Good morning from s somerset, it will be raining for much of today

Yesterday I thought was sunday, I even arrived home from my cycle ride and switched the radio on, to listen to the archers. Silly me, easy to lose track of days, in spite of an open diary in the kitchen. I made cake instead, date and walnut traybake and parkin, the parkin is maturing and the traybake slices are in the freezer

Sleep was back on track, thankfully and I have decided to work on a project today. I shall cut out some nice fabric and make a top. I will need to take something out for the charity shop first, one in and one, or two, out

Have a good day

Good morning from an overcast Bristol.
The weather was very odd yesterday - there was brilliant sunshine, then, as if a switch had been turned, it absolutely poured down, then after a few minute, the reverse happened. Someone commented that this was first year she went out with both umbrella and sun hat…
I fiddled around with patchwork squares yesterday, using up the squares of the wrong size to make different blocks. Ditto today.
Church this morning, then empty…
My thoughts and prayers for those in need especially Urms, kalu, Marydoll, and the others unnamed. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Broken cloud but a dry start to the South Yorkshire day. DS and DiL stayed over. We had a lovely dinner and rather a lot of wine. We are off to a christening on the northern outskirts of the city later this morning, followed by a family lunch at my nephew’s house. It’s a fairly long drive from here.
Hope Sunday is kind to everyone.

Good morning from West Wales.Dry at the moment but rain forecast.

Yesterday we were on the beach when out of nowhere there was torrential rain and a strong wind.By the time we ran back to the car we were soaked 🙄We spent time with MIL.The sun came out in the afternoon so DH did some garden jobs for her.

We will call in to see MIL this morning then travel home with a couple of stops on the way.DD1 will collect the children late afternoon.

Thoughts with all who are struggling with health issues and those caring for loved ones.

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Good morning from a damp hillside on the Cotswolds.
Having completely overdone things the last couple of days, I’m now paying for it ☹️ so today’s going to be very quiet.
I’m daft, I do not know how to pace myself at all but at least the garden is looking good! DH dug out the vastly overgrown plum tree that was supposed to be a dwarf patio one but had grown to at least 15’! I replanted the border and tidied up, so two borders done!
Take care everyone 🌹

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Gloucestershire.

Pleased to report Mr C is progressing albeit slowly. He should move from HDU to a ward tomorrow. I’ll be heading home this evening. Our family have acted as chauffeur and chef since Thursday, time to go it alone. Parking issues mean bus travel for me now, a couple of hours each way but easy to do. I’ve been more than grateful for your support. It’s meant a lot. Please understand if I’m not around while a new routine establishes.

Pleased you’re getting back into the world, mick, gently does it. Thinking of all with personal mountains to climb.

Good morning from a sunny South Downs, although rain is forecast for later, I must put out a couple of silk tops I washed to dry. They dry in seconds.

Yesterday we had a delightful afternoon spent in a medieval Manor House garden (a Manor House back then-900 years- was much smaller than later ones) with afternoon tea listening to my daughter and others sing. A real pleasure. Particularly as the gardens are so beautiful.

Today rain is forecast by 11am, so might try to put in an hour in the garden before it starts. Nothing else planned so will knit, read and twiddle.

Lamb ragu for our main meal today.

Enjoy your day

Oh! And pleased to read about your DH cornergran recovery always seems to take ages, but that is one thing I have learned over the years - you can’t rush your body’s natural process - it knows what is doing and takes it’s time🙂.

Good morning Mick and all from the Scottish Borders. Wind and rain now but hopefully it will quieten down later.

I'm nursing a cold and swithering about whether or not to inflict myself on my DS and family today.

I have a couple coming to stay tomorrow and must make up beds. They are part of the HelpX scheme and volunteer in exchange for bed and board. I have a wish list of jobs for them.

I am glad to hear Mr Corner is in recovery Corner I hope you have him home soon.

Thinking of Kalu, Urms and all with troubles.

Good morning all from overc
Harrogate

Good morning from a cloudy Torbay.

It’s very good to hear from cornergran as she and her DH begin the road to recovery. We shall all be thinking of you both over the weeks ahead.

That sounds like a lovely event, Whitewavemark2 and in the perfect setting.

Yesterday evening we attended a party for two stalwarts of our theatre company who are both celebrating their 80th birthdays. A few of us delivered sketches, poems, etc in their honour. Both are still active in the theatre, on and off stage, despite some health issues.

