Good Morning Everyone,

Things seem to be slightly improving health wise , as regards the diarrhea ,and my weight seems to be moving up again.
One reason I am now eating meals in full ,and not not nibbles.
Today stay in TdF Alpine stage around apart of France I am familiar with .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 14°C.
You sound chirpier Mick.

Susan, it is so lovely to see you posting again,

Today, I have nothing planned, I'm very tired after the most delightful afternoon with the Dollies,
Babydoll had her vaccinations yesterday and was very fractious, DIL was so glad when the cavalry arrived to give her a break. My DS works from home and much to her delight, Dollie and DS2 had a light sabre fight. He is rather quirky and has an office full of Stars Wars memorabilia.
I managed a small stroll with the pram, it was great to get out for some fresh air. Thankfully new meds seem to be relieving some of my symptoms, I no longer feel as if I'm suffocating.

I'm toying with the idea of going to the Vigil Mass tonight, but it depends on how I feel. If I go, I won't be carrying out any duties,
A bare part of the garden beside the raised veggie beds has been annoying me for ages, so I bought a wooden trough, which came yesterday. I will transplant my lettuce and rocket into it.
I'm plucking up courage to ask DH to level it for me. Years ago, I would have hashed and bashed and done it myself, unfortunately the downside of being frail
He spent hours during the week, levelling another part of the garden, after another of my bright ideas. 😉 I have also realised I need more compost, I may delay telling him that for another day.

Baubles, I hope your tooth improves. Dental health is so important if you are on Alendronic acid. I have long dental appointment next week to replace old fillings. On top of that, a tooth with a large filling has crumbled. Because of my biologics and Alendronic acid infusions, this is a very serious matter, it may have to come out. I'm dreading the appointment.

It's lovely to hear the holiday tales, have a great day all. Candles will be lit for all the poirlies tonight, DH will do it, if I can't.

Good morning Mick and all. I can see a little bit of blue sky over the Angus coast after a night of wind and torrential rain. Glad things are gradually improving now Mick. And lovely to see you back Susan.
Today I'm off to see Dancing GD dance in Glasgow with DD and DGD3. We'll go for a meal first. The. DGD3 is off in the wee sma' hours with her friends to a Harry Styles concert in Portugal! It's the first time any of the young ones in the family has spread their independent wings so far - heart in mouth for a week I guess. There was a discussion on another thread about when you begin to feel old. Well folks, that time is now!
Nothing else planned for the weekend. I hope we all manage to keep dry (or cool in the case of Grandmabatty!) and those suffering in any way get some relief.
That blue sky has gone now .......

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 15-Jul-23 08:09:10

Good morning from a wet and blustery, with hints of blue sky Oxfordshire, MzOops is out for a run before she heads off to Bristol to pick up her daughter then off to a concert in Cardiff.

She was supposed to take all of her ‘stuff’ home with her from a spare room, instead MIL gave her boxes and boxes of ‘stuff’ so that has filled her car up, but as it’s all for her to sell it’s a priority now that she is on her own and has bills to pay.
Once she has gone I have 3 king size beds to change and bedrooms to clean.
Our trip to Devon is off as the main house we wanted to view was put under offer yesterday, no point going especially as the weather forecast is much the same as we have here today.
Hope all those who are poorly and under stress find some enjoyment today.

I had a conversation with MzOops last night that began ‘MissOops and I think that you and Dad should…………’
oh really!! That’s what you both think is it? Hmmmm . I think that Dad and I will decide what we do and when, although I didn’t say it out loud, they both seem to know what’s best for us!
GM order your cupboards and shelves, we all need storage and I think you know exactly what you need to suit you.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve got some blue sky and the sun is shining. I don’t think it’ll last though as we’ve rain forecast later and the clouds are already gathering
Good to hear all is well Pittcityand you got lots of new baby cuddles 💕
Enjoy your glass blowing Jacs it sounds interesting but I don’t think I’d be any good at it!
Nothing much planned over the weekend but we’ve lots of jobs to catch up on in the house and garden and a bit of shopping to do. DD2 and family are still away on holiday so it’s really quiet here. It’ll be 6 weeks next week since DH had his knee replacement, he’s going to try driving again soon but think we’ll go somewhere quiet first!
Good to see you back Susan56 enjoy your weekend with the DGC
Enjoy your day relaxing by the pool grandmabatty , sounds lovely. How exciting for your DGS to be invited into the cockpit
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from another dull Black Country, where it rained virtually non stop yesterday.

Took Mum to lunch yesterday, and a mooch around the charity shop. Her memory is really not good now, but she is bright enough in herself.

No real plans today, housework probably.

Grandmabatty enjoy your holiday. It is worth catching the bus up to Benalmadena Peublo, a lovely Spanish village where we usually stay when visiting, lots of lovely places to eat. Also the bus up to Mijas. The square at Arroy de la Miel has a few good value restaurants around a fountain. Not been since 2018 so may have changed a bit.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Happy birthday Ginny, have a lovely day. 🎂🎁🎈🎉

Beechnut, I'm loving my new seat, its now got fairy lights round it. I've been sitting in it a lot, on the days I've wanted to be in the garden, but unable to do much.

