Good morning all from cool and cloudy South Lanarkshire.

Sound like a lovely day out Mizuna, have fun.

Tourists are back in force in Edinburgh, so many that we couldn’t get a table at the Palace Cafe so crossed the road to the Parliament and enjoyed our coffees in their cafe. DGD commented that it was just like the airport as we went through security, putting our belongings into trays.

Today we’re heading north to Loch Melfort to spend the week with DD and her family. We have separate cottages but the children will come and go between the two I’m sure. I’m packing for all weathers.

Good luck to your dancing GD Ash, enjoy her show.

Hoping Marydoll has a better day, sending love to Kalu, Urms and also to Baggs, who’s an occasional visitor to the good morning thread.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning all from a dismal North Leicestershire. We have lots of rain in the forecast.

Up early as the decorator is coming at 9 am to quote for doing the kitchen after it is finished.

DD3 and co are going to Norfolk, on holiday, today and the weather looks appalling. I hope they take lots of games.

My friend seems to be getting a little better and is getting about with her walker but has asked me to go and arrange some flowers for her.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from a bright S Hampshire, as WWM2 says rain later.
Enjoy the TDF Mick and you this evening Ashcombe.
I too have some produce from the garden, but need more sun to ripen the many tomatoes in the greenhouse.
I’ll get my paper soon, water said greenhouse and get out for a walk before the rain.
Thoughts with those having a very different day.

I always enjoy reading this thread but rarely contribute. I enjoy the snippets of other peoples lives and the huge variety of activities they are involved with. My partner and I spend much of our time living in different countries and I work hard at just getting on with daily life here.
Today it is damp and drizzled in West Yorkshire. I shall go for my morning stomp for an hour before breakfast. I’m off to meet a friend about an hours drive away and she has booked us into a lovely country house restaurant for lunch. My friend is at least 20 years younger than I am and she is a delight to be with. She is also very glamorous and takes her image very seriously. I’m not so glamorous and struggled to come up something suitable to wear for the occasion. I’m lucky to live in a small town which has a number of vintage clothes shops and great charity shops and to my delight I found a wonderful retro pair of jeans, fab colourful shirt and a super pair of Alexander McQueen chunky trainers. I was super excited when I Googled the trainers later to discover that they retail for £450 and I snapped them up for £45. Probably my best bargain ever. So brimming with some glamorous confidence I shall have a lovely day despite the weather.

Good morning from a cloudy South Downs. Rain forecast later.

mizuma we always contributed to our allotment show when we had one, and won some prizes🙂. It was jolly good fun. Now we content ourselves with the produce from the kitchen garden, which DH is largely in charge of which whilst not so productive is really quite worthwhile, - yesterday we had carrots, cabbage and garlic.

Had a neighbour around for tea yesterday and she told me that she has foxes living in her garden. So now I know where my evening feeder comes from🙂. I sent her off with the remains of the tea I had made, as neither DH or I must eat cake etc. at the moment.

I’ve been eyeing the blackberries that are forming, if they all ripen there is going to be a massive crop this year! I tend to pick in stages and just bung them as they are into the freezer. Lasts nearly all winter. I used to pick enough to make pots and pots of bramble jelly which I love, but not so much now, just enough for crumbles, summer pudding etc.

Veggie day today - so courgette and spinach (both from the garden) lasagne.

Enjoy your day everyone and keep dry!

Good morning, a damp start here on the edge of the Cotswolds too.
A quiet weekend for me apart from dog walks, I’m happy with that as I’d like to do some painting.
Have a lovely weekend 🌹

Good morning from s somerset and there will be rain, all day

I will get myself out on a 30 minute hill march at some stage, then relaxing pottering for the rest of the day. I must push myself to do that tax return too

Have a good day

Good morning from a damp looking Crewe.

The show sounds like a lovely traditional event, Mizuna which sounds appealing to many.

Our journey went well with a change at Birmingham giving us a welcome chance to stretch our legs. Whilst there, we observed a homeless man begging. A young woman travelling alone left her luggage to pay for a snack for him whilst another young man gave him money. An example to the older generation.

A taxi ride to our Travelodge hotel was entertaining for DH as the driver was also interested in trains and had been since the days of steam.

We shan’t see DD2 and family until tonight as my ex and his wife are staying with them. However my SIL’s parents are kindly driving us to the dance show venue in Hanley this evening.

I hope those absent friends know they are being thought about along with others going through difficult times.

Good morning from Cornwall where rain is forecast today. It's our allotment indoor Summer Show today, a very traditional event and for all of us the lovely highlight of our year. So many more young allotment holders have joined this year, which makes it even more fun. I've entered a knitted fruit bat in the craft section but couldn't manage to grow enough veg to submit because of my crutches. Loads of home made cakes and coffee and meeting up with friends help make it a super day, topped off by an auction where all the produce is sold. My youngest son loves it too and will join me later.
