Good Morning Everyone,
A dry but cloudy start here in brackley .
Yesterday I did not take the plunge and go to Bicester , I am now aiming at a more slower way by adding a little bit each day , like local supermarket etc.
I will shop in small doses .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning, a nice day today in s somerset and the washing will be out soon

Yes, small steps Mick, while the body heals and confidence builds. Good progress

I enjoyed my pottering yesterday, no hurry and relaxed but got a fair bit done, including bottoming my bedroom

Today I am off out on the bus, love that bus ride which takes an hour. I downloaded the new bus timetables and was very happy to see that I can now get to two further places, including a larger town and a smaller place with access to a large shopping centre. I am very pleased,it bodes well for the `just in case` if I could not, or do not want to, drive

Have a good day

Good morning Mick and all who follow. It's a cool 7°C here.

I'm glad to hear you are taking a slower pace, Mick, I thought you were being a bit over ambitious, given you haven't really been out and about. Just pace yourself.

I'm up quite early for me, ( taking a great deal of effort) as the funeral is earlier than we usually have here. There have been so many funerals here in the last few weeks, that the PP has had to fit this one in earlier, to ease the burden of a long wait for the family.

I'm going out a wee bit earlier, as I have lots of outstanding jobs about the church, due to my recent incapacity.
It is going to be really busy and I'm a bit anxious about being in a large crowd, considering I am immunosuppressed and worried I may feel unwell and have to go out.
Unfortunately, I woke up in the night with a dizzy spell and hot flushes, I hope my dicky ticker doesn't let me down today of all days, just when I'm beginning to feel a wee bit better.

I was in contact with my dear pal Kalu yesterday. Please keep her, her DH and the girls in your thoughts and prayers. She reads the thread, but doesn't feel up to posting. 😪

Good wishes for all who are struggling, Blossoming, another poster with bereavement to deal with, Susan, the Corner family, Urms and anyone one I may have forgotten. My concentration is zilch these days, so please forgive me if I forget anyone.
Enjoy your holidays, trips and activities.
A wave 👋 to those, who read this thread daily and are struggling with difficult home circumstances. 💐

Have a pleasant day folks. I must get up and wash my hair. I need to put my public face on! 😉

Good morning from Bristol. Baby steps, Mick, you have had major surgery.
I’ve already done three loads of washing last night, one more to go, for hanging out.
I had a quite different day to what I expected yesterday. I needed to go to the supermarket to stock up. It’s nearly a mile each way. Came home with my heavy trolley.
I suddenly thought that, as he was leaving in the afternoon, DS would probably prefer me to go to him than vice versa. He did. So I got the bus, facing another near mile (uphill!) to DD’s house. Goodbyes are an especially nasty form of emotional torture 😢
I got home at nearly midday expecting to see the men installed, finishing the floor - they had the key. I waited for them until 1530, fidgeting and feeling understandably annoyed, they didn’t finish until nearly 6pm. It looks lovely!
Dinner was late. I fancied rice. Could I find it? Unthinkable not to have any as it’s my absolute favourite carb. Eventually found it where DD had “hidden” it when she’d unpacked my stuff. Phew!
I haven’t replaced all my precious and fragile things, books, etc.
I’m expecting an IKEA delivery this afternoon. Someone is coming on Friday to put the wardrobe together. More shuffling of stuff…
I must get up and put my sheets in the wash.
I’m thinking of going into town this morning.
Hugs to everyone. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a cloudy South Downs.

Yesterday I cut down, cleared, fed and watered the delphinium bed. 🤞it gives me another flowering Sep/Oct.

Today I’m meeting a friend for lunch and catch-up, then into M&S for some bits of food and flowers.

Fish day today so Sicilian fish stew for dinner.

Enjoy the day

RosesandLilac Wed 19-Jul-23 06:33:34

Good morning, a dry start here too on the edge of the Cotswolds.
Yesterday I met my sister for coffee, needless to say I didn’t leave the garden centre empty handed 😊
I did a little bit of gardening but very puffed so had to stop, really frustrating. I will do more today.
An early dog walk, DH is going away for a few days so will get the housework done and then enjoy having time to myself with the dog.
We might even have a coffee in the village on our walk this morning I think!
Take care everyone 🌹

Good morning from a bright and sunny Torbay.

Small steps, Mick, will be enough to give you a sense of achievement besides being gentle exercise in the fresh air.

I enjoy rail and bus travel besides driving sometimes, karmalady. It’s a chance to relax and watch the world go by as you go by the world! It’s good to know more places are becoming accessible to you.

This morning we have a slot booked at the council tip. It’s not usually too busy but they’ve continued the requirement to book when visiting which was introduced during the pandemic.

Later we have an end of term party at Wednesday Club where we take and share a contribution of food. I usually take an assortment of crudités to contrast with the cakes and other sweet items. Tonight we have another rehearsal for Dad's Army, which opens in two and a half weeks' time.

