Good morning from a sunny Suffolk. Our 3 GC who live in Ipswich are coming to spend the day with us so their mum,who works from home mostly, can get on. They are travelling y train which takes just less than an hour. The youngest aged 9 has never been on a train so the journey will be an interesting part of the day as it is a slow one stopping at about 7 or so stations on the way.

We were talking last evening about how different their lives are from those of their parents in terms of experiences. Our eldest travelled by train to a new school where she knew nobody when she was just 11. It was on the same line as our DGC will travel today but 2 stops fewer. Of course she made friends with others on the train by the end of the second day but we never worried about her. I had done a trial run a few days before the start of school as there was a walk through the town as well as the train journey.

We are planning a walk with the dog along the river in a small market town only 5 miles away.

Tomorrow I have an early start as I’m going to the Sandringham flower show with a friend on a trip with a local coach company…by far the easiest way to go..

Hope there is a little sunshine in everyone’s day especially those with worries and distress.

Good morning, it’s a brighter start here in south Gloucestershire today so I’m hoping that the washing will dry outside.
Slept very badly so feeling a bit meh this morning 🙄, luckily nothing planned today.

Good morning from a much brighter Black Country.

Had my Mammogram yesterday. I was in and out within less than 10 minutes. Then a short walk to Merry Hill, where I bought a few bits and bobs, a lovely summer top from Matalan which was reduced to £3.50.

In the afternoon we replaced the top of our Gazebo, as the last one had ripped apart, so no real shade.

DD's friend was on Midlands Today news talking about their experience in the fire in Corfu. He said it is ok now and they are resuming their holiday. I think the situation is still being monitored though.

No real plans today. MrJ is off on a cycle ride with this club. I many phone my friend to see if she fancies a walk if she is free.

Wishing you all the best day possible, with special thoughts of Urms , Kalu and anyone living with health worries.

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Lots of excitement with family arriving and settling in. Not a clue what they will want to do today, a visit to the pub round the corner for the AGC. I believe.
Best wishes to all struggling along.

Stilllearning Tue 25-Jul-23 08:16:56

Morning from S Lanarkshire, bright but decidedly cool.
Heading into Giffnock this afternoon for first childminding since the end of June. The family have been in France and the north of Spain in their camper van and I can’t wait to see the DGC and hear their stories. I am also promised a special ‘hello again’ meal which I’m also looking forward to.

I hope your appointment goes well Mick.

When out yesterday I collected some alterations that were being done so I’ll have a try on this morning and hope they have been successful. I so envy all the nimble fingered who post on here. Three of my daughters have that gene but unfortunately it decidedly skipped me.

I’ll get going now and wish everyone the best of days. I’ll also pass on your friend’s tip to my bee keeping brother grandMattie, I was with him recently when he was stung in a similar fashion as Llfl’s DH and he didn’t mention anything about it.

Good morning from cloudy Cornwall. Late for me! Wonderful bbq last evening, daughter-in-law's family turned up too, so we were quite a crowd. Lots of swimming (not me - one day though). The photo is my nephew's son who was first in the water.

Today coffee with a knitting group friend to plan a project, then off to my grandson's 6th birthday bash at his house. Chaos will ensue, as will fun.

Good morning from a sunny NE but the forecast is for stormy weather this afternoon.
Courier did turn up yesterday afternoon and took away the big package from the porch, need to choose some different chairs but not until I know I have been reimbursed.
DD returns to Brussels today, next time she returns we will be going on holiday.
Hope your appointment goes well Mick

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle, a one day break before more rain arrives tomorrow apparently.

Good luck with your trip and appointment Mick. I hope you find reassurance if you need it.

Felt 'normal' walking about town yesterday though the bugs are taking their time to completely go. Don't want to aggravate them so taking things carefully atm.
Today I'll put a final load of laundry on for this week then spruce up the ensuite and, just maybe, do a bit of dusting. I'm generally oblivious to dust until the sun shines on it and makes me feel guilty! For a short while...

Have a good day every one.

Good morning from Durham. Blue sky and sunny, but not sure of the temperature yet. I fell asleep and slept on the sofa last night. I’m a bit stiff, but think I’m going to have to set an alarm to go to bed, not to get up!! It’s happened a few times now. Coffee this morning with a friend who has a brand new, as yet nameless granddaughter.
I’ve a ‘script to collect for my mouth abscess - it continues to come and go! Painful at times.
Details for Child/dog minding and helping DD2 later in the week must be finalized - always the last to know!
Mick hope you’ve checked that appointment date, but at least you’ll only be a day early.
Hoping our unwell GNs feel a bit better today.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
First time back at the music club today after holiday, so will have a warble this morning and organise my songs. Memorising two new songs. It will be nice to see everyone again, even those who are not my cup of tea…
Slept well for a change as put the cat out last night. No jumping on me at 4.30 in the middle of a dream about James Norton.😁
Hope your appointment goes well Mick and thoughts to all with troubles.

Good morning all from bright but coolish Argyle.

Good luck with your appointment Mick.

Enjoy your reunion with the family Stilllearning.

We had an enjoyable day yesterday with DD sand family. The morning was spent at the loch as DSiL took the three eldest out kayaking, they stayed close to the shore and DD, DH, littlest child, and daft dug watched from our perch on the rocks. After lunch at our cottage we were back at the lochside for a guided session with a lovely young marine scientist who helped the children identify shells and seaweeds and explained some of the work she does. Great fun.

