Good Morning Everyone,
A dry but cloudy start here in brackley .
Yesterday I did not take the plunge and go to Bicester , I am now aiming at a more slower way by adding a little bit each day , like local supermarket etc.
I will shop in small doses .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all, from a cloudy Oxfordshire, not much happening here today, dog sitting so a walk later on avoiding the tractors that are charging up and down the lanes, driving very fast and taking up all of the road, I have to be alert and maybe jump into the ditch, it won’t be the first time!
So many poorly grans again, I hope you all start to feel a little better each day.

Good morning from a cloudy Essex coast.
A quiet day yesterday. Today I am helping DH on the boat. It's lovely and peaceful out on the pontoon. Lots of birds, swans and ducks.
Thinking of all the grans with illness and sadness to contend with. Wishing you all a peaceful day xx

Good morning from another sunny Suffolk day.

I’m impressed by the number who start the day with a visit to the gym. Mine usually starts with a dog walk or rather a stroll for DH and I whilst little dog chases around. Since being so ill 18 months ago DH walks quite slowly so no longer the brisk walks of earlier times but so grateful he can manage to keep going for 30-40 minutes.

My Teams meeting which will last for 3+ hours starts in just over an hour so better get a move on with the porridge.

Thinking as always with those burdened with ill health.

Good morning from a grey corner of N Bucks.
Eldest GS and I are off to London to the Animals exhibition at the British Library. Yesterday we took Rosie for a longish (by my standards) walk in Salcey Forest and I was conscious that I don’t walk enough as my Plantar Fasciitis was extremely painful for the rest of the evening. He’s a very easy boy to have and I’ve just realised sadly that it is 13 years since we first looked after him overnight - aged about 8 weeks, that was truly terrifying- but I won’t be here 13 years hence. Tempus fugit and all that.
Wishing you all a peaceful day whatever you are at and special thoughts for Kalu, Urmstongran, Corner and all in pain or distress.

Morning from a rainy S Yorks.

Not sure what today holds, its the first for a long time with no must do's.

Bests for poorlies especially with demanding days and may outings go well.

Good morning from a cooler NE. Was woken just after 2am by very loud thunder , put ear plugs in and went back to sleep. Apparently there is more forecast for today and tomorrow.
The heating came on when I went to make a cup of tea.
SIL coming to take me shopping and has promised to assemble the new bar stools.
DD arrives in the UK this evening, she will be able to attend the family lunch on Saturday to celebrate DIL's birthday.
Funeral of sister's friend who died suddenly in Canada whilst on holiday, took a monthh to arrange because body had to be flown to UK for PM. BIL unable to attend because of leg still in splint, they will live stream the service.
Very wise not to overstretch yourself Mick
Thoughts are with poorly people.

Good morning all from Benalmadena where it's currently 27° and sunny. It feels very humid today and there's no breeze. Today has to be the hottest day so I will retreat indoors later. At the moment I'm on my usual sunbed enjoying the sunshine. I've had breakfast, two crusty rolls with cheese and I tried a churro with chocolate sauce but wasn't impressed. The coffee here is lovely.
Last night was marginally cooler so we went to the marina and people watched. Tonight we'll stay local to avoid walking in the heat. Much as I love the sun and warmth, I couldn't live in such temperatures. I suppose you acclimatise but I'm a northern gal and thrive in coolness. Have a good day all

Good morning Mick and everyone from greyish Carlisle where it will probably shower sooner or later.

That's probably a better plan Mick, I echo what others before me have said. Good luck.

I have to go out very shortly, I have a hair appointment. I was concerned when I couldn't phone my hairdresser last week..apparently her number no longer existed so I wondered if she'd given up. However, I popped into her place on Friday and found there'd simply been a problem with the line. Relief! I didn't want to have to find another hairdresser, I was lucky to light on her first time when I moved here, she does my hair just as I like it.

Good luck with the day Marydoll, your determination to get on with life is an inspiration to us wimpier people.

Have the best possible day, all.

