Good Morning Everyone,
A bright sunny start here in brackley this morning.
Today, will be first trip away since returning from hospital , the appointment is to see a specialist in the outpatients in Horton at Banbury to see whether i need further treatment .
Otherwise usual watch cycling on TV etc.
Take Care,
Mick

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 25-Jul-23 06:23:32

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
Mick, I hope all goes well at the Horton. I had a post-operative meeting there a few years ago.
I’m collecting a dress from the seamstress today. I had the hem turned up. I will wear it to either my niece’s wedding in Australia next month, or another niece’s wedding in France in September. I need to check with my cleaner that she is able to come tomorrow, otherwise I’ll be getting the Hoover out. Did I mention that one of OH’s bees stung him on the chin on Saturday? It is still quite red and swollen. Somehow the bee managed to infiltrate his bee suit! I have a bit of WI admin to do. That will be it until September. There is the summer outing in August, but I’ll be away. Have a good day everyone. As well as Mick, I’m thinking of Urms too.

Grandmabatty Tue 25-Jul-23 06:31:49

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and cloudy. I hope all goes well at your meeting Mick. I suppose stings are to be expected Ladyleftfieldlover but unpleasant nonetheless.
Yesterday was a good day with the boys. Soft play in the morning tired them out and dgs2 had a long nap in the afternoon while dgs1 cuddled up and watched TV and played quietly. I made a chicken and mushroom curry for dinner which tasted very nice. Enough left for tonight too.
Today will be a childcare day again. I think we will go to the local large park in the morning. Running around, playing in the playpark and feeding the birds are scheduled. Then the garden this afternoon. Have a good day all

Whitewavemark2 Tue 25-Jul-23 06:43:50

Good morning from a bright South Downs.

Hair appointment this morning.

Decided to have a break from cooking today, so will nip into Marks for an easy meal.

Have a good day

grandMattie Tue 25-Jul-23 06:52:12

Good morning from Bristol. Broken cloud, but no rain expected today.
Quiet day yesterday, did some patchwork.
I waited in for a handyman to come for a quote on putting up shelves and two half doors.
I then went to a cinema club in the church hall showing “A !
Man called Otto”. Interestingly, Tom Hanks was mostly unrecognisable; sweet story.
This morning, I’m going to try a new tai chi class; it’s a 25minute walk from here, complicated bus journey. Also, this afternoon, meeting a lady from church - not sure why I’ve been asked…
Hope the poorlies and unhappy managed today with less of everything. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Grammaretto Tue 25-Jul-23 06:52:19

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is only 9° and clear. Brr what's happened to Summer.

I've been awake for hours planning to buy a cosy new duvet for the winter.

I hope your trip to the Horton goes well Mick. Sorry about your DH sting LLFO I use rescue remedy (from herbalist) and wondergel (from equine store) to relieve stings.

Housework for me but I must get out walking too.

Have a nice day whatever you do.

Taichinan Tue 25-Jul-23 06:55:01

Good morning all from the usual grey, breezy, cold Angus coast.
I hope all goes well for you on your hospital visit*Mick*.
Your poor husband lady - a bee inside his protective suit couldn't have been a pleasant experience!
I'm very early on here this morning. After a few nights of good sleep, last night wasn't so good - that's the way my sleep cycle goes.
Today is Tai chi with the less experienced group - no problems with what to teach there! Then shopping. And apart from that just pootling around and probably read my book.
Best wishes for a good day with an appearance by the sun at some point for everyone x

kittylester Tue 25-Jul-23 06:57:34

Good morning all from a brightish but cloudyish North Leicestershire.

I'm off to sit with my friend this morning while DH has a routine cystoscopy. Tea, gossip and a bit of tidying up seems like the best option.

Have a good day everyone.

Marydoll Tue 25-Jul-23 06:57:35

Good morning Mick and all from a partly sunny Glasgow, where it is 11°C.

Good luck with your appointment Mick, I hope the news is positive and you find a solution to some of your concerns.

I have been awake since 5.30am coughing, it's exhausting. It sounds like a seal barking! Of course Mr MD has been disturbed too! Its all heart related, so not much to be done. However, I feel as if the pollen is very high, which won't be helping.

The call from the surgery remains a mystery, no-one knows who called, nor why.
If it was serious, I'm sure they would try again. Thanks for all the reassurance yesterday.