Take care not to do too much, Marydoll, on a difficult day for you. Thank you for the update on kalu. What a busy day, grandMattie; safe journey to your DS.

Our thoughts with those suffering the pain of illness or loss on this hump day. 🦩🥰😎💐🦩

Morning all from West Oxfordshire and what is looking like a sunny day already. It is the monthly U3A lunch today. We have missed the last two or three for various reasons so it will be good to see everyone. Afterwards I am having a shingles jab. Apparently I am entitled to one now I am 70. I will ask about a pneumonia jab too. It is WI tonight. The speaker will talk about ‘not having to wear black’. The competition is a favourite pair of shoes. I am taking along a pair of black sparkly shoes with studs and buckles. We are also having a cake stall in aid of Helen House in Oxford. I have defrosted a raspberry and chocolate cake which I made a while ago. Have a good day everyone especially those of you who are suffering.

ginny Wed 19-Jul-23 06:53:18

Good morning. Woke early today , I had a bad night with pain from my hip.

Very pleased with the blinds that were fitted yesterday . The windows look so much nicer now and we have ordered some more for the other two bedroom windows.

Today will be a bits and pieces day other than going to see DGS2s ‘Graduation’ . He goes up to Middle school in September.
This evening I have an online art class and also need to get a couple of cards painted .

Thinking of those with struggles and challenges and wishing a good day for all.

Good morning from South Lanarkshire. It’s cool but the sun is shining, please may it last.

That’s a more manageable plan Mick, take things slowly.

Thinking of you today Marydoll, may you get through it without feeling too bad.

Kalu and her family are in my prayers, Urms and her dear man also.

I’ve an unexpected day off today as a planned meeting has been postponed and I’m not needed for cover. Not sure yet what I’ll do but there’s lots to be done around the house and garden.

Have the best day possible everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 19-Jul-23 07:03:38

Morning all from an overcast S E Essex.

My lovely cleaning fairies are here today, I am off to the gym this morning then quickly rush home for the arrival of our teenage GSs. It’s a longtime since we have had two teenagers in the house for a week, I
have bulging food cupboards and fridges but I expect they will be empty in a couple of days 🤣🤣

Thinking of Urmstongran and Kalu

Don’t overdo things Marydoll and Mick

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

monk08 Wed 19-Jul-23 07:03:54

Jaxjacky Wed 19-Jul-23 07:05:13

Morning from a cloudy S Hants, 16 though, so humid. Washing to do, picking a friend up later and we’ll head out for lunch to a favourite pub.
Yes Mick a little every day, you’ll soon be back in your routine.
Thoughts with those in a very tough place.

Beechnut Wed 19-Jul-23 07:11:37

Good morning from Severnside where it is sunny.

I’m going to go swimming today. I also want to make an autumn wreath so I plan to order the things I need. I’ve never done one using these materials before and it’s something I’ve had my eye on doing for a while.

I think your new plans for out and about are sensible Mick.

Thinking of you all with troubles. I don’t often say but think all the more.

Have the best day you can 🌺🦩

Good morning from our holiday cottage in north Norfolk. Not sure what the weather is doing as I can only see the sky from my reclining position on the bed; it looks a bit grey and dismal.

Yesterday’s visit to Sandringham was very enjoyable. We got there early and were encouraged by the ticket office staff to hustle into the house ahead of a large coach load who were milling around at the entrance. DH and I slipped past them and enjoyed our tour. Some beautiful things to gaze at and, together with an audio tour and knowledgeable guides, we really enjoyed our time gawping at the treasures on display. There was also an exhibition of some of the King’s watercolour paintings; it was interesting to see how his style has developed through the years. We also visited the church with its entrance much photographed at Christmas when the late Queen came out from the service.

We then went on to Hunstanton for an ice cream sitting on a bench overlooking the sea. I managed to consume the ice cream without it melting all over me. A very good day all round.

Today we are off to explore King’s Lynn with a visit to the Sea Henge which was discovered fairly recently.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Susan56 Wed 19-Jul-23 07:14:50

Good morning from Shropshire.

I felt too unwell to get out of bed yesterday with this awful bug so if I get downstairs and get a few things done that will be a win!

My day was cheered with photos from H’s end of nursery service and DGD’s end of year dance school presentation. She received the certificates for the two dance exams she took and also won the freestyle trophy which was a lovely surprise.Today is B’s ‘graduation’ so we will hopefully have more photos later.

I will be thinking of you today Marydoll.Don’t do too much as the emotion of the day will be exhausting in itself💐

Thoughts with Kalu and Urms and their families.I hope that Mr corner’s operation goes ahead as scheduled next week with no further delays🙏🏻

Have the best day you can everyone🦩🌺

BlueSapphire Wed 19-Jul-23 07:17:32

Good morning everyone from a dull and overcast Northampton. Shall I put the washing on or not? - it is all ready in the machine.