Good morning from a grey W Kent. Yesterday's trip out for lunch with GS3 was very successful and he chatted away happily over a bucket of mussels. Today I am visiting my house moving friend for a cup of something, she is getting very tired now with all the running around. Yesterday's saga of the skip visitors continued when somebody turned up with a tape measure to check on a brown box in the skip. The skip owners who had filled it up now have a half empty one.
Mick I am sure you are doing the right thing for a good recovery.
Marydoll take care and thinking of Kalu, Urms and everyone trying to deal with illness and problems.
Best wishes for today

Good morning Mick and all from what is becoming a very autumnal Angus coast! I keep telling myself this is normal here for July until late August (when the schools go back of course) and that summer will reappear after that until the end of September. I hope I'm right 😉
Make haste slowly Mick - you're doing so well. That goes for you too Marydoll! The sadness of the day will be quite enough to contend with.
Tai chi was enjoyed yesterday by all - including me. I have decided that 'nursing my knee along' is having no effect, so it's just going to have to get on and improve with exercise - and that's it told! It's certainly feeling better at the moment.
I cheered myself up with a visit to the fish shop yesterday. We have two in our little town, served by the fishing villages up the coast. One is a basic fish shop selling the various fishy things caught locally. The other does that too of course, but also branches into more delicatessen-y things so I treated myself to The Skipper's Salad - a very generous prawn salad with a more than generous addition of smoked salmon and smoked trout with a large 'little' tub of homemade Marie Rose sauce to accompany it. At £5.65 I wondered if it was a bit pricey, but it was so worth it! So that was my main meal yesterday, accompanied by local strawberries. No wonder my knee feels better today!
Today nothing much planned - just catching up with a few days' housework, changing the bed and hanging the washing out with fingers crossed that the intermittent sporadic showers shower somewhere else.
Wishing everyone the best of days possible, and always holding those in need of comfort and support closely in my thoughts xflowersx

After a brilliant start the clouds are gathering so the washing will have to be dried indoors. Must speak to DGD1 about not necessarily putting every garment in the laundry basket after one wearing - am sure she doesn’t do this at university! Having her here is a joy, though, and I am going to watch the Year 6 production which has kept her more than busy this past fortnight. She has so enjoyed her time in this lovely school and has been really useful.

Am enjoying Lulu’s Tales from the Skip, and hoping Mick and Marydoll have satisfactory days even though not quite what they were used to. Hope Susan soon feels better, and that this unsatisfactory weather doesn’t spoil anyone’s plans. Has to be better than 40 degrees plus, though.

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.

Yesterday was non-stop drizzle. No real plans for today other than a trip to the post office. Mr B has done the supermarket shop and the bakery.

A difficult day for you Marydoll. Please take care of yourself. I do often wonder how Kalu is, she was very kind to me when I first came to Gransnet.

Sorry that bug is clinging on Susan hope you feel better soon.

Thinking of Kalu, Urms, *Baggs and all who are dealing with illness right now.

Have a good day all 🌻

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
DD here from the south and today we have a meeting with DS too, with our financial advisor to see if I have any money left. After my latest holiday I’m not sure…

I worry about my DD driving up and down the motorway regularly as she does from Berkshire, combining it with Flight manager, long haul and her side job, health assistant, but she takes it all in her stride.

Good idea to stay local for the moment Mick and thoughts to Urms Kalu and all with troubles.
Have you thought about an online grocery shop grandMattie?
Pic of Biarritz the other day.

Juliee Wed 19-Jul-23 11:27:51

Good morning all from a stinking hot Siberia. Although it is evening here, it is still very hot. I went to the gym, met a frieñd in town for tea, went to my school to disinfect the floor. Now I am drinking blackcurrant leaf tea and watching a comedy on tv. It really is too hot to do much.

Have a great day!
Mick, take it easy!!

Auntieflo Wed 19-Jul-23 11:29:31

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. Nice to hear that you are venturing out a little Mick, but take it easy.
The weather here doesn't know what to do, grey, then sunny.
Our garden waste brown sacks were due to be collected this morning, but DH saw two of them walk past, look at it, and walk on by? I have reported a missed collection, but got a message to say that it should be reported after 4 pm. Oh well.
My lovely cleaner has been and worked her magic. She is going to move house shortly, but has said she will still come 🤞
Also just had an email to say that a friend has had a heart attack.
Some trousers I ordered on line, hadn't arrived. When I phoned, was told they are out of stock.
Why didn't they email to say so?
Marydoll with such a busy day ahead, please try and take it slowly. Thinking also of Kalu, the Urms and all who are struggling
Have a good day one and all.
