Good morning Mick and all who follow. Polmont has blue skies this morning but it is much cooler at 8°.
Yesterday I did the ironing, some weeding and that was about all. For some reason, I felt very tired so I didn't do as much as I had planned.
Today is the return to childcare days. Soft play is booked for the morning. I'm thinking of you Susan! I hate it but it helps the boys work of some energy. Later we will walk to the swings and play in the garden. Tonight I'll visit mum. Have a good day all

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 24-Jul-23 06:16:30

Good morning Mick, wet and warmish this morning, looks as though it will be wet for a while.
Hope your appointment goes well, make a list of questions so that you get the answers you need.
Wet dog walks today and housework and that’s it.
Have as good a day as you can, thoughts are with Urms and Kalu and everyone looking after unwell family.

karmalady Mon 24-Jul-23 06:16:46

Good morning, rain starting at around 8 and will be set for the day

Berry picking in 30 minutes, with yellow overglasses on as I can better see berries that are just starting to be blue, they ripen well in a dish by next day

I am quietly pottering today and some packages will be starting to arrive, including a few second hand crafting books that I wanted. Nothing much else but last night I was hooked on watching episodes of Berkeley square while spinning fine yarn

Have a good day

RosesandLilac Mon 24-Jul-23 06:18:45

Good morning, a damp start here too.
Off to the dentist later, routine check up and see the hygienist too.
A quiet week ahead, suits me!
Have a good day 🌹

Good morning from an overcast Crewe.

After we’d enjoyed a breakfast date with the family, DH and I took a train to Llandudno Junction and enjoyed refreshments at the rather quirky Old Station Hotel. Lots of railway memorabilia so DH was delighted!

Today we shall travel home with a plan to travel to Stafford from where the through train to Torquay is running.

Good luck to others with journeys to make and admiration for those who step up to give childcare help. I wouldn’t manage that now I don’t think.

Thoughts with our absent friends and others with burdens to carry. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Whitewavemark2 Mon 24-Jul-23 06:35:49

Good morning from an overcast - forecast to be a wet South Downs.

rosesandlilac That reminds me to re-schedule my hygienist appointment as I’ve had notice to attend a pre-op on that day, and that takes precedent!

As it is forecast to be wet I’ll do some housework.

Meat day today - so Cooking a piece of gammon with pineapple salsa, possibly chips and not sure of veg yet. Beginning to wonder if I ought to cut out meat further really as looking at Rhodes and other places, I have just read that a vegan diet has only 30% of the impact on the climate that a meat and dairy eating diet has. 😧

On that happy note🙂

Enjoy your day

Good morning from Bristol. The sky is grey with a threat of rain.
I was mortified to be late for church yesterday. For some reason, I thought I had to leave at 10, rather than arrive for 10… duh!
A parishioner came in the afternoon to collect Philip’s camping gear that DD didn’t want, she has a teenage daughter about to goon a gap year somewhere…
Fiddled about with fabrics for a new patchwork. I think I’ll make different squares, a sort of sampler.
Same today, less church. There is a film being shown in the church hall in the afternoon, I may go.
Hugs to those in need. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Shropshire.Heavy rain overnight but a dry day forecast.

Good luck Grandmabatty!💪🏼

Yesterday was going well until about 4pm when we had a message from DD to say H had fallen down an escalator. He went head over heels smashing his head and neck on the steps as he went.He has a huge bump on his head and scratches on his arms and legs.Am waiting for a message to say how he is today.

Thinking of all coping with illness and worries about loved ones.💐

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Morning Mick, morning All from a soggy corner of Somerset.

Did very little yesterday, really must be more active today, although not outside unless the rain stops.

Hope your trip home is without hitch ash and childcare is trouble free grandmab. A rest today sounds a good plan mick, good luck tomorrow

Hope Monday is kind to us all.

cornergran Mon 24-Jul-23 06:47:08

That’s not good susan. 🤞 all is well today. Don’t they worry us?

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 24-Jul-23 06:52:10

Gosh Susan, I hope H is ok!
Morning all from a damp looking West Oxfordshire. Waitrose shop today laundry and ironing. I will do a bit of baking too. I boiled quite a lot of satsumas yesterday until they were soft. Today I will puree them, add eggs, ground almonds and sugar and make a Middle Eastern style cake. I’ve often done a similar cake with lemons.
Have a good day everyone.

Gala Mon 24-Jul-23 06:55:55

Good morning from a bright but very wet underfoot Sefton. A sunny day is forecast which will be a welcome respite from the downpours we've been having.
A busy day today. A short exercise class on FB first thing this morning, followed by our singing group. A quick lunch then off to "childmind" our 3 y o DGD whilst mum & dad who will be working from home today do conference calls & such like.
An extremely wet day kept us in all day yesterday but much paper was triaged. Now there's a whole heap of shredding to do.
Thoughts with those struggling with life.

BlueSapphire Mon 24-Jul-23 06:59:05

Good morning everyone from a very wet Northampton. Yoga first thing this morning,.then coffee with a neighbour. Hoover upstairs at sometime, and/or wash the kitchen floor.

Yesterday seemed very long being on my own all day; the afternoon was spent knitting, and I watched all three episodes of the Joanna Lumley spice programme I had recorded. Particularly enjoyed the first one spent in the remote Indonesian Banda Islands, tracing the history of nutmeg.

Keep adding to list of things I must not forget to pack for my cruise.....

Hope today is kind to all.

Good morning everyone from an overcast north Kent; rain is forecast for later.

