Lovely photos Soop
Beautiful, happy photos soop.
Evening folks. Lovely photos Soop. We had a lovely visit to the Japanese gardens near Dollar in Clackmannanshire this afternoon. We were given a voucher for entry and afternoon tea as a gift.It was very peaceful walking around and the gardens are very well tended. We were very lucky as the weather stayed dry and was not windy or cold. That will do us no dinner necessary tonight or maybe just a small snack later.
Have a pleasant evening kitcheners.
Cracking pictures soop a photogenic lot aren’t you! I’m glad your visitors gave you both pleasure.
I like those gardens Scapal they do look very tranquil.
A sunny day today, but with a cool wind which helped the washing to dry. I spent some time sorting out seeds for the garden, mostly veg, discarding some empty packets, oops and mentally noting replacements required.
We caught the last rays of the sun in the pub garden, dinner is in the slow cooker, so won’t be long.
Hope you’re now with your son brook have a great weekend.
Enjoy your evening all.
I agree with Jaxjacky, what a photogenic family, gorgeous photos, Soop. Looks like you've had a wonderful time.
More stunning photos from Scapa, what a beautiful setting for that delicious afternoon tea, what a lovely day out .
Enjoy your visitors, Annsixty, I'm sure all will go well.
Glad you're feeling brighter today, Dusty.
I hope Charleygirl has had a fantastic birthday.
Wishing all you lovely Kitchen people a good weekend. I'm now packed for Aviemore, car valeted and topped up with fuel, we leave tomorrow. This evening I'm getting 'titivated' as my dear Mum would say, going out for a meal with my sisters.
TOYA and an early NNGB.
Adding my Birthday wishes for you Charleygirl to everyone else’s in the kitchen 🥳 💝💐
Good evening Kitcheners. Nice to see you posting Tilly. I appreciated my birthday message from you. I have done Saturday's housework today because I'm having both boys all day Saturday and overnight 😱. I returned jumpers that were too large, bought a cable needle and autumn stuff and have decorated the house with all my autumn bits and pieces. The heating is on and candles are lit so I feel cosy. I visited mum tonight and she is finally covid free. Thank goodness. I assume Brook is safely landed and settled in Switzerland. Have a good evening Kitcheners
Oh no, I just lost my long post! 😫 Let me think…I mentioned Neine’s sadness, Soops lovely photos, Charley’s 80th birthday, Annsixty’s outings. *Scapa’s photos - we visited the Japanese gardens with our GD. I checked back at my photos and it was in 2019! So much has happened since then. Also *GMbatty’s lovely wreath and Brooks travels.
It’s been busy with us, a new PT routine to learn on Weds and GD dancing lesson run plus she came back for her tea.
Yesterday I had my hair cut (also booked an appt just before we go to a very posh wedding in London in Dec) and met a friend who’s about to undergo chemo. We managed to have lots of laughs as well as the more serious things.
Today we’ve had our GS to look after. He’s just adorable right now, his speech is coming on in huge strides and we’re getting sentences too. It’s been so sudden, like a big blossoming of language. We also dropped off our GD at Rainbows once we’d taken GS home.
All this has been interspersed with zillions of messages and phone calls from dd2 who is buying a new car and wanted much reassurance that she’s doing the right thing. We all had to have an opinion on her choice before she said yes. 😂
A busy weekend coming up so we’re looking forward to that, then I’m seeing a friend on Monday.
Take care, everyone. Xx
Have the best time Grannmarie, gloves and hat at the ready.
Crumbs, slow down Suedonim I’ll have whatever you’ve had please!
A late visit, again. Fabulous photos soop, some wonderful memories made.
How are you now neine?Life’s trip wires can be hard to navigate.
That’s a very elegant wreath grandmab. A very serene place scapa. I love hearing about places too far away to visit.
You’ve been busy ann, your meal will be excellent, I just know it.
Apologies, I know there are many I’ve missed. Please don’t be offended. The head doesn’t hold it all.
To end with some positive news from yesterdays hospital visit. We had a long session with yet another Italian Professor. A people person he took time, understood how scary it had been and was as reassuring as it’s possible to be. He appreciated seeing a copy of the surgery ECG and was grateful for my (very long) BP list. It all gave him a picture of what had happened. Yesterdays ECG was as normal as it could be. He was able to explain it all to us and share an opinion it is very unlikely it will occur with such force again. Medication tweaked, he asked we continue to monitor heart rate and BP daily for a month, can move to every two or three days then and gradually tail off. The GP will be first port of call, he advised we have a review with her in a month. If we’re really concerned then to call the department secretary and request an appointment. We’re so grateful for the level of care, can’t fault it. Also grateful for our sons ability to avoid traffic jams, our route through central Bristol was at a standstill yesterday.
We’re both much more relaxed today although sniffling, hoping a reaction to the covid jabs and not colds, they definitely aren’t allowed
.
Hope Charley has had a good day.
Feet up time now and an early night. As ever, TOYA.
Hello everyone, I seem to have had an exhausting day. Sort of. I drove my friend and I to our nearby town and attended an Art Society lecture on Georgian Art and Architecture. It was very interesting. They get excellent speakers. Later I collected Milo and Ripley’s de-flea medication. £99.76 for the two
I then click and collected a new small frying pan from Waitrose. Someone was supposed to come from BT between 1pm and 6 pm to do something to our landline. They didn’t turn up.
Those are beautiful photos Soop. You all look so happy!
Sleep tight.
A very Happy Belated birthday Charleygirl I hope you had a lovely day! 💐🥂❤️
So much lovely kitchen news to catch up on and what gorgeous photos too! Soop what a lovely family you have, everyone looks so happy. The garden photos are lovely too Scapa I’ll have to visit there one day.
