning from a bit of a sunny Suffolk. So sorry to read of upsetting news for some just now. Mick a dear friend of mine had the same op as you on the same day in another hospital and he has just learnt that chemotherapy is suggested for him. It seems to now be a routine follow up procedure as he was told it was to catch any cancer cells which had escaped during surgery. I hope you get further helpful reassuring information soon.

Apart from a 10 minute shower yesterday evening we’ve had no rain so I’ll be watering the garden this evening. Off to my stretch class in an hour or so and then a lazy day with the newspaper and my book….well I did tackle the ironing yesterday so think I’ve earned it.

Hope those with ill health or other worries find some comfort today.

Taichinan Thu 13-Jul-23 07:48:07

Just to add the the cardiologist tales ...
My neighbour was in hospital waiting for a triple by-pass op. The cardiologist was doing his round with his posse of students. He addressed the students, not the patient. "This is Mr B. He's had his op but we're concerned there seems to be no improvement". Mr B said "That will be because I haven't had my op yet"!

Grandmabatty Thu 13-Jul-23 07:42:12

Thank you Marydoll and Stilllearning. I haven't been on holiday since before the pandemic and then it was to Berlin and then Prague. It's my first holiday with the boys and I'm looking forward to it.

NannyJan53 Thu 13-Jul-23 07:41:54

Good morning from another cloudy and dull Black Country.

Walking group this morning, not been for a while as we were away.

My eldest granddaughter is 19 today! I remember at my 50th birthday party in the September. DS and his partner (now wife) said they were thinking of trying for a baby, and what did I think? 10 months later she was here. Such a lovely kind girl.

Tonight we are off for a meal to celebrate with family. Think it's a curry house.

So sorry to hear your news Mick hope all will be well after seeing the Consultant.

Wishing you all a lovely day, with special thoughts of Urms Kalu and anyone with health worries

Good morning my friends it’s a sunny start to the day here on the east coast of Fife where it’s expected to be 18 degrees later on .
My fans been on all night I must get my hive looked at cannot believe the house is so warm naturally.

It’s to be a good day today my twin sister who lives with me has calmed down at long last and has invited a friend of hers to lunch it’ll be fun catching up with her she so reminds me of my late older sister both in mannerisms and looks.

Have a good day or at least best you can

Stilllearning Thu 13-Jul-23 07:33:55

Good morning from S Lanarkshire, typing on my phone because my iPad is refusing to allow me to do so!

I’m really sorry to hear that you will need chemo Mick and I hope you can get some support through it.

Marydoll, you’re quite justified in being proud of your DIL!

I’m feeling a lot better than of late, helped by a great afternoon with a fellow Gransnetter.

Off to Glasgow today to have lunch with friends in a very nice Italian restaurant. I haven’t been in town for ages but I’ve heard it feels quite different and not in a good way so I’m curious as to what that means.

I hope you have a lovely family holiday Grandmabatty, I know you’ll love being with the children but take some time to yourself too!

As always thinking of those of us needing support. I loved the thought of you lighting candles for us all Aggie.

Wishing eveoa good day.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, but rain forecast this afternoon. We had several heavy showers yesterday but I managed to miss them on my way home from the well-being cafe. Sadly it was another bad day with hay fever......

Sainsbury's delivery this morning, and then dance classes this afternoon. Luckily I now have a lift there and back so should not be too bothered by the rain.

So sorry to hear your news, Mick but I'm sure your consultant knows best. My brother had the same after his op for the same condition, and is now 6/7 years down the line and in complete remission.

A meal from the Hairy Dieters' recipe book tonight, 'Spicy Pork and Rice', but I don't have any pork, so it will be turkey instead! An all in one dish which I have cooked many times; there will probably be enough left over to freeze a portion.

Wishes to all for a good day.

cornergran Thu 13-Jul-23 07:26:43

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset.

Understand the call was worrying mick. Remember it’s a ‘may’ at the moment. If you’ve a specialist nurse contact a call to them could help you talk it through. I’m sorry you’re struggling so much marydoll, hope there’s some lightness today.

grandmattie understand your frustration. Sometimes management companies have no common sense. Good luck today.

Oh heck, it’s just begun to rain. Had planned a trip to an NT property today. See how it goes. May head elsewhere.

Had some very worrying news about our daughter in law last evening. Her heart condition is much more serious than anticipated. Urgent but not emergency surgery needed. Same hospital as Mr C although a different team. Feeling very helpless here.

Hope the day brightens for us all.

monk08 Thu 13-Jul-23 07:26:23

Good morning all from an overcast Black country where we had rain overnight haven't looked at the forecast for today yet.
Mick sorry to hear your news hope you get sorted soon.
Marydoll you are right about the cardiologist before DH had his bypass the cardiologist told him it needed to be done asap as his heart was like a light switch no warning he would go just like that then he clicked his fingers.
No cooking again today we have been invited to DS for dinner. Thoughts with all the poorlies, enjoy your day everyone and may you all find some ☀️

Marydoll Thu 13-Jul-23 07:26:05

Mizuna

*Marydoll*, presumably lemon and lime conservatory trees? They sound lovely.

Yes, Mizuna. They are supposed to be quite hardy, but I suspect they would never survive a Scottish winter. 🌨☃️❄

luluaugust Thu 13-Jul-23 07:23:49

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Sorry to hear you had a bad night Mick I am sure you are in good hands.
Marydoll hope help is on its way soonest.
Off to art group this morning and a bit of tennis watching later.
All the best

Mizuna Thu 13-Jul-23 07:23:09

GMBatty, enjoy your holiday, it is well deserved after running after two wee ones. 🏖🍹

Whitewavemark2 Thu 13-Jul-23 07:19:06

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk Coast.

Our last day, and we may drift off home later this afternoon just to avoid the Friday traffic tomorrow.

It’s been an exceedingly pleasant week of complete rest and pottering, so feel raring to go 🙂. It won’t last!

mick once you see the oncologist you will feel so much better as you can sort of put the worrying into their hands as it were. That’s how I felt.

gm a spongy floor is not good - I hope you get it sorted asap.

Presumably you don’t have a neighbour living under you?

Enjoy your day one and all

Grandmabatty Thu 13-Jul-23 07:15:09

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and sunny but that means nothing! Torrential showers seem to be prevalent this week. Mick I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad night. Hopefully your consultant will help to ease your worries. GrandMattie how annoying having to kowtow to bureaucracy and maybe lose your plumber. Marydoll I'm sorry that you are not well at all. I hope you get some respite from it. Ash enjoy that hair appointment!
Yesterday I had a lovely catch up with a friend over breakfast which lasted for two hours. Then home to tackle the mountain of ironing and pack my suitcase for tomorrow's holiday. The start to the holiday isn't without drama. My Sil's dad was taking us to the airport, however when sil phoned him to check times, he had taken A hire instead. He's a casual taxi driver. This left is very much in the lurch and caused a monumental row between sil and his parents as his mum got involved too. My lovely aunt and uncle have stepped in and are taking us. It's very good of them as it's an early start.
Today I will clean out the fridge, change the bedding so it's fresh for my return and do a few last minute things. Pasta for dinner. Have a good day all
