Mizuna

You're right about the cardiologists Marydoll. When I was in hospital recently waiting for my angiogram one of them came to my bedside, held my hand, and said 'I'm sorry you're having to stay in here but we're afraid that if you go home you'll die.' Ok, then, at least I knew! wink

Mizuna, I had a similar experience.
You know that most RA patients die from heart problems and there is not much we can do for you! said my previous consultant, who turned on his heels and walked away, leaving me to digest that piece of information. 😱

On a lighter note, I bought a lemon tree for myself and a lime tree for DD as an anniversary present. They are rather similar to the twigs we bought, I hope I live long enough to see some fruit! 😉

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a sunny South Yorkshire. You’ll be in good hands Mick. Try and find some distractions today and catch up on your rest if you need to.
I am out with the walking group today and then having lunch with DD and GS. They are preparing to go on holiday abroad on Sunday for two weeks and I’m finding that peculiarly unsettling this year. This afternoon I have the delightful task of cleaning out the the wheelie bin. Oh the joys of living on your own!
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning all from an overcast North Leicestershire.

Today I have an empty and a long list of stuff to do.

Wolfie was lovely yesterday but I never want to play another game of Jenga in my life!

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning Mick and all from a rainy - but brightening - Angus coast. I'm so sorry to hear your news Mick and I'm not surprised you had a difficult night. All problems grow arms and legs in the wee sma' hours. Do you have anyone you can chat to at all? If healing thoughts can help, then I know there are many winging your way flowers
Grandmattie it's in the interest of management that the bathroom floor problem is seen to as an emergency, so I'm sure they'll not drag their feet.
I forgot to say yesterday Ash - welcome back to*Olddudders*. Honeymoon time again! Have a lovely time.
Tai chi for me this morning, but nothing else planned. A bit of fish for tea if I can get to the fish shop before it closes.
I hope everyone has as good a day as possible and that Marydoll feels well enough to return to novella writing x

Good morning from a very cool, damp Cornwall, lovely. Mick, you're in good hands. Yesterday my friend and I couldn't mend my sewing machine but we babbled with excitement at seeing each other after an absence of several months and oh, how we laughed.

gM, is there no-one you can ring to get an immediate solution? I know how frustrating it can be waiting for a response from the powers-that-be.

Coffee with a friend this morning, a brief allotment trip to pick blackcurrants and then home to prepare for my art student tomorrow.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is currently 12°C, with showers predicted.

Mick, I am sorry you had such worrying news. My friend's DH was in a similar situation last year, diagnosed after a routine bowel screening test. He had no symptoms, so had no idea. He was prescribed a chemo tablet, described by the consultant as belt and braces.
You said the consultant said may, so there will probably be a consultation with the him first, before anything happens.
There is no way of sugar coating this type of news.
I find the cardiologists are the most blunt, they say it as it is and my GP totally agrees with me!

GM, I'm so sorry to hear of your problems, I hope you find a resolution quickly, it must be so worrying.

Thank you for all your good wishes yesterday. A call to the surgery for a consultation is on the cards today, I'm not doing too well at the moment.
My quality of life is quite poor and it's blooming hard work, trying to remain positive these days!

On a more positive note, the newly refurbished Burrell Museum won the Museum of the Year Award, my DIL was project manager for the renovations, I'm so proud of her! #proudMIL.

Have a good day folks, whatever your plans and as always, best wishes for all in the sick bay.

Good morning from a sunny, dry NE.
Dodged the showers yesterday when we went shopping and managed a short walk during the afternoon.
Spent a long time trying to get through to the bank to chase up an ISA that I arranged in May, they told me it would take 15 days and I still haven't heard anything.
Chemotherapy for bowel cancer is usually in tablet form and is taken at home. I had to attend an oncology unit, have a blood test and then they would ring me the next day to tell me if I could go ahead and take the drugs. This type of Chemotherapy does not usually result in hair loss but it can cause some side effects. I developed very sore hands and feet and my sense of taste changed from the very first dose.

Thinking of all the poorly people.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It is Milo and Ripley’s 13th birthday. They will have something special for dinner. OH and I are off to London later. Our daughter bought us an Afternoon Tea voucher for Christmas and we’re using it today. We are going to pop into the National Portrait Gallery first as OH hasn’t been for over three years.
I hope you get sorted Mick. I have had good experience at the Churchill. Thinking of Urms and her family too. Have a good day.

Good morning from s somerset, no rain but a cool day

Hang in there Mick

GM all I can think of while you try and get permission is that you get a de-humidifier into your bathroom and that you avoid getting water onto that floor. Back to old fashioned strip washes at the sink, perhaps

A quiet day today and I have to stay in to sign for a tree lopper

Good morning from a cloudy but fine Torbay.

It’s understandable that you’re worried, Mick, A neighbour of mine had his chemo administered in tablet form so he was able to take those at home. I expect you'll learn more about your treatment in the coming days.

We enjoyed a walk over the Downs last night to our favourite hostelry before returning home to the remains of a curry for dinner. Today I’m having my hair cut and coloured, which is long overdue as it’s three months since my last visit!

I hope today is good to everyone, especially those with worries of any kind. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from a cloudy Bristol. It’s dry. Yesterday started very showery but had turned sunny by the late afternoon,
I’m sorry you’re in a bad place ATM, Mick. Radiotherapy isn’t bad at all except for the time it takes. Marydoll, I hope yesterday was better for you.
I had a text from the plumber saying he needed immediate authority from management, otherwise he has to give my slot to someone else. As the bathroom floor is getting spongier daily with the leak from the wall/drain, I can’t bear to wait another 10 weeks for the floor to be replaced. I’m going to need to do some begging for this blooming authority. Worrying me a lot. What if the floor gives way?
Today, I’m going to tai chi, then dinner with DD and family.
May today be gentle to you. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Sorry to hear you've had a bad night.
New day now Mick.. hope you get sorted and the treatment, if necessary, is successful. 🤞

Also that you manage to put your worries aside..

I wish these calls were made in the morning as then you are more likely to get some sleep. I've had worrying calls late in the day and it always feels quite dark then..
(I have also had several worrying - but "not so serious" - letters arrive from my GP on a Saturday and wish they wouldn't do that)