Yesterday the holiday washing was seen to with a sunny blowy morning so everything was soon dried and put away. A text from DD inviting us round for a meal was a nice surprise and we spent the afternoon catching up with DGS 1 and 2 and all their news. They get bigger by the minute. No decision on their holiday to Rhodes next week; just have to see what the situation is nearer the time. DS and family are at Gatwick waiting for their flight to Vancouver.

Today the morning is taken up by my art class and the last acrylic painting session. We all take care to wear old clothes and aprons as things can get a bit messy, but it is always very enjoyable regardless of the outcome!

Hope you all have a good day.

Grandmabatty Mon 24-Jul-23 07:05:28

Susan oh no! Poor H. I hope he's ok

Marydoll Mon 24-Jul-23 07:15:14

Good morning all from a Sunny Glasgow, where it is 7°C.
I have no idea where my very early post went.

Mick, good idea to make list of questions and anything which is worrying you. I hope you have someone to accompany you, especially after such a big op.

DH is golfing and I need to phone the surgery first thing. DD found an abrupt voice mail on my phone yesterday, which had been sent on Thursday, an hour after I had left the surgery, asking me to call xxx xxxx. My name wasn't mentioned, who was calling, nor the reason. I have been worrying that it is something to do with my recent investigations.

We had a bit of drama at church yesterday, when a car rolled down the hill and embedded itself in a lamppost. If the car hadn't been badly parked, with the wheels turned, it would have embedded itself in my car! 😱
I had to stand in the pulpit and ask for the owner to come forward, as did the Deacon, and later the PP. No-one owned up! However, when we went out later to check, the car was gone! A mystery indeed.

Susan, you are having such a hard time of it, lately. I hope H is ok.
My best wishes for all who are poorly or worried.
Have a good day, folks.

kittylester Mon 24-Jul-23 07:20:47

Good morning all from a very wet North Leicestershire. No doubt Slash Lane will be shut so there will be increased traffic past our house.

We had a lovely day with DD1 and co. I do hope DGS3 stops growing soon - maybe I should stop shrinking too.

Today, we are starting another CarerLearning course - in Melton Mowbray. DH is off to the gym.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Jaxjacky Mon 24-Jul-23 07:27:19

Morning from S Hants, it’s rained overnight. I hope H is fine Susan.
MrJ came home yesterday early evening, good to have him back.
Today is voluntary phones, plan this week’s meals and some housework, not my favourite job.
Urms and Kalu in my thoughts.

Mizuna Mon 24-Jul-23 07:29:00

Good morning from a bright, breezy Cornwall. Susan, hope all will be ok. My daughter and her husband were on a Metro escalator the other day when she felt someone fall back against her (she's blind) and everyone behind her went down like ninepins. Amazingly no-one was hurt.

St Ives yesterday was of course crammed with people but nothing can detract from its breathtakingly beautiful light and azure seas. I could only manage the streets for a short while - not crutch friendly! - so I sat above the town and delighted in the view and watched tourists in awe of what they were photographing. It was funny seeing people lean on a Barbara Hepworth sculpture worth an absolute fortune, in order to take photos, when in galleries you're not permitted to touch her exhibits. She'd have been delighted, I'm sure.

A beach bbq in my own town this evening with my family, lovely. I can plonk myself down on the sand but my two strong sons will need to gently raise me - one arm each - when it's time to come home!

Greyduster Mon 24-Jul-23 07:32:40

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a dreary damp South Yorkshire. We had mega downpours again yesterday and more forecast for today. I have some tidying and food prep to do before my best friend comes to lunch tomorrow. She hasn’t been here for quite a while - I don’t want her to see how lazy I’ve become about my living arrangements!
Susan I hope H is okay - what an awful thing to happen, poor chap!
Have the best day you can folks - hope the sun is shining somewhere!

brook2704 Mon 24-Jul-23 07:36:07

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve light grey cloud, hoping the sun shines later
Oh no poor H Susan, that sounds like such a nasty fall, I hope he’s doing ok this morning
Today I’ve a couple of classes at the gym but nothing much else planned. Yesterday I had an unexpected invite to DD2s so I was pleased to see everyone and catch up on all their holiday news. DGS is off on a week long cub camp today and DGD is having her pals round most days. There’s no childcare needed just now as DD works from home and can keep an eye on them!
Hope the phone call to the surgery puts your mind at rest Marydoll, I really dislike voicemails like that
Safe travels for everyone on the move today
Thinking of Urms, Kalu and everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Nannagarra Mon 24-Jul-23 07:51:09

Good morning from sunny Sefton.
Horse riding and playing cricket with our DGC will keep us busy today.
I hope H is okay, that your appointment tomorrow helps to resolve issues, Mick, and that everyone has the best Monday possible. Sending a handhold to those worrying and struggling.
🌻

monk08 Mon 24-Jul-23 08:00:21

Good morning all from a very wet Black country.
No plans as yet, had 3 new books arrive yesterday so they will keep me busy still need to sort paperwork out did manage to clear some yesterday and fill the shredder.
Susan I do hope H is ok this morning it made me shudder just reading about it.
Ash safe travels and the same to anyone else on the move.
Thoughts with Urms and Kalu.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning from an overcast Colchester. Lovely family day yesterday with lots of baby cuddles. Now in car with DH and 2xDGS heading for breakfast and then a drive to Somerset where we are staying in a caravan for a week. Already stuck in traffic and we're not out of Colchester yet.
Love to all 🦩 x