Not sure what’s happening today as yet, possibly swimming and tennis for them, reading in the garden for me.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning everyone from a cloudy north Kent.

Yesterday’s art group was very productive and enjoyable; we have an excellent teacher and assistant and we all look forward to our sessions on Monday morning.

Today I have an eye test; can’t believe it’s been a year since the last one. I have slow growing cataracts due to living for some years in Asia and Africa where you tended to screw your eyes up against the sun’s glare rather than wear sunglasses. The cataracts are beginning to make their presence felt so I shall have a chat as to what can be done - I suspect not a lot!

Have DGS 1 and 2 this morning so they will have to occupy themselves with grandad whilst I am out; think a visit to the allotment might be in order where they can help pick some produce.

Hope you all have a good day.

Wyllow3 Tue 25-Jul-23 09:05:32

Good Morning from an overcast S Yorks.

Bests with that appointment Mick.

Probably just the gym today to be good and do physio exercises

The very best for poorlies and may family another trips out be good ones.

Good morning from a sunny , chilly Co Armagh
I was thinking of how things change , at the first glimpse of sun it was on with the sun lotion , reach for the deck chair and out in the garden , by which time it was probably raining ,
Now it’s on with the washing machine , get the sun screen on and the chair is in the shade !
I was so tired yesterday that I just gave my Daughter a shopping list and stayed home , she is a star , returned with the necessary plus a treat !
Washing machine is now spinning , I hope it dries before the showers return
Have the best day you can folks

Nannagarra Tue 25-Jul-23 09:11:08

A late good morning from Sefton.
“A man called Otto” is a remarkable film imo, GMattie, one I’d happily see again. We were supposed to be looking after grand dog but her “mum” is now wfh.
Best of luck with your appointment Mick. Thoughts remain with those who need our support.

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. Best of luck with your appointment Mick.
I slept badly last night, after watching that dreadful programme about meat, with Gregg Wallace. Gave me nightmares.
So, having a blood test this morning is not exactly the best timing.
Visited our solicitors yesterday afternoon, to sign our LPA's. I think there should be an evening class to 'walk' you through it! Sign here, there, but not until 'A' has signed, etc. spinning head!
I do applaud all those grans who do so much child care. We always lived too far away to be any use to ours, and also I worked for many years.
Marydoll continue to take it easy, hmmm...
Thinking of the Kalu's, the Urms and all those with worries.
Have a good day one and all.

Litterpicker Tue 25-Jul-23 09:33:49

Good morning from a cloudy but dry East Lothian. It’s our last day here for now - back in September 🙂
We have the excitement of taking a builder’s bag of garden pruning to the recycling centre. DD has a hospital appointment that we will take her to. DGSs are off to Speyside for their DofE excursion - mainly by kayak. Motivating them to get ready yesterday was a nightmare. One has autism and the other is dyslexic and both are very ‘teenage’ at the moment 😬

Thoughts with all those with challenges. I hope your appointment goes ok, Mick.

Sar53 Tue 25-Jul-23 09:34:24

Good morning from the Essex coast. We have sun and cloud in equal measures, I'm not sure which one will win.
More admin this morning and a trip to the Post Office.
Our car has gone to have all the little scrapes, that DH made, repaired. He is driving a manual car for the next few days, glad it's not me.
We had a helicopter very low overhead for about an hour last night. What a noise !!
Have a pleasant day everyone and let us hope that we all see some sun over the next few days. xxx

Morningsmile
My first post so just saying Hi! Wasn't sure if there is a thread for newbies?

Nannagarra Tue 25-Jul-23 09:44:46

That should read “Living”, GMattie, rather than “Otto”. Wakey, wakey, Garra!

Georgesgran Tue 25-Jul-23 09:52:49

Hi Coco12 - welcome to the thread which is for absolutely anybody, everybody and the dog!
Hopefully, you’ll tell us a little more about yourself?
You’ll get the gist from reading the previous posts - usually (unless he’s indisposed) started by Mick first thing. Have a good day.

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire. I hope your appointment goes well Mick.

Yesterday was another quiet day, MrB was pottering in the garden and I managed to sort and shred a huge pile of paperwork, do the laundry and make a slow cooker curry. I didn’t manage to get out for a walk as I’d used up all my energy by late afternoon. I was a bit apprehensive about the curry given my recent digestive problems but I felt fine. Hoping that’s one less thing to worry about and the curry was delicious. Nothing planned for today, we will see how it goes.

I’m loving reading all your news and plans, you are an industrious bunch.

Thinking of Kalu, Urms, Baggs and all who are dealing with illness right now.

Have a good day all 🌻

Grammaretto Tue 25-Jul-23 10:02:42

Welcome coco12! We love to see Newbies here. Is there a special thread? I don't think so. Just join in any conversation on any thread that takes your fancy. This is a good one to start!

Blossoming Tue 25-Jul-23 10:05:21

Hello there Coco12 👋🏻

GrannyGravy13 Tue 25-Jul-23 10:23:36

A very late hello from S E Essex, where the sun has finally made an appearance.

Our teenagers have been picked up by DS, the beds are stripped, just need to find my ironing mojo.

My sister is coming for lunch today with her two girls, I have the 8yr old whilst DD is at work, DiL is joining us with two GC.

Haven’t read the thread for a couple of days, will try and catch up with all your news by the end of the week 🤣🤣🤣. The summer school holidays are always extremely busy for me.

(((Hugs))) for our dear friends in need.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩
