Good evening Kitcheners. We had an hour of absolute tantrums from dgs2. Oh boy, he's hard work at times. However both boys have been delivered home and I'm having a sit down before I visit mum. Then it'll be home for chicken curry and to tidy away the toys. Dgs1 does help but dgs2 wasn't being obliging today. Enjoy your evening all

Hi to all kitchen pals, it’s been a day of sunshine and showers here in Inverness
I tried out a new class at the gym this morning- boxercise. Quite good fun really, no actual contact with anything but a good stress buster workout. A few jabs and a sideways kicks for those that can manage it. I did my own version 🤣
annsixty good to see you back but sorry to hear you’ve been unwell. Hope you’re back to normal soon.
Definitely a bargain there llfl with your international driving licence
grandmabatty AKA super gran well done ! I hope you get a restful evening once you’re home from visiting your mum x

Where are all the kitcheners today? Missing you.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 13-Sept-23 19:14:55

I’m here! Hello kitchen people. I’ve spent the day in the kitchen: caramel ice cream, Barmbrack, marzipan fruit cake and rich chocolate cakelets. Annoyingly I had a migraine so won’t be going to the Local History Society this evening. The migraine has gone but the medication I take leaves me feeling drained and exhausted. Have a good evening.

Jaxjacky Wed 13-Sept-23 19:23:44

Present and correct!
I did two walks today so am pleasingly tired, MrJ removed the giant courgette plants from the garden while I supervised, autumn is definitely here.
I need to stock up on veg tomorrow, running short, trip to the farm shop.
Cottage pie in the oven.
Enjoy your evening.

Good evening Kitcheners. I visited my friend's partner today to see how he is coping. We had a good blether and I was there for two and a half hours. Then I came home and tidied up the garden. Later on, the hospital phoned to say mum has covid. She was coughing last night so she probably has passed it to me. I've had to cancel plans for tomorrow and Saturday until I can test. It's rampant in this area apparently. Mum has a temperature but seems ok, according to the nurse. Fingers crossed that it passes me by! I hope everyone has a good evening.

Scapa1 Wed 13-Sept-23 20:20:17

Evening kitcheners. Not been up to much today finished my pile of ironing so that is a relief until the next time that is 🤣. In the afternoon I did my Sainsbury order it is not due till Saturday but I like to get it sorted early and just have an odd thing to add at the last minute. GD2 came in after school as usual on a Wednesday. it was lovely to see her even after having her at the weekend. She only stays till 4.30 on Wednesday then Dh takes her to her drama group after which her mum picks her up. Raining now has anyone else been cold today? Never happy are we!

brook2704 Wed 13-Sept-23 20:42:33

Hi to all kitchen pals, all fine here. I’ve definitely been cold today Scapa, the heating went on first thing this morning as there was a definite nip in the air. Then the rain came in this evening and it’s very windy too. I’m happy to be staying in
I’ll keep everything crossed for you grandmabatty that you don’t get covid, and hope your mum recovers quickly. Lots of it about here too, I’ve not got my booster jab until the beginning of October so I’m trying to dodge it until then.
My goodness llfl I’m sure you could open a cafe with all the wonderful things you cook, I’m always in awe of your culinary talents, well done you 👏

Blossoming Wed 13-Sept-23 21:15:07

Wonderful news Yia. Hope everyone is well, goodnight all x

Nannytopsy Wed 13-Sept-23 21:36:24

Great news Yiayia - I hope you’re very happy.
Grandmabatty you don’t do things by halves! If it’s not toddlers with tantrums, it covid in the nursing home! I hope your mum is OK and you escape it.
We had a lovely 2 hour lunch and then went to the beach. DGS enjoys seaweed! He is such a happy little soul!

SueDonim Wed 13-Sept-23 22:00:57

I think we should all go round to LLFL, with all those cakes she has! Hope the migraine has gone now - I had one yesterday as well. They’re such a bore.
Your veg look most impressive, Jax! Are they from your garden or an allotment?
I hope your mum recovers from the Covid, GMbatty and that you don’t catch it.
Scapa I’ve been frozen today! It was only 11deg when I went out at 9:45 and our bedroom radiator started clanking just before I got up. I had to put socks on today, as well. Summer has gone.
What a cute photo, Topsy! He’s just adorable.
Yia I hope you’ve found the kettle and the cake in your new home and that the unpacking is going well.

It’s been busy today after a quiet yesterday. I had an asthma review first thing this morning (honestly, developing asthma at my age!) which was fine, apart from when I had to get on the scales. Oh dear - no more cake for me.

Then it was our PT session. After recovering from that(!) we got GD from school and got her to her dance class. A quick shop for a few bits then it was time to collect her and take her home. Back at ours, we had to move the sofa from the family room to the garage in make space for a new one which was being delivered this evening. I decided we should also turn the rug round by 180deg to even out the wear on it. It was very much a case of the Chuckle Brothers trying to get it into place. ‘To me, to you, no - more to me. No, not that much to me, now to you.’

We got there in the end and the sofa arrived and is very nice! I’ve not yet had a nap on it, which is when I’ll give my final verdict. grin

Take care, everyone. Xxx

annsixty Thu 14-Sept-23 16:22:36

Has anyone else noticed posts missing from this thread.?
I posted after reading one from Baggs and Grandmabatty posted about her mum and now these three at least have disappeared or I am going delusional

soop Thu 14-Sept-23 16:37:58

Nannytopsy Your photograph is delightful.

I have lots of news to share with you lovely lot. Only, thanks to a day of chasing our tails, and visitors who were happy to blether, (and an exercise bike that has been a nightmare to take apart and repack) I am beyond frazzled.

Please forgive me. I hope to have a more leisurely day, less stressed day tomorrow. In which case, I shall spend time with you and hopefully catch up.

My best wishes to you all. smile moon