Safe journey grannmarie enjoy your holidays
Thanks everyone for your kind comments, our journey yesterday was good. We arrived in Basel by lunchtime and had a lovely afternoon by the river. DS met up with us after work and we had a delicious meal out. DS and his partner are so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Their apartment here is stunning and were being very well looked after. I’ll need to get up and find my way around the kitchen soon to make a cuppa. I don’t know what I’m going to find behind any of the cupboard doors…
Hope you have a lovely day with the DGSs grandmabatty - enjoy!
Lots of lovely family happenings SueD it’s so good to be so involved and needed
Belated Happy Birthday Charlygirl hope you had a nice day.🍾🎂🎉.
Lovely photo Soop enjoy your family.
After a horrendous flight we are here in sunny Corfu. We sat on the runway at Heathrow for 2 hours then the landing in Corfu was aborted it was very scary.Just pleased to be here,it’s very hot maybe a storm tomorrow.
Take care Kitcheners have a pleasant evening.
Would you credit it...Saturday has been all go. I imagined that we would have a chill-out day. Wrong! I have now to empty the washing machine that beeped a very long time ago, only to be ignored.
Dropped by to see friends. Caught up with another pal that we rarely see. Been on Facebook, looking at photos taken around Glencoe. Awaiting news that son and daughter-in-law have conquered Ben Nevis. Today's weather is much improved.
Will raise a glass of cheer to all our lovely Kitcheners at the appropriate time; 8:30 sharp.

Thank you all so much. SueDonim I am sure that is not the correct age, I was under the impression it was 29!
I had a really pleasant day and tomorrow I am being taken out for lunch. Never thought I would reach this age with most of my marbles intact.
The best birthday gift was from the Council- they removed all of the rubbish fly-tipped on my front lawn. I was slightly naughty and moved it partially onto the road because I was well aware they would not remove it from private property and I did not see why I should pay for the pallets etc. to go. Somebody kindly removed the 2 fridges overnight!
Lovely photos soop
Good evening everyone.
I have conquered my worries and am just going up to get my glad rags on for my guest.
Everything is done, I set the table this morning and prepared the veg.
I am being cautious so I don’t get flustered and have just bought prawn toasts to eat while we have a G&T.
Then rack of lamb so simple to cook, creamed baby leeks, medley of green veg ready packed by Mr Sainsbury and I have made a red wine and redcurrant sauce which tastes quite good.
For dessert I have bought again, choc and caramel cheesecake.
I don’t think it will be eaten actually, we are both well over the hill in age.
We shall see.
Now everything is done my nerves are ok.
I am sure most of you like me, entertained hundreds of times in the 70s/80s/ 90s so why has my confidence disappeared?
It is a friend, not a stranger.
Annsixty, that sounds like a wonderful meal. I know what you mean though, when my dsis and bil came I offered to cook( we normally eat out with them) I was so stressed but it all went swimmingly. Enjoy your meal.
That sounds awful Yia not the best start to a much needed break.
Fingers crossed today has gone well Grandmabatty bedtime soon? Theirs, not yours!
Have a lovely evening ann it’ll be fine, you can relax now 🥂.
Newspaper has been read, crossword and TV part remains for me to browse and attempt. It’s been a cloud/sun day, chill in the shade, tomorrow is due to be warmer so it’ll be a garden clearing few hours.
Big rugby match to watch tonight after dinner.
Enjoy your evening all.
Dear Kitcheners, it's been a busy day. Dgs2 only had two tantrums because he wanted to go for a walk and I was heading home. He's been remarkably good today, although we'll see what bedtime brings.
I've just put him down. Fingers crossed that he stays down all night. Dgs1 has been an absolute star for a four year old. He is currently watching cars and eating popcorn. Grandma hasn't had any dinner yet so I expect it'll be toast later. I am knackered
It really sounds as though MrCG has turned a corner, Cornergran. It’s been a long old haul for you but it’s coming right at long last.
Those tarmac delays are so awful Yia partly because you don’t know how long you’re going to be there for. We had to wait so long on a flight to Australia we ended up having to taxi back to the gate to refuel! We then had a mad rush in Doha for our onward connection. I hope the stay on Corfu is making you feel better.
Glad you’ve arrived safely in Basel, Brook.
Charleygirl. We’re all 29 in our heads, aren’t we?
I hope your evening with your friend went well, Annsixty.
Gmbatty I don’t know how you manage two small children at once! I’ve never done that - the minimum age gap between my own DC was four years so it’s not something I’ve ever had to do.
Our day turned out somewhat different from that planned. We’d been going shopping with dd1 without the GC but her Dh had to work and she wasn’t going to drag two kids to the shops. Instead, I made an arrangement with a friend to meet for coffee in a garden centre and dd and the GC joined us there, which was nice. Then GD decided she wanted to come back to our house and have her tea with us, so we did that, taking her home just in time to be put to bed.
Tomorrow is supposed to be wet and windy so we’ll see what morning brings. Good night everyone. Xxx
Hoping you’ve enjoyed entertaining this evening Ann and the meal has gone well, it sounds delicious, well done
We’ve had a lovely day in Basel today, just generally relaxing and sitting outside in the sunshine with a coffee and chatting. We had lunch out and then DS cooked dinner for us all this evening. Tomorrow we’re off for a walk in the mountains somewhere
Hoping your DS and DiL enjoyed climbing Ben Nevis Soop
Sounds like a good day grandmabatty but bet you’re exhausted now - hope both the little boys sleep well tonight
Hope you can relax now Yia and enjoy your holidays 😎