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 15-Jul-23 08:12:25

Happy Birthday Ginny have a lovely day 💐🎉🎂

Nice to be with sis and littlebro.

Bests for poorlies, and may outings and family meet ups well.

Good morning everyone from a very damp Northampton; more rain and thundery showers forecast for today, so I shall not be going out - which means no hay fever! I had a glorious day yesterday without it!

Met a friend for coffee yesterday morning in Sainsbury's cafe which was lovely; we chatted away for a good hour and a half. Then had a mooch around the shops before heading to the bus stop for home. By which time it was bucketing down! Luckily I have a walk of only 100 yards from the stop to my front door, so didn't get too wet.

Had plans to watch the first night of the Proms last night, but because of weather conditions couldn't get a BBC 2 signal, so had to give up, and spend an evening watching recordings.

A day in today, so shall read the papers, do the puzzle pages, then decide which book to start next. I have finished my book club read, On Chesil Beach. Or I may pick up my knitting.....

Hope those on holiday abroad enjoy the sunshine, and those in the UK don't get too wet!

Grammaretto Sat 15-Jul-23 08:18:57

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It's blowing a hoolie here but sunny after a day of rain.

The Italian meal was really nice. We used to have family events there with DH, in-laws and cousins but I'd not been back now that I m on my own. They remembered us all and asked after the DGC
That after an afternoon of guilt free Wimbledon watching grin
I'll miss the final as we've been invited to a garden party conservatory and it's my last and my cousin's last day. I need to pack for Skye.

I had thought you were having a childfree holiday grandmabatty but you must adore them are a sucker for punishment

So glad your days are improving Mick.
Efficient as usual gMattie . I love the picture of your earrings being sorted.
grin
That new baby is gorgeous Pittcity
Amazing how quickly they are allowed home.

Have a wonderful day whether you are cold or too hot. Those temperatures in Europe are too high for humans.

Good morning from the Essex coast where the heavens have just opened and it's very windy too.
We have to go food shopping later and I will watch the tennis this afternoon.
Happy Birthday to Ginny, have a lovely day.
I hope you all have the best Saturday you can despite the weather xxx

GrannySomerset Sat 15-Jul-23 08:49:09

Bright start to the day but clouds are massing and the forecast deluge looks inevitable. DGD1 has found being out of the house before 8.00 am demanding and will undoubtedly need a lie in so a slow start this morning. We will need to stock up for the coming week and I want to watch the tennis this afternoon but no other plans. Very dull for a young person I fear.

Good to see Mick and Marydoll sounding livelier; nice to hear from Susan, and I am on the side of those telling gMattie that you can’t have too much storage. Our DDs don’t always know best!

Nannagarra Sat 15-Jul-23 08:55:18

Good morning from damp Sefton.
Many congratulations Pittcity, happy birthday ginny and 👋 Susan56. I’m really pleased to read the encouraging news from Mick and Mizuna.
Nothing specific is planned for today. Like Marydoll, I’m preoccupied with an impending procedure. Distraction is my aim.
Urms, Kalu and the grans here who face struggles are in my thoughts.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from Durham. It’s brightened up since I started to read this thread. I’m picking DGS1 up from football this morning and amusing him for the day so his parents can buy some odds and ends for their holiday. I’ve a few ideas to run by him, then we might meet up with DD2 and her little one for ice-cream later.
Birthday wishes to Ginny
Good to hear Marydoll is a little better, bar her dental issue.
Best wishes to all. X

aggie Sat 15-Jul-23 08:58:31

Good morning from a wet Co Armagh , and it’s to get wetter !!
I was going to do some dead heading , lots of plants are looking woebegone, so might just cut them back
I need milk , the one I opened this morning looks a bit iffy , it smells ok , but I’ll not chance it , I don’t fancy lumpy tea !
Thoughts with all our poorly and unhappy

grandMattie Sat 15-Jul-23 08:59:08

Happy birthday ginny
My earrings don’t really need sorting, they are carefully paired in little plastic bags, but little girls love playing with jewellery. She had a lovely time putting them into fish (the most) and non-fish heaps…

luluaugust Sat 15-Jul-23 09:11:58

Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. On cat duty this morning as DD2 has had to go away overnight and is worried the cat will be lonely. She is a beautiful little black cat but I am sure she will have slept the the night away. This afternoon is cooking and hoping to catch a bit of the Ladies Final at Wimbledon.
Yesterday's talk about the Workhouse at U3A was very interesting, apparently because the Workhouse was also used as a hospital people doing their genealogy often think their relatives were in the Workhouse but they actually only died there after some medical emergency.
gM my mum used to keep a box of large buttons that always needed sorting out!
Happy Birthday ginny
Nice to hear of the baby cuddles going on.
Very best to all
