Otherwise I seem to be slowly improving on the health front .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and all. It's currently 25° in Benalmadena and the sunrise isn't far away. I'm waiting for our coach to take us to the airport. That's our holiday over leaving us with good memories. See you all tomorrow

Good morning from Bristol. Not sure what the weather hold today.
After going to the next village and find that the haberdasher didn’t sell any fabrics. She recommended two excellent places - nearly 2 hours by bus each way! No thanks.
I telephoned my friends, owners of the lovely haberdashery in Sandwich and established that Tony was happy to help me choose the fabric and post it to me. There follow a hilarious video conversation, “this one? No, third on the left - nah, what about that one?” Etc.. I chose what I wanted and am now eagerly anticipating the receipt of my parcel.
After my tai chi class, and my post-prandial nap. I sorted out the half-made tunic and decided to finish it outside. It’s nice to sit out - also, not having a communal room, it’s a way of socialising with other “inmates”. Three came to join me, but the cold breeze drove us back home. I had become very cold and wore a thick winter cardigan until I thawed out a bit.
Today, I’ve got a chap coming to put my IKEA wardrobe together. For once, DD agreed with me - she seems to disagree with most of my selections/choice ATM. I don’t know why.
Many hug and prayers to our dear Urm, kalu, gingster, Marydoll and all those I have missed. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning Mick, good to hear that you’re getting better.
I’ve been awake since 3, very painful neck and shoulders so keep reheating the wheat pad 🙄
The dog has joined me on the bed, she’s snoring away.
Yesterday I did a couple of hours tidying in the garden and greenhouse, pulled out blighted tomorrow plants and bitter cucumber plants and discovered that my courgettes that were beginning to fruit had been reduced to skeletal wrecks by something!
I completely give up on growing vegetables apart from the runner beans that are currently doing well 🤷🏼‍♀️
Today I’m not sure what I am doing, it depends if my neck settles down 🫤
I hope you have a good day 🌹

Good morning all from the Black country haven't looked out yet so don't know what the weather is doing, yesterday turned out nice not sunny but nice and dry no rain.
Today early start plumber coming at 8 hopefully he will sort the shower out.
Safe travels Grandmabatty and anybody else on the move.
Roseand Lilac hope your neck settles down.
Will come back later to see everybody's happenings, enjoy your day whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning everyone for the last time in north Norfolk as we get ready to return home after our holiday.

Another great day yesterday on our visit to Blickling Hall. The house is very interesting with some lovely items, but the highlight of our visit was the tour of the gardens with a National Trust volunteer who told us about the history of the house and gardens and showed us so many things we would have missed. We discovered that it is best to give Cedar of Lebanon trees a wide berth as they, as a protective measure, spontaneously drop their branches if they become stressed through drought or heat; not a good idea to stand underneath it’s huge branches!

We are hoping to get a reasonably early start to beat the traffic, particularly on the Dartford Crossing, and hope to be in good time to collect our elderly cat from the cattery; despite being treated like the Queen of Sheba she will probably subject us to the customary silent treatment for a few days as punishment for leaving her!

Hope you all have a good day
.

Good morning from s somerset, a mixed weather day today

I spent time standing and staring at my garden yesterday, I made my garden to support the bees and they were out in force, lots of baby bumblebees and butterflies. So lovely to see and satisfying.

A bit of pottering today, also a car trip this morning and I had a touch/feel of a dress that I had cut out. Perfect for autumn with leggings. I think I will start sewing that, if we get poor weather, when I do need a project

Have a lovely day

Ashcombe Fri 21-Jul-23 06:41:41

Good morning from a bright Torbay.

I’m glad you feel like doing more and hope you enjoy your (short) walk, Mick.
Safe travels to Grandmabatty and Jacs7.

Would Ibuprofen gel help your sore places, RosesandLilac? I find it useful when my arthritis is troublesome and applied topically there’s no risk of gastric problems.

Bees (and butterflies) are such a joy to see, karmalady!

We’re hoping to travel by train to Crewe for a long weekend if the trains are behaving. DGD is in her Theatre Academy Dance Show on Saturday so we shall enjoy attending that.

Get well thoughts to those who are unwell. Happy weekend! 🦩🥰😎💐🦩

Morning, dry and bright in S Hants.
Safe and stress free journeys home Grandmabatty and Jacs7
Such a shame about your veg Roses I’d be gutted.
I’m about to take MrJ to the airport, he’s off home to see his family in Belfast and play golf with them, an annual event.
I’ll be back later to catch up.

baubles Fri 21-Jul-23 07:07:28

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s cool and bright.

Safe trip home Grandmabatty, I’m glad you enjoyed your holiday. Ash safe journey to you and to Jacs7.