I have a parcel to collect from M&S, which I will probably have to return. Its from Finery and I forgot, that more endowed ladies should go up a size! It's sold out now so no chance of replacing it. 😔

GM Batty, I don't know how you keep going!
Hoping to hear wee H is on the mend.

As always, keep all those who need our support in my thoughts and prayers.

Have a good day, whatever your plans.

Taichinan Tue 25-Jul-23 06:59:12

I hope you enjoy your different tai chi class grandmattie. There are so many different forms and I should imagine it's quite a challenge moving from one to another.

Beechnut Tue 25-Jul-23 07:13:22

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s a cloudy start and I’ve just hung out two loads of washing so I hope it will all be able to dry.

My brother came by yesterday and very kindly mended a chair for me. I’m glad I asked his advice on what I had in mind as he did it another way and I think my way would have just messed it up.

I’ve a few jobs to get on with today and keeping my fingers crossed that my parcel arrives. I longingly watched the postman yesterday as he made his way down my street but he never came to my door 🥲

Have a good day all 🌷

Ashcombe Tue 25-Jul-23 07:16:34

Good morning from a sunny Torbay.

I hope your appointment goes well, Mick, and you find out the next steps.
A bee sting on the face sounds very unpleasant, Ladyleftfieldover for your poor DH.
It sounds like you’re establishing yourself in your new community, grandMattie, with your involvement in many activities, which is great.
I bet you sleep well, Grandmabatty after your busy days with the boys!
You are going through some tough times, Susan56; poor H!

We had a good journey home yesterday with all trains behaving and we were back indoors just after 1.00 pm. Full marks to the staff on the Cross Country train who were as obliging as ever, likewise the Travelodge staff.

Great excitement at the theatre as the costumes for the uniformed characters arrived yesterday. The chaps looked rather good in their Home Guard uniforms and a few of us ladies will look quite fetching in navy blue boiler suits when we act the parts of German U-boat sailors!

Make the most of the sunshine, those who have it. 🦩🥰😎💐🦩

llfl, when I kept bees, a fellow apiarist who was a GP recommended the following for stings :- two regular antihistamines taken by mouth, a spray of local anaesthetic (from sting spray) and a “poultice” of aspirin made by crushing a tablet with a little water applied on the sting site. Unfortunately, it has to be done very soon after being stung. Hope that helps.

Good morning from s somerset, a bright and cloudy day today

I was up early, downloaded the first- bus app and spent too long working out how to use it. Still, I am very pleased, now I know how the buses can enable me to go where I may well need to get to soon. I am building up my bus-knowledge base for the `what if` in the future

Off out in 40 minutes, my car needs a service and mot. Half an hour to walk back.

Have a good day

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 25-Jul-23 07:23:09

Good morning from a bright and sunny Oxfordshire where it’s only 8 degrees, brrrrrrr.
Boiler service some time before 12, shopping delivery, then take one of the cars up to the garage, then cooking MrOops a cottage pie with meat and another for me without, freezing most of it I’m guessing. We are only eating between 12 and 6 pm but after the 12 o’clock meal we struggle to eat again before 6. Anyway it will be worth it as one of us definitely needs to shift the weight, whilst the other one insists that, no, really, she could do with losing a few more lbs as well!
I will then have a long chat with my SIL as her husband ( my BIL) is having Palliative care, although he seems to be coping very well with the Chemo, it’s a worrying time.
I also need to look online for a dress for a wedding inSeptember, online first, but I expect I will have to go shopping soon to look for something to wear with short sleeves in an actual shop.
Let’s hope the sun shines on us today and Summer returns very soon.
Hope the appointment goes ok Mick
Have a good day everyone.

ginny Tue 25-Jul-23 07:27:07

Good morning everyone.
A little brighter in N. Bucks and so far no rain forecast .
Hopefully we will have a potter in the garden. A few things to plant up and general tidying.
Mick good luck with your appointment.
A good day wished for all.

monk08 Tue 25-Jul-23 07:36:52

Good morning all from the Black country where it is dry at the moment, have put some washing on hopefully it can go outside.
DH would like to look at a fishing venue with a view to booking a contest will wait for him to waken before I know if that's todays plans.
Mick hope all goes well with your appointment.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Thanks for that info. I’ll pass it on to OH. When he was first stung someone removed the sting and gave him an antihistamine straight away. I think this was his first bee sting ever!