Church this morning then a long session at the theatre for our first technical rehearsal for which we are required to wear costumes.

Every blessing. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Oops. Good morning from overcast Harrogate. Good to hear your DH is improving Corner and you Mick are getting back to normal.
Hope to go to church this morning, then go straight into town where the Harrogate carnival parade should be passing through. Last year it was on a Saturday which was more convenient. Anyway hope the rain stays off for the parade. Last year there were some exotic costumes which could be damaged by the weather tomorrow I have DGS coming early so might not get a chance to post!
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning all from a bright North Leicestershire.

More kitchen clearing today. It's never ending!!

So glad to hear the news about MrC.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Last year’s carnival

Good morning from Cornwall where it's bucketing down. Love a really rainy day, everything so fresh. A nice breeze too.

Out of the blue my seven-year-old granddaughter invited herself for the day yesterday; she's a reflective child and comes here when she needs quiet time. We mooched around and climbed to my raised secret space in the woods behind my flat, where to her delight she found two blackberries, one of which she gave to me. She is so sweet.

Lovely news cornergran. Today church at 4pm and a gentle day before that, with coffee at Wetherspoons at some point this morning.

luluaugust Sun 30-Jul-23 07:38:09

Good morning from a bright W Kent. Busy day today with family visiting to see DD1 and family. Large lasagne in preparation.
Pleased to hear things are going the right way Corner.
Best wishes to all

grandMattie Sun 30-Jul-23 07:38:54

So pleased to get the news of your DH, corner. Hugs and prayers all round. ❤️

brook2704 Sun 30-Jul-23 07:39:03

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve sunshine and clouds, the weather is very changeable here
Lovely to hear from you corner and pleased to hear your DH is doing so well and you’ve had good support from your family.
Yesterday I did lots of cleaning and sorting out, more of the same today with hopefully a bit of gardening thrown in. My DD from Cambridge and the DGSs are arriving tomorrow to stay for the week so I’ll be happy but busy with lots going on
Enjoy the carnival parade Gwen and hope the rain holds off
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Oopsadaisy1 Sun 30-Jul-23 07:39:44

Good morning from another sunny day in Oxfordshire, but the wind is blowing a gale out there, same as yesterday.
I’m going to venture into the loft space this morning and have a clear out.
That’s it until the dog arrives for her usual Sunday/Monday sleepover.
Good to hear MrCornergran is recovering nicely.
Pleased you are getting back to normal Mick.
Best wishes to all the poorly grans and those looking after sick loved ones.
Have a good day everyone.

Grandmabatty Sun 30-Jul-23 07:50:54

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 13° and bucketing down. If it keeps up, my plans for today will change. Cornergran I'm very glad to hear about your DH and his continued recovery. Susan safe journey home.
Yesterday I seemed to achieve quite a lot without rushing. Food shop, retail park for curtains and other bits. I spied nice linen napkins and a table runner, all of which match my dining room curtains so I had to buy them. It would have been criminal not to. 😂 The boys' room is all sorted now and my car boot is full of things to take to the charity shop.
Today I had planned to spend in the garden getting rid of weeds which are springing into existence because of the rain. Sadly, I'm a dry weather gardener, so they might need to stay another day. I'll potter about indoors if necessary. Gammon with onion and mustard sauce for dinner. Have a good day all

Good morning everyone from a sunny Kirkwall in the Orkneys. Off on an excursion today to th astone Age settlement of Skara Brae; remember teaching my Yr 5s about it and it sounded fascinating. Just had an early breakfast of pancake, crispy bacon and an egg!

Georgesgran Sun 30-Jul-23 07:56:04

Good morning from Durham. It seems much fresher today. We only had a bit of rain yesterday around 9pm - just as I was taking Little Dog out.
Going through to DD2 after DGS2 has had his nap and we’ll take him out ‘somewhere’. Her DH is away and it makes life easier, if she has a bit of outside help.
Dog walk again later. Very mundane at the moment.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from sunny Colchester. It feels a bit less humid. Another changeable day weatherwise.
Finishing off the holiday laundry and preparing to host two dgs who are back with us this evening.
Love to all 🦩 x

Sorry, posted too soon! Yesterday was spent relaxing on board; great excitement at lunchtime as we sailed past our sister ship, there was much sounding of horns!
Yesterday afternoon I went to a pamper session at the spa, and then spent a couple of hours having a manicure and luxurious pedicure, so I was all ready for formal night.
The photo shows our sister ship sailing past.