We’re off to Edinburgh this morning, the children and their Mum have been away for two weeks visiting the other grandma and enjoying the sun in the south coast. I’ve missed them.

When we get home I’ll get out the suitcases and make a start on packing as we’re off tomorrow. I’ll need clothes for every eventuality given the dire weather forecast.

Thinking of our absent friends as ever.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from a bright Oxfordshire, no rain yesterday although it was very cloudy with really black clouds at times, so I’ll pop out and water some pots in a minute.
We might take a trip out for lunch, apart from that an empty!
Safe travels to all those in the move.
Hugs to those who aren’t so chipper today.
And thoughts are with those who are unwell or caring for others.

Mizuna Fri 21-Jul-23 07:08:05

Good morning from my patio swing seat in a bright, breezy Cornwall. More work in my secret seating area (pic attached) today plus exploring further the woods beyond to see what's growing there among the trees.

Then at lunchtime I'm joining in the open town council meeting to discuss the obstructing of our pavements with advertising boards, tables and chairs, and how that impacts disabled people. It's a lovely vibrant town centre to live in but I need to check who is monitoring the safety aspect.

Foxygloves Fri 21-Jul-23 07:14:18

Good morning Mick and all from N Bucks where it is sunny and a very pleasant temperature.
Delivering GS back to the fold today - I do hope he has not been bored with Granny. We went to Mission Impossible (I would add Improbable, Unlikely and Incredible) yesterday - which was action packed and fun but with none of that sex stuff you get in James Bond films which might embarrass Granny or Grandson!
I am meeting D at the Hotel Chocolat cafe (and Seconds shop) near Junction 16 for the “handover”
He’s a lovely boy, a very easy guest but will want to be back with his siblings and friends no doubt before he sets off on what sounds like an exciting school trip on Monday - cycling around Bavaria!
I have no other plans for today, strip beds and no doubt washing if it stays fine. It will be very quiet.
Glad you sound a bit stronger Mick onwards and upwards! And kind thoughts to all with worries or in pain.

kittylester Fri 21-Jul-23 07:21:09

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

I feel like a piece of chewed string as I didn't get to sleep until about 3am but I have a few errands to run this morning - the chemist, the egg farm, the butcher's and Sainsbury's. Also more kitchen clearing needs doing.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Gingster Fri 21-Jul-23 07:21:42

Good morning all and it’s a bright start. We did have quite a lot of rain last evening which is a blessing here in Essex.

Today I have book club and then we’ll meet up with our Friday pals for drinks in our usual country pub. We’re always the only people there. The landlady is 86 and we’ve known her 40 years but she doesn’t have a chef anymore and no food available.
She only opens up for us.

Safe journey home Jacs. Glad you’ve had a lovely time in Norfolk.
Hope the trains behave Ash.
It’s a shame you don’t have a communal room GM. That would be nice in the winter,
Roseandlilac I hope your neck improves.🤞.

Enjoy the day, 🌸

Gingster Fri 21-Jul-23 07:26:31

Thanks for the pic Mizuna. It looks idyllic.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 21-Jul-23 07:30:35

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It is lovely to have our daughter staying for a few days. OH is off target shooting today. Daughter and I will head off for an NT property about an hour away. On the way we will have lunch at a garden centre which has a reputation for good food. Have a good day everyone.

Susan56 Fri 21-Jul-23 07:31:41

Good morning from Shropshire.

Good to hear you sounding brighter today Mick.

After a very relaxing morning everything changed when we picked the children up at 3pm🤯As it was the last day of term lots of us took the children to the village park.Very emotional year 6 leavers and the rest of the children very over excited.H fell asleep on the way home which made bedtime a trial🤦🏼‍♀️DH then thought he was coming down with the stomach bug I have had.I ended up sleeping with H all night who probably didn’t stay in the same position for more than a couple of minutes all night😴Luckily DH was suffering from nothing more than overeating and is feeling better if delicate this morning.

Today a party at soft play followed by the library then back to DD’s to wait for her or SIL to get home.

Safe travels Grandmabatty and all on the move.

Thinking of all unwell or with worries and caring responsibilities for loved ones.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩🌺

brook2704 Fri 21-Jul-23 07:33:57

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s another grey and cloudy start to the day
Today I’m doing the Aqua zumba class at the gym which is always good fun and then coffee with my friend for most of the afternoon. DHs very phased return to work is going well, yesterday’s activities were mainly sitting chatting with a coffee and and enjoying a bacon roll. He’s still not back to driving yet though so that’s a bit of a problem but hopefully soon.
Safe travels grandmabatty, Jacs, Ash and everyone else on the move today
That school trip sounds exciting foxy!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Pittcity Fri 21-Jul-23 07:45:17

Good morning from sunny Colchester. We had a thunderstorm at bedtime and so the night was much fresher than of late. Not getting above 18° today.
DH has a dentist appointment and then will walk to pick up the car. We'll need to shop for weekend food as we're expecting DS home and have 2 DGS from Sunday morning.
Love to all 🦩 x

BlueSapphire Fri 21-Jul-23 07:45:19

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, although sunny spells and, later, showers are expected.