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, no rain forecast until this evening, so I have got a load of washing in the machine, and another one ready to go. That should be it for my pre-cruise washing.

Have managed to give both cats their flea and worming treatments before they go to the cattery tomorrow; it's a spot-on treatment and they absolutely hate it, and I have to be a master of sleight of hand as I approach them as they seem to know that it's tucked in my palm! They will ignore me now for the rest of the day!

A busy day yesterday, yoga first thing, then coffee with a neighbour; after lunch I set to and Hoovered upstairs and down, and then washed the kitchen floor, and also the porch and downstairs cloakroom floors. An unexpected delivery from Amazon, only to find it wasn't for me, but my next-door neighbour.

DS and family flew off for their holiday yesterday - to Corfu, where there are reports of forest fires, but reportedly not as bad as Rhodes. Hope it is uneventful for them, and that they have a lovely time.

A quiet morning of pottering, then health walk after lunch. Dinner tonight (thawing in the fridge) is spicy mince and beans with a jacket potato.

Good luck for today, Mick. And wishing all a good Tuesday.

Pittcity Tue 25-Jul-23 07:42:35

Good morning from sunny Somerset. We are in a lovely brand new caravan in Burnham on Sea. The site is full despite the weather or probably because of the weather abroad.
We are driving up to Weston SM today to make the most of the good weather forecast. Now where's the suncream?
Love to all 🦩 x

Susan56 Tue 25-Jul-23 07:43:44

Good morning from Shropshire where the sun is shining.

Thank you for all your concern for H.Apart from bruises and scratches he seems to be showing no ill effects from his accident🤞🏻

Today I have an injection in my shoulder mid afternoon.I have to rest for a couple of days afterwards so this morning will be spent making sure all housework and laundry is up to date(it usually is!)and also to finish packing for a few days away later in the week.

Glad yesterday was a good day with the boys Grandmabatty, hope today is too.

Mick, good luck with your appointment.

Mary, I hope you feel better as the day goes on.

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

brook2704 Tue 25-Jul-23 07:45:36

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey and cloudy and it seems quite cold.
Hoping all goes well with your appointment today mick
I’m hoping to get outside for a potter in the garden today, I didn’t get chance yesterday and I always feel better for it. Next week I’m really looking forward to DD1 and DGSs coming to stay so I need to do some preparation and meal planning too.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Greyduster Tue 25-Jul-23 07:49:10

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Hope your consultation goes well today Mick. A dry brightish South Yorkshire day. I am picking my best friend up later to come here for lunch. It’s all prepared ready to go in the oven when we get back - I just have a strawberry flan to finish off this morning. If it stays dry we might have a short walk. It will be nice to have her here again; she hasn’t been for a long time as there is no bus for her to catch and DH always used to pick her up and take her home.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Jaxjacky Tue 25-Jul-23 07:51:03

Morning from sun in S Hants. I hope your appointment is reassuring Mick.
I wish I could find a tai-chi class near us taichinan, I keep looking.
Yesterday was busy on the voluntary phone, then we had quiz, good fun, but we were fourth.
Must book a hair cut, I’ve been saying that for weeks.
Thinking of those in difficult places.
🦩🦩

Gingster Tue 25-Jul-23 07:57:49

Good morning all and actually it’s the 25Th JULY, Mick. (Not 26th).
I hope you’ve got the right date for your appointment 🙏

We’re back on the Suffolk coast now and had a good journey up, despite the rain, heavy at times.
Lots of gardening to be done, but we’ll take it easy and won’t ‘kill’ ourselves .
Yesterday late afternoon and evening were glorious with interesting skies and the sea colours changing all the time. We love to sit on our bank with a g and t watching nature at its best.

On the BBC. Local news yesterday morning, our beach was shown with volunteers being trained on how to deal with whales if they are ‘beached’. They were using inflatable whales 🤣. We’ve never seen a whale here (42 years) , only a dead porpoise on the beach and now and then seals swimming close to the shore.
Occasionally they come on to the beach but then quickly hop back into the sea.

More gardening today and a local shop . We haven’t seen our neighbour yet and it’s very quiet next door. I’ll keep an eye open for her and perhaps give her a knock, to see if all is well. 🤔.

Hoping you all have a *good’ day. Do check that appointment date Mick.🌸