Chanced the health walk after lunch yesterday, and it didn't rain; unfortunately we.couldn't use our usual cafe afterwards as it was being re-decorated and under new management. On the way home I popped into the paper shop, paid my bill, and cancelled the papers during my holiday.

All my plans changed for today - DD phoned yesterday to say that our ladies wine club had resurrected and is rising from the ashes of what I thought was our last meeting in April. Although three resigned at that meeting due to ill health, a few members had decided to carry on, so hooray! My DSon-in-law will pick me up on his way home from work, and DD and I will go together from her house, then back to hers afterwards to spend the night.
I will have my main meal at lunchtime, as the hostess tonight will provide a light supper to go with the wine.

Can have my mug of tea now thank goodness, been waiting half an hour after taking my weekly alendronic tablet.
Hope all have a pleasant day.

BlueSapphire Wed 19-Jul-23 07:20:43

Forgot - had the good news yesterday that elder DGD(15) had done extremely well in her end of year exams, and also that her sister DGD13, had passed.her Grade 2 tenor horn exam. Proud grandma!

Pittcity Wed 19-Jul-23 07:26:18

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. Warm but cloudy again today. No rain until later so I'll get some washing on the line before I take the short walk to our regular Wednesday morning coffee meetup in the city centre. DH has a lift to the gym. He is lost without his car. I have never driven and so can get along fine.
A walk to Aldi for a few bits this afternoon.
Love to all 🦩 x

Gala Wed 19-Jul-23 07:32:26

Good morning from a dull & cool Sefton. It is damp underfoot but no more rain is forecast for today. Do I or don't I put the washing on? It's all ready in the machine.
Zoom exercise class first thing then off to a nearby town for Pilates. No plans for the rest of the day but I'm sure I will find plenty to do possibly involving a duster.
Thoughts with those struggling with life & what it throws at us.

brook2704 Wed 19-Jul-23 07:40:44

Good morning everyone from Inverness where at last we’ve got some blue sky with just a bit of grey
Hope today goes ok marydoll, take it easy if you can
I’m off to the gym this morning for a couple of classes, followed by a bit of shopping and then hopefully a potter in the garden.
A very well done to both your DGDs BlueSapphire and well done to your dancing DGD too Susan56 👏
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, especially Kalu and Urms, take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Jazzhands Wed 19-Jul-23 07:44:51

Good morning. Cloudy and cool so far. Today little 16 month old grandaughter coming with DS and his fiance. I'm excited to give her hugs and just play with her. Her wicker picnic basket of toys are read and I've a little stack of books for quiet time. She can say some words now: 'Bubbles' and 'Woof, woof'.

kittylester Wed 19-Jul-23 07:51:45

Good morning all from a damp North Leicestershire.

Ironing on the cards here today but then, maybe, a pub lunch.

I was shocked to see the sorry state my friend was in yesterday. She has no strength in her leg muscles, cannot move anywhere independently. She has had deliveries of all sorts of equipment - a hospital bed, commode, walker but the best that can be offered in terms of treatment is phone call at the end of September. She is looking into getting a private physio to come to the house.

Sending love, as always, to Urms and Kalu and wishing everyone else the best day possible.

Gingster Wed 19-Jul-23 08:01:04

Good morning all and it’s grey here in Essex.
Dh hopes to go fishing so I hope it doesn’t rain.

Today I’m going by train to see my old friend (younger than me) . We met working in London in 1968, had our children at the same time and see each other once a year. She will meet me at the station and we’ll have a wander around my childhood town to have a trip down memory lane. It was a country town with a livestock market but now a busy bustling multi cultural area and changing all the time.

I hope the day goes well for you Marydoll 🙏.
GM sad to see your DS leave but lovely to have had him for a while. Keep busy !
Bluesapphire congrats to your Dgd’s . Well done indeed.
Get well soon Susan
Beachnut I have an autumn wreath in the loft but would love to make my own. Do show us yours when it’s done 🍁🍂.
GG hope the week with your boys goes well. As long as they’re fed well and have their phones, tablets, X boxes , a football , they’ll be fine 😅.
Enjoy your empty Roseandlilac 😉.

Thoughts with poorly grans, and DH’s and families. 🕯️

Greyduster Wed 19-Jul-23 08:04:59

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very wet South Yorkshire. St Swithun has a lot to answer for!! Glad you’re taking it steady, Mick. I can attest to the fact that it’s very easy to set yourself back after surgery by being overconfident. I finally got my hair cut yesterday. What a joy that was. Surprising how much better a good haircut can make you feel. DD and GS rang from their holiday venue for a chat. I had asked GS to send me a couple of photos. He sent forty nine!!
Writers group at the library this afternoon which is supposed to be a serious activity but never is, and a bit of shopping while I’m there.
Have the best day you can folks.