A busy day yesterday, returning from DD's, a visit to the hairdressers, then ballet after lunch and a Sainsbury's delivery. I also removed the weeds from the drive.

A visit to our nearby retail park later this morning where I am meeting a friend for coffee and lunch, then being taken to see their new apartment, which they moved into recently. Knowing her it will be perfect, with everything colour matched and co-ordinated, and will look like a show-home!

Before that I need to collect my Icelandic currency and also buy a few Euros and do a bit of shopping.

Foxygloves you will be very close to me today as you hand over your DGS! That Hotel Chocolat is a few minutes drive from where I live.

Hope Friday is kind to all.

Marydoll Fri 21-Jul-23 07:47:53

Good morning Glasgow, where it is 11°C and partly sunny. Glad to hear you are feeling a wee bit better. Mick, I hope you managed to speak to a medical professional yesterday. You seem to have been left without much post op support.
A friend in a similar situation, told me that diarrhoea can last for ages after this type of bowel op.

GM, that's good news you got your fabric supply chain sorted!

GM Batty, safe journey home. I believe there is chaos at Edinburgh with lost baggage, fingers crossed it will be trouble free.

Yet another busy day yesterday, with the doctor's and then the pharmacy. DH kindly drove me, because I was seriously flagging after the busy previous day. Of course the afternoon was spent dozing, as usual! My friend came over with the leftovers from the wake. We had strawberry tarts and caramel cake for supper. An indulgence indeed!
The pharmacy was very crowded, so I sat in a corner, away from all those sick people. 😁 I'm even more vulnerable than ever!

I thought I heard hy name being said, but saw no-one I recognised. Then I saw a lady looking at me, and nodding. I couldn't figure out who it was. It dawned on me that it was the (totally changed) head cleaner from my old school. Rab Nesbitt's wife was a pussycat, compared to her. The boss used to hide from her, so I was often the recipient of her tirades.
Much to DH's amusement, she proceeded to rant about how much the school had changed since my day.
I was a captive audience, stuck in the corner, with no escape.

Thankfully, the pharmacist then came out to chat about my meds. She kept smiling at me; 'What a lovely lady, I thought.'
You don't recognise me, do you? I hadn't a clue who she was. 😏
I'm X, I went to school with your son and I lived in the next cul de sac to you, I still do.
I was shocked, for she was an ex pupil and I had been talking to her gran, the head church cleaner, at yesterday's funeral, asking her if she could speak to the cleaners for me.

The point of all these ramblings is that there must be something wrong with my brain, when I no longer recognise people, I've known half my life! I used to be as sharp as a tack! 😉

Today, I have the much dreaded dental appointment, with more appointments to follow. My meds are playing havoc with my teeth. I don't know how I am going to be able to lie in the chair, without having a dizzy spell. My BP drops dramatically, when I lie down, then shoots up. Another enigma for the clinicians. Nothing is ever simple!

Later Babydoll is coming to visit in the afternoon, that will be the best medicine ever! 💕
She was at a gaming fair a few weeks ago andsaw the Indianna Jones film at the cinema during the week. She is very advanced for her age! 😂 DD are just carrying on with their pre baby life. They are so laid back, they are almost comatose!

Enjoy your day folks and my very best wishes for all the poorlies.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 21-Jul-23 07:55:23

That baby looks scrumptious, MD!

NannyJan53 Fri 21-Jul-23 08:02:28

Good morning from a cloudy Black Country, where the sky is slowly brightening.

Great walk yesterday around the canal and fields of our local area. Today is a walk with my u3a walking group.

This afternoon collect my glasses. I had an eye test with Boots, who quoted £280 (this was with over 60's discount). At this Opticians they are £105 cheaper!

Wishing you all the best day possible, with special thoughts of Urms, Kalu and corner and anyone struggling with their health or the health of their loved ones.

Liberty Fri 21-Jul-23 08:03:27

Good morning from another sunny day in Suffolk and in spite of grey skies occasionally yesterday,no rain.

Traffic on the roads around here even heavier than previous years for Latitude because of train strikes. Hopefully all planning to come for the weekend made it.

Meeting a friend for lunch at a converted mill restaurant near Norwich which has apparently just got a Michelin star. We’ve been meeting there for several years and the food and ambience has always been very good. Hope it hasn’t changed by publicity!

Hoping everyone can find some moments of pleasure today especially those burdened with sadness.
